Buck’s 4a hair is actually Very Nice and a great length even if they don’t let the curls roam free. It’s only around 4x06/4x07 it starts to get too poofy like I’m watching 4x03 and my man has a burnt orange t-shirt on with his hair short at the sides and a nice little bit of floofiness to it on the top and he’s never looked better tbh

Hey there I've been seeing a lot of headcanons that all revolve around Ediie pining. Just wanna wrap my head around why people think it would be Eddie?? Imo Buck has been pining since he first saw Eddie hug Christopher in the earthquake ep. Thoughts please??
Hey! This is a really good question and I’m probably gonna ramble a lot sorry in advance lol
So I can obviously only speak for my myself and from what I’ve see and interpreted other people’s posts.
I was very pining buck as well up until 4x14. That hospital scene changed everything for me and that’s also when people started to be very vocal about pining Eddie. There had been some pining Eddie vibes in the treasure hunt episode too so let me talk about that before I jump into 4x14.
Eddie is clearly jealous of Taylor in treasure hunt at least to me he is. He’s put off by buck teaming up with her first. He’s making comments the whole time they’re planning. He’s side eyeing her and buck. For the first time he doesn’t have bucks full attention and he clearly hates it. We all made jokes and were living for it.
Then there was the scene with Carla in 4x13(Or was it 11? I don’t remember which episode someone correct me if I’m wrong) where she asks if Eddie’s following his heart then he looks at ana with Chris and when he looks away his face falls. Those were hints that something is different. Like I watched those scenes and was like “hmm...could this be? Am I just over analyzing?”.
But for me there was an obvious shift in Eddie during 4x14. The hospital scene happened and my first thoughts were “holy shit Eddie knows”. I never expected him to be the one pining but it makes sense. Maybe buck did realize earlier but didn’t think he had a chance so just kinda didn’t let himself go there. I think there’s a big possibility he could be completely oblivious to Eddie’s feelings. Buck doesn’t think very highly of himself and Eddie is trying to change his mindset by saying “look. I trust YOU with my son. My everything. You mean so much more than you think”. By entrusting Chris with Buck, Eddie is letting him (and us the audience) know that Buck is his family. Chris and Buck are the two most important people in the world to Eddie. More important than his parents, than his immediate family, than every single other member of his blood family, than every single member of his found family (even Bobby who is a father figure now), than Carla (who already watches Chris so he trusts her right?), and more important than his girlfriend. Before Buck walks in Eddie is sitting on the bed looking lost in thought. He’s thinking about Buck and how he needs to tell him. Needs to show him how important he is to Eddie. I really think Eddie knows and has accepted his feelings for buck are way more than bro-y platonic love.
Then buck gets a gf and Eddie still hasn’t broken up with his (but I don’t think that’s lasting any longer if they already haven’t broken up off screen or in a flashback). So we have Buck finally dating someone and Eddie being single and ready to make Buck a more permanent romantic member of his little family but not being able to do so because Buck’s happiness is the more important to Eddie than his own (he always puts others feelings before his own). Cue pining Eddie loving Buck but refusing to get in the way of what he thinks buck wants.

Buddie 4x14 review - if you haven’t watched it yet don’t read.
The episode starts where we left it, once Buck was on the ground, it seems like he was thrust back into reality. I noticed two things here (connected with 4x13) Eddie didn’t close his eyes until Buck was safe behind the truck on the ground. And the second thing is that Buck was spurred into action the moment Eddie’s eyes closed.
And I mean this was some BAMF Buckley right there, that was SEALS trained Evan Buckley! 😱🤩 It’s like training and instinct kicked in and all that mattered was to get to Eddie and get him help as soon as possible, sniper’s bullets be damned. I gotta say it was executed to perfection❣
Big kudos to both Oliver and Ryan for delivering this whole sequence in a heart-wrenching, beautiful manner.
The shooting doesn’t stop and they get Eddie out of there under fire, I really like the 133 captain and crew, they worked so well with the members of the 118, it seemed effortless. (I’m not touching that subject, but let’s picture Buck lifting Eddie bodily up into his arms and in to the truck for just a second here. - I mean we wanted it but not under these circumstances)
Buck taking the role of medic when finally getting Eddie into the truck, is so amazing, he’s usually the one either in need for treatment or the one who stands back and let’s Hen, Chim and Eddie do the medic stuff, it is their jobs after all, but he doesn’t sit back and let the medics of the 133 to take over, he does it himself.
He tore Eddie’s uniform’s buttons open (again, that’s not how any of us wished for this to happen), tore the pressure bandage wrap open and pressed it down on the wound, he did not step back from Eddie, until he absolutely has to, at the hospital. 😭
Eddie, my poor baby, was lying on the ground of the truck, bleeding and half conscious and the one thing he focused on was the blood on Buck’s shirt and he asked him if he’s hurt. I mean I could totally cry, because that’s Eddie. Best friend, combat medic, protective and caring, that never goes away even as he’s lying there bleeding. 🥺🥺
Eddie was legit ready to forget his injuries and try to get up and take care of Buck if he was hurt too. He loses consciousness only when Buck assures him that he’s not hurt.
Buck’s frantic litany of “Just hang on, we’re almost there.” and “I need you to hang on” (“I need you”, not we, not Christopher, “I need you”) was really hard to watch, because even though we all read and wrote it in fanfics thousands of times, watching it actually play out was heartbreaking, I totally teared up with Buck there.🥺🥺
For firefighters the job ends at the hospital doors, so Buck naturally, out of instinct stops from following. But that’s Eddie taken away from him and he looks frozen, at that moment he must have thousands of thoughts running around his head.
“You ok Buckley?”
