Tricky twins – Tsukishima x reader wc 638 – f!reader, twin!Hinata
Tumblr media
Tsukishima Kei refused to admit he had a crush on someone in his class. He would never tell anyone about his total focus on every smart word that comes from your mouth at the teacher’s query in history class, nor anything about the way he would pretend to adjust his glasses just so he could divert his eyes to take in your beauty.
But between us? Tsukki was lowkey obsessed with you.
He’s lucky your brain was part of the reason he likes you; the way you distracted him in class would have led to a decrease in grades had your intelligent answers not been what occupied him.
You’re quiet and calm, and everything the volleyball club was not, so he had you and them as two wholly separate worlds. Until one day, disaster struck when you knocked on the gym door and pulled the door open to stick your head in.
Tsukki stuttered in his step, realising he was closest to the door. Honestly, his first thought was that you must be there for him. “Hey. Do you need something?”
You raised an eyebrow and didn’t have to strain your ears to find the person you were looking for. “My brother told me to come here with my house key because he’ll be home late.”
Tsukki’s blood ran cold. No. Way. Any one of these guys could be your brother and pretty much all those options were terrible news. “And who would that be, exactly?”
“Shoyo.”
Right. Because your last name is Hinata. How could he not have put those two inevitable pieces together before?
As he heard his name, the orange-haired spiker turned towards you and grinned, bouncing over and thanking you profusely for lending him your keys. “No problem. Will you make it home to watch the new episode with Natsu?”
As the two of you talked, Tsukishima struggled to move away. He stared from one of you to the other, horrified at the revelation that you were probably twins.
“Suckyshima-“ Shoyo’s voice brought him right back, and he quickly cleared his throat and turned away from you two, going back to serve practice beside Yamaguchi in complete ignorance of whatever Hinata wanted to say.
Tsukki’s ears were irredeemably red, and his best friend would not let it past him.
“She’s in your class, right?” Yamaguchi asked him before picking up another ball from the basket behind them.
“She is,” he confirmed, as nonchalant as ever.
“I didn’t know you two were friends-”
“We’re not.”
“Is that why you didn’t realise she was Hinata’s twin?” Tsukishima sharply turned to his best friend, surprised and quickly switching into a glare as he turned back to the net, taking a while to gather his answer.
“She doesn’t have orange hair.”
“Maybe she dyes it,” Yamaguchi genuinely wondered, glancing over at where you were still laughing with your twin.
“She’s smart. So smart.”
“Twins can be very different,” Yamaguchi agreed, snickering under his breath at the burn on their shorter teammate.
“Yamaguchi,” Tsukki called, making the float server’s throat hitch. The blonde had turned his whole body to him, hands squeezing each side of the volleyball he held. “We will never speak of this again.”
Tumblr media
Tsukishima stared at the back of your head in class the next day. It made no sense.
He couldn’t pull his eyes away as you read a scientific paper in the break time, itching to ask what kind of article it was because his glasses, unfortunately, didn’t come with extra zoom.
Before he knew it, he had walked over to the side of your desk, finally noticing the name of a palaeontologist he admired highlighted in green.
You looked up at him in surprise and he inevitably crumbled. “Can I help you?”
Yes, he had a raging crush on Hinata Shoyo’s twin sister.

(a/n) NOT PROOFREAD YET GUYS <3 i love kang no-eul sm someone hold me down
Tumblr media
the morning sun kissed your skin, tracing the curves and contours of your form with golden light. you were seated in your usual spot beside your dearest friends, talking about nothing and everything at the same time.
you had always been the center of attention.
your eyes would flitter around the small crowd that formed around you, lashes fluttering as you drank in the latest whispers of gossip, covering your face and snickering at the joke one of the guys had pulled.
yet, despite the adoration everybody had towards you, despite the countless amount of praise you get, your mind would always wander off, your brain gets fuzzy, your friends chatter around you blurred into white noise.
your eyes would always find her.
kang no-eul.
no-eul was nothing short of the quiet, reserved kid. the girl who lived in the awkward spaces between conversations, she kept to her self, but she still managed to be kind to everybody— even though her kindness wasn't really repaid, all the while keeping her guard up.
your friends weren't too fond of her. they were nicer than most people no-eul had encounter but they'd glare at you then narrow their gaze to no-eul every time you greeted her in the morning. —
"morning, no-eul!" you beamed, your eyes crinkled with amusement at the sight of the disheveled, tired girl frozen in the doorway.
no-eul stood there, stunned. as if she couldn’t quite believe that greeting was meant for her. the tips of her ears flushed a deep crimson, she croaked a weak 'hi' at you, before shuffling to her seat.
"since when were you close to kang no-eul?" one of your friends pressed, curiosity gleaming in their eyes. you just shot her a knowing smile and shrugged.
your friend wasn’t satisfied. they leaned in, lowering their voice as if sharing some great secret. "i don’t know… she’s odd." —
you never hesitated to scold your friends when they were unkind to others, but the girls outside your friend group were a whole different story.
no-eul would pass by you in the hallways, her eyes glued to the ground in shame whenever she saw them trailing behind you.
in class, those said girls would answer the teacher’s questions before no-eul could even part her lips.
one day, during passing period, you finally witnessed firsthand just how cruel those girls could be. —
you stepped into the bathroom just as the group of girls swept out, their laughter still echoing against the tiles. you beelined to the only stall in the bathroom that was occupied.
the last bathroom booth door swung open. she flinched at the looming shadow cast over her. but when she lifted her eyes, she found no cruelty there—only worry, raw and unguarded.
"no-eul!" your voice cracked as you dropped to your knees right in front of her, the feeling of your kneecaps hitting the cold tiles sent a jolt throughout your body.
your hands fumbled or the nearest roll of toilet paper. "who did this to you..?"
your fingers worked in frantic desperation, dabbing at her soaked uniform, her cold cheeks, as if wiping away the water could erase the hurt. but her silence, her downcast eyes, told you everything.
no-eul just sat there, perched atop the closed toilet lid without a word, head hung low in shame, her hands curled into fists on her lap. —
there was always something about her that drew you in, you've always asked yourself why.
was it because you both were total polar opposites?
was it the way her soft, raven hair that barely kissed the nape of her neck, dancing in the cold breeze of the morning air made your heart leap?
maybe it's how her pretty chapped lips pursed in concentration and her gaze half-lidded as she lost herself in thought?
the way she would wear a lopsided smirk, showing off her toothy grin whenever your history teacher made a dumb joke?
she'd always sit exactly right behind you, her presence a quiet shadow, her best friend gyeong-seok right next to her. but he was more intrigued by the pages in between his sketchbook rather than his desperate, lovesick friend. —
the school bell rang, signaling that it was time for lunch break. no-eul practically stumbled out of her desk, her grip firm on gyeong-seok as she practically dragged the artist to the school's rooftop.
that’s where she told him.
"you're in love with who..?"
she confessed in fragments, recounting everything she felt towards you—how she's felt this feeling deep down ever since high-school started, how she caught herself staring too long, how her pulse raced whenever she was assigned to work with you, how she found herself doing things she would never do for anyone else.
she basically moped all day after venting to the artist, complaining how you were 'too out of her league' and 'wouldn't notice someone like her'.
boy, was she wrong.
no-eul was nothing like you. even though she had always stayed true to her feelings, she was physically and emotionally unable to express them—the words always caught in her throat, weighed down by hesitation.
so instead, she expressed them in quieter ways—subtle, almost imperceptible. a lingering glance. a touch that lasted a second too long. a presence that was always near, even if she never said why. —
the first semester of junior year had been hard on you, you felt like your mind was going in circles with all of the schoolwork you had piled up, frustration clawing at the edges of your patience.
no-eul noticed your harsh scowl, you tried to make sense of the question on the physics paper, your pen skated through the parchment in desperate, nonsensical attempts at answers. your brows knit together, as the gears in your head try to turn.
a thought brewed in no-eul's mind. she wasn’t one to offer help freely—usually. she’d toss her notes to whoever asked, letting them fend for themselves.. but something urged her to actually teach you.
you were deep in thought, your hands gripped the strands of your hair when a sharp screech of metal against tile jolted you from your trance, no-eul's chair dragged right next to you.
your eyes slowly turned to the tall figure standing next to you, her desk chair was still held close to her, "no-eul?"
"i- uh.. sorry, i should've asked first.. do you need any help?" she stuttered, setting her chair right beside you, its impact made a loud scraping noise that made her squeeze her eyes in grimace.
your heart swelled at her pathetic attempt on trying to assist you. you nodded eagerly with a smile at the offer, from then on, whenever you're struggling with any subjects, no-eul would be there to help.
you'd purposely get some questions wrong, ask questions you already know the answer to, just to feel her fingertips accidentally brush against yours as she guided you toward the right answer. —
unlike no-eul, the moment you realized your feelings—when the pieces clicked into place and the weight of your affection settled in your chest—you didn’t shy away. you didn’t overthink or hesitate. instead, you showed your interest by acting on it.
"no-eul-ah! the school's anniversary festival is coming up soon, do you want to spend the day together?" you asked, hope gleamed in your eyes as you gripped the edge of her desk, leaning towards her.
safe to say, no-eul short circuited at the question, her brain stalled, staring at you for what seems like eternity in disbelief. how could you.. always oh so effortlessly charming, a beacon of warmth in a wave of ordinary—asked her, of all people?
the classroom fell into silence. your friend group, along with a few curious classmates, had already turned their full attention to the unfolding scene, watching with barely concealed interest.
no-eul's stomach twisted. was this okay? was this safe? would this—whatever this was—somehow taint your untouchable reputation?
you batted your lashes in anticipation, when it took her a second longer to respond, you started chewing on your lip. maybe you had just embarrass yourself..
"oh, um, it's okay.. i'll let you think about it..!" you smiled weakly, fidgeting with the edge of your manicured nails, your eyes glued to the floor tiles as you turned on your heel, retreating back to your seat.
no-eul grasped your forearm, pulling you back. firm yet hesitant. afraid that the opportunity to get to know you better would slip away.
"wait." her voice was low and breathy. enough to make your heart stutter. "i want to go to the festival with you."
"i would.. love to go to the festival with you." —
no-eul had only ever dreamed of being so close to you.
you, ever the social butterfly, were always surrounded by friends, laughter, and effortless conversation. no-eul never had the chance to truly talk to you—not in a way that mattered. not in a way where it was just the two of you, without the noise, without the watching eyes.
so when the festival finally came, you were hand in hand with a very nervous kang no-eul, strolling through the vibrant bazaar.
the air buzzed with laughter and excitement, the stalls adorned with patterned tarps, fluttering banners, and balloons swaying gently in the breeze.
as you both enjoyed each others company, you were reminded that you are well-known among the other classes aswell, and lingering stares followed you both. whispers of curiosity hung in the air, no doubt intrigued by the unexpected sight of such an unlikely pair.
no-eul was definitely self-conscious about herself, constantly checking in on you, asking if you were alright—if you were comfortable. it was in her nature to worry, to overthink, especially in unfamiliar environments like this. she would usually either stay back at home at free days like this or visit the local library with gyeong-seok, but she couldn't pass up the opportunity to go on a cute date with her painfully cliché high-school crush!
you opted for cute snacks the sophomores were selling as a way to fund their upcoming field-trip. you gushed to no-eul how much you missed doing fundraisers like that last year, reminiscing about the chaos of baking sales and last-minute poster-making as you both share a cookie bomb sundae.
no-eul was more of a listener rather than a talker, she loved how excited you get talking about the things you adored. conversation ran smoothly between you two the initial awkwardness melting away like the last remnants of your shared sundae now that the ice is slowly breaking. —
"no-eul, look! carnival games!" you squealed, excitement bubbling over as you rushed over the lively, red-and-white circus tent that the seniors were running.
it was a shooting game—aim at the center of the moving rubber ducky four times, and you win a giant plushie.
you gawked at the periwinkle-purple bunny that hung high above the stand, its oversized, glittery eyes practically begging you to take it home.
"i'll try!" you smiled at the attendee. determination settling in.
"what?" no-eul blinked, watching you slap a wad of money on the counter.
a basketful of paintball ammo was slid towards you, 8 chances.
you gulped at the sight of the paintball gun, suddenly feeling the weight of reality settle on your shoulders. you had never handled one before.
"gosh, i'm going to embarrass myself!" you whined, fumbling while filling in the gun with ammo.
no-eul stayed silent, her expression unreadable— before she gave you a reassuring smile before tucking a strand of your hair that covered your vision back.
"stay focused, yeah?"
your breath hitched, your cheeks were tinted with the softest shade of pink, your heart felt warm at the sudden touch. you nodded at her, your eyes still bore onto her espresso-brown ones before turning your gaze back at the rapidly moving ducks.
1.. missed.
2.. missed again.
3.. another one?
4.. okay you were bad at this.
you turned back to no-eul with an awkward, shy smile. ready for her to laugh at you like your friends would usually do when you mess up these silly little games.
but no.
"may i?" no-eul’s voice was gentle, yet firm. she gently removed the paintball gun from your hands without a word, letting herself handle it and get into position.
4 paintballs left.
1.. hit
2.. another hit.
3.. bullseye.
4..
..you walked off the stand, grinning from ear to ear at your new periwinkle bunny best friend clutched tightly to your chest.
as you both wandered through the festival, your excitement was impossible to contain. no-eul could feel your gaze on her, the way you kept glancing up at her with starry eyes, your voice bubbling over with giddy little' thank you''s to her, satisfied with your prize.
"yeah, yeah, you're cute. just stop smiling at me like that." she teased, a weak, dumb smirk plastered across her face.
"where did you learn to shoot like that?" you queried her innocently, only squeezing her arm tighter.
"..that's a story for another day." no-eul glanced at you, her smirk widening ever so slightly, a flicker of pride in her eyes—pleased that she was the reason behind your bright smile.
you both ended the day in front of the outdoor stage, the sun melting into the horizon, painting the sky in hues of gold and indigo. principal young-il announced today's successful fundraiser, where the sophomore kids had raised enough money to fund their long-awaited school field-trip. ending the day with celebratory fireworks.
"i.. really liked spending time with you today." no-eul admitted, the tip of her freckled nose twitch in the cold air. a small, playful smile played on her lips.
your heart swole at the confession. this might've been the most fun you've had since forever. "you did?" you asked, your voice soft, almost hesitant—like you didn’t want to startle the moment away.
no-eul just smiled at you, her eyes half-lidded. a raw, pure emotion hid underneath her tired eyes. "i just wish we could.. spend time with each other more, like this."
"hmm." you hummed in agreement, relishing the warmth of the night despite the cool breeze, "well.. why don't we?"
the first firework bloomed in a burst of gold. the glow illuminated her features—her sharp yet delicate eyes, the faint dusting of freckles across her nose, the barely-there flush creeping up her cheeks.
"would you like.. to?.." the short-haired girl asked shyly, earning an airy giggle from you.
"of course, no-eul." you cooed, turning your body to face her. "i would love to spend time with you and get to know you."
no-eul mimicked your movements, turning her full body towards you. her eyebrows furrowed, her lips curled into a familiar frown— worry plastered across her face.
you gently took her hands in yours, fingertips grazing against her palm in a quiet reassurance. "i know what you're thinking.. i don't care what my friends think, what other people think. what i think.. is that if they got to know you better.. they'll understand while i like you."
a second firework erupted, however it was not the one that lit up the evening sky, it was one close to no-eul's heart. she adored how you could understand her so quickly, how you could make all her worries disappear in a second.
no-eul brought up your intertwined hands to her face, soothing herself with your touch before planting a sweet kiss on top of your knuckles.
"thank you.. for understanding me."
you hummed in response, a small exhale escaping your lips. you tilted your head up to the sky, the fireworks reflected in your eyes, shimmering like tiny nebulas, and no-eul couldn’t help but stare.
the noise of the festival seemed distant now, fading into a blur of laughter and chatter. here, in this fleeting moment, it was just the two of you.
you felt something unspoken between the two of you, words teetering in the tip of your tongue that needed to be put out, but you both decided to let the silence speak for itself.
because no-eul was here, with you.
and that's all you needed.

