Note
hi love, I don't know exactly if you write reactions, I thought I would found something like this on tumblr but I didn't so i'd like to request a reaction of the vampires (in general, not just the Cullen's if it's ok, of course) to reader being their blood singers, like how would they deal with it and stuff (don't need to be poly if you don't want to)
thanks lovely <3
Head Cannon Cullens x Reader X Volturi Reacting to you being there blood singer.
Hi love, I hope this was kind what you were talking about. I've never done one like this before but I think this is what you meant. I hope you like it. I didn't get around to doing everyone but let me know if you would like me too.
Love <3
Word count: 871
Edward
~ Avoids you constantly until his curiosity gets the best of him. Always quoting Curiosity kills the cat. It’s like he forgot he himself was the cat. Yearns to be with you 24/7 but also aches to be away from you 25/8. The fact that he can’t seem to stay away from you kills him inside. The fact that he might be the one to lead you to your death kills him even more. Can’t help but to love you up close instead of afar. If he went more than a week without your scent he loses focus that he can’t regain.
“Edward.”
“Edward!” Emmett yelled, snapping Edward out of his lovesick high.
“What?” Edward frowned, eyes still unfocused.
“He’s doing it again!” Emmett yelled, shaking his head.
Jasper
~ Jasper would have the hardest time out of all of them. Jasper being scared of hurting you would over shine his love for you. But the fact that he’s even trying to have this much restraint when it comes to you shows how deep his love goes. He wouldn’t trust himself to be alone with you for more than two minutes. So count on spending constant time together with him, Edward and or Alice.
“Come closer Jasper, Please I trust you.” You pleaded.
“I can’t.. I really wish I could But.. I’m just not strong enough.” Jasper stood in a corner with his eyes closed tightly.
You sighed in slight disappointment.
“I’m truly sorry, darling.” He spoke softly.
Alice
~ Alice would be one who can handle it as long as your blood stays in your veins. The moment it’s reached the oxygen of the outer world she gets upset at herself for her personal faith being so weak. Even though she’s seen that she never hurts you in the future she wonders if it’s her constant worry that keeps you safe from her nature.
“You told me you wanted to take me shopping today.” You smiled at Alice.
“I’m sorry but today won’t be a good day we’re going camping today. It was late notice.” Alice responded upset that she doesn’t know how strong she is when it comes to you.
Carlisle
~ Carlisle though your blood, your scent is more tempting. He wouldn’t have much trouble with it. In fact your scent would be calming to him at the end of the day. After a long day at the hospital surrounded by so many scents of others yours is the only one he couldn’t wait to smell all day.
“I missed you today.” He said smiling as you kissed his lips softly.
“Long day at work?” You smiled back.
He silently nodded softly stroking your hair. The simple act of love was like it made your scent smell sweeter. He was in love.
Rose
~ She hates you at first. She takes pride in the fact that she’s never had one drop of human blood. And then here you come like you were made to be her number one temptation. And she hates you for that. She doesn’t talk to you. She doesn’t look at you. She stays ten feet away at all times. You and Alice became friends so the fact that you're sitting in her house. On her couch. Making the house smell like nothing but temptation from the devil himself she hates. She feels like Edward, which she also hates.
“Hey Rose!” You yelled trying to catch up with her. She brushed past you when you got up to greet her.
“Rose?!” You yelled once again. Slowing down you frowned.
Why doesn’t she like you?
Caius
~ You would have to build a very strong connection with Caius for him to even care to keep you alive. Once he smelt your scent he wanted nothing more than to drain you dry and watch your body go limp. In fact he got a thrill out of the thought. But he thought blood singers only come once in a lifetime and to kill you now would be a waste. Especially since in his lifetimes of living he’s never smelt a scent like yours. As your connection grew because your life literally depended on it he thought Maybe I’ll just have a sip every now and then.
“I love this painting.. What does it mean?” You asked, hands gliding against the moist paint.
“It represents the desperation of death.” Caius spoke, wrapping his arms around your waist hiding his face in your neck hovering his fangs over the very line of your life.
Jane
~ Jane she wouldn’t know what to do with this information. Does she just kill you and get it over with or does she play with her temptations? She’d keep you around But when upset she can be very hostile and her actions may be unforgivable so keep your distance when you hear she’s had a bad day.
“Jane I saw this beautiful hair pin that I think would-”
“If I just suck you dry do you think you’d still be able to talk this much?” She spoke glaring at you with her piercing red eyes.
Once no answer came from you as you stood there with wide eyes she simply walked away from you.

Thinking about Bigger than the whole sky fits so well in Esme's story and crying
The chorus starts with
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye // You were bigger than the whole sky // You were more than just a short time
And I obviously link with Esme's son dying so soon after he was born
And I've got a lot to pine about // I've got a lot to live without
After her baby dies she is also turned into a vampire. So she lost a lot, not only her baby, but also her faith and hope (thus her suicide attempt), her humanity, (and before that she had already lost her parents and her dreams so she knows what lose is)
I'm never gonna meet // What could've been, would've been // What should've been you
And the chorus ends with the statement that she's never gonna meet what her son would've been, and what their life's would've been, what she would've been

Please continue Paranoid Bella, please, please, please I'm begging you muffin, I need to know. What happens if Billy does call Carlisle and tell him about his son's stalking and grooming shenanigans? What does Carlisle do? The poor man would just about die from embarrassment. Also, how is Charlie letting Bella move in with the Blacks? The need to know is just too great .
Anon is referring to Paranoid Bella, a character so popular on this blog, she now has a master post. Specifically, anon wants to know about the forbidden spin-off, in which Bella sought sanctuary with Billy and... bad things I refuse to touch happened.
Billy, notably, decided not to talk to Carlisle, Papa Vampire, because he assumed that Edward making Bella Dracula's Bride was typical demon behavior that Carlisle Cullen approved of.
But your second question first, since that's more in line with the original post.
How is Charlie Letting Bella Move in With the Blacks?
Because Bella pulls her typical canon bullshit on her dad. I don't know what excuse she comes up with, it's probably terrible, but dammit she does it all the same.
CHARLIE, SHE IS MOVING IN WITH JAKE AND BILLY. PEACE OUT.
Charlie has no idea what to do with this and asks Billy what the hell is going on. Billy can't really explain it and just assures Charlie that it's cool, he'll look out for Bella.
Billy is Charlie's best friend, and this is long before Jake inexplicably dumps Bella after Bella had been dumped by Edward, so he's going to trust this.
Of course, he's deeply hurt and assumes that it's about him: that Bella found him smothering or a terrible father or something, but he tries to let Bella live her own life and hopes she still wants to talk to him.
Bella probably meets up with him on weekends (in La Push) to have breakfast and things. Bella feels really shitty but she'd rather not be eaten by a vampire and figures Charlie, if he knew, would prefer that too.
Billy Decides to Talk to Carlisle
But alright, picking up where we left off, Paranoid Bella early in Twilight drives to Billy's, tells him Edward the demon is in her room every night, and Billy has his panic moment.
He considers his options.
The tribe has only one wolf, the very young and inexperienced Sam, to protect their lands. The Cullens have brought an unprecedented number of demons to Forks: if it comes to war then Sam cannot defend their territory against the vampires. They are simply too outnumbered.
Forks is not in the tribe's territory, technically, while if Bella were to be bitten it would break the treaty, Edward Cullen can creep in her room all he likes. However, it's not very in the spirit of the treaty.
