Hey quick question, which UC arc was just a ton of milfs? Because I'm looking to get into the Podcast and this seems like a great diving in point.
Hmm okay so there are a couple arcs that are have hot fems but I listed a couple. You could probably call it after you read my bit abt arc 2, but I’ll take any reason to blab.
Arc 2: All four PCs are hot fems planning a heist. In my head only one of them reaches milf energy tho bc I think of most of them as pretty young (also ages are hella weird in D&D so I think that’s tripping me up.) Feisty. I recommend this one if you’re just starting.
Arc 6: I wouldn’t say that all the fems have milf energy here but there is strong milf energy in the arc by like. Two PCs. Also warning: very *very* sad.
Arc 8: The main point of this arc is high politics, building on past arcs. Also 4/5 of the PCs are hot fems. MILFs, you might say, cuz in my head this arc has the most qualified milfs. Do NOT recommend as your first arc bc there’s a lot of worldbuilding needed to understand.
Arc 9: Hmm… lotta morally gray fems. Dunno if it quite reaches *milf* energy because they’re all very young. But, one is kinda sorta a mother.
Arc 10: lots of hot fem NPCs. This would be a cool intro point as well bc it doesn’t have a lot to do with the other arcs (also is DMed by the wonderful Amelia Som)
Arc 12: Reunion arc 2, so of course it will also have a lot of hot fem energy. As of writing this, the first ep (well ep 0) comes out tomorrow!

Half a comic for day one: fave arc/ roll for au! i rolled podcast au, and when i went to spotify to look at my list, i actively had Midnight Burger open and thats perfect so i had to.
What podcast do i mash with the "train traveling dimensions as she gains sentience and godhood while the staff deals with resulting problems" crew other than the "time space universe traveling diner solves problems with the power of science and friendship and jesus (but in a good way)" podcast?
edit: part two here!

Full length explanation about what's going on Re: the unprepared casters hiatus because I keep seeing vague posts about it and dont like jumping between here and twitter.
Here also is a link to an article that Haley brought up that explains just why the guy that co-created the dungeon worlds system is such a nasty person

What's unprepared casters? Sounds like a show I need to watch!
It’s an amazing podcast that does shorter self contained dnd arcs, so you can jump in at any point with needing to catch up! There’s some interconnectivity between arcs, but for the most part they are all self contained stories that you can listen to without any context! That way you can jump in where you want!
I would recommend arc 9 since that’s the one I was on, but I also really adore arc 4 (it’s my favorite DnD podcast story I’ve ever listened to).
It’s on all major podcast platforms!

Hi! Stumbled into your space of the internet through your OUAT recap videos (obsessed, I love them) and picked up on all of the super subtle context clues that you're also big in the D&D space! Outside of your YouTube channel, where can I find the other content you are part of? The Internet tells me you DM'd a campaign and I absolutely need to hear it!!
I’ve DMed a lot of campaigns!! My podcast Unprepared Casters is a collection of short form TTRPG arcs all with different casts and premises, all the trailers and episodes are on Spotify! That show is my baby and means the entire world to me.
(Personally I’d recommend starting with Off the Rails, Tightrope, or Gonna Raise Hell, depending on which trailer grabs you most)

it's me again looking for another unprepared casters arc recommendation. you guys have been so correct about the arcs so far. But now I'm looking for like the peak gus arc - whatever that means. Like I've only listened to arcs 11, 5, and 10 which are all not gus arcs. So I'd love to see this guy dm what is the most gus arc?
or alternatively should I just dive into the newest arc since they're entering their silly era

Last song I listened to: Cabinet Man by Lemon Demon is what I was listening to on Spotify a minute ago so I'll use that. Weird song about the rise and fall of arcades using the story of someone that turned themselves into an arcade game kinda like the urban legendary Polybius that was reported to drive players insane.
Show I'm watching: I've decided to watch Star Trek Discovery basically just after hearing it was cancelled cause now there's a definite final episode it doesn't seem intimidating to watch all of. I'd seen the first season when it came out but nothing after that.
I'm going to count podcasts cause I've been listening to unprepared casters which is a really good d&d actual play podcast. I'm just starting arc 6 which is going to be a survival campaign in the mountains and I don't think I'm going to be prepared for the characters dying
Book I'm reading: I'm about halfway through The Traitor Baru Cormorant by Seth Dickinson and I've been liking it so far. It's an interesting view of an empire and colonialism and revolution. It's a lot really.
Also reading The New Canadian Poets (1970-1965) edited by Dennis Lee. And uh there's been some fucking bangers in it. Like I'm no expert in poetry or anything but I've liked them and will look for more work from some of the included writers.
I'm going to include another podcast here cause it's more like a serial audiobook but I'm listening to RE:Dracula. I read the book long enough that I only remember the big plot parts and not the details. I've been really enjoying the voice actors delivery in the show and tumblr following along all together and analyzing everything. 10/10 would recommend.
Currently Obsessed With: Barbie Movie. I might have answered something different before but I saw it last night and I am rotating it in my mind now. Like I'm trying so hard not to be insufferable about this to everyone I know.