There is a point at which school becomes just completely useless. There are skills you learn later on that (there's a big chance) you'll never need for your future job.
In maths, I consider it important to learn about converting numbers into percentages and working with scales. Everyone should know what a 20% discount on your 50$ shirt means‚ and how to look at a map with a scale and understand how far you gotta walk up to your destination. But trigonometry (the study of angles)? analytic geometry? fvcking prime numbers?? A kid should be able to opt out of that.
I'm personally too much of a sciences fan to tell you anything that wouldn't come around as useful later in your life‚ but mandatory physics is kind of an overkill. Why do schools force you to learn how to calculate which bus is gonna get the most damage from a boulder falling from heaven considering it's windy in Hawaii?
In my birth country‚ PE wasn't mandatory if you proved you were enrolled in sports outside of school. Not trying to flex here, but you could focus on karate‚ swimming‚ hockey‚ whatever - instead of being forced to be good at every single sport.
Mandatory English classes (not as a foreign language) are also just stupid after you learn basic grammar and the different media types. The ability to classify words and where they should go in a sentence, to know where to put a comma - that's useful. Classifying clauses is a waste of time.
Sure we should know about our countries' classic literature pieces. I can't find two kids who enjoy being forced to read those old books though. Recently, in the country I moved to, kids have been given 10 minutes out of English class to quietly read a book they brought to school themselves (and it can't be in a foreign language). They're encouraged to ask questions about unknown words and such. That's interesting. That's gotta be way better than reading and interpreting a news article the don't give a fudge about.
I'm sorry for the long text, but school system is so disgustingly flawed. I didn't even talk about speeches and presentations, that are the number one fear of many children regarding school.
Tumblr media
#I always got straight As at maths and physics if you got the impression i only hate those because i sucked at 'em#nah I'm a natural genius. I do maths for fun. so trust me when i say kids will NOT need trigonometry#because I can't find a single fvcking excuse to do trigonometry in my day to day life#not a single reason to calculate when the orange's gonna hit the ground#TEACHERS NEED TO BE GOOD WITH CHILDREN BTW#teachers need to have a sense of sympathy at the very least#my autism hates the sound of balls being kicked or bouncing on the ground so PE was a nightmare#of course i didn't have a diagnosis so i just kept being punished for my meltdowns. it pulled my grades down obviously#it wasn't until eight grade that a teacher FINALLY pulled her head out of her ass and told me to get this checked out#she made me realize “holy shit. yeah maybe this isn't fvcking normal.”#up until then‚ teachers would just glare at me and move on#i never did any speeches at school up until tenth grade because‚ well‚ I couldn't freaking speak.#and I'm telling you - teachers *yelled* at me when i refused to do the presentations#had to endure six years of teachers scolding me over and over for not speaking about a topic they chose in front of another 20 children#and listen#I was lucky enough to end up with excellent‚ friendly classmates. Always got along well with everyone since 7th grade#but I can imagine what it'd be like to... *not* get along with all of your classmates. to have a bully spend 40 hours a week beside you.#this isn't okay#this is bad#this all sounds like hell and nobody does sheet about it#sorry that's a lot of tags#I just fvcking hate school#school life#interacting#text post

“teacher’s pet”pt.2 (mdni 18+)
teacher!in-ho x you
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
getting involved with his student was risky, but how far was he willing to take it until he would be confronted?
༯ ──── ❤︎ ──── ༯
“you know, something’s up with you and mr in-ho… you’re like way friendlier than most students and teachers are.” you friend commented as you were walking out the school gate.
“what? no!” you glared at her, looking away.
to be fair, it was pretty obvious. you just didn’t want it to end, it felt good having a handsome man like mr in-house wrapped around your finger. but you didn’t know who you were trying to protect more, him or you.
the next day when you stepped into class, you gave him yet another wave, causing him to do the same.
if mr in-ho wasn’t so good-looking, you would say his lessons were mundane. but luckily for you, your interest had peaked miraculously ever since you started attending his class.
when the bell rang, you packed your bags, ready to leave. but just as you brushed past his table, you felt his hand grab onto yours.
“stay back.” he whispered, making you look back at your friends that had left.
“why? did i do something wrong?” you asked as he slowly but hesitantly released your hand.
“no, not at all… i just thought we could spend some time together.” he shrugged, seemingly with pure intentions.
but you saw right through.
bullshit.
“it is your lunch now right?” he asked.
he swiftly half sat on his desk, signalling for you to take his teacher’s seat instead.
“yea, it is. did you stalk my timetable?” you teased causing him to let out a chuckle.
“just happened to see it.”
“okay then. so, how are you liking this school?”
“oh, i’ve taught in this school before. i just haven’t been back into the teaching scheme in awhile.”
“oh, i didn’t know that.” you replied, hands rested on your hands as you stared at him, intrigued. “so i’m guessing you liked teaching him, or you would’ve found another school.”
“of course. there’s something in the air of this school, makes me keep wanting coming back.”
“maybe it’s the student… maybe a student.” you wiggled your eyebrows as you joked, testing waters.
“possibly.” he shook his head in disbelief.
“i’m assuming you don’t have a wife?” you questioned.
“well… i did, but she isn’t with us anymore.” he said, his tone changing, sounding much softer, much more vulnerable.
“oh…i’m sorry, i don’t mean to pry. i’m sure she must have been very beautiful… inside and out.” you offered him a smile as you placed your hand over him comfortingly.
in-house looked down to where your hands were meeting, breath suddenly caught in his throat.
“thank you.” he cleared his throat before gently pulling away. “so, are you doing anythung after school?”
“no, not really. alot of assignments are piling up, i should go home straight away.” you told him as he nodded sympathetically.
“so you’re a hard-working girl, huh?”
“of course, have you not seen me in your class?” you laughed.
“i have… alot.” the last word said almost in a whiser, barely able to hear if you weren’t fully paying attention to him.
you could feel a string of tension in the air, you breath quickened as he started to move away.
“i should go, should probably eat before my next class.” you made up an excuse, grabbing your stuff and dashing for the door.
before in-house could stop you, you were gone.
shit, did he take it too far?
for the rest of the periods, you couldn’t focus. it was so wrong. so, so wrong.
this was the moment you realised how bad you had it too. in-ho, the man you knew for barely a month had already had you in a chokehold.
when classes ended, you were going to head home. but then came a slight misfortune, it was pouring.
you stood at the gate with a huff as the rain grew heavier by the second. all your friends had took off, heading to a nearby diner together, leaving you behind.
fuck it, you thought. you walked in the pouring rain, feet dragging as you let out curses under your breath.
just then, there was a honk.
as you shielded your eyes from the rain you saw who it was, mr in-ho.
“what are you doing?!” he asked as he pulled up beside you, “get in before you get sick!”
with no other choice, you pulled open the car door, hopping into the passenger seat as you felt his eyes tearing into you.
“thank you.” you breathed out as you looked at yourself, you were soaked. “i’m sorry about the car seat, this looks like a really expensive car.”
“don’t worry about it… are you okay? is it still cold? i can turn off the air conditioning.” he replied, his eyes full of worry.
“no, i’m okay. thank you.”
“do you have an address where i can drop you off?”
in-ho gave you his phone, letting you put your address into his gps before he drove off.
at first, the car ride was silent. it wasn’t an awkward silence, it was a comfortable one. one where you could hear the humming of the engine and the water splashing onto the windshield.
“why did you take off just now?” in-ho suddenly asked, turning to you for a split second.
“i-i just… you- i don’t-”
“it’s okay, you don’t have to answer.”
“no. it’s just that i don’t want to misinterpret anything and end up regretting it for the rest of my life.” you vomitted out.
he stayed silent.
“and what would that be?” he asked after a bried moment of silence.
“that you were into me…” you said softly, “…like how i am to you.”
he only hummed in agreement.
shit, was this it? did you mess up?
before you could somehow salvage the situation, the car came to a stop.
“we’re here.”
“i’m sorry, i knew i shouldn’t have said that. i-i was just misinterpreting the whole thing a-an-”
but you were cut off with in-ho’s soft hands cupping your face, barely giving you any time before his lips met with yours.
you let out a muffled gasp before you melted into him.
at that moment, he was all you knew.
in-ho, in-ho, in-ho.
when he pulled away, you involuntarily let out a whine, causing him to smile.
“it’s our secret.” he said as you nodded frantically. “you know what? since you’re my favourite student, i’ll give you my number…”
he then took out a piece of paper, scribbling his number on it and placed it in the palm of your hand.
“don’t lose it.” he instructed as you were still caught up in what exactly just happened.
with that, you exited his car, giving him a small wave as per usual. he made sure that you got into your apartment before he took off, a stupid smile never leaving his face.
that night, you were on your bed, tossing in turning. you couldn’t sleep.
‘maybe this was the time to put his number to good use.’ you thought.
you crawled over to your nightstand, taking you phone as you typed in his number.
‘hey! i hope this is the right number.’ you texted.
within a minute, your phone had buzzed.
‘Y/n?’
‘yea. sorry i don’t mean to bother you.’
‘It’s alright, i was just grading papers. It’s late, why aren’t you asleep?’
‘couldn’t. but if you’re busy we can talk when you’re free. :) ’
‘Nonsense. Papers can wait. Did you catch a cold?’
‘no, i’m okay. thanks for the ride though!’
‘Anytime, Y/n. You have my number, call me if you ever need a ride home. :)’
you were kicking your feet like a pre-tesn texting their first crush.
‘I’ll see you tomorrow in class okay? Get some sleep, need you to be awake for my class.’
you giggled.
‘okay. goodnight mr in-ho!’
‘Goodnight, Sweetheart. Sweet dreams.’
yup. you were fucked.

"m'gonna kill you."
normally, most people would be extremely confused, if not terrified at someone wrapping their arms around their waist from behind and those words being growled in their ear.
though not terrified, you are a little confused as to why your boyfriend would say this to you. while also nuzzling into your uniform.
"katsuki, what ?"
"m'gonna fuckin' kill you, if you don't wanna die get ready to tusle." he reiterates, the seriousness in his voice confuses you even more but you can't help but laugh a bit.
"why, what'd i do ?"you chortle. immediately you're spun around and pressed against the abnormally large door of your classroom. you'd been leaning on it waiting for him after you couldn't walk to class together like you usually do since mina had asked you to walk with her to the vending machine to get a snack before class. you figured it'd be okay since you texted him and he read your message but didn't respond, it's a classic petty katsuki move so you thought nothing of it.
but now it's looking like maaayybee you should've.
"ya fuckin' left without me this morning." ah, thought so.
"oh ?" you giggle. he doesn't look amused, glaring harder at you "yeah." he urged. "abandoned me so you could run off with racoon eyes."
"and that's why you're gonna kill me ? cus i didn't give you your morning kiss ?" you tease, voice quivering as you hold in your laughter.
"yup. hope you said your prayers." you roll your eyes, looking around the empty hallways before you decide to make your move. it seemed your teacher was going to be arriving a little late and since everyone had already headed to class the coast was clear.
wrapping your arms around his shoulders, you give him your sweetest eyes. you squeeze at him when he keeps glaring, he grunts.
"we don't have to take it that far.." you muse, pulling him closer to you, his lip twitches as he looks down at you. you get up a little closer to his face, smirking. "shoulda thought about that, sweets." he grumbles, sarcastically spitting the petname. keeping his arms on the door behind you. he's tough, but you're not done yet.
slowly you trail your arms up all the way around his neck, tugging him closer to you innocently. his ears redden the slightest bit, his mouth turns downwards harder and he's basically squinting at you. oh, you got him.
" oooorr..i could just..give you a morning kiss now..? wouldn't that be better ? if you kill me, who will give you your morning kisses then, hm ?" the sudden thought of your boyfriend finding somebody else as childish as it is makes a little salty, so you scrunch your nose up at the air " don't answer that."
at that, he cracks a smile, obviously proud to see the effect his insufferable self has on you. leaning in until your noses are a breath away from eachothers he smirks, usually he'd comfort you about your worries, but he knows better than to answer lest you get cranky and he doesn't get his kiss at all "fine." he grunts finally, his arms suddenly wrap around you, pulling you completely to his chest. he smirks when you splutter in surprise.
he grins "better make this one good, otherwise you owe me five more."
he says though he doesn't let you go after you've pressed your lips to his once..or the second time, pulling you closer to him and grumble when you try to pull away for a third kiss "stop squirmin'" he complains, arms squeezing you closer as you giggle about someone seeing you. katsuki bites at your lip, causing you to gasp. he breathes heavily "i don't care. gimme my kiss." he insists.
and how could you deny him ? you really couldn't, even as you hear your class rep gasp about how indecent and inappropriate you're both being. katsuki pulls away just slightly to grumble against your lips. and he shoots you a look, making a face to make fun of the boy scolding you both, you snort loudly and cover your mouth hoping he hasn't heard you.
katsuki is as unbothered as ever, snickering to himself that he was able to make you laugh, and he doesn't need anything else. he shoots iida a look, tells him him to fuck off, then dives in for one more kiss. he grabs your hand to drag into the classroom. he ignores iida as he continues lecturing you both, sending him a middle finger.