Billy thinks about this long and hard, perhaps looks up Ephraim's personal accounts of meeting the Cullens, and from those determines that Ephraim, as the tribe leader, seemed to genuinely think Carlisle Cullen was an honorable man who would abide by this treaty.
Billy questions Bella further and she admits that it's only been Edward Cullen, in the dead of night, and that Edward seems to be trying to keep his family unawares. None of the other Cullens have ever approached her and the one time she met Carlisle Cullen he acted as a perfectly professional doctor: Edward only started grilling her after the man had left the room.
There's a chance he doesn't know.
If Billy truly wants to protect his people, Bella Swan, then perhaps he needs to make a leap of faith and bring Carlisle Cullen back to the negotiating table.
Billy calls Carlisle Cullen: We need to talk about your fucking demon son.
Carlisle feels a growing pit of terror in his stomach as he realizes what this must be about. Carlisle hadn't seen all the signs, per Midnight Sun, Edward had made a habit of leaving the house at night long before Bella and none of the Cullens know that he spent his midnight hours sneaking into her fucking bedroom (except, of course, Alice who gives her full support). Edward in general does his best to keep everybody, but especially Carlisle, thinking well of him in general.
However, Edward did return when the wiser action would have been to never come back to Forks, against Carlisle's counsel. He does seem to have a blossoming obsession with Bella Swan that Carlisle simply does not understand. And he's been acting erratic, paranoid, and weird. Happier than he's ever been, hooray for that, but Carlisle is notably not on Team Bella/Edward until he realizes that somehow, due to Bella Swan being in his life, Edward has become a better person (and even then he's not... necessarily gung ho).
Billy calling, somehow, Carlisle knows this must be about Edward, even if he doesn't want to admit it. Then it gets worse. Alice is desperately telling Carlisle not to go, if he goes then the coven falls apart.
Carlisle panics, "What the fuck?!" Alice has to clarify that, no, the treaty isn't broken but--Well, you know how sometimes it's better not to know everything about those around us? Carlisle doesn't know. He and Alice stare at one another, Alice begs him to please, for the love of god, don't talk to Billy.
Send Esme instead.
Carlisle does not send Esme.
As for Edward himself, those goddamn nosy tribe members are ruining his schemes! How dare they get between him and Hamburger and--
Sorry, anon, we return to this blog's BSOD state. There is no path further from here. This is the end of the road. THERE IS NO MORE. THIS IS THE END.
You have asked the ask that cannot be addressed.
Gooday.

Golden Eyes - Paul Lahote x Reader
Tumblr media
A/N: I thought of this last night when I had trouble sleeping. Can’t wait for you all to hate me, but I thoroughly enjoy it and encourage you to read until the end.  It’s kinda a sad one folks, but I give to you a soft Paul
Paul and I sat in the meadow as we had grown accustomed to. He had found it on patrol a few months ago, so now we come here as often as possible, now that the threats of impending vampiric doom was dwelling since Bella and Edward got married a few days ago. It was time for everyone to breathe for what felt like the first time in forever.
I inhaled the fresh scent of teakwood cologne on Paul’s chest. My head rested on his bicep as we laid down. Simply enjoying the company of one another, laughing at each other’s stupid jokes, and giggling whenever he whispers yet another sweet nothing into my ear.
The light shone on us almost magically, it almost felt surreal. I felt the warmth from the sun’s rays shining on my skin, pairing with Paul to make the almost chilly day bearable.
The deep rumbling of his chest sent waves of happiness throughout my body, his laugh was the air I needed to breathe. Paul really made me feel things I never knew were possible.
Suddenly, the air grew quiet. The sounds of nature came to a halt. We no longer heard the sounds of birds nor the rustling of the wind. Paul’s chest tightened and he inhaled deeply. His large body turned over onto mine, crushing me into the ground.
“Paul?” I asked, voice trembling.
“Shhh.”
He looks around, trying to find the source of whatever killed our blissful moment. Though that only lasted a few seconds before I heard his voice once again.
“What’re you doing here, Irina?” Paul asks, letting himself get off of my chest.
I turn and see the woman I recognized from Bella’s wedding. She stared daggers at us all night.
I looked into her golden eyes, and I saw nothing but pure disdain. She was not happy to see us.
“I came to apologize to Carlisle for my behavior at the wedding.” She smirks, looking over at me.
“Well, you’re about fifteen miles away from their house.” Paul says, growing more uneasy by the minute.
He stood in front of me, I began to stand myself but my legs were trembling with fear.
She wouldn’t be stopping to see us for any good reason. She might’ve actually came to apologize to Carlisle, but smelling us out here might’ve presented too good of an opportunity for her.
“You killed him.” She scoffs, her golden eyes burning holes into Paul.
I knew Paul wasn’t trying to escalate the situation, as he was trying to avoid more conflict and was hoping she would just leave. But it was after then he knew that he had to phase.
“He tried to kill Bella.” Paul reminds her.
I latched onto his bicep in fear.
“He wanted to be like us!” She yells, beginning to walk closer.
“Move back.” Paul whispers, shoving me backwards.
His body bursts into one of a large grey wolf, snarling. He backs up closer to me, protectively standing in front of my trembling frame.
“Cute.” Irina scoffs.
Before I could even blink, she was running at us. Thankfully Paul was able to actually see her as he met her in the middle. He threw her into a nearby tree, snapping it in half. Paul runs over to where she landed, hoping to just destroy her.
“Where the hell are the rest of them?” I mumble under my breath, panic fully setting in. I tore my eyes from Paul and Irina and look into the tree line, hoping to see the rest of the pack.
Irina was a seasoned vampire, she knew what she was doing. I had all my faith in Paul, but I worried for his safety greatly.
A loud wine caused my blood to run cold. It was Paul. Irina had crushed his ribs.
“Paul!” I scream, almost running over, but I couldn’t bring myself to run-- it was like my legs were made of concrete.
It was then that my eyes almost bulged from my skull. I watched as she grabbed him from the neck, killing him instantly. I watched as his lifeless body slumped to the ground, his eyes rolling.
“I’ll protect you until my dying breath.” The memory of Paul’s voice rang through my head, echoing around the walls of my skull. He meant those words more than anyone else would ever have.
I immediately fell to my knees, screaming but nothing came out. I tried to run over, but I couldn’t get up from my collapsed state. I was stuck to look into the love of my life’s dead eyes.
Until she stalked over to me, far too slowly. She grabbed me by the throat, lifting me off the ground with an enormous smile on her face.
I watched as the rest of the pack charged out of the treeline, though it wasn’t before she bit me.
I fell to the ground as Irina was grabbed by Sam and Jacob-- being destroyed.
I was flailing on the ground, convulsing as the venom surged through my body. It felt like there was no longer blood traveling through my veins-- it felt like fire, like corrosive acid. I was looking around, screaming-- trying to get up and run to Paul. But I couldn’t, my eyes simply just faded to black-- ignoring the signals my brain was attempting to send to them. Suddenly, I was void of all sight and sound.
Suddenly, I hear my screaming again and I’m sweating profusely. Anxiety coursing through my veins.
“(Y/N), wake up. Please.” Paul begs, gently shaking me awake.
My eyes shoot open and see a worried Paul leaning over me, clutching onto me for dear life. I immediately grab him, pulling him into me.
“(Y/N), you had a nightmare. You’re okay, I’m here. I’m here, baby.” He whispers, raking his fingers through my hair as he held me close.
He picks me up, placing me in his lap, shushing me as I sobbed into his chest.
“I got you, baby. I’m here. It was just a nightmare. It’s okay.” His raspy voice soothes.