For the podcast recommendations, Unprepared Casters! It's a ttrpg (mostly dnd, but starting to branch out into other systems) podcast with rotating dms and players, and it's ongoing, but made up of a bunch of short (6-8ish episodes) arcs in the same world. So some arcs are connected, but there isn't one big overarching story to keep track of and get caught up on. They play with a lot of different genres in different arcs (arc 1 is the "classic" dnd adventure, arc 2 is a heist, arc 4 is high school sports, 6 is brutal wilderness survival, 10 is murder mystery, etc), and the players and hosts are fantastic! Also one of my personal favorite UC characters, Bombyx Mori from arc 3, is an immortal ranger partly inspired by Jane Prentiss!
Thank! I’m not sure I want to get into another actual play podcast since I’m doing RQG, and once I catch up on TAZ, I’ll start Critical Role

try UNPREPARED CASTERS!
proven to treat boredom!
do not take if you are allergic to entire stories with complex characters told in under 10 hours, gayness, characters of varying genders, realistic sibling relationships, wife guys, or general fun
side effects may include but are not limited to sobbing over imaginary people, drawing ridiculous things, looking like an idiot as you cheer a clutch nat 20 while listening with headphones on the bus, and reblogging my posts

Okay so, in arc 6 episode 0 Amelia mentions how Salas doesn't really want to die because he doesn't want to loose all the memories of his wife. Now I barely registered this comment the first time I listened to it and even if I had, you could easily brush it off as Salas just not believing as in an afterlife or something. It's not that weird of a statement.
So listening back to that episode knowing what we know now I'm SCREAMING because Amelia had been planting the seeds from the very beginning. They're so subtle you wouldn't notice them unless you knew what to look for and I love it so much

Vulpix and Ninetales were ones I was really able to have some fun with recreating. Vulpix are going to be found in small groups. The Kantonian ones are sometimes solo but typically in pairs or trios. Having no treasure and not being territorial towards humanoids means it has little reasons to fight a party. They're very renowned for thier fur and being companions, so the party could easily find themselves sent out to hunt or capture these. They also make perfect companions for enemy rangers, druids, fey. They fight rather straightforwardly, relying on that lingering fire. Alolan varients will stay in thier family skulk of 7, often headed by a parental Ninetales, until the day they find a mate themselves. I'd recommend using them as companions for enemies immune to cold, using Aurora beam to punish a party trying to flank. Alternatively, have capturing one be a fun stealth segment for parties of level 7 or so, trying to capture/befriend one before the mother finds them. Either Ninetales CAN be played as a straight monster, and a rather brutal one for an unprepared party. The Kantonian one will use its AoEs and lingering fire to keep the whole party damaged and burning. The Alolan Ninetales will dance out of reach, and control weather will make sure Snow Cloak stays up. To quote PMD, "We Ninetales are known to be vengeful in the extreme," meaning it will NOT let them run. If it's losing, it will escape and attack again later. If they try to run, mind spike will let it follow. However, I'd argue its better to use it as the intelligent fey it is. For instance, the Kantonian form left its usual savannas for a new region, the party must convince it to stop using Control Weather to dry the area out. A ranger or a local leader wants an alolan vulpix, the party must convince the Ninetales it they're worthy of one of its kits.
The Golden and Platinum versions are 900 year old Ninetales, and are the versions that the legends speak of. They're approaching the level of a minor archfey, and can be used in an adventure as such. Perhaps the party is vying for forgiveness of a cursed creature, perhaps the Ninetales sent a fey courtier to summon the party for a quest of its own. A Ninetales of this caliber will consider its region as under protection, and determine any corruption or slight against it as a personal attack. If the party does fight, it will act much like its previous versions. The Kantonian's mental prison will likely be its leading move unless presented with a good target for Immolation, while the Alolan will prioritize trying to line up a Synaptic Static. Spite is brutal against casters and make drawn-out fights dangerous, as the Ninetales quickly steals their ability to target its vulnerability or even thier healing. However, don't undervalue that extra damage, the best defense is having fewer people damaging you. A downed party member right now is more valuable than a lost spell in the future.

ARC 5 OF UNPREPARED CASTERS RUINED ME. I’m not gonna spoil it but like. The twist of the genre they played was such a delight and the emotional core of the arc was so impactful and it was such a lovely balance of like. Raucously funny and heart wrenchingly tragic and it really spoke to me personally and a grief I carry from last summer and I just. Hooooo baby please go listen to it I don’t wanna spoil the big beats of what happens bc one of the big delights for me was exploring and experiencing and discovering what’s going to happen in real time but. Even if you don’t listen to the other arcs (they’re all stand alone! They take place in the same world and there are some through lines and inside jokes but you don’t have to listen to the earlier arcs to listen to this one!!) I would so wholeheartedly recommend listening to this one. Goodness.

I know this isn't quite what you asked for but jf you like D&D podcasts strongly recommend unprepared casters. Each campaign is 6-8 90 minute episodes and it's very good. I'm not allowed to listen to it except when I work out because that encourages me to do actual exercise, which I hate, so that should be an indicator of quality.
I'll take a look at it, thanks! I don't really do many DnD podcasts because the OOC talk pulls me out of the story too much and i find fights boring, but I'll give this one a shot!