“sorry i'm late,” you sigh, hurrying into the teacher’s lounge much later than usual. shoko’s the only one there, feet propped up on the coffee table as she flips through a medical journal. you throw your coat over the back of a chair before joining her, trying to rub the sleep from your eyes
“morning, sunshine.” shoko chuckles, handing you a mug. “this is a double shot, but maybe i should have gotten you a triple? what kept you up last night?”
“nothing," you quickly defend.
“you sure? because i'm not above blocking all the exits until you tell me.”
“you promise not to judge?”
“not out loud.”
you roll your eyes at your best friend, but wring your hands tightly in your lap as you recall the events of last night. “have you ever had a…a special dream–”
shoko sits up straight, eyes wide as she says, much too loud, “you mean a sex dream?”
“shh!” you swat her on the arm, glaring.
shoko ignores your obvious distress, grinning from ear to ear. “who are you having sex dreams about? is it ijichi? akari? oh my god, is it me? is it gojo? don’t tell me it’s gojo…”
“i may have been dreaming about…kento.”
“nanami?!”
heat immediately pools in your cheeks. “you can’t tell anyone, especially gojo. and hey, don't say it like that!”
“i swear i’m not judging!” she promises. “if anything, i approve!”
“ugh,” you groan, heading over to the counter to put your unfinished mug in the sink. “i don’t know what’s going on with me.”
“fantasizing is normal. i’ve fantasized about everyone here. you, nanami, even gojo.”
“seriously?”
she takes a sip of her coffee, shrugging. “i'm a scorpio.”
that explains nothing and in no way makes you feel any better. if anything, you’re starting to feel a little possessive over someone who isn't even yours.
“well i need to stop thinking about him like this,” you mutter, frowning.
“back to your dream. did you guys…do it?”
“shoko!” you gasp, gaze darting to the open door.
“so you did,” she deduces. “was it good?”
it was great. not that you’d tell her.
“hey, naughty is good. naughty is sexy,” she laughs.
you rest your hip against the counter, shaking your head. “i can’t dream of him like that again. i can’t go on missions with him if i’m having these…inappropriate thoughts.”
“why? cause you want to be his good girl?”
some clears their throat loudly.
both your heads whip toward the door, where nanami’s standing with his briefcase. “good morning.”
as he walks further into the lounge you wonder two things. first, how much he heard. second, how much force would it take to put your head through the wall–
“excuse me.” your entire body stiffens when a hand is placed on your waist, nanami gently moving you to the side as he grabs a mug from the cabinet.
memories of last night’s dream invade the crevices of your mind, causing you to quickly step out of his reach. with his back turned you look to shoko for help, who simply makes a circle with her thumb and index finger and–
you feign casualness when nanami turns to face you, sending you a small smile before taking his coffee and making a swift exit.
shoko bursts out laughing as you groan, wishing you could melt into the floor.
_____
“look at them. they're totally talking about us,” gojo mutters, peeking into the teacher’s lounge.
“so?” nanami asks, prying gojo’s hand from his sleeve.
“so, what do you think they're talking about? oh– oh, shoko just pulled out her phone. maybe they're talking about the thirst trap i posted for–”
nanami grabs the back of gojo’s shirt collar, dragging him away from the door. “why would they be talking about a picture you posted for your fiancée?”
“because i'm hot–”
“please stop talking.”
“you’re hot too, nanamin! someone’s been giving you the look lately.”
that makes him pause. “really? what look?”
the sorcerer wriggles out of his grip, an irritatingly wide grin on his face. “got your attention, did i?”
“what did you mean by that? what look?”
“the look. you know, the one where you’re picturing someone naked. fantasizing about them. caught her once while you were cooking us dinner. speaking of, what’s that one dish you made with the…”
nanami tunes out gojo’s nonsensical rambling, focusing on the few important things he’d shared as they walk down the hall. you were picturing him naked?
interesting.
_____
when you open the front door of your apartment, nanami is standing there with a bag of groceries and a bottle of wine.
oh no. this is how the fantasies always start.
“i was on my way home and wondered if you’ve eaten yet.”
you’d eaten two hours ago, but you step back to let him inside and get set up in the kitchen.
soon enough, your little kitchen is filled with the sound and scents of a home cooked meal. nanami is a natural in the kitchen, tossing veggies in a pan and stirring his homemade sauce.
(it almost looks as good as nanami does with his shirt sleeves rolled up to the elbow, cooking dinner in your apartment.)
you’re snapped out of your thoughts when he reaches over to refill your glass. he refills his own, covering the pot and leaving it to simmer as he turns to where you’re perched on the counter.
“i wanted to talk to you about something,” he says suddenly, sweating his glass down.
“hm?”
“i’m not above a few fantasies of my own.”
you almost choke on your wine. “gojo told you–”
he’s standing between your knees now, taking the glass from your hand and setting it aside. “i fantasize about you too.”
“you do?”
“i could tell you about them,” he suggests, voice dropping to a whisper as the tip of his nose nudges yours. “if you’re a good girl.”

You’d known Viktor for as long as you could remember, his house across the street from yours. As a curious kid, you’d often linger while he tinkered with small projects, asking questions. Your friendship really solidified one summer when your bike broke, and Viktor fixed it with surprising enthusiasm. To repay him, you let him ride on the handlebars while you scooted him around the neighborhood.
He's absolutely critiquing your work before the teachers even get their hands on it. Sitting beside you at your desk clump, thick eyebrows pulled together and scribbling little “???” or just straight up “no” in the margins of your handwriting. You always glare at him but you're secretly grateful.
He's observant, if you were hungry or tired he would wordlessly slide snacks onto your desk. He's not the best with social queues, but he knows when you're upset and he'll hover around you awkwardly until he blurts some random fact or sarcastic comment meant to distract you.
He's easily jealous, but in the way that he gets pouty, throwing himself into projects and denying anything is even wrong.
Definitely getting into squabbles all the time bickering like an old married couple
He's always gave you something handmade for your birthday. You still have it all. He's not big on his own birthdays but you always bring him a homemade cupcake.
This is not an original thought but he's definitely a gossip, ESPECIALLY as you grow into teen-hood. Not outwardly, but still he would unleash all his unfiltered opinions onto you, and his face definitely gives him away when he's silently judging someone. Mans got a wicked side eye.
Viktor had taken over his parents’ garage as his workshop, and it quickly became your second home. Most of your free time was spent perched on a stool, watching him work or pestering him with questions. You fell asleep there so often that he eventually squeezed a secondhand couch into the tiny space, insisting you needed somewhere more comfortable to crash.
You're each other's first kiss, but it doesn't happen until senior year. You're in his garage, complaining about never having kissed someone and he's like alright so let's kiss??? Things spiral from there.
“I mean, what kind of tragic story is that?” you grumble, tossing a pillow at him. “Eighteen and never kissed anyone. I’ll be the cautionary tale for future students.”  Viktor chuckles softly but doesn’t look up from his work. “I don’t see what the rush is. It’s not as if it matters.” “It matters to me,” you insist, sitting up. “Don’t you want to at least know what it’s like?” He stared at you for a moment, then let out a sigh, setting his tools aside. “Alright, then.” You blinked at him, confused. “Alright what?” He stepped closer, hands slipping into his pockets as he looked down at you. “Let’s kiss.” Your heart skipped a beat. “What?!” “You’re complaining about it, so, we kiss, you stop worrying about it, and we both move on. Simple.” His voice was steady, but the faint pink rising to his cheeks betrayed him. “You’re serious?” you asked, sitting up straighter. “Unless you’re too scared.” That did it. “I’m not scared,” you snapped, standing to face him. “Good,” he murmured, leaning in just enough for you to feel his breath against your lips. “Then stop talking.” Before you could come up with a retort, his lips pressed against yours, soft and careful. It was brief but left you reeling, your heart pounding as he pulled back. “Well?” he asked, tilting his head. “That should suffice, no?” You stared at him, dumbfounded, before bursting into laughter. “Yeah… yeah, I guess it’ll do.” He smirked, turning back to his workbench, though the tips of his ears were unmistakably red. “You’re welcome.” It was just a kiss, you told yourself. But as you sat back down, touching your lips absentmindedly, you couldn’t help but wonder why your heart was still racing.

sea you with me!
aquarium dates with you
itoshi rin x reader: mainly from rin’s pov, fluff, a little bit of crack, not proofread + likes and reblogs are appreciated
notes: HIIII anon!!!! YES OFCCCC<333 fun fact is that i have never been to one but i hope it’s still sort of accurate TT spent my lesson break for this I JUST GOT A LITTLE EXCITED… just a little!!!! <3 dwww i read ur other part of req tooo although its in the bonus section ish !! <333
holding your hand in the midst of the crowd that forms around different section of glasses featuring different sea creature - from translucent-like jellyfish that practically shines underneath the blue shimmering light above it hovering around, from green turtles that floats around slowly serenely right next and in contrast to the shark that seem to bare its teeth to show its glory to the people looking in awe. he thinks hes lovesick when he sees that and glance at the reflection of you and him, so reminiscent of those sea creatures - with you being as ethereal and breath-taking as the jellyfish as you smile and him being the sharks being placed on display in a separate tank right beside yours in contrast the same way he frowns and grimaces and glares at others.
really, he thinks he doesn’t quite fit the atmosphere - filled with other students with their friends cheerily taking pictures of one another in front of each glass panel with their digicam (that’s inside his pocket if you ever ask for it), filled with noisy kids that yelp and tug at their parents shirt as they attempt to navigate the already-crowded area, filled with people that dress picture-perfect and light to match the atmosphere in contrast to his black jacket hiding his school uniform. and again, he is reminded of his own lovesickness - forgoing a lazy after school hang out with you right in his bedroom playing yours and his favourite song whilst eating food from that cafe he knows youre practically addicted to simply because you asked him to, without any pleadings or begging. yet, don’t get him wrong, hes having fun here although not in the traditional sense - he enjoys seeing you point and brighten up when you see a fish that just catches your attention as you skip right to it, he enjoys feeling your hands against his as though made for each other as you tug against it to move to the next section, and most importantly he really does enjoy seeing you enjoy yourself. after all, he knows you deserve especially after exam season - he’s seen you all drained out lying your head on your desk just days ago clearly exhusasted a few hours after insisting you’ll be fine, he’s seen your piles of notes and assignments and even more printed exam papers to redo for your exam that he thinks your table has already become the equivalent of an library, and hes seen you fallen asleep at your desk way later than you should be after his football club with tears stains that he wished to have been there to wipe away, to kiss away, anything to have prevented you from having cried.
and its this point as you two are chatting about life, leaning in closer to you, where that colourful fish that has been staying still seems to have woken up and in its hurry seem to swim desperately to another side that startles the both of you (he wishes to curse that fish for it would have been a scene out of a manga that you always read if he had mustered the courage to kiss you right there and then), leading you to stumble and almost hit someone - and by someone, its apparently a little kid who looks confused and dazed, not even moving as you almost crash right into him.
you look at that little kid and he looks right back at you with his wide eyes - and hes pretty sure it lasts a while more before you apparently decide to play “adopt me” (just like when you and him were both kids on roblox.. but he digress…) and he’s pretty sure he might just have accidentally glared at the kid with the way he tugs at your jacket as he walks behind you as though hiding from him. and of course, hes used to that sight, hes never been great with kids - having scared his little cousin with just his looks at some point that led him to be reprimanded by said cousin’s parents, having been bitten by said little cousin as soon as his parents left almost letting out a ear-shattering scream that would have completely shattered whatever ego was left from that bite mark that lasted weeks, having being thrown a drink at by said cousin another time whilst he was minding his business playing games beside him whilst having to save his switch and end up soaking wet in his home clothes for another hour or so (and he’s sworn off babysitting for his cousin ever since then) (he had to go to blue lock)
but in front of you, he wants a little pride, to impress you, he digresses - tugging at his pocket to offer the little kid in front of you a candy (out of the many he brings to give to you and to snack on himself). and he knows hes successful, letting himself smile slightly in victory as the kid face appears from behind you, cautiously accepting the candy that rin helps to tear away the packet of for him to enjoy. and perhaps he associates that sugary sweet strawberry flavour that bursts in his mouth with the two of you, suddenly turning from the quiet and confused kid you randomly found to a kid who suddenly was open and talkative, all smiles and laughter, holding the both of your hands in his and skipping, pulling you and rin with him.
and now, he finds himself no longer pulled by you, but this random kid - but when he looks at you who’s attention is clearly on the kid, smiling and nodding to whatever things he’s saying, you practically you look like an angel especially with the way the aquarium white and blue lights were illuminating you. and midway of course, he slowly lets go of rin’s hand, leaving him behind almost comically as he holds yours and his bag. and he can practically feel eyes glared at him, and all he wants to do is to run away as he walks behind you and that little kid that he now suddenly feels was against him all along - with the way he tugs and your arm and..!
“.. mhm! ah! wait those are my parents! bye bye!” he says, turning back at you and rin with a bright smile that practically filled your heart with warmth as though he was the sun, waving excitedly at the both of you before he cheerily skips towards his parents who looked confused at where he was, pulling him by the hand worriedly.
and with that, your hands are back to merging with his, and that tint of red on his face from embarrassment changes into a blush across his face that is only highlighted by the lights from having his hands on you, walking about in the sea exhibition. he wonders a little what that kid told you, for you to hold his hands seemingly a little tighter, leaning your head on his shoulder that isn’t completely uncharacteristic but still a little strange as you glance at another exhibition of fishes swimming passionately around the tank as though dancing, brushing his hair aside before leaning in and merging your lips with his that practically makes his heart flutters and pump even faster than it does on the field - and he swears he understands all those mangas you rave about teenage romance and whatnot when youre practically made for him.
bonus:
“… seriously bachira… i don’t think that’s rin…”
“it seriously is! i followed him from that cafe! i’m serious isagi!!”
“with that kind of personality…?”
“hey! keep it down a little he’s about to turn around..?!”
and rin thinks hes going to lose his mind when he turns around after that kiss only to see his isagi and bachira huddled together whispering clearly about him in their respective school uniform, tugging you by your hand to somewhere else as he sees them through the reflective glass of the exhibitions following him and you a little too obviously. but he guesses if its with you, he doesn’t mind it at all.

In honor of Easter...
Eddie Munson can't sleep. Maybe it was the almost expired can of spaghetti that he had for dinner, maybe it's the new campaign he's itching to plan, maybe it's being back in the Hawkins High with yet another fight for graduation he's bound to lose because his literature teacher was yet another victim of Danny Munson's petty crimes, and what better revenge than to repeatedly fail his son that Danny lost to social services ten years ago?
Or maybe it's the weird rustling under his window.
Now Eddie, he's a survivor. He runs, yes, but that's because there's nothing to protect. His honor? Oh please.
But if there's someone trying to break into the only real home he's ever known? That's different.
He grabs an empty beer bottle that he's been intending to throw out for a week or so and heroically - and stupidly - jumps out of his window. He expects to maybe land into a bush. Do a superhero landing or something.
What he doesn't expect is a pained wheeze and "what the fuck?!" yelled by his landing zone.
Eddie scrambles back to his feet and raises the bottle. Perhaps he should have broken it first to make it more threatening? He swings it against the trailer wall and it shatters almost completely, leaving him with a small ring of glass in hand.
The figure he landed on curses again and tries to scramble back on their feet.
Eddie raises the pitiful remains of the bottle. "Uh. Stop you...you scoundrel!" he threatens, except it doesn't sound like a threat, more like a plea. "Or I'll stab you with this..." he looks at the glass ring again, "...with this."
He hopes the intruder will flee. More likely, he's going to be jumped, punched and killed. But what Eddie absolutely does not expect is the town's pretty boy, Steve Harrington, dusting his knees and glaring at Eddie with hands on hips like a pissed off soccer mom. "Jesus Christ, Munson, are you trying to wake up the whole park?" he hisses.
Eddie suddenly feels very stupid. He lets go of the broken bottle and it lands in the dirt with a quiet clink. "Harrington? Uh...dude, I mean no disrespect and all, but why are you under my window?"
Steve's look could kill. "It's Easter tomorrow, what do you think I'm doing? Hiding eggs." He points to the basket full of eggs nearby.
It makes sense. Except it doesn't. Eddie pokes the eggs and they don't explode, so at least that's good. "Why on earth would you, Steve "the Hair" Harrington, be hiding eggs in a trailer park? Don't you have like, a fancy neighborhood to do this in? With Belgian chocolate eggs and champaigne for the bored moms and stuff like that?"
Steve sighs and runs fingers through his hair. Eddie notices with a pang of guilt that it's flattened where his foot landed. That's also a good moment to realize that he's only in his boxers and a t-shirt and barefoot.
But Steve doesn't seem to notice. He just vaguely gestures around. "Those neighborhoods have committees and stuff like that. And it's normal there. Look, I don't think local kids have a lot of good stuff going on. I know one of them, and she deserves to have one day like a normal kid, no worries, no thinking if her mom can afford it. So I'm preparing an egg hunt here. Or I was, before someone half-naked dropped on top of me and shattered a bottle over a pretty good hiding spot I found."
"Shit! Sorry!" Eddie immediately starts picking up the shards, or at least tries to in the dark. At least until a large hand grabs his own.
"Christ, Munson! Stop!" Steve hisses. "Do you want to cut yourself? I will just move the egg somewhere else and pick up the glass before it starts in the morning. And for fuck's sake, stop moving! Do you want to step on a shard?"
That finally calms Eddie down. He sighs and hangs his head down. "You know, Harrington, one might think you're a good dude. If one wasn't careful."
Steve nudges his side. "One should be careful. Now come on, I will give you a boost." When Eddie stares at him, he adds: "to your window. You want to go back to sleep, no?"
Eddie clears his throat. "Actually, I was thinking I'd love to grab my sneakers and help you, I know a lot of good hiding spots. Is that cool?"
Harrington thinks for a moment, then he nods. "Yep, cool. Now, do you need a lift?"
Back in the familiar clutter of his bedroom, Eddie thinks it was a fever dream, a hallucination from a food poisoning, the final revenge of the spaghetti can.
But then he hears Harrington whisper after him: "Don't you dare come out without those sneakers, Munson! No bare feet are getting near shattered glass on my watch!"
And Eddie just snickers, leans out of the window and whispers back: "For you, big boy? I'll even wear pants!"