“P-Paul.” I choke on my sobs.
“Shhhh, talk about it when you calm down.” His warm hand rubbing circles on my back, my head on his chest.
Hearing his heart beat was the best thing I had ever heard. I was so grateful to hear it, to feel his chest warm. To see him alive.
We sat there for a few minutes, waiting until my uncontrollable sobs turned into slight sniffles.
“Do you wanna talk about it?” He whispers into my ear.
I nod, pulling away to look at him. I felt that it was better to tell him, afraid this dream was an omen of sorts. Maybe to consult with Alice.
“I’m just so happy to see you.” I press my forehead onto his.
His warm hands stayed on my waist, his eyes never tearing away from mine, patiently waiting for me to tell him about my nightmare.

Sanctuary With the Enthralling Moon: Jasper Hale x Fleur Swan. Chapter 2
Tumblr media
Authors notes: A shorter chapter for right now folks! Hope you like it!
None of the characters in Twilight belong to me, All rights go to Stephenie Meyer!
“Let's get out of this hopeless town Nobody can stop us now And time's on our side While our hearts stay young Let's think about it tomorrow.”
Tomorrow by, Kali Uchis
“Please, please tell me Jasper... you aren’t breaking up with me are you?”
He looked up at me, his eyes were filled with sadness. If he could cry, I was positive he would.
“Jazz, c’mon... we can’t quit now. After everything we’ve been through you can’t give up on me now.”
“How else could we make this work?” He asked.
“Calls, emails, text hell, I will send you a photo of me every damn day if I have to. Just don’t do this to me, don’t break up with me. Tears streamed down my face and I slide down to the floor. Jasper said in front of me and grabbed my face. He wiped some of my tears with his thumb.
“okay, okay calm down... I won’t break up with you. I couldn’t of done it if I tried really. I mean, like you said... we’ve been through worse. We shouldn’t be giving up now.”
“I know the only reason your leaving is because of Edward.” I said, I sniffled but my voice was filled with malice.
“Dean’s being hard on himself too, he is completely convinced he is nothing but a monster.”
“I really hate Edward sometimes Jazz.”
“You know I won’t be able to come back here until Edward thinks it’s best too... He probably thinks she’s going to move back with her mom in a week.”
“He’s bad at assumptions, she loves him to death... she’ll wait for him to come back here forever.”
“Yeah, I know...”
“You know, something Jazz?”
“Hmm?”
“If we can go through a psychotic vampire trying to kill me, a group of men trying to... well you know... then we can get through this. I have faith in us Jazz... you should too.”
He looked down and smiled at me.
“I will, and the second I can come back down here... I will.”
“I know you will...I love you.”
“I love you too.”
He pulled me up from the floor, pulling me close hugging me. He kissed my forehead and then let me go. Before he jumped out my window he locked eyes with me again. He turned and left with another word. I sat down at my bed... I didn’t know what to do. It was like I was stuck, and I wasn’t going to be able to move ever again. I needed to keep reminding myself... we’re still together... he going to come back... he has to, come back. I made my way downstairs and sat in the living room, thinking of something to write. Creativity was always a great distraction for me.
“Oh I beg you, can I follow? Oh I ask you, why not always? Be the ocean, where I unravel Be my only, be the water where I'm wading
You’re my river running high Run deep, run wild.”
I Follow Rivers, By Lykke Li
The words I wrote stared back at me, they weren’t exactly a distraction for me... but it was an outlet. My feelings and words weren’t going to explode being locked inside of me. I was about to start writing again when Dad had burst through the front door.
“Fleur, has Bella texted or called you at all?”
I started to feel nervous...What did Edward do now?
“No, but I think I know why she’s gone.”
“Why? What happened?”
“Jasper called me today, he and his family have to leave Forks. Carlisle got a new job so they all have to relocate.”
“Did he...?”
“Break up with me? No, it’s going to be long-distance for us for a while.”
“Oh...”
“But, I think Edward probably broke up with her. We better find her dad.”
Dad and I rushed out of the house, we decided to get a small search party with the people down at the reservation. Sam looked shocked when he saw me, he wouldn’t meet my eyes however. He must’ve still felt guilty about what happened down at the beach last year. Sam had gone into the woods searching for Bella. It was 3 hours later and we still hadn’t found her yet.
“Maybe I should call the station.” Dad suggested.
“Charlie, we’ll be able to find her.” Harry, one of dads best friends said.
“Okay, I would’ve called the Cullens but they all left town.”
“They left? Good Riddance.” Harry said darkly.
“Dad, they found her!”
Dad ran toward Sam, he had a unconscious Bella in his arms.
“She’s alright.”
Dad took Bella from Sam’s arms and held her tight. The next day was strange, Bella hadn’t come out of her room and it was 1 in the afternoon.
“I can’t believe he left her in the woods...I absolutely detest that man.”
“I feel the same way Petal, I feel the same way.”
“If I ever see him again, his head is going to be a hood ornament on my car.”
“Why don’t you try getting Bella again”
“Okay dad...”
I walked and turned into the hallway and knock on Bella’s door.
“Bella?”
I didn’t get a reply so, I opened the door and looked around. Bella was a statue, staring out the window with a dazed look in her eyes. I left soon after, I don’t think I was going to get a reply out of her.
“I don’t think she’s coming out dad.”
“Thanks for trying.”
“Yeah...”
The days had started going by a lot slower since they all left. Going to bed was the only way to pass the time quicker. I had a weird dream when I went to bed that night.
POV Change: Jasper
I was driving around wandering aimlessly through Ithaca, New York. I didn’t really know what to do. It had been so long since I’ve been on my own, those pains had come back. I was away from her for one day and I’ve already fallen back into a part of myself I never wanted to me. I was driving slowly though a street and turned my head for a second... I saw her, standing there in a white night gown. The look on her face was one of pure hatred, before I could stop and get out to her she was gone.

She spent about a hundred years alone, before she found the Denali coven, and another hundred and fifty years with them before they parted ways. Lily has spent the past fifty years as the sixth of Carlisle and Esme’s children and, as much as she hates being a vampire, she’s grown to care about them. That’s why she knows that something has to be done about Edward’s new obsession, the girl who asks too many questions

When Charlie and Renée got divorced, they each got custody of a child. Mariana Swan has lived in Forks for as long as she can remember, with her dad Charlie, her uncle Billy, and her pseudo brother Jacob.  She’s known for a while that there was something decidedly not right about that Cullen family, and not just because of the weird incest thing that they have going on, but she never really cared.  At least, not until her big sister moves into town and not only gets involved with the family, but starts dating the creepiest one of all.  At first she would have ignored that too, but suddenly Jacob is acting weird too and Bella is nearly dying every day.  As they say, “if you mess with the big sister, there is always a younger, crazier sister behind her that you don’t want to mess with,” and well, the Cullens are about to find out exactly how crazy this younger sister can be when her sister’s life is at stake.

Note
bella asks alice about the time before she and jasper joined the cullens
Happy birthday to Bella!!!!
So here's a fun little family time. This turned out a bit different, though they do talk about Alice and Jasper’s two years together it’s more of Bella and the fam try to embarrass Alice and then be nice to her cause Esme said so. Very cute Bella and Alice sister-in-law/best friends bonding too. And obvs Jalice cuteness PS.: It's set in 2017 for timing purposes.
