about two months ago i got sick. it seemed like a typical cold. the usual symptoms. except one ear suddenly felt like it was “plugged.” like my hear became muffled to the point of near-deafness. i still have this issue today (going to see a specialist soon). and on top of this, at least for the first few days i became....dumb.

that’s the only way i can explain it. i couldn’t think very deeply and i had memory issues. i just had this general sense of confusion and disorientation. fortunately this symptom slowly faded over the course of a couple weeks.

but it was such a weird sensation. to be unable to think deeply/critically about things. i was only capable of having surface-level thoughts and seemed to operate mostly on impulse. i could have /basic/ conversations but if a conversation go too complicated i’d have to check out.

but it just made me wonder if this is what “normies” feel like. because i know lots of people who /act/ like that’s how their thought process works. i felt like a fucking normie. my state of mind in those couple weeks was very different to the state of my mind at all other times. it’s legitimate creeps me out thinking about. 

i will never take my ability to have complex thoughts for granted again.