Buck’s broken “No.” was maybe expected, but it was also earth shattering of sorts. This is Buck standing there, knowing (especially after the well incident) that when Eddie is not okay, he’s not either. 😭❤
I want to point out that I loved the fact that the 133 didn’t just drive away or waited outside for the cops, they went in after Eddie. And after trying to check in on Buck, the Captain of the 133 went in too.
I’m going to point out a parallel here between S3 Finale and S4 finale, in 3x18 Eddie asks Buck if he’s ok as his ex-girlfriend was taken in the ambulance with her new fiancé, Buck’s response was “What’s next?” and going back to work. He was okay, because Eddie was with him, and there was still work to be done.
Here in 4x14, Eddie is taken from him to the hospital, and Buck doesn’t know if he’ll live, so Buck’s obvious answer here is ‘No’.
Later we see Buck exiting the hospital, in his firefighter uniform. I’m a little disappointed we don’t see him cleaning up, I know that could have made for a hell of a scene, Oliver would have killed it, and us in my opinion.
Taylor is coming to the hospital, not as a reporter but as a friend. She was worried. I like that side of her, when she knows to put away the reporter and to make sure her friend is in one piece. Her character development is shown beautifully in this scene.
Buck, in no condition to pretend and speak to the press, turns away from her, he doesn’t trust her at that moment and he doesn’t trust himself not to break down there. He’s teary, still in shock and his hands are shaking like crazy. (in complete contrast to the usual Buck, where he can be in danger or wrap up a crazy rescue and he is normally completely steady.)
Taylor, offered to take Buck to Eddie’s house to see Christopher, telling him he can’t go see Chris looking like he does now. “You can’t got see his son like that.” - At first hear and several others it sounded like “Your son.” - of course it’s not but either way it would have been true too, because in a way Buck has been co-parenting Christopher for a very long time now. And indeed later when Buck gets to Eddie’s house he is washed and dressed in civilian clothes.
The scene with Oli and Gavin killed me! I thought for sure the breaking down will be done in private, but Buck couldn’t hold it together in front of Christopher once he found out Eddie is going to be ok, and Christopher comforting Buck was so so sweet.
Christopher’s “like the ones who fixed you?” Kind of gives us a certain idea as to the conversation Eddie had to have with Christopher when Buck was hurt. His sweet “Then he’s going to be ok,” he says it with such conviction, only adding “right?” only as an afterthought.
And as if he manifested it himself Buck then gets a text from Bobby that tells him that Eddie pulled through surgery and it looks good.
Buck actually dropped the phone from the relief and he started to cry, and sweet, adorable, national treasure Christopher puts an arm around him and tells him that Eddie is going to be okay. I definitely cried with Buck here. It was such a powerful scene and it was portrayed so well by Oliver and Gavin.
The “it’s going to be okay Buck” was kind of a call back to 3x01 - when Christopher reassures Buck and tells him “You’re going to be okay kid.” - I love these two together so much! ❤❤
When Bobby gives them the talk in the firehouse about how they proceed from there, Buck is standing with his arms crossed, looking completely dejected. And when Hen asks about the safety of their families, Bobby says there's no reason to believe they are in danger, Buck pipes in with “We didn’t have a reason to believe Eddie will get shot helping a kid either.” Buck is traumatized, and worried, he sleeps at Eddie’s house looking after Christopher.
I loved Christopher waking Buck up, and them having cereal breakfast together, a call back to Eddie and Christopher having breakfast together in 2x04. Buck doesn’t sit next to Chris, but across from him - to me it says that the seat between them is usually reserved to Eddie when they’re together at the house.
I love how Christopher’s teasing Buck about him snoring. And Buck is later confused because he’s unsure of whether or not Chris really understands what’s happening, but Carla assures him that he already lost his mother, unfortunately he understands better than he or she thinks. Which again should give people a new appreciation for Christopher’s sunshine child attitude.🥺❤
Carla showing up to take Christopher to school, is showing relief that Buck could finally sleep, which means that he didn’t for at least a couple of nights. She’s also asking him how it feels to go to work, Buck doesn’t even think about the sniper, for him all that matters is that Eddie is not out there with him and it feels off. (call back to 2x18 when Eddie seemed pensive about being back at work but Buck was not with them.)
Carla, bless her, retorts that that is not what she was asking - obviously she meant, she was worried about the sniper, but that is not Buck’s main worry, his head and his heart are somewhere else.
The crane scene was insane! I laughed when Chimney looked to Bobby and asked him “Can you blame him cap?” and Bobby flat out responded “Yeah!” 😂
The rescue was really impressive. However if Eddie ever found out about this he would probably hit Buck over the head with something heavy. It just goes to show that Eddie is Buck’s impulse control and vice-versa.
Bobby and Buck’s interaction wasn’t one of anger, Bobby was terrified and Buck was guilty but unapologetic, because he couldn’t protect Eddie but he could protect the rest of his family, so he did just that. Bobby didn’t have anything to say other than give him the same response Eddie did in Monsters - “Don’t do it again.” - Because for one, in my opinion, Bobby knows where Buck is coming from and also Bobby knows, he knows Eddie is Buck’s impulse control, knows he’s his anchor, he knows that Buck will only be his relatively normal self when Eddie comes back.
I’m not even going to touch the Taylor scene, yes she was worried, and yes she scolded him in a friendly way, but that kiss felt so out of left field for me, especially since Buck was just packing a bag to go stay with Christopher and Eddie was still unconscious at the hospital.
Also she freaking friendzoned him last episode, how fickle do male writers think women are? She gets a little scared and kisses the guy? Lucky they didn’t write in a sex scene! That was an insult to women everywhere in my opinion. It could have been set in so many better opportunities, why now? And if she’s scared now what’s to say that won’t make her leave like Ali did? I have a whole tirade about it but I will let it go for now.