Birthdays were my favorite. Even if we couldn't eat cake, we could still celebrate and party. On previous occasions, Bella's birthday had been the cause of commotions in the family. But since we had an eternity of those now, I wanted the impressions to be new about the date. Bella was my best friend and now that she wasn't human or aging anymore, I hoped that she would be glad with a party. Of course, it was just our family.
She spent lunch at Charlie's while I had the rest of the family organize the house with me.
"Are you sure she wants this?" Rosalie eyed me as she passed on with a pile of present.
"Over on the round table, Rose," I said simply as she rolled her eyes amusedly. "We celebrate everyone's birthday here."
"Yeah, but it's not like she likes it, Alice." Rosalie mocked lightly and I sighed. Of course, they were comparing it to the previous times.
"Sure as hell it's always eventful!" Emmett came in saying it, poking Jasper on the ribs. I rolled my eyes dramatically and waltzed to my love, pecking his cheek.
"Don't mind him, it's in the past," I whispered against his ear.
Jasper planted a hand on my lower back and nodded, "I know. Thank you." We exchanged a brief kiss and were off to finish up the decorations.
There was a cake that would be mainly for Renesmee, but it was three tiers tall, light pink with petals around it. Some appetizer plates around it as well. Anyone could easily think we were all going to eat and Edward made a remark about that.
"Ness doesn't eat that much food." He mumbled and helped Jasper place some of the helium balloons around the birthday table.
She can have it throughout the week; I thought knowing Edward would catch that, Jacob can have it too whenever he visits.
"Well, Bella hates birthday parties, so you're setting yourself to lose." He murmured with an amused smirk. Irritating, really. That thought only made him smile further, obviously.
"Get out of my head and get to work, Edward."
I joined my niece into wrapping the presents and heard as Emmett made yet another joke to Jasper. I was glad he didn't take it to heart, nor Edward. That's just how family was. It would take them some time to let go of the incident on Bella's birthday a few years ago.
Bella obviously was appalled at the party, but she gave in seeing how Renesmee was happy about the entire celebration. That much I had predicted way ahead when I first decided to plan it, so I was very excited with the outcome.
We sang her happy birthday and opened the presents with no incidents. Bella joined me on the couch as I finally sat back to relax and watch the family.
"Thanks." She mumbled, snuggling to my side for a moment. I smiled and poked her ribcage.
"I knew you would like it in the end." Honestly, sometimes her lack of faith in me bothered me a little.
"I don't like parties." She insisted, making me roll my eyes.
"When you married Edward, I told you that you would have to live with it." I loved throwing parties, so that was something Bella would have to accept.
"How come you never have parties celebrating you?"
"Yes I do, we celebrated my birthday."
"We gave you gifts and you went on a trip with Jasper."
"Believe me, we celebrated me," I smirked and my eyes quickly moved around the room until they landed on Jasper. He wasn't looking at me, but I knew he had heard it when I gazed at the side grin across his lips. When my eyes landed back on Bella, she was rolling hers amusedly, having witnessed the exchange. "I guess my sisters are not as excited as party planning, that's all."
My tone was merely teasing, but Bella seemed to take it to heart. "Oh, Alice. I'm sorry."
"Bella, I was just messing with you." I laughed heartedly, giving her a side hug.
"Ah, right." She gasped and sighed in relief, leaning into my hug. "Hey, when is yours and Jasper's anniversary?"
"You don't have to throw us anything." I clarified after the vision invaded my mind. Bella frowned, clearly distressed.
"Maybe I want to."
"I don't need to be a psychic to know you most certainly don't."
Bella seemed convinced of that much but then added, "Well, when is it? I don't think you ever told me."
"October 16th," I told her, and the date now made Jasper look at me. I gazed at him briefly and beamed. "Of nineteen fifty-two."
"Oh! You'll be married for 65 years this year!" I nodded excitedly, eyeing Bella with joy. They had been the best sixty-five years getting to share it with the love of my life. "I thought you were already married when you joined the family."
I shook my head, "Jasper and I were living in sin." At the time, that was what people thought about a woman and a man living together without being married. "We met in forty-eight and then came to the family in nineteen-fifty. It was Carlisle that suggested we get married because of what people would think."
Bella nodded; it was a no brainer that people's marital habits had changed a lot. "But you didn't think of marrying before?" I shrugged.
"We were enjoying our time together before we met the family in Calgary. You know how it is when you first do it as a vampire." I smirked, and even if my tone was a little lower, I was aware all the vampires in the room had heard it. "But not just that, we had found each other recently, we were madly in love, but Jasper had gone through a hell lot. I wanted to take my time."
I noticed the presence behind me and smiled. "That's no accurate," Jasper said it, taking the seat next to mine, talking directly to Bella now. "Alice was worried I would desert her if she pressed too hard, even if she didn't ever see it happening." Jasper's hand rested on my knee, and I placed mine on top of his, briefly looking at him.
"Like I said, you had been going through a lot." My eyes trailed back to Bella. "You know that part. I just didn't want to have him think I was trying to manipulate him or push my agenda."
"Did she tell you she got the jitters?" Rosalie said from afar, siting with Renesmee as they organized the gits. I rolled my eyes as everyone was suddenly attempting to make me the embarrassed one. Bella looked extremely surprised at Rosalie's reveal.
"She was worried I could be hiding the decision to leave her at the altar," Jasper added and I groaned.
"I like this, making Alice embarrassed. Go on." Bella chuckled. It was Edward who began approaching us with a smirk.
Don't you dare, I told him mentally, but he couldn't resist.
"She went on rambling that this was a mistake, and it was too soon to marry," Edward told them. I was appalled about this turn of events with my family, brow furrowed in annoyance.
Emmett jumped in too. He was carrying a helium balloon and I saw it happening before he did it.
"Emmett, do not." He inhaled a fair amount of helium and blasted out words that I had said on that occasion.
"He's the one, you know. I can really ruin it. There won't be anyone else, ever." They all cracked into laughter more at Emmett's voice than the actual words. I had to admit it myself that it was indeed a little funny.
"Oh, you lot, leave Alice be," Esme said as she was with Carlisle by the kitchen counter, organizing the party's leftovers. "She's always throwing all of you memorable events, be kind. Besides, it's completely normal to get anxious at your wedding. We all had it."
"She's right, sorry, Alice." Bella pinched my elbow with an apologetically grin. Emmett passed by me and brushed, more like messed though, my hair.
"It was still funny." He said it and I rolled my eyes.
"It's fine," I assured as Jasper's hand brushed my knee, making me look up at him.
"For what's worth, I was worried you would realize I wasn't worth all that dedication and trouble." Jasper leaned to peck my cheek as I felt the entire room get filled with tenderness, love.
"Never."
"Get a room, you two." Emmett squealed out, his voice still slightly pitched. It made us both crack up in laughter again.
"It's decided," Bella said. I looked at her, puzzled that I hadn't seen what it was."
"What?"
"Ah, I like this. Jasper distracts you, and I can actually decide things privately." Her tone only made it more challenging for me. I searched for recent events, choices she was making for the near futures and landed on October 16th.
A beautiful gazebo in our backyard, our family gathered together and some of our friends as well. Not a big party, no. A small ceremony, a celebration very modest and beautiful, like something Bella would plan. She was by the gazebo's steps, in a pale mauve dress that cascaded from bellow her bust all the way to the floor. Next to her was Rosalie in the same dress, both stunning, holding a white bouquet of wild followers. On the other side were Emmett and Edward, dressed in suits and smiling. But my heart raced fast on my eyes fell on Jasper standing inside the structure, my stunning groom.