Brace face <3 (30th September 2024)
Katsuki Bakugou x Reader
Prompt! Y/n gets braces and attempts to hide it from everyone all day.
You spent the entire day avoiding talking. It wasn’t like you could stay completely silent—U.A. was full of lively students and relentless teachers—but you mumbled responses and gave quiet nods, hoping no one would notice. You had just gotten braces that morning, and you were feeling a mix of embarrassment and awkwardness about the shiny metal now stuck to your teeth.
You’d even skipped lunch with your friends, opting to eat in one of the quieter corners of the school. The less talking, the better, you figured.
But you were starting to regret it now.
As the afternoon rolled around, it became harder to avoid your classmates. Mina had already commented on how quiet you were being, and Kirishima kept throwing you concerned looks, but you managed to brush them off.
Of course, the one person you couldn’t brush off forever was Bakugou. He’d been giving you suspicious glares all day, his sharp eyes catching every little thing. He had a way of reading you like no one else, and it was only a matter of time before he called you out.
Finally, during the last class of the day, Bakugou took his seat next to you, his gaze immediately narrowing. You kept your head down, pretending to be focused on your notes, but you could feel the weight of his stare.
"Oi," he muttered lowly, trying to get your attention. When you didn’t respond, he kicked your chair gently with his foot. "Oi, Y/N. What the hell is wrong with you today?"
You glanced at him quickly, giving a small shrug without saying anything. You hoped he’d drop it, but this was Bakugou—he never dropped anything.
"The hell’s with the silent treatment?" he pressed, leaning closer. "You’ve been acting weird all day. What gives?"
You bit your lip, trying to think of a way to avoid answering. Instead, you just shook your head slightly and returned your gaze to the front of the room.
Bakugou wasn’t having it. His eyes narrowed even more, and you could feel him studying you intensely. "Y/N," he said in a warning tone, "don’t make me drag it outta you."
Still, you didn’t respond, keeping your lips pressed firmly together. Maybe if you could just stay quiet until class ended, you could slip away and—
Bakugou wasn’t patient. With a sudden, sharp move, he grabbed your chin and turned your face toward him. "Say something, dammit," he demanded, his red eyes blazing with frustration.
Your eyes widened in shock, but before you could stop yourself, you blurted out, "Bakugou, stop!"
It was too late. Your voice echoed in the quiet classroom, and as soon as the words left your mouth, you knew your cover was blown.
Bakugous eyes locked onto your mouth, his expression shifting from frustration to something else entirely. His grip on your chin loosened as he blinked in confusion, leaning in closer to get a better look.
"Wait..." His voice trailed off, dumbfounded, as he stared at your teeth. "What the...?"
You could feel your face heating up as you pulled away, but it was no use. The damage was done. "I got braces, okay?" you muttered, crossing your arms defensively. "That’s why I didn’t want to talk."
Bakugou stared at you for a few seconds, completely thrown off. His mouth opened as if he was going to say something, but no words came out. He just kept looking at you with that same bewildered expression, as if he couldn’t quite process what he was seeing.
Finally, he let out a short, incredulous laugh. "That’s what this was all about?" he asked, sounding almost amused. "You’ve been avoiding me all day 'cause of... braces?"
You didn’t answer, embarrassed by how silly it all seemed now. But then Bakugou surprised you by not laughing or teasing you like you expected. Instead, he rubbed the back of his neck, his gaze softening as he looked at you.
"You... you really didn’t have to hide it, y’know," he mumbled, almost awkwardly. "I mean... they’re kinda... cute."
You blinked in shock. "What?"
Bakugou’s face turned red instantly, and he scowled, turning away from you. "Tch, forget it! I didn’t say anything!"
But you’d heard him loud and clear. A small smile crept onto your face despite the awkwardness. "You think my braces are cute?"
"Shut up!" Bakugou snapped, his blush deepening. He crossed his arms and glared at the floor, refusing to meet your eyes. "I just said it’s not a big deal! Stop making it weird."
Your smile widened. The whole situation seemed ridiculous now, but Bakugou’s reaction was oddly endearing. You never expected *him* to think something like braces were cute.
"Thanks, Bakugou," you said softly, your confidence slowly returning.
He gave you a side glance, still blushing. "Yeah, whatever. Just don’t go silent on me again, got it?"
You nodded, the tension between you both easing as the bell rang, signaling the end of class. As you packed up your things, you could feel Bakugou stealing another glance at you, still clearly affected by the whole exchange.
Maybe having braces wasn’t as bad as you thought. Especially if it left Bakugou this dumbfounded.

Save Me Before I Lose Myself- part 1
Summary: save me, before i lose myself- your child is in melissa’s class, and you’re almost always late bringing your kiddo to school and picking them up, aggravating the second grade teacher. that is, until she realizes why.
WC: ~2.55k
Tumblr media
If there is one thing that Melissa Schemmenti, second grade teacher at Abbott Elementary, hates, it is parents who drop their kids off or pick them up after the allotted time. So, it’s quite safe to say that you are high up on the list of parents that the fiery redheaded teacher hates.
You’re almost always late taking your sweet little girl to school, which in turn makes you late to work. And because you’re late arriving at your job, you’re usually forced to stay a bit later at your desk job while you get reprimanded by your supervisor for your tardiness. If only those around you who hated your knack for poor timing knew why.
Everyday, you wake up next to your asshole of a wife. Everyday, it’s your job to wake up your daughter, because you know that Carrie is too hungover to do anything with your daughter- much less have the patience to handle the somehow simultaneously exhausted and excitable little one that you are blessed to have as a daughter. Everyday, you drag yourself around the house in the morning, attempting to keep up with the infectious giggles and warm hugs when you so desperately want to lay in bed and not move to prevent the aching in your bones. Everyday, your morning routine of silly tunes and cherished little kid laughs morphs into heartwrenching tears and your daughter begging for just one more hug.
Finally, you ask your little sunshine why she has such big emotions about leaving you to head to school- it’s not like she feels this way about Carrie.
“B-because!” Millie blubbers out. “Because what if I don’t get to see you again? I need momma hugs!”
Your brows furrow, and a slight frown appears on your face as the wrinkle lines in your forehead deepen. “What, baby? Why would you not see me again?”
You watch eyes that match your wife’s flit around, ensuring that Carrie is still asleep and not lurking just around the corner. Millie’s voice drops to a whisper. “Because, Momma, I know Mom’s hurting you.”
You freeze, but you try not to show your daughter that her inkling is one hundred percent true. Your mind and body finally jumpstart after an admittedly too long pause. “Honey, what would make you think that? Momma and Mom are just fine.”
Millie shakes her head adamantly and continues to cling. You allow her to before you know you have to pull away. “My love, we have to get going to school.”
“Don’t wanna,” the seven year old murmurs into the crook of your neck. “Don’t want you to not come back.”
Getting her into Abbott is more of a hassle than it usually is, what with your daughter’s mind swirling. It takes longer than usual for you to get her to the classroom, much less for you to get her to sit down. You don’t miss the glares that the redheaded teacher sends your way as you continue to assure Millie that you’ll always make it back to her.
As you finally get your little girl to settle in her seat and you make your way to leave the building to just barely make it to your job on time, you hear a voice. A deep voice that doesn’t sound too thrilled with you.
“Y/N?” Melissa calls after you. “I’d like to speak with you for a moment, if you would.” She tells you in such a tone that leaves no room for argument. Almost like a child being marched to the principal’s office, you look down at your shoes as you wait by the door for her. She ensures that all of her students are doing their morning work before leading you into the hall and closing her door so that it’s open just a crack.
“You know, Millie is an incredibly smart little girl, but if she continues to be late to school, she’s going to fall behind academically. I would hate for that to happen,” the redhead tells you sternly. “If she is tardy one more time, I have to start giving her demerits, which is not something I would like to do.”
“I understand,” you sigh softly, refusing to meet her gaze.
“She should’ve been getting them for weeks now, but I’ve held off,” your daughter’s teacher admits. “If I keep doing that though, I will be in some trouble with administration though.” You nod your head. “I also think that if Millie has such separation anxiety from you, she may benefit from saying goodbye to you at your house and coming to school with your wife.”
You bite your bottom lip. “I- I’m afraid I can’t make that one work,” you mumble.
“And why would that be?” Green eyes dare you to answer.
You know you can’t tell your child’s teacher the truth. You can’t. And if you do, or give even a small, subtle hint towards what’s been happening at home and Carrie catches wind of it, you’re fucked. “It’s just that I’m in charge of pickup and drop off.”
“Y/N,” Melissa says. “If you want to make this transition from home to school easier for your daughter, I really do think-”
“Miss Schemmenti,” you cut her off gently as you hold up a hand. “I really do have to be getting to work.”
“Very well,” the redhead sighs as her eyebrows creep up her forehead. It’s clear you’ve stunned her. “I’ll see you for pickup… on time.”
You just give her what you hope is a convincing nod. You know you won’t be on time, and you’re positive you’re going to be getting another stern talking to later in the day.
You’re forced to stay late after work, being reprimanded by your boss. Your head hangs low as you begin the walk down to your daughter’s school. And then your phone rings, and your wife’s contact lights up your screen.
“Hey,” you say softly.
“Why haven’t you picked up Millie yet?” are the first words out of Carrie’s mouth. No hello, no how are you. Just words practically spit out of her mouth.
“I’m on my way now,” you promise her quietly. “I got caught up at work.”
“Her bitch of a teacher called. Asked if I was coming since you hadn’t. Said Millie is in tears,” your wife tells you with a bite. “Maybe you should start putting more effort into your daughter than your fuckin’ job.”
It takes everything in you to not comment that perhaps it’s her who should try caring about your daughter- both of your daughter. You’ve found it more and more often she only refers to your bright little light as solely yours.
The words “I’m sorry” roll off your tongue for the first time of many today. You promise that you’re on your way to pick her up, and then you’ll be home to make dinner and settle in for the night with Millie.
When you finally get to the front steps of Abbott, you expect to see Melissa staring you down with hatred in her eyes. Instead, she’s sitting on the steps with an arm wrapped around your daughter, and she looks rather lost. Millie is beside herself as she clings to her teacher’s leather jacket. As soon as her eyes set on you, little legs race for you and tackle you in a hug with such a force that you can’t repress the groan in pain that bubbles it’s way out of your body.
“Hi, baby girl,” you whisper out as you smooth down as many of her flyaways as you can. “Hey, sweet girl.”
Millie just continues to whimper out your name as she clings to your sweater. Only once you feel that you’ve properly greeted your daughter and soothed her worries to the best of your ability do you glance at the teacher still sitting on the front stoop in front of you. The emerald eyes that usually look at you with such distain instead have an inkling of sorrow and sympathy in them.
“Miss Schemmenti, I’m so sorry I’m late,” is all you can get out. “I- I’m sorry.”
She just shakes her head sadly. “No, I’m sorry.”
Your brows furrow. That was probably the last thing you had expected to come out of her mouth. Your head tilts slightly to the side. “I beg your pardon?”
Melissa stands from her place, dusts herself off, and points towards the door. “I think we need to have a conversation in my classroom.”
“I really should be getting Mille home,” you try to protest weakly as you attempt to pry your daughter from your leg. “My wife is waiting for us, and she’s expecting dinner.”
“I’m sure she won’t mind if it’s just a bit later,” the redhead argues. “I really do think it would be best if we had this conversation today. Unless you would rather have your wife present when we speak of the matter?” Melissa knows she’s bluffing- she would never call Carrie in here, but she isn’t a poker champion without her outstanding poker face.
You freeze momentarily. She can’t call Carrie- that would not go over well for you at home tonight. “I- okay,” you agree quietly. “Just let me let her know we’ll be a bit later than she’s expecting.”
Once you’ve gotten in contact with your wife (and she is not thrilled about dinner not being on the table as early as she was expecting), you follow the redhead into the school silently. She takes a seat behind her desk and points towards a desk for you to take a seat at. Then she glances to your daughter. “Mill, why don’t you go make yourself comfortable on the bean bag and pick a good book to-”
“Melissa?” another voice rings out. It’s one that you’re familiar with. Mrs. Howard’s.
“Hey, Barb,” the second grade teacher gives a wave.
“You’re still here?”
“Meeting with a parent.”
Millie’s old kindergarten teacher gets a glance at you. “Hello, Mrs. Howard.”
“Hello, dear,” the warm voice says. “I hope you’ve been well.”
You can’t find the words, so you just nod through a tight lip.
Your daughter’s squeaky voice fills the room. “Mrs. Howard?” Little legs race for the kindergarten teacher.
“Hey, baby,” Barbara greets your daughter. “You’re still here?”
“Momma and Miss Schemmenti have a meeting. I’m reading on the carpet.”
“Well, why don’t you come join Mrs. Howard while they talk about boring grown up things?”
You cut in softly when your daughter lights up at the thought. “I’m sure Mrs. Howard has things to get home to, Millie.”
“Oh, please,” Barbara chuckles. “All I have at home is a husband waiting for dinner. He’ll understand if I’m late because I wanted to spend some time with one of my favorite former students.” She takes your daughter’s hand and leads her out of the room and down the hall. While you feel bad for putting your daughter off on your daughter’s former teacher, you’re entirely unaware of the fact that Melissa had orchestrated that little stunt earlier at lunch today to get you alone. And absolutely willing to help, Barbara agreed.
With your daughter no longer in the presence of the classroom, Melissa turns to you again. “Y/N, I wanted to speak with you about something concerning Millie told me today.”
Your blood runs cold. You know where this is going. Still though, you pretend to be unaware. “And that would be?”
“Well, once Millie calmed down from drop off this morning, I asked her why she always comes into school so upset when she very clearly loves being here once she’s settled in.” You nod along. “She told me that she was worried one day you wouldn’t come back to her.”
“Yes, I’m aware of this,” you tell her. “And we’re working through it.”
“I normally wouldn’t pull a parent into my room for something like that, because it isn’t necessarily uncommon for kiddos her age to have those fears. But-“
“But?”
“But when you were late picking her up, which I normally would hate-”
“I’ll pick her up on time from now on,” you state, fully knowing that you will be getting into so much trouble with your boss. But, Millie comes first, and you can always finish your hours from home if necessary.
“That is also not why I brought you in here,” the teacher tells you. “When you were later than usual, Millie burst into tears. I told her I would call you, but you didn’t answer.”
“I was in a meeting with my boss,” you sigh.
“And then she really went off,” Melissa whispers. “Crying about how you weren’t coming back for her because ‘Mom did it’.”
“I- I don’t know what she could possibly mean by that,” you stammer out.
“I think you do,” Melissa sighs as she runs a nervous hand through her hair. “But, continuing, I called Carrie to ask if she was going to come get your daughter. She- she was not very happy to receive a call from me.”
“I’m aware,” you mumble.
“I gotta say, she was not very pleasant,” your daughter’s second grade teacher says. “Definitely the opposite of you. Told me to go to hell for even insinuating that she would come get your daughter.”
“I’m sorry,” you mutter. “She- she’s- I’m sorry.”
“That’s not the most concerning part about all of this,” Melissa sighs out. She bites her bottom lip. “When I asked Millie if everything was okay at home… If I thought she was crying before, damn.” You can’t find it in you to say anything in response, so you stay silent. “Millie told me that Carrie hurts you. That she’s always terrified of leaving you and then you not coming back because she’s killed you- that’s what she meant when she said ‘Mom did it’.”
“You’ve- you’ve met my little girl,” you say as evenly as you can, even attempting a chuckle. You refuse to meet the redhead’s eyes. “She’s got quite the imagination on her.”
“Millie told me that she hears the two of you late at night, when you think she’s asleep. She knows what’s happening, or at least thinks she knows.”
“We’ll- I’ll have a conversation with her tonight about how her mother and I are fine- that nothing is-”
“Y/N,” Melissa cuts you off. “I’m going to ask you, just this once, is Carrie abusing you?” The way that the woman in front of you asks the question tells you she already knows the answer.
You freeze in the chair you’re sitting in. Your right legs stops bouncing, you stop twiddling your thumbs, you even stop breathing for a few seconds. You weigh your options: fold and tell her that things are… rocky (an understatement) between you and your wife but assure her that Millie is fine, or run.
You don’t get to make a decision, because before you know it, Millie is racing into the room, Barbara Howard not far behind. And your little girl yanks off your sweater to reveal a canvas of purple, yellow, and green going up your arms. And in that moment, you know… you’re fucked.