Now I know ya’ll are like - Eddie woke up because his spidey senses told him someone was kissing his Buck (and I do not negate that point lol), but he just woke up and he asked for Buck. I find it so deliriously endearing that I need a moment even as I’m writing this.🤗🤗
I have to point out that there is no scene of Buck, Eddie and she who will not be name together other than the second when Buck walks in (read ran through the hospital corridors) and Eddie has only eyes for his partner. 👀❤
Afterwards it just the two of them, with a brief facetime to Christopher. I love that Eddie thanks Buck for staying with Chris, and Buck pretty much breaks down the logic behind the decision, like a true parent. - Christopher’s comfort came first in Buck’s eyes, and really that just demanded a hug right there.
“Is he doing ok?”
Buck’s response here, was very honest, a lot more honest than I expected, “better than me.” He said. Buck openly admits to Eddie, “I kinda lost it when I told him you got shot. I’m sorry I should have held it together.” To be honest, I’m very curious as to the ins and outs of Buck and Eddie’s friendship, especially during quarantine, they seem so much closer, a lot more open. More honest than you'd expect two male, straight, lead characters to be with their friends.
Buck would have played it down and shared only the essentials when it’s anybody else. With Eddie he openly saying here, in his own way, ‘I was terrified, and heartbroken, and ‘couldn’t imagine my world without you.’ - ‘I couldn’t function with a clear head.’ - ‘all my masks were shattered.’
“You were there for him when I couldn’t be, that’s what matters.” Eddie knows, buck, he understands him better than anyone, he’s telling him here in his own way that it’s okay, and he loves him just the way he is - it was his way to reassure Buck that he was doing just fine.
But Buck’s “Still I think it might have been better for him if I was the one who got shot.” - Eddie looked like he was ready to get up and smack some sense into Buck.
I want to point out that Buck’s response to Eddie being hurt or in danger is nowhere near the same as his response to anyone else in danger. Case in point in 4x14 is Bobby, he is inside, probably injured, in a fire with a gunman - if it was Eddie, Buck would have waited 0.1 seconds before he disappeared back into the flames to help Eddie.
With Bobby, he was calm, cool, calculated, he knew what Athena would do because that’s exactly what he would have done if it had been Eddie and he is ready with helpful details and a plan. He wants to go with her, but doesn’t argue when she says no.
Eddie is Buck’s Bobby, and it reflects all throughout this episode, and I think I had some parallels pointed out in 4x13 too. So I don’t know what scripts Tim reads or if we’re all watching the same show but buddie exists and thriving as far as I’m concerned.
Buck is also the one to pick Eddie up at the hospital - he tells him that the nurse is getting his meds and discharge papers ready, which means that Buck did all that process, he was busy getting Eddie discharged. (Take a moment to soak it in.)😌
Eddie sits Buck down to talk, to be honest this talk went pretty much the way I expected it.
Eddie explains why he had his will updated, and that Buck is Christopher’s legal guardian if anything happens to Eddie. - I love that after all this time, sweet Buck is still surprised.
He asks if Eddie didn’t need his consent for this and Eddie’s reply is: “My attorney said you could refuse.”
I also love, that even shell-shocked, Buck knows that Eddie knows him “You know I wouldn’t.”
And Eddie assures him that he does in fact know Buck, and he knows that Buck loves Christopher as much as Eddie does “I know you wouldn’t.”
(”I had to do it.” - “Yeah, I know you did.” this was a call back to 4x05 where Eddie understood why Buck did what he did. And knowing what we know now, I can assume that even though Eddie understood and forgave Buck, he didn’t have to like it.)
“No one will ever fight for my son as hard as you.” - call back to 3x03 anyone?
“There’s no one I trust with my son more than you.” - and Eddie proves it time and again.
And here he is basically giving Buck permission to give hell to his parents or anyone who tries to take Christopher away from His Buck. - And I love it!! 🤗❤
Buck, smart, handsome guy that he is, asks the right question again - “Why are you just telling me now?”
“Because Evan.” That first name that even took Buck by surprise, because Eddie only ever called him Buck, to our knowledge anyway. - Eddie was talking to Evan Buckley, not Buck, and yes they are two separate entities living inside one hunky firefighter. - This is Eddie saying, I know you’re frayed around the edges, I know I’m asking for a lot right now but I need you to hear me.
“You came in here the other day and you said it would have been better if you who were the one who was shot,” and I think for Eddie, who was lying on that firetruck floor bleeding out, and his only concern was that Buck may have been hurt, that was the worst thing Buck could have said.
“you act like you’re expandable but you’re wrong.”
Eddie has been where Buck is at that moment, losing his wife, watching his best friend nearly die time and again. - Really at this point Eddie just wants him safe, and if telling him about Christopher is what will do the trick, then he is not above playing dirty.
Eddie is telling Buck, you are my partner, you are Christopher's second parent, I love you, Christopher loves you, I don’t know what I’d do without you. - Because Eddie has been without Buck before and he was completely lost. - And that’s before they became even more intertwined as they are now.
I love the second before Buck and Eddie enter, Eddie’s house, before Buck opens the door, Eddie looks like he’s steeling himself to get in and Buck has a knowing grin on his face, somewhere between ‘ready?’ and ‘they’re happy you’re back be nice.’ 👀😂
I hated the jump forward, but everyone standing on the roof looking good and Eddie with those sunglasses? wow!! 🥵🤩
This was an all out buddie episode, and I was totally there for it!! I really hope for many more, because these two give me life!!

MacGyver 5x01
After the long wait MacGyver has returned with a kickass premiere. And because the wait was too long, my review will be long too! So you are warned.