I walked down the aisle with Carlisle holding me by the arm. And joined my love on the renewal of our wedding vows. Or the making of them for those who didn't know our relationship had been sealed already, long ago.
Bella was clearly frustrated when I came back to my senses.
"Well, so much for gloating."
Jasper, who seemed a little lost, asked, "What's going on?"
"Seems like we'll be having a wedding soon." Edward chuckled.
"It's too closeby to send out invites, Bella."
"No, no, no. You let me handle that." She protested and then eyed Rosalie over her shoulder as if asking for her aid. The blonde joined us quickly now.
"It'll be great, Alice!"
"I have to agree." Carlisle echoed and Esme too was beaming.
"Am I too big to be a flower girl?" Renesmee asked, standing up to come sit with the rest of the family around the couch.
"Of course not, sweetie," I told her and then looked at Jasper. "Are you on board with that? We could always just skip and elope in Alaska, or Vegas again."
Sharing a smile at the memory that got everyone but Edward, with his intrusive thoughts, with a confused gaze at us.
"Tale for another time." Jasper clarified, as a wave of relaxation hit us all. "There's nothing I'd like more than marrying you again."
Bella grinned, and for a second, she looked too much like me, happy and excited. "It's going to be great, you guys. I promise."
I leaned into her, giving her a tight hug, "You're just happy you're not the center of attention anymore."
"You're damn right."
We all laughed.
"I just want to do something nice for yet another birthday celebration." Bella sighed contentedly into our hug.
"Alright, alright..." We were silent for a moment before eyeing Bella. "I always knew we'd be best friends. Happy birthday, Bella."

Fic about Carlisle and Esme thinking the other one doesn’t love them?
dr cullens in his feelings
Carlisle watched her.
He’d been doing that a lot lately.
At first, it had been to keep an eye on her. He wanted to keep her safe during her earliest days, wanted to make sure she was healing from the pain of her human life and then rebirth as one of them. He had to protect any human that might wander up to their little farm house as well. His cause had been a noble one in the beginning.
Now the doctor found himself admiring her. He admired the graceful way she moved, the light in her eyes when she laughed at one of his silly jokes. He was struck by the look on her face when she painted, the furrow of her brow when something about the blueprints spread out of her desk was troubling her.
She was so utterly captivating. He’d never felt such a way. The new vampire was beautiful, he’d never deny that, but his eyes followed her for some other reason he couldn’t name. He’d never felt so drawn to anything before. The magnetic pull of her was stronger than that of his call to medicine, even to his faith.
Esme must have felt his eyes on her because she turned, lifting a hand to block the sun from her eyes until she spotted him in his bedroom window. Her face lit up as she waved and it offered him a fleeting feeling of hope.
That’s all it was, though— hope. She was happy with them, had befriended both he and Edward, but he was sure it was all it would be. A part of him, the cynical, self loathing part, was happy for that. Esme deserved someone better than him.
She deserved someone who radiated the light that she did, someone with a spirit as free as her own. She deserved someone who wasn’t weighed down by centuries of turmoil and sadness, by his sins.
The other part of him ached for that little bit of hope. While half of him wanted better for her, the selfish half of him couldn’t bear to think about losing her to another. She’d changed him for the better, had made him happier than he could ever remember being.
He dreamt of her despite his inability to sleep.
“Join me down here?” She asked him from her spot in the garden, pulling him from his thoughts.
“Of course.” He replied without hesitation.
He’d do anything for her. Even if it meant following her around their small garden with an armful of tools until she found someone left them, he’d do it.

T&L pt 14: The Battle
Tumblr media
Warnings: violence
Word count: 4033
Part 13
Darya (Persian) - ocean: The endless ocean is a sight for sore eyes.
Arya's POV
„They...He what? Hhhe left?“ I stammered. The answer was obvious by the look on Emily's face. Kim couldn't even look at me. My mind was racing, heart pounding. I was so furious, worried, hell more like terrified, trembling almost violently. Before I knew what I was doing, my legs moved me straight out the door. Slamming the door behind me, not looking back, completely ignoring Emily begging me to come back, I ran. I have no idea where I'm going, I don't even care. He left without a goodbye. Soreness I felt this morning was replaced by agonizing pain in every nook and cranny of my body. My lungs are burning, legs already tired, my thoughts wild making it impossible to concentrate and take control. I don't know how long I've been running, a few minutes, half an hour? But I finally stopped, collapsing onto my knees and hands, unable to take a proper breath. My lungs felt like they could burst any moment now, my throat dry. Sweat rolled down my skin in thick, salty beads. My skin felt like it was burning and yet, somehow, I was still so damn cold. I could feel my heart throbbing inside my chest. Tears blind me so I wipe my face and lift my head to see where I am.
The cliffs. Of course..my stupid legs led me straight to a place that would remind me of him...Paul. Why did you do it? Why didn't you tell me? How the hell did nobody tell me it was happening today? I deserved a goodbye. You promised me you'd stop hiding these things from me. You promised! Last nights memories, still vivid were now haunting me. I could still feel his warm lips on me, his hands exploring every part of me, the look in his eyes that showed nothing but pure admiration and love for me. I could recall his soft I love you's and his fingers running through my hair as I was falling asleep...Wait...he whispered something to me 'That’s all I want. Just you and me. Always. No matter what happens, I'm with you..Forever.'
Oh God, he was saying goodbye and I didn't even notice. No, no, no. That can't be our last moment together, I'm not ready. My vision started blurring with all the tears that came rushing to my eyes, spilling over like a river ready to join the ocean that danced before me.
The ocean used to calm me, it was my escape, my safe harbor. My grandma named me Darya for the same reason. She always said that her connection to nature, ocean especially was a big reason why she stayed in Forks. She was a New York girl, never once went on any kind of nature trips. Once she did, she ended up in Forks, met my grandfather and never left. I never got to spend much time with either of them as my mother didn't want me anywhere near Forks, but that one time my grandmother brought me here I never wanted to leave either. I didn't like the lack of sun, never was a fan of cold. However, that forest in her backyard, the ocean on the reservation were drawing me to them. It was an undeniable pull. Grandmother would often tell me I can do anything I want if I concentrate hard enough, trusted myself, anchored my heart, soul and mind in nature.
„Nature will always answer your call for help“, she'd say. With tears still streaming down my face, I could do nothing but sit cross-legged on the stone ledge of the cliff and stare at the horizon in front of me.
Waves were crashing below me on the hard rocks, as my mind fills with many memories now tarnished with untold tragedies. I could feel my brain was getting foggy with all the thoughts of past, present and future swirling around me, making me unsteady with all the unanswered questions. My mind fought hard to drum up a thousand different descriptions of Paul, to remember every line, jaw clench, smile, nose twitch, eyebrow raise, eye squint, everything. Fog that had started clearing from my mind as his image became clearer seemed to surround me now. Each thought I had seemed loud and exposed, just like every movement I made in the silence trying to shake the fog that wrapped around me almost as the same as that faithful morning I met Paul. Maybe the fog was somehow in me, just as I was in it. The mist swallowed the base of the cliff, it smothered the greens of the leaves, the grass and the underbrush of the forest behind me. It leached out their color, turning everything the same stony grey as the rock. I wasn't scared, I hoped that this mist was turning into a dense fog on the battlefield as well as it would help disguise the pack and the coven from the newborn army of the undead. Maybe it could help them make it back home. Sam, Jared, Paul, Embry, Quil, Jacob, Leah, Seth...just come home.