Best Enemies | Huang Renjun
Summary: Renjun makes your life a living hell - but you can't keep your hands off him.
Genre: Enemies to lovers, High school AU, Jock!Renjun
Word count: <1k
Tumblr media
As soon as Renjun’s hand shot up in the air, you knew you were in trouble.
“Sir,” he said, “I can’t focus.” His eyes slid towards you. “Y/n keeps… trying to touch my leg with her foot.”
A groan spread through the class, and you heard the words ‘class slut’ pass through people’s lips.
“Come on, sir” you said dryly. “You and I both know not to believe anything Renjun says."
“Look… I know you have a thing for me, but this is taking it too far,” Renjun sighs, his eyes crinkling in the faintest smile.
Everything from his hair gel to the football jersey he wore even when he wasn't exercising sweated smugness.
“I wouldn’t touch that with a ten foot pole,” you muttered, so only Renjun could hear.
The teacher told everyone to get back to their work - but you weren’t finished.
The second Renjun turned back to his work, you slid off your chair, making a loud crash as it hit the ground.
“Hey! What the hell?” you cried, looking at Renjun with shock on your face. “I’m sorry, okay, but there’s no need to be violent!”
Bright red started spreading from the roots of Renjun’s hair down his face. “I didn’t - sir!”
The teacher told him sternly to be quiet, which you loved.
It was silent.
The battle was over.
Finally, you thought, Renjun would leave you alone.
Until, just a few minutes before the end of class, you heard his stupid voice sing out over the classroom.
“Can you just stop?” he said.
Your eyes narrowed. You didn’t have much in the way of popularity to lose, but you loved Maths, and you had annoyed your teacher enough already.
“Oh no… what have I done?” you said in a monotone.
“I will not…” Renjun started, his whole face swelling with glee, “sign your bra!”
You had no idea when you lost your temper. Suddenly, you were bunching the thin fabric of Renjun’s jersey in your fists. You were forcing his body back against the desk.
He grabbed you back, almost lifting you up with his strength.
You felt a flicker of fear. Renjun was stronger than you’d expected. You were almost ready to accept defeat.
That was when the strangest thing happened. You felt a jolt of energy run through you, and suddenly, you had the upper hand.
It was exhilarating to have his body in your hands, to be able to crush him the way you constantly fantasised about. You had power over him, and it was excellent. Although your arms were burning, you felt like laughing.
“You’re so done!” Renjun growled in your ear.
---
“We’re so done,” you groaned, as you slid onto the floor of the sports supply closet. The room was a mess. You moved a cricket ball out from under your butt.
“Look, it's your fault we're in detention,” Renjun snapped, dribbling a ball across the floor.
“Are you kidding?” you said. “You were the one who called the teacher in the first place!”
Renjun slid onto the floor next to you. You stiffened, but he made no move to hurt you.
You tried to ignore how much you wanted to fight Renjun again, to feel his muscles straining to resist you. His body was so close.
“Why are you sitting down?” you snapped. “One of us has to clean the damn place, and it isn’t gonna be me.”
“Well, it’s sure as hell not gonna be me,” Renjun said.
You glared at each other.
Then, you remembered something, and reached into your pocket.
“Let’s flip a coin,” you said. “If you lose, Renjun, you have to clean up everything.”
Renjun added, his eyes glinting sharply, “And if you lose, Y/n, you have to clean up everything… and kiss me.”
Blood forced its way through your arteries, making them swell painfully.
Up went the coin, time slowing as it glinted in the electric light, and as it fell, Renjun called, “Heads!”
You flipped the coin onto your wrist.
Heads.
“I guess I have to clean up now,” you said, a smirk spreading over your face.
“And?” Renjun said.
You pushed him onto the ground, straddling him with your legs. Your hair fell over his face.
“And…” you whispered, as you leaned down towards him. “I have to kiss you.”

He’s Just Not That Into You
pairing:  jordan li x reader
summary: a hopeless romantic, you keep looking for love in all the wrong places, with all the wrong guys. that is, until you meet jordan li, who takes pity on you and tries to help you learn when a guy just isn’t into you.
Tumblr media Tumblr media