The episode was great. Loved the John Wick references, the storyline was solid, pacing was good, action scenes were brilliant and the fight choreographies are getting better and better each season so this episode also did not that dissapoint on that front. And bcoz i missed all the characters so freaking much, having them back felt so good.
Vincent is probably one of my favorite guest stars ever on this show. Loved the humor he brought to the scenes and i think he had great chemistry with both Russ and Mac. I wasn’t even sorry that he double crossed them coz he did it so smoothly! LOL
In another life Mac and Vincent could have been best buddies!
Girls Team & Boys Team
One of the things i loved about this episode was the “tension” between the characters. I was glad to see that the whole Codex mess wasn’t glossed over.
It was nice to see Mac-Russ and Riley-Desi trying to save the day while dealing with their “trust issues”.
I really loved the paralel storytelling between Boys Team and Girls Team.
Last time it was MacRiley vs RussDesi… And now Matty mixes the teams so that they could regain some of the trust that was lost between them. I love you BOSS LADY!
Now this episode might have been “perfect” if it could have handled the Riley-Desi resolution better. I enjoyed how Mac-Russ made things work in the end. Russ already apologized Mac in 4x13 but in this episode we saw that his trust issues and paranoia were still going on. And Mac was having a hard time working with a guy that tried to “kill” him. DUH!
It was so good to see Mac saying everything that is needed to be said and in the end Russ finally realized the wrong in his behaviour and let Mac know that he has his trust from now on.
Riley&Desi
But IMO things didn’t end in a satisfying way for the Girls Team. The writers trying to “soften” Desi’s behaviour in 4x12 by throwing some of the guilt on Riley, left a bad taste in my mouth.
Desi says she could have joined Riley if she would have let her in on her plan.
And this is 100% NOT TRUE.
Lets remember 4x12 very quickly…
Mac’s gone rogue. Russ tells the team Mac is now an enemy of the state. Desi sides with Russ. Matty and Bozer are neutral. Riley tries to reason with everyone on the team.
“Guys, is this really neccessary?”
“Mac does everything for a reason.”
“Mac doesn’t have an evil bone in his body.”
While Riley tries to make Desi & the team change their minds about Mac, what does Desi do?:
Tumblr media
That’s not my interpretation guys, that’s canon. That is what happened in 4x12.
So we all know that Riley letting Desi in on her plan could only end with Desi stopping her. Desi’s mind was set, she didn’t trust Mac and she wanted nothing but to stop him. Let’s not change history!
Besides, why did Desi need Riley’s plan, couldn’t she come up with her own to save Mac if that’s what she really wanted to do?
So as you see, Riley apologizing to Desi was total BS. Desi was the only one who needed to say sorry and unfortunately the best she could do was to say “she regretted her choices”…  I think once again writers missed the opportunity for some character development for Desi. Desi needs to OWN her mistakes alone without other characters’ HELP.
The triangle
Because i’m an obssesed fan who likes to delve more deeply into the characters, i rewatched this episode and here’s the conclusion i’ve come:
Desi is angry and resentful. But not just angry at Riley but herself too. She says she regrets not being there for Mac and Riley. She knows she should have trusted Mac and messed up!
But i also sensed some jealously there. By the end of 4x13 Desi’s anger towards Mac seemed to dissapear. So why was Desi angry at Riley in 5x01?
Because as Mac’s girlfriend she should have been the one by his side when it really mattered.
Because as Mac’s partner, she should have been the one risking it all to protect him.
But it was Riley who did all that.
That’s why she’s projecting all her anger on Riley. Because she is jealous. And i think Riley noticed that too. Our queen is very perceptive especially when it comes to reading people’s emotions.
Throughout the episode she tried to make things work with Desi. But Desi blocked all her attempts. And when Desi opened up, Riley realized that there is a much deeper wound under all that anger. That’s probably why she apologized. It was Riley’s way of making things work. Riley was the bigger person here. She wanted peace, she needed a solution. So she said sorry
Back to Desi’s “jealousy”… When she asked Riley why she followed Mac, she was totally fishing for another answer.
Desi is not stupid she already knows the obvious answer. Riley followed Mac bcoz she trusted him. But that’s not what she was searching for. She asked the question to read Riley’s expressions and body language. And Riley felt that too… But bcoz our queen is a true queen she delivered the best line of the episode:
“Because i trust Mac. Question is why didn’t you?”
This line is heavy people! Riley counterattacks Desi. She is basically saying “Instead of interrogating me about my feelings how about you question yours?”
This episode might have resolved the Codex tension, but the triangle is still a reality. Both girls have feelings for Mac, so there’ll be more tension/awkwardness between them. Better get ready!
Timejump
10 months and a pandemic since Codex, huh?
We all know that the writers added that line and the information about Phoenix being shut down to fit the new episodes to a pandemic world. But for die-hard fans like us, it’s not working. The characters are acting like Codex happened yesterday, Riley recently moved to a new place which she was looking for in 4x11…
So i’m gonna ignore the 10 month time jump coz i know that the additional episodes weren’t designed that way.
Honourable mention
1 to 10, how hot was the opening scene? *cough 11 cough*
It was literally and figuratively HOT.
I really wanted and expected Mac’s towel to drop at some point. Obviously dissapointed when it didn’t! LMAO
Untill next week
To end my weekly MacGyver ramblings; i can say that i’m ok with the team resolving the tension. The episodes we are watching now were actually written as a continuation of season 4. Probably back in the day the writers didn’t want to keep the dark-tense episodes going forever so they needed to put an end to that and move to lighter and more fun dynamic.

our beautiful blue boi
@personinthepalace also sent me Brainy, so this is for you too!
1. sexuality headcanon: *to the tune of the NSYNC song* Bi bi bi~
2. otp: Karadox, obviously (with some Winndox and Brainysupes on the side)
3. brotp: Brainy & Alex!