Paul's POV
We were preparing for the battle, going over some last minute details when I felt immense anger, fear and sadness in my heart. I knew Ria finally woke up and found out we were gone. I knew I should have told her, given her a chance to say goodbye, I was going to do it, I was. Initially I was going to tell her three days ago, when we knew as well, but she wasn't sleeping and was already worried all the time, I just didn't want to add on to it by putting an official date to our possible departure. I held off until yesterday, I wanted to tell her, but then things went in a different direction. Just as my mind started to wander to last night Sam and Embry both warned me of the mind link and yelled at me to keep daydreaming for my human form.
'You know, if the vamps don't kill you, she will', Embry thought.
'I know, but I couldn't tell her. She was finally sleeping, at peace, completely safe and happy. If I said something...I just didn't want her to worry. I hoped we'd be done by now', I said through the mind link.
'Focus on finding a spot to hide, they'll be here soon', Sam barked out an order.
'There's nowhere to hide but the tree line. We'll be easily spotted since we ARE giant furballs' Embry continued using Ria's nickname for the pack causing my heart to beat faster. I hope she can forgive me.
Out of nowhere, a bone-chilling mist clung to every surface around us as it quickly thickened into a dense fog. I blinked a few times, surprised by the sudden onset of the grey surrounding us. It reminded me of the freaky fog that morning I met my butterfly.
'This fog covers us better then any tree. Thank you Mother Nature' Jared pipped in clearly happy with the way things were going.
I looked to the clearing, Cullens were taking their places which meant we were about to have company. Time to rip off some heads.
I see the whole newborn army blitz out of the woods and into the field with frenzy in their red eyes, running as their rabid thirst takes over following the scent of Bella's blood. But the scent trail ends here which confused them and as they looked around suddenly something bolts from the trees with lightning speed and tackles a newborn as the other newborns spin to find a lethal-looking Jasper in a crouch beside his victim's body. Gotta admit, that was pretty good..for a vampire.
They rush Jasper but he doesn't hesitate – Bam! Bam! Bam! Three of them go down, tackled by Esme, Rosalie, Carlisle, Emmett and Alice. Sam orders us to go in. Jared and I follow Sam as we lung out of our foggy cover tearing a newborn to pieces. Just as we jumped in, the fog is completely lifted. What the hell?! I see others diving into the fray, now all of us smashing them one by one brutally. The big muscled idiot sprints full-bore into the fight, relishing the battle. We work as a pack, coordinated, deadly as Jasper controls the field – strategy and speed vs strength. The blonde one, Rosalie fights with icy calm. Alice with her ability. Esme and Carlisle fight side by side. The newborns are brutal and strong as hell. I found out the hard way when one kicked me into my ribs causing me to fly back hitting a tree. It only angered me more. I have to return to Arya, I can't leave her alone. I shake my head and run back into the battle grabbing a newborn by it's shoulder ripping it off with one clean bite. Turning I see Jacob charging into the clearing, tackling a newborn, going for it's neck. Sam and Jacob charge a newborn – each wolf grabs an arm in the mouth and rips him apart. I turn and find myself surrounded by three newborns, ahh GREAT! Suddenly the big muscled idiot...No..Emmett comes to my aid. I sent him a look, sort of a battlefield rapprochement.
From Seth's thoughts I could hear Victoria was with them, and she wasn't alone. Damn it! We shouldn't have sent him alone! But I can't think about that as another newborn launches itself on me trying to wrap it's arms around me. I manage to shake him off, while Jared finishes him off for me. Embry was finishing off the one on my left with Leah so I was in the clear for now. I concentrated to see how Seth was doing, just in case if the pup needed help but thankfully he was already finishing the leech off all by himself. It gave me a sense of pride, our puppy was finally killing his first vamp.
As I look around I see the battle was over. All over the field there were scattered body parts, Cullens were already pilling them up and setting a fire to make sure everyone was truly dead. Edward, Bella and Seth soon join us on the clearing. I see that the Cullens also took a young vampire with them making me snarl but Sam stops me. Jacob comes into the clearing after chasing a vamp in the woods and starts walking toward Bella, images of her kissing him before the battle start popping in...disgusting. He kissed a leech lover, ugh. But suddenly we  hear a vicious snarl coming from behind him in the woods, and he spins to see Leah cornering one last male newborn who was hiding. Leah charges as Edward yells
„Leah, don't!“
The male newborn maneuvers out of her way, spins and grabs her ruff, fiercely yanking her off her paws but Jacob leaps on the vamp tackling him, they roll into the clearing where Jacob bites a piece of his face off. But the leech gets his arms around Jacob and crushes him, hurting not only Jacob, but in a way all of us as we could sense his pain. He howls in agony as Bella runs to him. We jump at the bloodsucker, detach it from Jake and finish him off. Jacob unwillingly shifts into his human form and we soon follow not wanting to feel his agony and pain any longer. He's naked, grotesquely twisted and broken, barely able to breathe. Carlisle quickly examines him as he writhes in pain; Edward steadies him, gripping his hand.
Getting dressed as fast as we could, we race back to our brother.
Leah yells, worry and pride laced in her voice:“Jacob, you idiot. I had it.“
If you had it why didn't you handle it right away....I kept my mouth shut even tho' i was seconds away from shifting again. Think of Ria, her chubby cheeks, her warm eyes, the way her gentle hands runs circles on my back to soothe me.
Sam steps in and warns her:“Leah!“
Carlisle continues his examination:“I need to set the bones before his accelerated healing kicks in. It's already starting.“
Oh, this is going to be bad. If Jacob heals, they'll have to break his bones again.
„We need to get him out of here. We're not gonna win a fight with the Volturi.“ Edward exclaims as Sam states: „We'll take him back to Billy's.“
„I'll be there as soon as I can.“ Carlisle assures us as Bella mumbles something to Jacob.
Each of us stand around Jacob, slowly lifting him as he cries out in pain. We move fast trying to keep him as steady as possible to minimize the pain he must be feeling. Finally coming to his house, leaving the woods I see Billy on the porch waiting for his son to return. Rachel wasn't there, she probably went back to Seattle like she always planned. I never asked Jacob, it didn't occur to me at all. I felt guilty because I knew she really liked me, I mean I liked her too, but I was never serious about us. I made that clear to her from the beginning.
Setting Jacob on his bed I walked outside, giving a curt nod to Billy and leaned back on the side of the house. I wanted to go to Arya, more then anything, but I had to be here. If Sam and Jared weren't leaving, I couldn't either. We were all outside listening to Jacob's painful cries and grunts, Embry and Quil were with him trying to keep him calm. Soon Carlisle arrived and as we all feared he had to break all the bones AGAIN as they were healing in the wrong way. Screams of agony came from the house making me flinch with each one. If only she was here it might make all of this a little more bearable. Out of the corner of my eye I see Emily and Kim arrive..wait..where is Arya?! They were reuniting with Sam and Jared but I was losing it.
I jumped up and ran to them:“Emily, where is Arya?!“
She looked at me, her lip quivering. Why was she holding back tears?
„Emily, where is SHE? Is she okay?“ I repeat.
Emily looks at Sam, then me and finally speaks up:“When she found out you all left for the battle, she left. Just walked outside and ran into the woods. She didn't return.“
I felt a sinking feeling of despair settle in my heart. The voices around me were muffled, it almost felt like the world was spinning, and I just wanted to sit down. My words and my actions divergent, they pull in opposite directions as if my brain's the narrator and body a navigator and they have entirely different ideas about the world. I talk the talk of the valiant protector, yet when push comes to shove I'm useless.