“You good?”
"Huh?" Dazed and drifting, you look up from your incredibly important task of peeling off the label for the worst tasting artisanal beer ever created.
You quickly remember why you focused on the task in the first place. The lighting at this party sucks. It's mostly dim, to try and hide all the unsavory things happening in every corner of the house. The brightest bits of it are all flashing. Neon blue. Neon red. Neon green. As if anyone has ever looked good in neon green lighting. That plus the never-ending movement of people dancing is enough to make you sick.
"Are you good or are you starting to tweak?" Your eyes adjust enough to see who's talking and you sit up straighter. Jordan Li. Number #2.
She's wearing her ever present scowl that makes you study extra hard in Brink's class. You don't ever want to be in the position to have to ask for clarification on an assignment or further guidance. Brink's so busy being renowned that he's a pretty absent teacher, if you're not one of his favorites. Everything menial falls to Jordan.
"I'm good! Totally good. Just vibing, y'know."
Jordan stares down at you, looks back out onto the sea of partygoers, "What vibe do you think you're matching?"
“Excuse me?”
"You've been sitting here for almost twenty minutes. You've barely moved. Did you take something?"
"No! I.... I didn't take anything. I'm just enjoying the atmosphere."
Jordan rolls her eyes, takes the beer bottle from your hand, and then takes your hand itself. She pulls you to your feet, easy, despite the way you go limp at the last second to try and stay seated. Without a word she begins to pull you through the crowd. Bewildered, you follow.
She doesn't stop till you're outside on the porch. Surprisingly, no one else is lingering. But the air has a chill that's pretty biting for an early day in fall. You take a deep breath. You hadn't realized how loud the music really was. How overwhelming every smell. The itch that crawled across your skin with each jostle of a body coming too near.
"Yeah, you look like you were really enjoying the atmosphere." Jordan drawls, leaned up against the railing, observing you.
Your first instinct was to say 'fuck you' to that, obviously. But at the last second you remember she is your TA and is probably doing all the actual grading for every assignment you turn in.
You force a smile, "Thank you. Guess I was feeling pretty anxious."
"What are you even doing here?"
"Should... I mean, I was... invited? If that's what you're asking. Although I think crashing parties is pretty typical college stuff, even if I wasn't-"
“Not what I meant.” Jordan interrupts, “I mean you don’t usually go to parties. I never see you at any of them.”
“Maybe we just run in different circles.”
“Not really. You’re in the top ten now. What did you jump to, number 6?”
“Seven, actually.”
“Really? Well, won’t be long. Number 6 is a dick. He’ll be easy to knock out with the type of stats you’re pulling this year.”
Somehow, this compliment bewilders you more than anything. Jordan must see it on your face, because she rolls her eyes again.
“I keep an eye on the competition. Even if you are just a sophomore.”
“Okay, Junior.” You narrow your eyes at her. She narrows hers back, which feels like overkill, because she was already glaring.
“So, what are you doing here?”
“Did they hire you to be the bouncer for this party?”
“Jesus, ‘m just making conversation. You looked like you were gonna hurl in there. What? Did your friends drag you here then ditch you?”
“My friends would never do that. That violates the party safety rule. Arrive together, leave together.”
“Oh of course.” She says, nodding in a way that feels sarcastic.
“I actually came without my friends.” You say, standing up straighter. Proud of yourself for stepping out of your shell even if it ended on a sour note.
“You did?” Jordan raises an eyebrow. You deflate a little at the shocked tone. Even your TA thinks you’re lame.
“Well…. I was supposed to meet someone here. But they… I dunno, I must’ve missed them. Or whatever.”
“Who were you supposed to meet?”
You hesitate for a second, but they impatiently gesture for you to go on. So, begrudgingly you admit to, “Uuuuh… Andre?”
“Andre?” In the blink of an eye they shift, and take a step closer. As if he wants you to see the disbelief on his face as clearly as possible. “How do you know Andre?”
“What happened to we run in the same circle?” You snap back. “Andre’s top ten.”
“Andre’s a fucking nepo baby.” Jordan scoffs
“Aren’t you friends?” You frown.
“Andre barely shows up to class, he knows why he’s top ten, trust me.” Jordan says. “Andre invited you?”
“Yes, Andre invited me. We were at the club last week and you know…talked.”
“You were at the club? You’re changing it up like crazy this year, huh L/N?”
“Lot of good it’s doing me.” You sigh. You twist the sleeve of your top, wrinkling the fabric. You’d spent hours picking out the perfect outfit that looked like you weren’t trying too hard, but brought out all your best features.
Jordan’s face twists, you’d almost mistake it for sympathy, “Did you see Andre at all tonight?”
“Did he come here with you?”
“Would you like me to lie or tell you the truth?”
You sigh, moving to sit down on the porch steps, emotionally and socially exhausted. “It’s okay, I already know the answer.”
A moment of silence before Jordan moves to sit beside you. He offers back up the beer he took from you earlier, “You look like you could use a drink.”
“Eh, you have it. If you’re not a germaphobe. Thanks for rescuing me.”
Jordan shrugs, takes a sip and almost spits it right back out, “God it tastes like fucking piss.”
“You weren’t very nice to me during the rescue, so you didn’t deserve a warning.”
“Well fuck me, I guess.” He laughs, staring at you. He let’s out a sigh of his own, “So which line did he use?”
“Huh?”
“What did Andre say to you?”
“He didn’t use a line.” You protest.
“Andre doesn’t know how to do anything but use a line. Wait! Lemme guess,” Jordan looks you up and down before glancing at a few rings on your hand. “Were you wearing those?”
You stare back at him.
“Well?”
“Yes, I was, why?”
“Did he come up to you with one of them and ask if you dropped it?”
“.....Maybe. I repeat, why?” You ask, stomach twisting.
“Cause he slipped it off your finger with his powers so he’d have an opening. It’s his go to for girls that look shy. Seen it a million times.”
“Oh, well, that’s lovely, actually. Fuck me!” You groan, laying back against the steps and throwing your hands over your face. “You’re really good at comforting people, did you know that?”
“I’ve been told to work on it.”
“Clearly not enough.”
“Just didn’t want you to fall for the bullshit any more than you already have.”
You scrub your face harshly, trying to ignore the tightness in your throat. “Sorry. Do you like apples? I can put a nice shiny one on your desk Monday morning as a thank you for the solid.”
“Are you about to cry?” Jordan asks, bewildered.
“No.”
“Over Andre Anderson?”
“No!” You sit up, glaring at him. He glares back. “Not exactly. It’s just… I don’t put myself out there a lot. So it sucks. That I tried… and all I got was a guy who fed me a line he’s used a million different times on a million different girls, who then ditched me at a party he invited me to. I should’ve just fucking stayed home.”
You sniffle and then remember who you’re actually talking to and how awkward it’s going to be to see their face Monday morning for class if you keep spilling your guts. You stand up abruptly, already planning on apologizing for whatever you said while you were “drunk” tonight. You’re opening your mouth to make your excuses, already taking steps away from the stairs when Jordan reaches out, grabbing you gently by the wrist.
“Wait! I’m… sorry, I mean-”
“Why are you sorry?” You sniff, “You didn’t do anything wrong.”
“I could’ve… I could’ve been nicer. About telling you. About Andre.” Jordan pulls you to sitting back down beside him, slowly, so you can pull away if you really wanted to.
“It’s okay. I should’ve known better.” You say quietly.
“Hey, no. I made it sound like he’s super obvious about it but he’s honestly pretty smooth. His only hobbies are picking up girls and cocaine. He could make… fucking, I dunno, Ellen Ripley blush if he had the prep time! It’s really not your fault.” The comment surprises a wet laugh out of you and Jordan smiles, bumping your shoulders together.
“Thanks, but he probably was obvious. I just… don’t see stuff like that coming very well.” You laugh bitterly.
“What do you mean?”
“I apparently just can’t tell for shit when a guy is actually into me! Or just… entertaining himself.” You sigh.
You and Jordan sit in silence for a second. You have no clue what’s going on in his head. You see him tapping his finger on the beer bottle, the sound of his rings the only noise for a moment.
“I could help you.”
“Help me what?”
“I could teach you how to spot when a guy is just being an asshole or when he’s serious about you. So this doesn’t happen again.” Jordan shrugs, taking another swallow of the beer, flinching again at the taste.
“Piss kink or short term memory loss?”
“Offer retracted.” Jordan laughs.
“Why are you offering in the first place?”
Jordan shrugs, looking out in the distance, “You’re… cool, y’know. Think of it as a welcome to the top ten gift. You’re only gonna get more and more attention now that you’re there. You’ll need to be able to sniff out bullshit or you’ll get eaten alive. No offense.”
“I’ve been in the top ten for the last six months.” You scowl.
“Mazel tov.”
“Dick.” You scoff, fighting back another laugh. You and Jordan make eye contact and both lose the battle, laughing together.
You take a deep breath once the fit passes, “This isn’t a top ten humiliation ritual of initiation thing, right?”
“I’m way too busy to waste my time doing stupid shit like that.” Jordan says, familiar glare falling back onto his face.
“Sorry, rough night, had to ask.” You say sheepishly. “Offer still open?” You smile, extending your hand out for a handshake.
“Yeah, offers still open, L/N.” Jordan rolls his eyes, but he does shake your hand.
Tumblr media
“So, number’s one pretty obvious but we have to establish the basics because you told me you were hopeless.” Jordan sips her chocolate milkshake.
“Didn’t use the word hopeless, but sure.” You mutter, tossing a fry into your mouth and frowning at the lack of flavor. “Hit me.”
“If he calls off plans with you all the time he’s not interested. If he doesn’t give you as much heads up as humanly possible before he has to cancel a plan or bail then he might actually hate you.”
“You’re exaggerating.” You scoff, shaking extra salt onto your fries.
Jordan reaches over, stealing one of your now delicious fries to dip it into her milkshake. “It’s a type of power play. Too many reasons to name why a guy might feel the need to pull something like that but we don’t wanna get too complicated. All you need to do is memorize the red flags and run when you see them.”
“Okay…. follow up question, what would you consider to be ‘all the time’?”
“If you just started seeing each other and he cancels two dates in a row without desperately trying to make it up to you he doesn’t give a shit.” Jordan steals and dips another of your fries.
“What about emergencies? Like… I dunno, a funeral? What if his Aunt died? So he cancels that one date. Then the next one he tries to plan his car breaks down or something, you know?”
“He should call an uber and get to the fucking location of the date come hell or high water. That’s what a guy who likes you is gonna do. Don’t over complicate, L/N.”
“Oh and you don’t think you’re over-complicating the process of eating my fries?” You smack at her hand as it reaches for your plate for the umpteenth time during this lunch. “You could have ordered fries. Why didn’t you order fries?”
“Didn’t want any until I saw yours.” She tries again but you see the movement coming and block her hand, again. You did not notice the second, slightly sneakier hand that does successfully carry out the theft.
“Did you just juke me over a fry?
“Yeah, and I won.”
You toss a fry at her and laugh when she manages to catch it with her mouth. Asshole.
Tumblr media
You sit on the corner of Jordan’s desk, watching as he finishes up some last minute work that Brink asked him to do before heading out. You’d offered to meet back up later but he just shook his head and said it wouldn’t take long.
“What if he’s just a private person?” You ask, kicking your feet lightly.
Jordan looks up from his laptop and frowns at you, “Why are you trying to invent exceptions to the rules? The rules are there to help you. Can you say that for me, L/N? Can you say the rules are there to help me?”
“The rules are there to help me.” You repeat back, mocking their tone.
“Thank you.” Jordan smirks at you, “Like I said, if he’s hiding your relationship from the world then he’s not serious about you. He should be introducing you to people. You should be on his social media. People should not be shocked you exist when meeting you. All that bullshit.”
“And if they’re a private person?” You challenge.
Jordan pushes away his laptop, turning to face you. “Fuck me. The types of guys you’re gonna be around as a hero are all gonna be doing the same stuff as you. There’s gonna be a certain level of our life that’s always in the spotlight. Minimum of two posts a week if he’s constantly posting in general.”
“I don’t post very much.” You counter.
“You should be posting more. Especially as a top ten. There’s no reason you shouldn’t be number 6 right now. You need to be more active on socials.” Jordan gives you a look before going back to typing. Two weeks ago that look would have put you on the verge of tears. Now you roll your eyes.
“I’ll think about it.”
“It was an order as your TA, actually.”
“Oh god, an order? I’m shaking in my boots.” You tease, playfully kicking his chair.
“That just knocked your essay from a B- to a C, congratulations.” Jordan quips.
“You were gonna mark my essay a B-, you dick? You know damn well I don’t turn in B- work. Who do you think-”
The rest of the afternoon is lost to playful outrage. The papers get graded late. Yours comes back an A+. No one besides you has gotten a grade of + anything since Jordan became TA.
Tumblr media
“Okay, so this is one with a grey area.” Jordan says.
“Oh no.”
“Shut up. If he never gets jealous that’s a red flag.”
“But-” You sit up from where you’re laid out on the blanket you threw on the ground to better soak in the last warm rays of September sun.
“I am not saying go out with some overly possessive fucking maniac.” Jordan cuts you off.
“Be specific, Jordan. You can’t give me rules with built in exceptions. I’ll fail. Is that what you want? You want me to fail, Jordan? That’s messed up-”
“Shut up-” Jordan laughs, shaking her head. “Listen to me, if a guy never gets jealous he just doesn’t care at all. The most namaste, enlightened dude on the planet will get jealous in the right situation. I’m not saying tolerate anything crazy. It’s just good if he like… responds, when you say you’re going to study alone with another dude at 9pm, in the guy’s dorm... while his roommate is gone.”
“Is studying alone with another dude, in his dorm while his roommate is gone, okay as long as it ends before 9pm?”
Jordan rips out grass from the ground and tries to sprinkle it onto your face. You put up a force-field and laugh when she sticks her tongue out.
Tumblr media
“He’s gotta give you his full attention. When he’s with you, he’s with you. Everyone gets distracted. But if his head is always somewhere else, every time you see him, he just doesn’t like you.” Jordan swipes at your head, fast enough to be a challenge to dodge but not hard enough to hurt you had the hit connected.
You go in for a kick yourself and he practically twirls out of the way. You try twice more, managing to evade his own hits just barely.
Breathlessly, you gesture for a time out and Jordan sighs, “We gotta get you better at hand to hand.”
“That’s what my shields are for.”
“The way you use your shields is really good. You’ve gotten a lot more creative this year. It’s why you’ve been jumping ranks so fast. You’re powerful.”
The earnest tone he uses makes you lift up from the hunched over position of misery on your knees, “You think so?”
“Well…. yeah.” He clears his throat. “But you can’t get lazy. What if someone wears you out and you don’t have any energy left for them? No more shields. You need to be able to fight.”
“If I don’t have any energy left for my shields and my only option left is hand to hand combat, respectfully, it’s my time.”
Jordan rolls his eyes, “Break’s over. Back in position, stay on your toes more so it’s easier to move, okay?”
You’re about to get back into form when you hear calls of Jordan’s name from across the arena. You turn and see Luke and Cate coming over, wide grins on their faces. You give them a small wave and they both wave back, incredibly eager.
You’ve always been friendly with one another but the strength of enthusiasm is… strange. Enough to make you blink in surprise.
“Thought you said you were super booked up this week doing stuff for Brink? Absolutely no free time.” Cate asks, staring Jordan down.
“This isn’t free time. I can’t slack on hand to hand combat training. It’s important.” Jordan stares Cate down even harder.
“Why didn’t you ask me?” Luke asks casually.
“Jordan saw my form in a video I just posted and apparently it was ‘despicable’ and ‘the most insane way he’d ever seen anyone do that before’. He rushed over to show me what the ‘right way to do it is’. Control freak.” You fake a cough as you say the last part.
“You were gonna hurt your back!”
“Super healing.”
“Super herniated disc.” Jordan quips back and you scoff, shoving him.
He shoves you back with an eye roll, fighting back a smile.
“How ungentlemanly of you.” You gasp. A shift, and she shoves you again making you laugh, “and unladylike!”
“You shoved me first!”
“Children, please try and be civil we’re in public.” Luke cuts in and you almost jump at the sound of his voice.
It’s easy to get lost in your own world when you’re with Jordan. You turn to be politely facing your classmates and not just Jordan, wearing a sheepish smile.
“Stop teasing them. They’re cute.” Cate smiles.
“Anyways, you guys need something?” Jordan asks.
“We can’t just hang out? Are you trying to get rid of your best friends?” Luke asks.
“Yes.”
“Jordan!” You bump her with your elbow.
“Okay, okay. We’ll leave you alone. Wanna grab lunch with us after though?” Cate asks, looping her arm through Luke’s.
“You feeling up to lunch, L/N?” Jordan looks over at you.
With three unexpected pairs of eyes on you, you fluster. “If you go easy on me for the rest of training, yes.”
“Not a chance.” Jordan snorts. “We’ll be there though. Now scram. L/N needs a lot of help.”
“No, I fucking do not!” You protest.
The two of you don’t notice Luke and Cate walking away trading looks.
Tumblr media
“When you don’t know really know anything about him, it’s not a good sign.” Jordan tilts the bowl of popcorn towards you.
“And what do you mean, specifically, by knowing anything about him?” You ask, taking some pieces and throwing them back.
“Has has ever shared his feelings? Talked about his personal life? If you don’t know anything besides the superficial stuff he doesn’t care about you.” Jordan states. “You also need to look out for him not knowing anything about you. Does he give you space to open up? Does he remember the shit you do tell him?”
“Got it, so just look out for the superficial surface level conversations if you never have any deeper moments.” You say.
“Exactly.” Jordan says before her eyes snap back to the screen suddenly. “Did they say they’re gonna try and make that house feel more ‘open concept’? What the fuck is their problem?”
“Huh?” You look back to Jordan’s TV, which is playing Property Brothers. “You got a problem against open concept?”
“I have a problem with every house being made to look the same, inside and out. It’s bad enough new houses don’t have unique floor plans. Now we’re taking houses that were unique and fucking them up till they’re boring! What ever happened to individuality? I bet they’ll paint the walls grey too. Fuck me.” She huffs, leaning back against the couch.
“Are you really into this show or just really into design patterns?” You ask, charmed at her passion for something completely random.
“A bit of both.” Jordan says. “I wanted to be an architect. Before I got my powers.”
“Shut up! No, you did not.”
“I did.” She laughs, “I used to draw up plans and torment my parents with them every hour of the day.”
You spend the rest of the afternoon talking about your hidden passions.
You even get the honor of seeing a few of the sketches Jordan made years ago. They were crinkled at the edges, pencil markings dull with age in some places. You smiled down at the folder Jordan keeps the drawings in. When you look up, finally, to compliment them you notice a strange look on Jordan’s face.
Thinking you’d made her self conscious with your long silence you wrapped an arm around her and told her she would have made a hell of an architect. And probably killed someone with the utter lack of load bearing beams in her structures.
You expected her to shove you off playfully but she only leaned into you and smiled, flipping to the next page of the folder.
When you get back to your own dorm room, moon high in the sky, you have to stifle a laugh. The latest post on Jordan’s Instagram is a picture of you standing with your hands on your hips in the middle of their room, looking baffled.
The caption: I handed her the remote and walked away for five minutes. We’ve been looking for almost an hour #jesus christ #banned from room 4ever.
You step out into the hallway and call Jordan up, demanding they take down their character assassination attempt because you two only looked for 26 minutes, actually.
They refuse.
You’re so incensed by the exaggeration that you wind up back outside Jordan’s dorm room not ten minutes later. When she opens the door, and sees you standing there, she bursts into laughter. She drags you inside, and when you ask her when the ban got lifted she just throws you on the bed. You spend the rest of the night arguing semantics.
Tumblr media
You and Jordan were sitting in the ground floor of the school’s library where you were allowed to talk quietly. You were teaching them how to fold paper to make little stars while they were teaching you how to make the perfect paper airplane.
“Are you filled with barely suppressed rage? Why is it so damn wrinkled?” You laugh at their mangled star.
Jordan grabs another piece of paper with a huff, pushing her bob back behind her ears. “You are shit at giving instructions. This is impossible. Do the steps slower again.”
“I’m sorry, I’m actually not capable of slowing myself down times 3 like a Youtube video.” You tease.
“Fuck you.” Jordan kicks you under the table with her foot. “Again. Show me.”
“You start with this corner here, then you twist it over here, next you wanna-”
“Hey! Hey! What’s up people!” You and Jordan turn in perfect sync to hiss at the person to be quiet only to find that person to be Andre Anderson.
You turn back towards the table, Jordan moves an arm to curl around the back of your chair.
“Hey.” Jordan says flatly. You make some noise that you hope passes for a greeting.
“Sorry, too loud. So this is where the party is, huh? What’re you two doing?” Andre grabs a chair on the opposite side of the table and you frown, focusing intensely on the paper before you.
“Don’t you have a class right now?” Jordan asks sharply.
“Blowing it off.” Andre grins back.
Jordan scoffs. You only notice your shoulders are practically up to your ears when Jordan puts her hand there and rubs. You relax, letting out a quiet breath you were holding. Jordan gives you a squeeze.
“Awww, you making little stars? Cute. Wanna show me how, F/N?” Andre has the nerve to sound flirtatious.
After ditching you without a word and radio silence to back it up. To really make sure there’s insult to match the injury. You clench your jaw. Keep moving your hands. Try to zone out.
The hand on your shoulder gets bigger and so does the thigh that brushes against yours under the table. “Could you fuck off for a bit? We’re trying to relax after our exams this morning.”
“Ouch. Didn’t know you couldn’t relax with me around, man.” Andre bites back. “F/N, you want me to stay, don’t you?”
You get up from the table abruptly. The sudden sting in your eyes doesn’t even allow you you to collect your things. Your chest feels tight. You have to just get out of here. You hope in a school of future superheroes no one will steal your stuff. You think you hear calls of your name from behind you. Some yelling. Your ears are ringing too much. You break into a sprint.
You can’t even make it to your dorm. You have to settle for tucking yourself into the first patch of trees behind a building you can find. You try to fight back the tears. One breathe. Two. Three. Try to focus on the birds chirping somewhere above you. But the memories are all flooding in at once and you start to cry. Heaving, chest burning sobs.
“F/N. F/N. F/N, hey look at me.” You zone back into the world to Jordan pushing your hair away from your face and you sob.
“Fuck me, I’ll kill him. I’m sorry. I didn’t know you’d get so upset. You seemed like you didn’t care after that night… I-  I’ll fucking knock his teeth in.” Jordan hisses. You’d thought you’d seen them angry before. But their face has never looked like this.
“What’s… are you having a panic attack?” Jordan asks, still petting your hair gently. You manage to nod. “Is touching you okay? Is it making it worse?” You push yourself into his hands and without another word he pulls you into his lap, tucking you against him.
You notice absently he’s wearing his favorite jacket and try to shift, so that you’re not getting tears and snot onto the fabric. He pushes your head back against his shoulder, shushing you gently. You let yourself relax, letting out the rest of the tears. Letting the anxiety leave your body. You start your grounding techniques as your breathing evens. You can see the sharp cut of Jordan’s jaw. Hear his heartbeat. The birds chirping. Feel his hands as they rub soothing circles into your skin. Smell the cologne he wears. You tuck yourself closer, even though no more tears are coming.
“Andre is a fucking loser.” Jordan says, quietly but vehemently, “You shouldn’t waste a second fucking thinking about him. He doesn’t care about anyone but himself. It’s not you. It’s just who he is.”
“It’s not just Andre… It’s… it’s not even mostly Andre.” You say quietly. “I mean he’s a dick but… it just brings up memories.”
“Memories?” Jordan echoes softly, and you know you don’t have to tell him anything but you want to.
“When I was younger… I was even more of a wall flower than I am now. Shocker, I know.” You try to joke, Jordan only hums to let you know he’s listening, pulling you closer. “Even though I had powers I wasn’t popular or anything. I had trouble controlling them. Not enough to be dangerous… just enough to be… well, a loser, honestly. Because of my anxiety, and how loud my head gets my force-fields would just pop out whenever. I couldn’t stop it. If I was scared. If I got nervous. If I was feeling stupid, or ugly. All the time. People called me bubble girl.”
“I learned to just keep to myself but I was such an easy, fun target. Sneak up on the mouse and watch them jump and make a bubble! Fun!” You laugh bitterly. You think you feel Jordan kiss the top of your head, but you’re still out of it. “It made even getting out of bed to go to school hard. Administration wouldn’t take it serious as bullying because I was a supe: if I wanted it to stop I should defend myself.”
“My parents felt the same way. Wouldn’t let me transfer. But I didn’t want to fight back. I didn’t want to turn myself into something I’m not just to be left alone! I didn’t want to hurt anyone. I thought eventually everyone would get bored, mature a little. But it just got worse and worse every fucking year. Senior year was… bad, though. I was getting better at controlling my powers so what kids would do to make me react was worse. But I just ignored it. I started just… pulling into myself. Whenever anyone would pour paint on my favorite outfit. Or cut my hair. Or hit me, I’d make the bubble in my head instead, and go there. Eventually, towards the end I thought people finally got bored, they stopped fucking with me as much. I thought I’d be able to graduate in peace.”
“There was this one boy… he was popular. But he’d always been nice to me. He smiled at me in the hallways. Would help me up if people shoved me when he was around. He even gave me his sweater once, when someone cut up my shirt during gym. His friends were dicks but I thought he was different, I thought he was nice.”
“He suddenly started being even more nice to me. It felt… when he asked me to prom I just wanted to be normal for one second. I should have known. I probably did know. I just wanted to pretend, for five seconds, I wanted to pretend.” You trail off, lost in the memory.
“What happened?” Jordan asks, voice sounding hoarse. You try to pull back to see what’s wrong but he keeps you still. You realize he started rocking the both of you as you spoke. You didn’t realize how soothing it was.
“It was a joke, obviously. We went to go shopping together, so we’d match, he told me. When we got to the shop he insisted we go to all his friends were waiting for us. Recording, of course. They all laughed at me. I still remember what one girl said, ‘you’re more crazy than we thought if you honestly ever believed someone like him would go out with a loser like you’.”
“F/N, those people were fucking assholes. They… god what the fuck is wrong with people. That’s not true.” Jordan makes you look at him, suddenly. You’re shocked that his eyes are red. “You’re not a fucking loser.”
“It’s okay, Jordan. I know they were just assholes. I always knew. It just hurts still. I’ve… I’ve avoided dating ever since, obviously. My first kiss wasn’t even romantic. It was just with a good friend that I knew wouldn’t make fun of me. So I could get it out of the way.”
“I’m sorry.” Jordan looks helpless, like he wants to do something but doesn’t know what.
“You didn’t do anything, Jordan. No need to say sorry.”
“And then Andre went and fucking… fucking motherfucker I’ll kill him!” Jordan snaps, goes to stand up and then remembers he’s holding you halfway. He sits back down, grip a little tighter, but still gentle.
“It’s okay. It wasn’t even a joke, what Andre did. He’s just… inconsiderate. And I happen to have a nasty experience that makes me blow everything out of proportion. I’ll have to get used to that kind of thing if I want to actually start dating.”
Suddenly both of Jordan’s hands are on your face, holding you still so you have to look at him. “You’re not blowing anything out of proportion. And… and you don’t have to get used to shit, F/N. You’re fucking incredible. You don’t need to tolerate anything, from fucking anyone. You’re a fucking… you’re a fucking dream girl! You’re smart, and funny, and sweet, and strong, and beautiful. You’re the sweetest person I’ve ever met. You don’t have to settle for fucking anything. Okay?”
You stare up at him, shocked, he gives your head a gentle shake, “Okay?” You nod slowly.
He pulls you into another hug, the tightest one you’ve ever gotten. You don’t pull away until the sun dips so low you’re both draped in gold.
Tumblr media
“Fucking rank number fucking 5!” Jordan screams, arm wrapped around you tightly. A chorus of cheers from the rest of the group and people nearby.
You cover your face, laughing helplessly. Jordan didn’t surprise you with this party, they knew that would only make you anxious, walking into a room full of people you weren’t expecting to see with (even if asked not to) cameras pointed at you.
Jordan had texted you: I am throwing you a surprise party on Friday night to celebrate your new ranking. Please practice your surprised face.
You had practiced. You’d done a very convincing gasp when you walked in.
“I’m so fucking proud of you.” Jordan says, for the umpteenth time, looking at you. You feel your cheeks go hot.
“Oh shut up. I’ll get a big head soon.”
“You deserve it more than anyone. You’re fucking awesome.” Jordan had started heaping more praise onto you than you knew what to do with, most days.
She claimed it was practically training. That you needed to get used to people complimenting you, with the level of fame you’re going to reach. That alone had made your stomach erupt into butterflies. Jordan believed in you. Really believed in you.
“You’re the one who’s awesome… you’re a good mentor, Jordan.” You reach up to hold the hand that’s been wrapped around your shoulder all evening.
“Are you saying that following my advice works?” Jordan pretends to gasp. You playfully dig your nails into her side and she jumps before grabbing the offending hand and holding onto it. She doesn’t let go.
Her advice had worked. You posted on your social media more, at her insistence. You started to become a beast at hand to hand, thanks to Jordan’s brutal training regimen. You were socializing more, because as long as Jordan was there you felt safe. But you were even feeling confident enough to do things on your own that high school you would be shocked didn’t instantly send you to the grave.
You’d done an interview, for God’s sake! All on your own. Although your eyes kept darting to Jordan right off camera, who smiled reassuringly the whole time.
“I will not. Because then you’ll get a big head.” You tease, giving both her hands a squeeze.
“Let’s get a drink.” Jordan says, tugging you towards the kitchen.
It’s quieter in the kitchen. The drink table in the living room is still overflowing so no one’s had to start looking for leftovers yet.
“How you feeling?” Jordan asks, helping you sit on the counter before going to the fridge. After a second he pulls out your favorite. He hid them in the far back, you can tell by how far he had to lean.
“Good.” You smile as he pops your drink open before handing it to you. He leans against one of your knees.
“Party isn’t too much, right?” He asks, for the third time tonight.
Laughing you push a strand of unruly hair back from his face. He freezes at the touch, before a smile creeps onto his lips.
“Party is perfect, Jordie. Thank you. For everything. For being so…”
“Don’t thank me for treating you the way you should always be treated.”
“You treat me like a princess! What if I get spoiled? You’ll have to deal with a monster.” You tease. “You won’t even be able to be mad at me, because you’ll be the reason.”
“You’ll terrorize the world.”
“Cause complete chaos.”
“Devastation, even.” As Jordan speaks you realize you’d gotten closer. A lot closer. Your chest seizes up with anxiety as you wonder how long you’d been leaning in like this. You almost pull back, ready to apologize. But you’re frozen stiff now and realize the two of you are still getting closer. With a jolt you realize you both leaned in.
Jordan has a hand on your thigh, you reach down, nervous, to hold his hand as reflex. It’s an every day comfort, lately. You give his hand a squeeze. He squeezes back. You don’t pull away as Jordan keeps leaning in.
“Jordan! Come stop Luke from doing a keg stand, please!” Cate’s voice, typically pleasant sounds incredibly annoying at the moment.
“Gimme a sec!” Jordan calls back, still looking you in the eye. You squeeze his hand tighter. He looks nervous. They’ve looked so nervous all night. Nervous you were having a good time. Nervous you were happy. Nervous… nervous to kiss you? Is he about to fucking kiss you?
“He has an interview tomorrow! Hustle please!” Cate calls back in a sing song tone.
“Fuck me!” Jordan throws his head back, shifting, frustrated. “I’ll be right back, okay?”
You nod, a little breathless from anxiety and excitement, and dread, and the full spectrum of human emotion. “Okay.”
Jordan stomps out of the kitchen, probably going to rip Luke a new asshole from the sound of her boots on the floor. She sounds like her own stampede. You giggle, pressing your hands, still warm from holding Jordan’s into your face. You may be bad at signals but…
You sit under the hideous fluorescent kitchen lighting feeling like something inside you is glowing. You kick your feet, nervous, waiting for Jordan to get back. Wondering what they’ll do. What they’ll say. If you’re delusional. You have to be delusional. You have to be.
“Guard dog taking a walk?” In the doorway stands Andre, looking a little rougher than usual. His right eye is dark, like a black eye that’s started healing. There’s a small bandage over his nose.
“What happened to you?” You gasp.
“Your guard dog.” Andre says, reaching into the fridge to pull out a bottle of spicy vodka. “Jordan’s number #2 for a reason. Congrats on making #5 by the way.”
“Thanks.” You say. “When did Jordan do that?”
“A week ago. Would have probably gotten it earlier but apparently Cate talked them into waiting to see me until they were less pissed off. For which I’m eternally grateful.” He says, taking a sip straight from the bottle without chaser.
You don’t really know what to say so you sit in silence. Legs still kicking, more from anxiety now, less from giddiness.
“He gave me a busted lip too, but that healed pretty quickly. I also think he might have kicked a rib loose, been a little sore on the left side.” Andre says, he doesn’t seem to be angry but you don’t know why else he’d talk to you.
“I didn’t ask Jordan to do that. If you’re wondering.” You say, slowly.
“No! No! You’re way too sweet for that. This was just my shitty way of getting around to an apology. I’m sorry. I should’ve said sorry before Jordan kicked my ass but I promise Jordan kicking my ass isn’t why I’m saying sorry. The original plan was to ask you out again, make it up to you with dinner. Jordan just kicked my ass first.”
“I hope to god you’re not working your way around to asking me on a pity date.” You narrow your eyes at him.
“So Jordan could put me in a full body cast?” Andre laughs loudly, shocking you. “No offense, you’re really cute, but nothing’s worth that fucking beat down.”
“Well, I guess I accept your-”
“You don’t have to forgive me. Jordan was pretty clear that I tore up some old wounds. I didn’t mean to, but I’m sorry. I can just be… a dick, sometimes. Often. All the time.” Andre jokes.
“What did Jordan say exactly?” You ask nervously.
“Nothing specific! I could barely pick out anything at all, really. The sound of her fist breaking my nose was pretty loud.”
You laugh then try to cover it up by taking a sip. Andre grins and you relax, knowing it was his way of breaking the tension.
“Can I ask you something?” Andre asks suddenly.
“You can ask, doesn’t mean I’ll answer.” You shrug.
“Fair enough.” Andre says, toying with the bottle. “Do you like Jordan?”
“What?”
“Because Jordan sure likes you.” Andre states.
“No, they don't.” It’s a reflex to deny the possibility of someone having feelings for you but the words feel wrong once you say them. Weren’t you just about to kiss? Wasn’t his hand just burning into your thigh like a brand? “Do they?”
“Jordan would never do a fraction of the shit they’ve been doing for you if they didn’t care about you.” Andre takes another sip, then moves to saunter from the kitchen. He stops, a glance over the shoulder. “However you feel, tell Jordan. And soon. They’re looking a little desperate.”
Then it’s just you and the sound of the party, and the cool marble you’re sitting on. And a lot to think about.
Tumblr media
“Your incessant leg jiggling is distracting me from how and why they intend to turn this beautiful victorian home into another soulless open concept millennial nightmare.” Jordan says, glancing from the TV to your leg which, yes, has been jiggling for awhile.
“I’ve got a question.”
“Obviously.”
“How can you tell if a girl isn’t into you?”
Jordan turns to face you, eyebrows furrowed, “what?”
You feel heat flood your cheeks, but keep your eyes firmly glued to the screen. “Are the rules the same? Or different?”
“You like girls?” Jordan blurts out.
“What?” The question is enough to make you look at her. And now you're trapped by societal standards of politeness to maintain the most anxiety inducing eye contact you've ever shared.
“You've never talked about… you've never said anything about liking girls.”
“You only offered up the help for the one gender. Didn't wanna get greedy.” You force a laugh.
“How long have you…. have you always liked girls?” Jordan asks and you hope to God you're not hallucinating that quick glance at your lips.
“You follow me on Instagram!”
“What's that have to do with anything?”
“I literally have the pride flag in my bio?”
“I thought you were-”
“-Jordan Li, if you're about to tell me you thought I was an ally I'll beat you to death, and then jump off a cliff.”
Jordan laughs, ducking her head, hair falling into her face slightly. You dig your fingers into your thigh to stop yourself from reaching out and tucking it behind her ear.
“Is there a reason why you're asking… about how to tell when a girl isn't into you, all of a sudden?” Jordan looks up at you and the world narrows down to her brown eyes, and her nose, and her mouth. And the look in her eyes you hope you're not reading wrong.
You blink in confusion when amusement crosses over her face and for one awful second you think Jordan is laughing at you and you could throw up. But you realize you're suddenly looking at her from behind a force-field of light purple and feel queasy out of a different sense of embarrassment.
You can hear a smile in Jordan’s voice, but you refuse to unbury your face from your hands, “Never seen you not be able to control your powers before.”
“Please kill me.”
“Can't. Your forcefield is still up, princess.” She teases, tapping at the bubble.
With a groan of humiliation you drop your field and peek up at her through your fingers.
“First the forcefield, now the hands. Still haven't answered my question though.” You almost snip at her that she should take a wild guess at your answer but there's something about Jordan’s expression. It's teetering between playful, guarded, and… something else. And you have to bank on whatever that something else is.
You take a deep breath in and move in closer, “You're not so awful a teacher that the lessons for a guy didn't stick, but considering you're a girl too who knows what incredibly important lesson you didn't know you had to teach me. The lesson… the girl lesson, that would have stopped me from misinterpreting what's been happening here. If I’m misinterpreting. All I know is… all I can really be sure of, is how I feel. And I, well-” You bite your lip, taking a shaky breath, and Jordan moves in closer, “I'm about halfway to being in love with you.”
The words are barely out of your mouth before her lips are on yours. Her hand curls at the base of your neck, pulling you in closer. A brush of her tongue against your bottom lip before you let her in with a breathless sigh. She moans against your lips, other hand moving to your waist to tug you into her lap.
You lose your balance a little, fall into her in a way that is not at all seductive. You laugh, embarrassed and she chases the sound, using both hands to put you in her lap, holds you there firm and secure.
“You-” She kisses you, interrupting your sentence. “Haven’t-” Another kiss. “Told me-” She holds you tight this time, tilting her head to the side, sweeping her tongue against yours and gasping at your taste. You pull back with shaky hands, keeping her at a distance with a grip on her shoulders.
“Could we use our big girl words?” You ask, breathless and a little dizzy.
“I’ve fucking only been in love with you for two years, thanks for fucking noticing.” She huffs, exasperated and smiling.
“How on Earth was I supposed to interpret your seething stare of hate for being in love with me?” You’re already melting against her as she pulls you back in with the guiding grip on your hair.
“Shoulda looked harder, baby.” She coos, and doesn’t let you up again anytime soon.