4. notp: ….Brain*a….
5. first headcanon that pops into my head: Nura Nal was the one who sought Brainy out after he was arrested years ago, because she had a dream that told her he was destined to be a hero. She’s the one who gave him a choice and convinced him to join the newly created Legion (albeit reluctantly, until he learned about Kara through Mon-El and was finally inspired to actually be the hero Nura saw him as). That’s why he was so intent on helping Nia become a hero last season, because he felt like he owed it to her family to help/push her the same way Nura pushed him down the right path.
The impact that Nura had on Brainys life would also explain why he told Nia in 4x13 that they could create a paradox if they weren’t careful - because if they did something that caused Nura to no longer exist in the future, then Brainy would never have become a Legionnaire in the first place, and the version of him that we know would essentially cease to exist as well. Hence, a paradox.
Tumblr media
(Given what’s currently going on in the show don’t even get me started ugh and how the writers have seemingly forgotten that Nura canonically exists, it’s pretty obvious that this theory will never be canon. But since it hasn’t been outright disproven yet either, I’m still very much in a “the showrunners can pry this headcanon from my cold dead hands” mindset, lol.)
6. favorite line from this character: I have Many, but here’s two that are near and dear to my heart:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
7. one way in which I relate to this character: His social awkwardness, his snark, his valuing of logic over impulsive emotions when it comes to making decisions, his difficulties in telling sincerity from sarcasm, the way he breaks down and cries when he gets too stressed about a problem he can’t solve, and in general just the way his brain works differently than most people’s (oops that’s more than one way, OH WELL)
8. thing that gives me second hand embarrassment about this character: The fake voice/accent that Jesse’s been using since early season 4… T__T
9. cinnamon roll or problematic fave?

I don’t like echo but it’s not bc of the “threat” to bellarke (tho the idea def doesn’t help lol) I just never really like I guess connected to her and her trying to kill the homegirls Octavia and Clarke def don’t make it better. I mean she was constantly ignoring roan and doing stuff “for her people” but like roan is her people and he was trying to do the same thing but she kept doing shit which basically messed up the shit he was doing and like ugh so yeah lol
That’s so valid. She’s super problematic.
Okay, now I feel like I need to clarify my Echo stance some more. When I say I like her, that does not mean I approve of everything she does. What I mean is I like what she adds to the show. She’s an interesting character to study.
I find it interesting to see the impact that working under Nia has had on Echo long term. I think she obviously recognized Roan as her king and her people, but there was a disconnect there because Roan got banished. I always headcanon it that Echo felt like she knew more about how to rule Azgeda than Roan just because Nia basically abandoned Roan while she embraced Echo, making Echo more privy to understanding how Nia did things. Now, we all see Nia as a problematic, ruthless leader. But Echo? Nah. Nia was her family. So, Echo felt very confident that the way Nia taught her to handle things was of course the right way. Roan telling her it wasn’t? Well, clearly (to Echo) that was because Roan wasn’t properly educated on the right way to do things. And so Echo keeps doing what she thinks Nia would want her to do (a lot of times for the good of Roan, in her mind) and she doesn’t realize that it was wrong until Roan banished her and she finally had to deal with the consequences of her actions.
Obviously, this is all my headcanons right here, not canon fact or anything. But I think that Echo genuinely believes that everything she has done was for her people. I think she was raised in an environment that taught her it was okay to provoke wars and betray, because that is how Nia taught Echo how to take care of her people.
I think her connection to Bellamy was the first instance where that was challenged. And Bellamy insisting that her life is worth something in 4x13 after everything she did to him? That flipped everything she believed on its head and she’s about to spend six years relearning what it means to be loyal.

Happy New Year! Love your reasonable perspective on everything. I made a mistake by reading a bunch of SB nonsense due to a post by them on a WA page. They believe GBerlanti is taking over TF for the rest of the season and that it means less Iris/CP/WA, and even that the mysterious waitress has nothing to do with the WA storyline. That can’t be true, can it? Where do they get their information?
Have they ever said anything based on real information or facts other than their convictions, lol? Berlanti loves Iris and WA. He was the one that gave the order to showcase her more in S3, and clearly he okayed her being team leader in S4. Why would the show backtrack on the waitress being related to Westallen when that’s one of the things that’s gotten The Flash the most buzz this season - and it’s all been positive?
You can’t let SBs get to you.
Do you think that Barry might actually publicly reveal he’s the Fl@sh during the trial? Cuz I’m beginning to wonder if he’ll end up in the metahuman wing of Iron Heights...
I’m wondering about that, too. Obviously Devoe has the metas all clustered in one place for a reason. Maybe he expects Barry to reveal himself as the Flash so he can stick him there.
I had a similar thought that they'll do a time jump after the crisis and either have Barry come back, or show something to imply that he's back (I.e., a speed force portal opens, or Iris feels electricity like in season 1 or she sees a flash or something) and then leave it open-ended without actually showing that he's back (because they love torturing us).
I expect him to unequivocally return, but I would still be happy with an open-ended scenario like the one you described.
It's very unrealistic for Barry's trial to be so soon. It makes me think they're going to make him guilty and in prison until the season finale.
I expect him out by 4.14, simply because of Grant having shaved.
I know TF has resumed filming but I cannot tell where CP is based on her sm, do you know if she’s still in LA and if she is do you think she will attend the TCA or Golden Globes this weekend? Also, if she’s not in VC it seems then that Iris isn’t featured too prominently in 4x13 or 4x14, what do you think?
Can has been in LA this week and will probably return to Vancouver after the Golden Globes tonight. Thus far, she’s missed 4 days of 4.14 and she previously missed 5 days of 4.15, so it’s safe to assume those two eps will be light on Iris. Which has been true of every 13/14 ep save for the E2 ones sadly.