„She ran into the woods and didn't return“, I repeat with my body shaking. „IT'S ALMOST NIGHT, WHAT DO YOU MEAN SHE DIDN'T RETURN?“ I was losing control and fast, but I had to keep it together long enough to find out where she is. What direction did she run in? Something, anything.
„That's enough Paul“, Sam cuts me off. „If she was hurt you'd know. If she's not back in an hour, we'll all go look for her“, he finishes, but I could hear the underlining alpha voice he used on me. My whole being was screaming to go and find her but I couldn't move. He definitely used his alpha voice.
The fear caused my thoughts to loop around in my mind until there was no room for anything else. Dread owns me, pushing against me like an invisible gale. Dread has my stomach locked up tight, nothing getting in or out, my jaw clenched, teeth locked tight together. The wall clock ticks like the timer on a bomb. I can't stop it, reverse it or slow it down. Each tick drags me forward, helpless and nervous to the allotted time. I can no more avoid it than the beating of my own heart as it pounds with futility against it's cage of bone and cartilage. The dread is an invisible demon sitting heavy on my shoulders and only I can hear the sharpening of it's knives. I sweat and the tremor in my hands begins. My brain is numb and my stomach nauseous. All I can do is wait. My train of thought is broken by the sound of Bella's old truck.
She hurriedly climbs out and as she reaches the porch a loud yell of excruciating pain emanates from inside the house; Jacob. Bella flinches, almost like she's feeling the pain herself like we all do. I see Billy is trying to keep it together. Emily, next to him, puts an arm around his shoulders.
Quil is the first one to speak up:“It's been going on for a while.“
Embry continues:“Doc's re-breaking his bones.“
Leah paces in front of the house, visibly upset, but too proud to admit she would have been in the same situation, if not dead if Jake didn't step in.
Leah starts rambling:“Why'd he have to butt in? I could've taken that tick...“ Which caused me to speak for the first time since my conversation with Sam:“Oh, give it a rest, Leah.“ I say, my voice weak and cracking as my worry and anxiety levels are at an all time high. As the door opens, Sam and Carlisle exit, we all spin toward the front doors waiting to hear the news. Carlisle let us know that the worst is over and that he'll be alright. Billy exhales heavily, tears threatening to spill as Sam puts a hand on his shoulder. Emily wraps an arm around Sam's waist to comfort him, Jared wraps his arms around Kim...Where are you Ria?
I release a shaky breath. Carlisle lets us know he gave Jake some morphine but with our temperature he will definitely need a bigger dose so he promises to return soon with a drip. Carlisle turns to Bella:“He's asking for you.“ We all look at her. A combination of pleading – “don't hurt him” – and threatening – “if you hurt him” – as she walks inside, probably to break his heart for the hundredth time. I turn to Sam:„Now can we please go find her.“ He nods and I run to the trees almost immediately the pack following close behind.
„Find who, what's going on?“ I hear Embry ask.
„Ria ran out this morning straight to the woods and never came back.“ Sam replies moments before he shifts. The rest doing the same.
'Why would she do that?' Jared questions through the mind link.
'Because Paul was an ass and didn't tell her about the battle. Didn't even say goodbye.' Embry fills him in making me snap in his direction.
'I'll start at the house and follow her scent from there' I say already running in that direction.
Sam sighs and starts barking out orders. He sent Leah and Seth west to the border, but I doubt she'd go that far...at least not by choice. Embry and Quil went north and Sam took Jared east. I didn't get any specific orders, I just followed her scent which really did lead south, the only direction no one was sent in. I ran as fast as my paws would allow me. The scary fact is I didn't feel anything on her side, no emotion, nothing. I knew she was alive, because if she wasn't I'd be in agony as well. Well, more then I am right now. But why couldn't I sense her emotions right now?
The thought prompted me to run faster, the voices coming from the mind link were quiet and jumbled, I didn't pay attention. I ran till I got to the cliffs. Just as I was about to question my sense of smell I realized my nose wasn't wrong. She was there, lying on the ground. She wore a green sweater and black jeans with her combat boots. Her eyes were open, watching the sky above, stars already out shinning bright. I felt she was cold, really cold...how long did she lay there? She's freezing! I shifted quickly grabbing the denim shorts hidden beneath a rock just a few feet away and hurried back.
„Ria?“ I called. She didn't respond. „Ria“, I repeat a little louder, reaching for her, worried if she was okay. Her eyes shifted from the sky and focused on me for the first time.
„Paul?“ She asked her voice cracking.
I nod and sit beside her slowly wrapping my arms around her trying to warm her up.
She didn't say anything, just hugged me back, resting her head on my chest, warm tears running down her face.
She backs up to properly look at me, putting her hands on my face turning it slightly right, then left, trying to see if I was hurt in any way.
„I'm okay, we all are. Jake got hurt saving Leah, but he'll be fine.“ I say before she even asks. Pulling her closer I nuzzle my face in the crook of her neck, inhaling deeply just to feel her beautiful scent again. But her usual smell was mixed with something else beside the rocks and trees and the ocean that surrounded us. It was blood.
„Ria, I smell blood. Are you okay? Where are you hurt?! I ask, slightly panicking, giving her a once over.
„I'm fine you silly wolf, it was just a nose bleed.“ She replies giving me a beautiful smile that lit up my whole world.
„You're not angry anymore? I thought you'd kill me when I came back.“ I ask.
„Oh, thanks for reminding me. I'm angry all right!“ She said getting up pointing her finger at me.
„Why the hell would you do that to me? I deserved better than to wake up alone after our first night together! I deserved to say goodbye to you, to wish you good luck, to kiss you once more! But you robbed me of that! What if you didn't come back? Do you have any idea how I'd feel?! I'd choose death over that faith! No doubt in my mind! You made me a promise Paul Lahote and you broke it. And if you ever do that again I won't be so forgiving next time. Do we have an understanding?!“
She finishes, her face slightly red from all the yelling, eyes narrowed slightly, her finger still pointing at me. I grab her finger softly and pull her closer kissing it lightly before I got up as well.
„I'm sorry I broke my promise. I just didn't want to worry you more then you already were. You were soundly asleep for the first time in weeks and I didn't want to be selfish and wake you up only to give you bad news. It won't happen again. Now please let me carry you back, you're freezing.“
I took her in my arms bridal style, and walked back to the house. On the walk back she fell asleep almost instantly as she warmed up. I walked inside, the boys were already there. They must have known I found her through the link. As they saw us, the room went quiet.
„She's fine, just sleeping. I'll take her upstairs to bed.“ I whisper and see them all relax.
Setting her on the bed I pull off her boots knowing she hates to sleep in her shoes. Putting a blanket over her body I kiss her softly on the forehead.
„Goodnight my beautiful butterfly. I'll come back later if Sam lets me. I love you“ I whisper and go downstairs slowly to eat something and exchange our stories of today's events.

Sleeping With the Enemy: Eclipse
Weeks pass with the Cullens never far from me before Jacob finally confronted Edward and I in private. He reminds Edward that the wolf tribe and the Vampires will go to war if they bite a human. I could see Jacob seething in anger, knowing full well that the Cullens have left a trail of bodies in their wake miles long but not having the proof needed to convince his elders to risk the lives of his kin. The message was clear, the wolves knew I was with them and would take my disappearance as a declaration of war and Jacob would make it his personal mission to avenge me. I had never been so mad at my friend. I know he meant well but his blundering idiocy could jeopardize my plans and I couldn't let him stand in my way. I needed to find a way to get away from the Cullens and to find a way to tell him everything in secrecy.