Sick Days:
*MC is in the Croytus Hall kitchen, trying their damnedest to keep from coughing their lungs out while carefully monitoring a pot of simmering soup. They hear the footfalls of their housemate, Solomon, as he comes up behind them*
Solomon: Oh MC~! I have everything ready. Thankfully, the Devildom still has TV these days, even if the shows are out of d-... da-....
*a hankerchief flies out of his pocket and quickly covers his nose*
Solomon: ACHOO!!
*the hankerchief does its thing before flying off behind him to go put itself in the laundry, swapping places with a fresh one that finds its way back to his pocket once again*
MC: *keeps their back to him* Bless you.
*Solomon comes up and slings his arms over their shoulders, leaning against them like he's a sagging backpack. His head rests alongside theirs*
Solomon: Is it still cooking?
*he reaches out to lift the lid on the pot but MC, already knowing better, swiftly smacks his mit back down*
MC: Don't touch.
Solomon: Oh! Right, I'm sorry. Forgot the rules for a second. I'm sure it smells good... not that either of us would know.
*he contently sways their bodies from side-to-side while MC clears their throat, grumbling dryily*
MC: Y-ou know, you could cure us at any time, right...?
Solomon: So could you, yet here we are! You're just playing hookie from the brothers right now, aren't you?
*the MC tries to groan, but ends up regretting it as it stresses their already aching throat. They cover their mouth with their elbow to catch their raspy coughs before responding*
MC: U-ugh! Okay, fine... You're right. How about you stop breaking my balls and pick what we're watching...?
Solomon: I already have. Beel told me about this wonderful cooking show the other day! I think we can start with that, then maybe move onto a few movies Leviathan recommended...
Solomon: I have the TV set and heated blankets on the couch. Plenty of water, a few boxes of tissues (mostly for me), your favorite sweater, a plush Asmo bought me-
MC: ...
Solomon: -and anything else we need, I'll have my wand in reach! I figured for dinner, we can order out. It's lovely that you're making us soup, but let's not push-
MC: Sol?
Solomon: -Hm?
*MC wiggles him back until they can turn themselves around and wrap their arms around his chest. They rest their head up against the soft fabric of one of his old sleep shirts snugly*
MC: .... Thank you.
*Solomon looks taken aback by their sudden tenderness, but doesn't hesitate to wrap his arms around them further and lightly cage them to his chest*
Solomon: Of course, MC... You take care of so many people. You deserve a break.
*a comfortable silence spreads between them for a minute or so, before MC starts to feel Solomon's cheek rubbing against the top of their head like a smothering cat*
Solomon: Oh, my adorable apprentice, you're just so cute when you're sick~
MC: *snaps their eyes back open and glares at his words, but doesn't let go yet*
MC: Sooool....
Solomon: If I didn't know better, I would almost want to keep you like this...
MC: *snorts* Good luck. The brothers would kill you for it. *they drop their arms from his chest, but he doesn't let go*
MC: Sol?
Solomon: I'm sure they would try, but you wouldn't let something bad happen to your beloved teacher, would you MC?
MC: *rolls their eyes* You wouldn't need my help, anyway. Let go.
Solomon: *squeezes a little tighter* Uh-uh! That wasn't my question.
MC: Sol, I need to stir the soup.
Solomon: And I need to hear an answer.
MC: Solomon, I'm serious.
Solomon: Oh? What's this? I think I'm gonna... ahh...!
MC: Wait, what are you-?
Solomon: Ahhh...!
MC: Solomon, let go!
Solomon: AHHHH....!!
MC: OKAY OKAY, I WOULDN'T LET THEM HURT YOU! Don't you DARE sneeze in my hair!!
Solomon: AHHHH- Just kidding~
*he finally lets them go and they lightly slap his shoulder before turning back around in a huff*
MC: Get out of my kitchen!
Solomon: Then I'll meet you on the couch again?
MC: Only after the soup is done.
Solomon: Then we can cuddle?
MC: Not if you misbehave!
Solomon: What if I steal the blankets~?
MC: *rubs their pounding temples at their teacher's childish antics*
MC: Solomon, I'm serious. Get. Out.