Hi, I just find it curious how Barry’s disappearance doesn’t faze anyone. I mean it’s selfless of Barry and co. To have focused on Iris. But to not also address or mention his disappearance or even using Gideon. Maybe under my expectations too high for this show? 🙁
My Watsonian explanation is that Barry disappears at least once a season, so they don’t think it’s any different from that. My Doylist explanation is the writers don’t want us to focus too much on it yet because they want that final story to be as much of a surprise as possible given that it’s splashed on the page.
I had a thought that maybe as of right now, Barry dies in the crisis and the twins never really know they're father (hence Dawn being so excited). But at some point while Dawn is in this timeline, something changes, and suddenly she has memories of growing up with her father (like how Savitar got new memories everytime something changed). They could still have him disappear/"die" in the crisis, but now he'll come back later, whereas before (in the timeline Dawn knows now), he never came back.
Aww, that would be so heartwarming and sweet. I would love for the future to change for the better.
So 2 questions: 1) Do you think Dawn will tell Barry (and Iris) that he dies and therefore she never got to know him? ... And 2) In the comics, Barry dies before the twins are born. But that would mean Iris doesn't get pregnant until the final season, whereas the show seems to be hinting that she may end up pregnant as early as this season. Do you think they'll modify it so that twins are young (rather than unborn) when he dies, or do you think they'll hold off on Iris getting pregnant?
1) Not on purpose, because you shouldn’t know too much about your future. It might slip, but I don’t think the writers are gonna want to commit to the final arc like that too soon.2) They probably won’t follow the comics to the letter in that sense. Iris getting pregnant was an afterthought when it first happened in the comics, whereas you can be sure it’ll be a main storyline on the show.

Kate’s Hiatus Bellarke Playlist - Song 10
Okay, fam, I’m back for song number ten. If you have no idea what this playlist is, you can read the original post here, or look at all the other songs I have done by searching the tag, #kate’s hiatus bellarke playlist, on my page.
For the tenth song on my playlist, I will be talking about:
“Be Together (feat. Wild Belle)” by Major Lazer
youtube
The version I have on my phone is actually the Vanic Remix (I have it for a few years) so if you would prefer something a little bit faster, I’ll put that one below. Personally, I like that version better but it just depends on preference I guess.
youtube
So I’ve had this song on my phone for a long time but I never actually associated it with Bellarke until the 4x13 finale, and they got separated by literal space and time. I’ll point out some lyrics below as to why it reminds me of Bellarke.
Let me escape in your arms Baby I'm yours, baby I'm yours Love don't come easy at all I miss you so much, I miss you so much
This first verse is very Bellarke, especially in 4x13, because the first line can be taken literally (aka. the Bellarke hug would be them “[escaping] in your arms”), and they also have both had troubles in love in the past (eg. “love is weakness”, Gina, L.exa, Finn all dying) and they miss each other, obviously, because they’ve been separated for over six years now.
Maybe if the stars align, maybe if our worlds collide Maybe on the dark side we could be together, be together Maybe in a million miles, on a highway through the stars Someday soon we'll be together
My favourite thing about Bellarke being separated with him in space and her on Earth (*weep*) is because now all of these hundreds of songs that use space and stars and shit as metaphors apply LITERALLY to Bellarke. “Maybe if our worlds collide” ... I mean, technically they are on different worlds now. And “maybe in a million miles, on a highway through the stars” applies PERFECTLY to their situation. They are millions of miles away, with space between them. Someday they’ll reunite once more. This verse represents the hope present in Clarke in the last scene of Season 4 as she has faith that she will see Bellamy again, “someday soon”.
He was a dreamer at heart Chasing the stars, chasing the stars Wings spread to the sun I miss you so much, I miss you so much
Now I don’t know how much of a dreamer that Bellamy is, but when I think of this line I tend to think about how Bellamy is a total mythology nerd, and a lot of greek myths are present in constellations in the sky (which explains the chasing the stars part).
As for “wings spread to the sun” ... it’s sort of representative of the space squad 7 flying (wings) into space (towards the sun).
And of course, the “I miss you so much” is self-explanatory.
Tell me, is this freedom, baby? Chasing after danger, making my heart break, woah
These lyrics aren’t perfectly applicable to Bellarke, but I do think you can still find a way to make it fit since they are ALWAYS in danger, and they both have had their hearts broken so many times (the troubles in love part). And even though they aren’t fighting a war right now, are they really free?
After that, the song just sort of continues with the chorus:
Maybe if the stars align, maybe if our worlds collide Maybe on the dark side we could be together, be together Maybe in a million miles, on a highway through the stars Someday soon we'll be together We'll be together, we'll be together We'll be together, we'll be together We'll be together, we'll be together We'll be together, we'll be together Maybe if the stars align, maybe if our worlds collide Maybe on the dark side we could be together, be together Maybe in a million miles, on a highway through the stars Someday soon we'll be together Maybe if the stars align, maybe if our worlds collide Maybe on the dark side we could be together, be together Maybe in a million miles, on a highway through the stars Someday soon we'll be together
That’s it folks. I’ll try to post these more regularly now (cause I have way too many songs on this playlist so I kinda need to be more efficient or I’ll never get through them, lol).

Oh my f*cking God!!!!!!! I can’t believe I never really got it until now!!!!!!
I’ve been wanting Bellamy to be more like his old self for a long time but I didn’t realise that this is why!