More than a month passes with Edward by my side every day as news is reported of murders happening in Seattle. Edward dismissed the news and I could see when I looked into his eyes that he thought I would trust him as though his word were truth. Part of me knew that after a century hunting my kind Edward had so little regard for humans that it must never have even crossed his mind that I might see through his lies. Carlisle might have been the mastermind of the clan but he at least had the decency to respect me as an adversary. I would take personal pleasure in looking into Edward's eyes as the light faded from them.
I couldn't take any more of the overbearing, patronizing bullshit. Thankfully I knew exactly what strings to pull to get what I wanted out of Edward. I told him that I wanted to visit my mother Renee, that it might be the last time I see her while I still lived. Naturally he came along, most likely under strict orders from Carlisle to never leave my side until the wedding day. I at least got to enjoy watching him squirm as he tried desperately to find excuses to stay out of the sun. In a beach House. In Florida.
As my mother and I laid on the beach she half turned to me, eyes closed "Aren't you going to miss this?" For just a moment I thought she might know. That she might somehow have found out everything. "Don't you just feel the Vitamin D soaking up in your pores?" Of course she was just talking about the sunshine. I almost cried in frustration. "Yeah I am gonna miss this…" We made small talk about colleges and she asked about Edward. "You're different with him." "I don't know we're just…" "In love. I get it. I just want to make sure you're making the right choices for you. You're the one that's going to have to live with it." As impossible as it would have been for her to know what Edward was, what I was planning to become to stop him and Carlisle, it sounded like she knew and was trying to tell me.
I couldn't find the words to respond and just like that the moment had passed. My mother had gone back to being cheerful bubbly Renee who had run off to grab a graduation present. She had made a quilt for me of all the old shirts we had collected on our trips through my childhood. It was a symbol of a more innocent time and though I may have to soon give up my soul I would at least be able to carry this to remind myself of what I once was. I hugged her as tight as I could hoping against hope that somehow she knew and somehow she approved.
We returned to Washington and Jacob confronted us again. A vampire had been seen on tribal lands and Edward told me that Victoria had returned and was seeking revenge for her murdered lover James. I had almost forgotten how the Cullens had pinned the murders on James over a year ago and had executed him. His dying screams stayed with me but he had been so unimportant I had forgotten his name. Undoubtedly Carlisle had let his clan get too sloppy in their kills and was now setting up Victoria as well. A part of me wondered if they would get around to painting a target on Laurent's head as well, assuming they hadn't already killed him for his failure.
I needed now more than ever to find time to tell Jacob my plans so that he might stop confronting us in parking lots. Not only was it risking everything, his impotent threats were making me lose faith in him. I would need my wolf allies to have bite to go with their bark. Once again I put on my innocent face and asked him if I could make things right with my old friend. Edward agreed to let me visit the tribal lands while he went out and hunted. To have him so casually admit that he was about to go slake his deadly thirst right to my face enraged me more than I had ever felt in my life. At that moment I don't think I would have needed the supernatural strength to rip him limb from limb. Somehow I calmed myself and let him go. I rushed as fast as I could to Jacob's tribe and being and I tried to tell him. I really did. I tried to tell him everything, but maybe I shouldn't have led with my plan to have Edward turn me into a vampire. Jacob begged me not to change, told me that he loved me, that I wouldn't have to change for him. Jacob, again if you're reading this: you're an idiot. I let my own anger at him get the better of me and stormed off.
It hurt that he would think I would give up my humanity for anyone, or that I was doing it because I was in love. It hurt that so many people, even the ones who knew of this other world, would underestimate me. It hurt most of all that the only one who seemed to even think me as dangerous was the monster leading them all. Was I becoming the same as him? Manipulating people towards my own ends. Seeking power to further my own plots. Treating my oldest friend as either an ally or a hindrance instead of the kind soul who only a few months prior had been there to help drag me from my depression. Like the rest of the Cullens, Carlisle had swept into my life, destroyed everything and left me a shattered husk of humanity driven only by my own bloodlust. I didn't need the change to become a monster, I already was one. My only choice now was to be a better monster than him. I couldn't let the Cullens hurt my family or friends.
I couldn't let them come to open war as that would mean the death of the tribe who had at one point been willing to accept me as one of their own. I decided to give them a common enemy, thankfully the Cullens had already manufactured one for me. I told Edward about the murders and disappearances in Seattle being connected with Victoria. I told him that she must have been raising a Vampire army to take on the Cullens for killing James. I convinced him that if she had an army that the Cullens alone couldn't handle them and would need the help of the wolves, that they would be allies to help keep vampires from overrunning their lands. Turning their own lies against them felt better than anything had felt for a long time.
I spent the next few weeks finding ways to broker peace between the wolves and vampires and finally an alliance was struck. The wolf pack would assist the Cullens to hunt down Victoria and would fight on the same side in the event that she showed up with an army. It was a temporary truce but I had assumed that with graduation and my wedding approaching that it would buy enough time for me to gain the power I needed to fight with my friend. It was the biggest miscalculation I had ever made. Mere days after graduation Victoria appeared with dozens of freshly turned Vampires. I knew Carlisle would call my bluff but I didn't realize how many of his own kind and mine he would sacrifice to prove a point. I can just imagine him screaming to the winds "IF SHE WANTS AN ARMY I'LL GIVE HER A GODDAMN ARMY!"
Edward and Jacob ran with me to the mountains to keep me away from the fighting. The cold mountain air bit into me but it paled in comparison to the realization that I had given Carlisle an excuse to slaughter and turn even more humans. I held Jacob closely trying to keep from losing my mind telling Edward that I just needed the body heat since Edward couldn't provide any. If Edward hadn't been there I would have wept, I would have told Jacob everything, I might have even run off with him but my vampire keeper was watching our every move. Jacob, the dense, horny idiot that he is tried to kiss me. Feeling betrayed that my oldest friend couldn't simply be there for me I showed him the ring Edward gave me. I know it hurt Jacob and right then I didn't care.
To his credit Jacob stayed and when Victoria found us Jacob fought alongside Edward. He might be a fool, he might not understand a damn thing about emotions, but at least Jacob knows when it's time to stand and fight. Victoria nearly had the upper hand for a moment and knowing full well that Edward would not step in to save a wolf I cut my hand letting the smell of my blood drive her into a frenzy and distract her long enough to make a difference. Watching Victoria die, knowing that she was complicit in Carlisle's schemes and that she was being betrayed by her own kind in the end, it renewed my sense of purpose. The Volturi appeared soon after to clean up the remains and kill remaining newly turned vampires, further cementing my theory that Carlisle is either pulling their strings or one of their own.
Jacob ran after the fight, feeling as though I had betrayed his people to the vampires. I was losing my friend and there wasn't anything I could do about it. That night as Edward held me in my bed, keeping a sleepless watch over the traitor in their midst I cried for the first time since the Cullens had come back into my life. I wept openly, not caring who saw or heard. I cried in frustration over the things I had already lost and the things I would soon lose. I cried in pain for my friend who I had hurt knowingly in an act of spite. I cried for the lives that Carlisle had thrown away to keep up a lie. I cried so that I would know that I was still alive, that whatever I would become after being turned that at this moment I was still human and I would be the monster that would make the other monsters pay.
Since then the wedding plans have come together quickly. Whatever Carlisle's game is he wants to get this over with. Today two years of plans come to fruition. Today I will die. Today I can only hope to take my enemies with me. Today is my wedding. You can call me Bella Swan.
