10 Month Wash: 9th machine wash + 2nd bleach soak

So it’s been 2 months since my last wash update for these Warehouse 1001XX. After performing a bleach soak and wash after 8 months of wear, I decided to skip any soak or wash at the 9 month mark. Now, at 10 months, I chose to do another bleach soak and machine wash. I followed the same process that I outlined in my last post, except I doubled the amount of bleach in the bath from 50 mL to 100 mL. 

The whiskers are definitely visible and present. Whites are popping beautifully right around the fly/center seam, but I’m happy to announce that there doesn’t seem to be any signs of thinning or blowouts yet.

The stitching along the left pocket has slowly been coming undone since around 6 months of wear, but it hasn’t broken yet.

I’ve always loved the contrast and puckering around the yoke stitching.

Leather patch looking thirsty. Hadn’t conditioned it yet when I took these photos, but I made sure to add some Cadillac Leather Lotion before wearing.

Honeycombs are still relatively low contrast. In my experience, straighter leg cuts tend to have less defined combs. In this instance, this 1001XX cut measures 9″ around my knee (14″ down the inseam). 

On body in person, the fades are looking great. On body in photos, still difficult to tell. Getting better though?

Overall, I am really happy with the direction the fades on these Warehouse 1001XX are moving. Relatively, however, the fades are still quite faint compared to some of the fades I see on social media. This just goes to show how sedentary my life is. lol

My current plan is to hopefully finish out the year with this pair, then I’ll decide if I want to begin a different denim fade project. The one downside of this pair long term is the waist measurement. Every time I soak/wash them, the waistband shrinks down from 33.5″ to about 31.5-32″, which gets quite snug. They always stretch back out to the original 33.5″ waist (which was the raw, unsanforized measurement), but I’ll probably go for a 34″ raw waist measurement on all future pairs.

Anyway, that’s all for this update. Not sure yet how I will continue to utilize bleach in future washes, but I’m definitely happy with the results thus far.

wetting unsanforized denim shrinks it. if you put it on wet it will dry skin tight because it will only be stretched as much as your ass is fat. but if you bend your legs basically at all you'll end up with horrendous knee bags.

most people stretch them back out after drying, but it's true that you'd want to shrink them less aggressively in that case. but these days if you want skin tight they've got synthetics for that.

There was clearly some change in the material culture of the BDSM community around the 90s such that the things that were matter-of-coursely adjectived as "rubber" before that were referred to as "vinyl" afterwards, I kind of wonder about that sometimes