彡 prompt: dr. ratio discovers that his lover is more insecure than they let on.
彡 warning(s): self degradation/loathing (from the reader).

THE day you started dating Veritas Ratio was the best day of his life. He always considered you to be his equal in intelligence...and good looks too. Your more lenient personality, however, was in contrast to strict personality. But, you still taught your students well.
Granted, to Veritas, you really should be a little less merciful. You’re a professor, it's not like you're teaching preschoolers. If one of your students is stressed out, instead of coddling them, help snap them out of it.
Other than that, you’re a genuinely good professor. As stressed out as some of the students might be, they’re still learning. To Veritas, the way you teach shows that you’re confident in yourself and your teachings.
Although, outside of your job, lately you’ve been acting unusual. Veritas has noticed you hesitating to hold his hand. The way you’ve been kissing his cheeks instead of his lips, your refusal to look him in the eyes when talking to him.
Now Veritas Ratio doesn’t know how to comfort people. And when it came to you, he would give you a hug or a kiss, but that was about it.
Only because your concerns were the usual stress of work, so he wasn’t worried about you. He knew you were strong when it came to being a teacher, and that’s what he loved about you.
He thought to get you a coffee before your next lesson, as you are a hard worker. Of course, hard workers need energy and a relaxing drink. Especially when they’re in the presence of idiots.
So when Veritas hears you crying in your classroom, mumbling the cruelest words to yourself…his heart starts to ache.
Calling yourself a nuisance, nothing but a burden.
He’s damn near offended. If anyone else was caught talking like this about you, he’d have no problem insulting them back.
But…it was you saying these awful things about yourself. Why?
As you spotted him walking towards you, you wiped your eyes with a few tissues.
"Good morning, Veritas." You mumbled a soft 'thank you' as he handed you your coffee cup. You did your best to give him a smile, but you were only met with a glare in response.
"You know I despise lying, my dear." He leaned closer to you, your lips almost touching, as if he was about to kiss you.
“So, why don’t you be truthful?” The man with purple hair moved his head back, drinking his own coffee.
You were silent as you sipped your coffee, tears brimming from your eyes again.
“...I’m sorry, Veritas." Your voice was barely audible, until after you spoke again. “I…just felt like I’ve been of no use to you recently.”
Exhaling from his nose, he frowned. "I’m still failing to see how you could ever view yourself as a nuisance, [F/N]."
Oh, he heard that? Wonderful.
Getting up from your seat, you stared at your coffee cup. “I don’t feel like I’m your equal. That I’m below you.”
What. Were you serious? You were his lover. Of course you were his equal. Were you actually foolish? You were simply one of the most intelligent people he’s ever met, both academically and emotionally. You had a good heart as well. You were an honest person.
How could you speak about yourself this way? Absolutely not. He won’t hear it.
“Answer me this,” Veritas took the coffee cup out of your hand, setting both his and yours cups down on your desk. Staring into your eyes, he continued. “Have I ever told you that you were beneath me?”
“…No.” You mumbled.
“Have I given the impression that you’re bothersome, or a nuisance to me?”
“No, but–”
“Do you think I would be in love with you if I considered you to be worthless?”
No response from you.
Walking closer to you, he grazed your cheek. “So please, tell me where you got these thoughts from, sweetheart.”
Scrunching his eyebrows, Veritas thought for a moment. The first thought that came to his mind made his jaw clench.
“[F/N].” He said firmly, maintaining eye contact with you. “Has anyone said anything to you?”
Taking in his words, you broke eye contact with him. It was true that people talked about you behind your back. But, you’ve been feeling like this for a while…all your co-workers did was just make it worse.
“These thoughts have been sitting in my own mind for a long time, Veritas.” You stared at your shoes. “Nobody needed to say anything.”
Moving your chin up to make you look at him, his gaze softened. “Then let me tell you this.”
Taking your hands in his, he began. “I’m with you because I love you. Simple. You are forever my equal, and I have never imagined myself being with anyone but you.”
While his voice was nonchalant as ever, every single word still heartfelt, and came from a place of love.
Seeing your lips almost twitch into a smile, he continued, “Or should I remind you it was me who confessed to you?”
Yeah, that happened. Veritas Ratio told you he loved you. He didn’t expect you to feel the same way, forget starting a relationship with him.
Seeing tears almost well up in your eyes, he kissed your temple. “I love you, [Y/N], and that will never end. Am I understood?”
Nodding your head, you wiped your eyes. “Yes, I understand. I love you too, Veritas.”
With a satisfied hum, the genius reluctantly separated himself from you and picked up his coffee cup.
“Good, now get yourself together, my dear. You have a lesson in 5 minutes.”

Arrogance
Warning: smut, female reader, enemies to friends to lovers kinda, hate-fucking, semi-public sex, reader is wearing a skirt, Tsukishima is a bottom and I will die on this hill, female reader, College!Tsukishima
He was mean. Agonizingly rude and arrogant. And to you, you saw that as a competition. You wouldn't call yourself mean, but you defiantly didn't let any of his bullshit slide. You made that abundantly clear at your first meeting. You had know of the blonde boy in your class since you started Karasuno College, but luckily avoided him up until the end of your first year.
"Watch where you're going, shorty. Some of the grownups need to get through." He smirked, barely looking at you as he knocked into you.
He half expected to hear a remark from your pretty mouth, or maybe you'd just roll your eyes and walk away. What he didn't expect, was for you to grab his bicep and shove him into the wall with most of your strength. You weren't trying to hurt him, but you knew it would take a lot to move the third year middle blocker. You were in a bitter mood.
"I'd watch your mouth if I were you." You watch him stumble back slightly, eyes wide with shock. His lips part to speak, but you don't wait for him to respond, turning towards your next class.
Tsukishima had never been spoken to like that by a complete stranger. He supposed it was warranted, he wasn't oblivious to how rude he was to others. He just didn't think he'd be able to invoke that reaction from you of all people.
From then on, he made sure to glare at you whenever he got the chance, which happened to be often since you were now in the same class. Tsukishima made it his mission to pester you, and every single time, you put him in his place.
It started an odd relationship between the two of you. Neither of you would call each other friends, but you'd both be lying if you said you didn't seek out the other one, even if it was just to argue.
You sat in class one morning, the seat of the desk uncomfortable as you watched the teacher hand out the graded exams from last week. You didn't need to turn your head to see Tsukishima's eyes narrowed onto you, bouncing his leg with anticipation.
Your teacher places the exam face down on your desk, and you flip it over swiftly, trying not to look too eager. You smirk as your eyes trail to the boy in the row next to you, turning the paper to him so he could read the 100 marked proudly in the right corner of the paper.
You watch his gaze darken, scowling as he turns away from you. You fake coo at his actions, watching his left hand grip the desk until his knuckles turned white.
The teacher handed back Tsukishima's exam last, and you tried to peer at his score to no avail. The teacher dismissed the class soon after, and you found yourself chasing after the blonde, curious to see just how many points you beat him by.
"Don't get shy on me now." You say cockily, standing next to his desk and peering down on him.
He glares back up at you, a tinge of embarrassment obvious due to his reddening ears. Even if this was the only expression you ever saw him give you, it satisfied a part of you.
Neither of you notice the rest of the class leave, as well as the teacher.
"How'd you manage cheat this time?" Tsukishima asks, but even he knows it's a weak cover-up.
"Aw, that was almost a retort." You smile.
"Being around idiots lowers my brain cells." He rolls his eyes, trying to slide his exam into his backpack without you seeing the score.
Quickly, you snatch the paper from him, turning around so he can't grab it. Tsukishima lunges, reaching around you, caging you with his arms and pressing your hips against the side of the desk.
You try to relish in the fact that he got a 96, but you can't when he's pressed against you so closely you can feel his breath on your neck.
Caught by surprise, a small sound escapes from your lips, suddenly very loud in the empty room.
Tsukishima stops, unsure if he really just heard the small moan you made or if he was starting to confuse his daydreams with real life. But, one of his hands holding yours behind your back as the other grasped the paper on the desk in front of you was very, very real.
"Oh?" Tsukishima questions, his grip on your wrists tightening slightly.
When you don't make any efforts to move away, Tsukishima peers his head down by your ear, his lips grazing your skin as he whispers.
"Don't tell me you like this, y/n."
You snap back, pushing him off of you and turning around. You put your hands on his chest, shoving him back while keeping your fists tight around the material of his shirt.
His glasses are crooked slightly, and he stares at you with a hunger in his eyes. And then it hits you.
"Don't tell me you like it when I put you in your place, Tsukishima." Your hands reach higher, now gripping his collar.
You watch the blush creep up Tsukishima's neck, grinning. You're barely inches away, and he takes a step back in an attempt to catch his breath. His legs hit the front of a chair and you're climbing onto his lap before he's even fully sat down.
His hands fly to your waist instantly, steadying you on his thighs. You take his glasses off before trailing your fingers over the curve of his lips, leaning in slowly.
Your lips just graze his, but Tsukishima grasps the back of your head, greedily kissing you. You respond by kissing him back harder, parting your lips and pressing your body even further into him.
You don't miss how he lets out the smallest of whimpers at you grounding your hips against him, feeling him under you. You grin, grinding back and forth to pull more noises from him.
"I'm going to lose control if you keep doing that." Tsukishima admits, sounding short of breath.
"You haven't had an ounce of control since you walked into this classroom." You sneer, kissing down his jaw roughly. "You can stop pretending to fight me."
Tsukishima tilts his head back, hitting the wall softly as he started breathing deeply, feeling as though he could cum from your words alone. It was embarrassing the effect you had on him.
You reach a certain spot on his neck, causing Tsukishima to jerk his. hips up slightly as he sighs.
You wanted to toy with him for as long as you could, but you knew you had limited time. Hurriedly, you tugged at his belt, palming at his dick through his pants.
Tsukishima adjusted himself, unzipping his pants and trailing a hand up your thigh. You lifted your hips up, giving him room as you continued to leave hickies down his collar bone.
His hand was now under your skirt, delicately gripping your waist. The other was rubbing his tip, watching you eye his cock. Wordlessly, you pulled your panties to the side, sinking down on him.
You knew it was going to hurt with no prep and his size, but you didn't want to give him that satisfaction. You eased down on him, bitting your lip as you bottomed out. Tsukishima buried his head into your shoulder, letting out a moan.
You wrapped your fingers around his hair, tugging him back and forcing him to look at you. Your hand trailed to his throat, tightening slightly but not choking him.
"Be quiet." You whisper, looking at him sharply. Tsukishima's looking up at you with half lidded eyes, his mouth parted. He's on the verge of bliss and he's not hiding it anymore.
After sinking down fully, you crossed your arms, shifting your hips to get used to the feeling. He bucks his hips up, desperate for more.
"Pathetic." You say, moving your hips up and down slowly. His long fingers are digging into your hips, and his eyes are pleading with you.
"If you want something you're going to need to ask for it." You tease.
"Please," Tsukishima has lost all dignity, feeling so pussydrunk he thinks he'd kill to be inside you for a minute more. "need you to use me."
You grab his jaw, peppering kisses on his cheek as you speed your hips up, whispering encouragement in his ear.
Tsukishima let all control slip away from him as his orgasm built, holding you closer by the small of your back. His big hands wrapped around your waist and you let him attempt to muffle his sounds in the crook of your neck.
He was trying his best to hold off his orgasm, but between your tits nearly bouncing out of your shirt and the degrading words slipping from your kiss-bitten mouth, he didn't last very long.
A few minutes later you were viciously riding out his orgasm, but pink in the face and suddenly hit with the realization of what you just did.
Panic hit you momentarily, until Tsukishima kissed the top of your head, mumbling a “I’m never going to win an argument against you ever again.”
“No, I don’t think so.” You say. “Unless you want to end up like this again.”
“I wasn’t going to stop either way, but I appreciate the encouragement.”