We saw the change in 4x13 in his final scene with Raven, the very moment he decided that, for the rest of his life, he would find the strength of will to cut himself off from the trauma of losing Clarke. He and Spacekru all naturally assumed that she died saving them in Praimfaya, and the weight of that loss was so obviously devastating, but he loved her so much that he cared, more than anything, more than his own emotional health, about making sure that he would honour her last words to him and that she didn’t die for nothing. This mattered more than anything to him because the horror of her death would only have been amplified if he ever, at any point, believed that her sacrifice was in vain, and for him, the only way for him to believe that he was entirely committed to being the leader and man she said he’d need to be to ensure that they survived was to cut himself off from his emotions, most likely because, if he’d let himself truly feel his grief, let himself comprehend how much he’d lost when he left her to die, he would have been hollow, empty and incapable of functioning.
We saw the effect that the mere mention of her name had on him in season 5 prior to discovering that she’d been alive the whole time. 6 years in space with friends that had become his family, one of which he’d created a relationship with, and yet he could barely think about Clarke without almost losing it and breaking down. If he had been able to grieve properly, hopefully he’d have been able to move on during this time, thought of her without guilt, self-hatred and longing engulfing him at the thought of her. In 6 years, a healthy person would have hopefully found acceptance and peace in this time, but Bellamy wasn’t healthy.
That’s why we, as the audience, and Clarke felt so out of sync with him in season 5, because we had never known a Bellamy Blake that didn’t think with his heart over his head. We understood the motivations behind Clarke becoming more heart over head because we saw her struggle with finding the valley and dealing with the essential loss of everyone she loved, since it seemed like she was the only person left above ground, and finding Madi gave her a new purpose, a reason to live, and we could understand that about Clarke, who always did whatever it took to save her people, and Madi had become her people. Additionally, we’d always wanted Clarke to let herself feel more because she’s always bottled up her emotions and internalised her grief, while Bellamy always did the opposite, which is why people would give Clarke crap about her decisions and not Bellamy because Clarke never showed anyone her struggle whereas Bellamy did. Yet we struggled to understand Bellamy as a leader who was more head over heart because it was always his heart that made him so incredible. Everything he’d done since the beginning had been in an effort to protect his sister, and then it became The 100, his friends in Mt Weather, Skaikru and then Spacekru. We, and Clarke, struggled to love Bellamy as he was in this time because we just didn’t know him and he’d cut himself off from what made him so special, as Clarke said in season 4.
This is why we are so glad that he’s leading with his heart again, because we know this Bellamy and we know that he’s only healthy when he let’s himself feel his pain and take care of himself. I love that he’s prioritised his own happiness more than ever, as shown by risking everything for the woman he loves and cutting off the toxicity of his relationship with Octavia. This is Bellamy at his best and it looks like he’s only going to get better.
(Lol I’ve had this draft saved for weeks 😂)
Anyways,,,
I feel like this needs to be said again. Bellamy was not a healthy, stable person in s5. Bellamy in s5 was fucking drowning and he’s still drowning in s6. If you love the sp*cekru dynamics so much, you might miss it, but Bellamy is not happy. He has tried to be happy. But it’s not working. You know why? Because he’s become so emotionally repressed!
So, forgive us who love Bellamy for wanting him to fucking feel and let it all out. We don’t want Bellamy to actually commit mass murder. We want him to want to. WE WANT HIM TO FUCKING LET IT ALL OUT. TO FEEL. TO STOP KEEPING IT ALL IN.
I’m sorry, maybe you haven’t noticed, but being in a toxic relationship with a girl who not only wasn’t open with him for over six years, but who also lied to him about her past, all the while forcing him to forgive his sister when she very clearly has treated him horribly and he’s better off without someone like that in his life and she just won’t respect that—that has not turned out well for him.
Bellamy just lost Clarke Griffin—his best friend, his closest confidant, his co-leader, the girl that he’s actually in love with—and yes, I am here for him actually falling apart this time. Keeping it all in the last time he lost her is what lead to him becoming an emotionally repressed man that he himself has been struggling with.
Let him use his heart again, recklessly, fully. Let him want to avenge the love of his fucking life. Let him be Bellamy fucking Blake.

The 100 4 x 11-13
Finally caught up, so putting down some notes for myself so I don’t forget everything over the hiatus.
4 x 11 “The Other Side” was the worst, I get what they were trying to do, but I’ve been fed up with this sort of BS mentality since S fucking 1, so.
And, yeah, apparently I can hate Jaha still more (though I hated him a little less in 4x13 later but hardly through any of Jaha’s own merit.) Clarke, Jaha is not a good role model for you.
Bellamy was breaking my heart by trying to get to open the door and hurting himself. I loved that Abby helped him – at least she seems to have learnt from the past. And I especially loved what he told her, repeating Marcus’s words that they need to earn back deserving to survive by doing better each day than the day before.
The being worthy of survival is the running question of the show, but I’d like people to finally learn a lesson from it instead of just repeating the same mistakes and questionable choices over and over. Although, of course, Clarke was right in 4 x 12 that there were no good choices – but so was Bellamy when he said that the current choice wasn’t comparable to the Dropship/Mt. Weather/ALIE situation.
Also fed up with the Arkadians superiority complex.
Jasper’s clique’s mass suicide was also a terrible story arc. Again, I get what they wanted to explore, but the execution was less than adequate and basically over the line (see, this actually was the romantisation antis like to scream about) – and while on one hand I could relate with Jasper’s mentality (giving up, going out the easy way, being tired of fighting and pain), I cannot approve with the superficial treatment of it as well as the outcome. Maybe it was realistic or edgy or whatever, but it was hella depressing. Not cool, show, not cool.
Raven’s part of the episode was the best, with alternating Becca and Sinclair hallucinations and reason and will to live winning, thanks goodness.
The science was of course BS, but on the other hand their ability to bluff their way through it is kinda admirable, lol.
I loved that Echo decided to trusting Bellamy’s will to open the door was the best option.
