I have some ideas for a comic that I'd like to do but I haven't written-#-it out yet becuase I want to get these designs done first and I think I'm about halfway through all the cats I have? across 5 different-#-clans two of which are very large so. #rambling#surprisingly this is not about jakob.. im just really consistent about my favorite character archetypes 😭😭#WARNING THE NOTES ON THIS ARE REALLY LONG I STARTED RAMBLING#“ouhh i have a headache i'll just lie down and rotate my blorbos in no general direction for a while until it goes away” and then boom.#serious plot considerations. 2 questions answered 24million new questions raised. this is specifically Not what i asked for.#so now im sitting here STILL dizzy running mental calculations on how i can get this bitch out of peril without reworking everything#but they literally keep dying in every timeline 😭😭 every single plausible road leads to them running off and screwing themself over#“character who doesn't realize they want to live until it's way too late to look back” VS#“character who is forced to live and handle the things they never though they'd survive long enough to deal with” FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT.#fucking hell i have never had this much trouble writing a character as i have with them#they genuinely do just run off and do shit without my permission and then i have to pace for an hour or two wondering#“ok they wOULD do that. but should they. do i feel like i can confidently write that.”#im like constantly in this tug of war trying to get them to CHILL#but also they are absolutely my favorite character from the entire project. but like. FUCK GET BACK HERE#is death the most satisfying end to this arc? is someone who was Set on dying then NOT dying the most satisfying end to the arc?#how many bridges can you burn until you irreparably set yourself aflame too?#would ghost or revival plotline work?? would it make sense with the worldbuilding??#do i just Like Them enough to want them to not die?? where do i draw the line between personal bias and a good arc?#is death not feeling as impactful as survival solely because i've been writing for so long that it's lost the initial impact?#and other such plot considerations...#im gonna have such an easy time writing another character though 😭😭 because THAT character's dynamic in the second act#is to stare at character 1 and be like “why are you like this. i mean i know Why but can you chill. please.” and like damn bro me too#actually wait no i think kaey.a is the hardest character i've ever written i take it back#had to worry about his 20million facades AND his Actual feelings AND canon compliance. shit is hard#i still havent finished the k/aeya fic i started back when the chasm first released which is uhh. two years ago. oops.#i think i struggle writing emotionally repressed liars i think thats what this is 😭😭 anyways.#(voice of guy who has been obsessed with nonlinear narratives and tragedies for several years):#“is it too much to kill this character in a nonlinear exploration game with tragic elements”#like bitch what are you talking about 😭😭 YOU'RE the target audience here figure it out#sorry the notes on this are just my writing journal now apparently

Today, nearly a decade after I first started reading the series... I have finally finished League of Dragons, and the Temeraire series as a whole.
#temeraire#god it's been a long time#my grandma got me the first two books for christmas nearly a decade ago#i red them#then i got books 3-8 on my Kindle#and read those as well#but League of Dragons wasn't out yet#and for whatever reason#i never got around to ever actually getting and reading it#until i started listening to the audiobooks at work#and now i can finally say#it's done#i've done it#and i have feelings#it's so strange#finishing a series i started so long ago#like saying goodbye to an old friend

okay hands down the best new mechanic for LoZ:EoW is the ability to warp around the dungeon, if I get stuck on a puzzle I can just warp away and try to solve a different part of the dungeon, if I get stuck on that puzzle I can go back to the first one with a slightly different mindset bc I'm now avoiding a different puzzle, it's great
#spent almost two hours in a dungeon today bc I somehow missed getting the map for 90% of the dungeon#do you understand now why I was never able to finish Majora's Mask#I am good at puzzles but sometimes I am not very fast at them bc I am overthinking the solution#I am also surprisingly good at missing getting dungeon maps#this is the like third or fourth LoZ game that I've gone into blind and couldn't find a map until near the end of the dungeon#(this time it was bc I made a wrong turn)#anyhow considering that I completed 1.5 dungeons my first day and 2.5 my second#I think the fifth dungeon actually being a little challenging for me was a good thing for my third day playing#(to be fair I am also taking time to explore I did not spend my entire time just lost in a Single Dungeon today)#(the game's fun and a lot closer to classic LoZ gameplay so I'm a lot faster/more comfortable playing it but I still wanna enjoy it)#anyhow EoW still continues to be an absolute delight of a game#will probably make my top 5 LoZ games at the rate things are going#oracle of lore

#for physicals i have 13 volumes of yona of the dawn. all of the rose of versailles. the first volume of the illustrated guide to monster#girls. and i need to reread tbhk or at least the first volume bc i told one of my kids at work that i'd let him read it while he's at the#program and i need to brush up on it bc it's been over a year.#and then for manga i don't have physicals of. i desperately need to reread and then catch up on kuro. considering everything the fact that#don't own the full series is a miracle probably prompted by how much my parents hated it up until the last few months when they suddenly#chilled tf out. i should get caught up on yuri is my job and finish killer in love. also i've sat down to read cocoon intertwined like 24#times and gotten distracted and didn't every single one. i've been meaning to reread ohshc and pick up kamisama kiss. fruits basket.#vampire knight. nana. the apothecary diaries and chainsaw man. and i should give goodnight punpun a proper read too#then there's all of clamp's works in release order bc i have two volumes of tsubasa but haven't touched them bc i need to go in#release order or i'll die. and now that i think about it i'm really behind on oshi no ko#+ i have a full google doc of manga i need to get too and this is just what i can think of off the top of my head so god knows#what else is in there#romeo.txt

I'm almost finished with this notebook with it's horrible paper, and I just finished the first page of my Big Project
#Oh yeah - it's all coming together#Hgggg I am so sick of this notebook! It's wack as fuck!#It has made editing a Chore for the past eight months >:0 Not fun or meditative At All#Even worse is that the paper feels good to draw on but the cleanup is just! Awful!#I've just been completely ignoring my non-lined homemade notebook because it feels bad to draw on lol#The rest of the doodles for this year - yes that's how far the queue is backlogged rn lol - are still on that paper#But at least I'm like ><this close to being done with it ugh#I've got two blank pages and then like three half-doodled on pages that I'm planning to just knock out#It looks so weird 'cause the pages are all out of order lol - the first page was in March and the last in November#But like the next page after the first is /also/ November lol#Like it's largely in chronological order but it jumps around quite a lot! It was an interesting experiment#I also think it's funny since the first page got some fandom stuff that didn't come back around until now but it Looks chronological lol#I think I'll do it again but with some modifications - if I run out of steam/interest/motivation then I can fill it in however I want#Keeping it on-theme is fun but I find myself pushing ideas when I don't actually have any :P That's no good#It's not Always bad - I like quite a few of my spacefiller ideas! But if anything that just proves that finishing things out to make room-#Well like I said it was fun lol#And! As stated! I was trained on TMA and Penumbra and Rex Rivetter for what I like#I’m into the scripted ones with a cast and narration of some kind.