Anyway, with Abby’s help Bellamy got the door bunker open since Clarke was unable to shoot him and in
4 x 12 “The Chosen”
we were back to Octavia’s plan to share the bunker with everyone and Arkadians having to choose a 100 among them. (And boy do I love the poetic ‘justice’ of it.)
Fucking Jaha was, of course, inciting rebellion and some guy went on and on about how Skaikru deserved more spots because of their knowledge yada, yada.
Loved Octavia standing up to Jaha and throwing it back into his face how she is supposedly one of them. Loved Octavia feeling undeserving of being looked to by the grounders for leadership as the champion and at least mentioning Roan’s help. (I’m not over you-know-what.)
I also understood why she threw Echo out.
Also, continuing loving Indra’s mentorship and support and Octavia actually turning and listening to her.
At least stupid Jaha did the right thing at the end, although only thanks to Marcus’s quick thinking and convincing talk, so they gassed the mob and then used Clarke's list to pick who stayed + all the kids (although I assume the kids were already on Clarke’s list) while the Grounders took everyone else out of the bunker.
How does Jaha get to stay in the bunker, though? I thought they need young fertile people and experts and Jaha is neither young not an expert in anything but being able to manipulate people (okay, he’s a man, so still fertile, but yuck, I don’t even want to go there).
By the rules, Jaha should’ve been out, except that of course the actor has a contract (and look, shitty person or not, I don’t wish anyone to lose a job) and so we’ll have another season of Jaha’s BS. (It won’t surprise me if he does more backstabbing, manipulating, and shitty deals with the prisoners next season.)
Abby renounced her spot in the bunker out of guilt, but then Marcus followed the list and had her stay – but unlike Jaha, even if I didn’t like her (but I do), Abby is actually necessary as the senior doctor.
I liked Marcus’s ‘that’s how we save our people’ – because yes, that’s the way to do it both physically and in terms of humanity. Though his frantic repeating of it was also heartbreaking.
Meanwhile, Bellamy, Clarke, Murphy, and Emori went to get Raven (since they would need her), but were jumped by some grounders who wanted their suits, but fortunately Echo saved them, but the attack damaged the truck and Emori’s suit in the process. (BTW, loved Murphy and Emori and ‘your home is with me’.)
Clarke gave Emori her suit, since she had nightblood that seemed to be working, but thee was no time to made more and immunise everyone (not to mention needing to convince the grounders to let extra people stay – and they couldn’t open the bunker anyway to let them out after a few days because that would let the radiation in.)
Monty and Harper detoured from their way to Polis and pick them up, but they ran out of time to return to the bunker.
So the new plan was to go to the ring left behind by the Ark, with leftover water filtration system and an algae farm and they would take an oxygenator from the island with them. 4 x 13 “Praimfaya” Bellamy said goodbye to Octavia. I loved comparing her to Prometheus (and she obviously knowing what he’s talking about) giving people hope.
Then radio died and Clarke couldn’t say goodbye to Abby, so we got Bellarke huggles. ;)
Apparently it’s 210 miles from Polis to the island. They forgot to count shitty roads instead of highways, so if you neglect that, it even kinda works out (5-hour drive in one direction.)
Then it was a rush to get everything together to launch before the radiation wave. Murhy helped Monty get the oxygenator and even managed to endear himself to Monty a little by choosing the equipment over him, lol. (Loved the ‘I don’t hate you anymore’ and Bellamy’s ‘give it time’. And hugs!)
Echo was about to kill herself, but Bellamy stopped her and I loved that and her remembering she betrayed them.
Communications failed, so someone had to go restore them and since everyone was busy with other things, Clarke did it, but the tech failed some more and she had to go align the satellite dish manually to make it possible for the power on the Ring turn on and so she ran out of time to return and the others launched without her, thinking she died. Ouch.
I loved the teamwork and sharing the oxygen and all, though.
In the end we saw a time jump of six years and seven days with Clarke trying to radio the Ring and telling Bellamy the bunker was buried under the rubble and silent, as well. She apparently lived in the truck with a young nightblood girl.
Cue a large fucking spaceship marked as ‘prison transport’ landing and Clarke telling Maddie to load all her guns. So, overall:
Despite me being fed up with the fucking endless fighting, it was kinda good season (at least until 4x10 – and a stubborn part of me still wants to believe Roan is not dead, grrr. That’s why AUs are for.)
It doesn’t look like they’ll change the show’s MO any time soon, so we’ll get more fighting for survival in S5. Can we at least hope that in 6+ years in the bunker Wankru got their shit together enough to stick together and work together? I know it’s too much to hope that these new arrivals would be more rational and prone to talk and negotiate rather than fight, but maybe? Pretty please? And Wankru learning from the umpteenth past mistakes and being able to do the same? Come on! (Yeah, I know, not gonna happen.)
I wonder how many of the new arrivals are there? The space ship looked hella big so I think maybe at least a 1000, or maybe even a couple thousand plus (an even more important factor) all the heavy machinery.) But in roughly 150+ years at least they managed to stick to English, so there’s that.
The show also managed to bluff its way through science plausibly enough that I can handwave it and let it be if I don’t think too much about it, so that was better than I expected before the season started, too.
I have mixed feelings about the ending. On one hand I love that Octavia found her place and that maybe Wankru can finally learn to live with each other in peace and I like how they spun the Clarke’s nightblood story to enable her survival and her helipng others to survive (also, it was the expectedly heroic story for the lead.) On the other hand, of course, it was white-saviourism galore. But, oh, well.
I will probably return for S5 because of characters, though I am so not looking forward to the potential of more of the same stories about fighting and such. But who knows, maybe the writers decide to do something new and surprise me in a more pleasant way.
