Hey everyone! I have begun to write the fic for this AU, which I am tentatively naming “Unperson” after the Nothing But Thieves song of the same name! If you’d like to see when I’m working on the fic, feel free to follow me on spotify, were I will be playing this instrumental playlist on loop whenever I write :)
When I get back home, I will also be creating some more concept art for it!
Thank you for all of the support on it thus far!
Alternate ending for @ranboolivesaysstuff ‘s Generation Loss: gl!Ranboo is reprogrammed from being the “Hero” to “the Abomination”, aka the next villain in Showfall’s latest installment.
Tumblr media
As the mask doesn’t force the wearer to act in a certain way, but only changes their perception, reprogrammed gl!Ranboo believes he’s attacking the Showfall employees, when in actuality he’s attacking his reprogrammed friends.
His demise as a ‘villain’ culminates in his memories returning to him, and refusing to fight back when the new Hero at last approaches him; he is slain feeling nothing but guilt.
EDIT: As this has gained a lot of positive attention on several platforms, I will absolutely be drawing/writing more for this! Stay tuned >:)

soap faking his death because he's 'scared' or otherwise rendered ooc by the characterization of those who must make everything about their ship delusions.
Tumblr media
soap faking his death to go deep undercover on the hunt for makarov because as we see in-game he's the most devoted to and unhinged by the need to kill him.

Gen Loss- Unperson AU Mask!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is my recreation of Ranboo’s mask/mouth from the GenLoss fanfic ‘Unperson’ by Mollish! It took around a week to make and is definitely the most ambitious cosplay prop I’ve ever made. The fanfic is really good and the art drawn for the chapters and references is also great so I highly recommend it!
(this was made before the official reference was made so it’s not completely accurate to the art)

Kat's "I could fix him" Arcane post pt 2:
Yeah it's him this time.
The Jayce, Viktor, and disability storyline is where Arcane s2 gets the most incoherent, imo. I never got the impression in s1 that Viktor wants to "fix his imperfections". He just doesn't want to die. Also, his problems were caused by apathy and classism, not generic human emotion. (Blaming human emotion in general sure lets the rich and powerful off the hook, right?) At the end of s1, Viktor wants Jayce to destroy the hex core, but then in s2 he's embracing it. Also at the start of s2 he claims he's moved beyond affection, but then later tells Jayce he left without explaining himself because he was clouded by emotion. Viktor was upset about the idea of using hextech as weapons but then willingly helps Ambessa's army. We also have Viktor claiming "that's not Jayce" and Jayce having some visible arcane corruption, but that never goes anywhere. I'm still genuinely not sure how the show wanted me to interpret his s2 thought processes.
So, how would I deal with this? By leaning way way harder into the Horrors of Ableism and the Medical Model of Disability.
Viktor wanted Jayce to destroy the hex core. Instead, Jayce uses it to save his life against his wishes. After that, Viktor's affect changes, he goes into the Undercity, and non-consensually transforms someone else. Other disabled and chronically ill people come to him willingly, but this is a world where even one of the most powerful people in Piltover can't get a fucking wheelchair ramp. A quick fix is appealing, even if it means giving up some of who you are. You've already been unpersoned by society, after all.
Hextech is something Viktor and Jayce created together, and it seems to respond to intent and emotions, so let's take it to extremes. That's not Viktor. That's hextech, influenced by both Jayce and Viktor, and it answered Jayce's desperation. The man of progress, the herald of tomorrow, wanted to save his friend. He wanted to fix what was broken. Here you go! I made him even better. Now while I'm at it, I'll fix everybody else too!
Have purple disability Jesus!Viktor be embodied hextech on a well-meaning rampage. Meanwhile, mindscape Viktor debates it while it's wearing Sky's face. He feels betrayed by Jayce and guilty about Sky, but also he did want to bring better things to the Undercity. Is this the best way to do it? Is the only way to play the abled world's game abandoning who you used to be? He's not sure, and he starts to waver/get weaker as Sky/hextech gets stronger with more followers in its hivemind.
Following my last post, as hextech!Viktor helps Jinx with her shimmer issues, maybe he also tries to 'fix' her psychosis. (Side note, it would have been nice to make it clear that AU-verse!Powder still has psychosis, so it's not so clearly associated with Jinx's villain era. I'm sure stress and trauma makes it worse, but still.) He's unsuccessful at this, or perhaps Jinx resists it, and this can be something he reflects on later at the end when Jayce talks about our imperfections being important and part of who we are/the world around us.
Anyway, hextech!Viktor wants access to the gate to make everybody perfect and fully intends to doublecross Ambessa and remake her too. For her own good, of course. Real Viktor is exhausted in the mindscape. His partner wants to kill him, hextech is out of control, and even the downtrodden people he 'helped' have been destroyed. Then Jayce gets dragged into the mindscape and the hextech goes look, you created me and I've expanded on your vision. I saved your partner, I brought about the era of magic, I've created the men of tomorrow. And as in canon, Jayce can go no, Viktor, I didn't save you because I wanted to fix you, I just wanted you to live, there's nothing wrong with you. You don't need a glorious evolution, we just need to help people be better at being who they already are. And that encourages Viktor to overpower the hex tech possessing him.
Then they can still collapse into a gay singularity if you want I guess. Personally I think it's kind of a bummer that dozens of disabled people got obliterated and everyone would've been better off if Viktor had lay down and died of Limp And Coughing Blood Disease from the start but ymmv. IDK what my better ending of 'Jayce and Viktor embrace the social model of disability' would look like but if everyone gets sent to Zaun maybe it would involve coming up with assistive tech like they originally envisioned. And maybe Viktor still will die of lung disease. But he can do it on his terms if so.

More fanart for @mollish-art's Unperson AU!
Most of the outfit design is from the chapter 2 cover art, though I took some creative liberty with the smaller details while trying to keep it mostly true to the story (some of it is still a bit off-track from the official description, but I think it ultimately fits the intended look).
I may have taken the "aesthetic over practicality" part a bit far, but an amalgamation of extraneous details that isn't at all cohesive at a second glance is ironically what best fits the setting, and is surprisingly fun to draw.

Azul-Yutu Thoughts 0.3
As inspired by @yuri-is-online and their Future Yutu AU. Go read it, it's good.
The first time Yutu ever gets a chance to talk to Jade for real is after a full day of wandering campus looking for stories about overblot phantoms, monsters, and mages. As such, Yutu's understandably tired, especially since it's edging into proper night now, the clock above the bar ticking softly away as Jade wipes down the counter.
After summarily kicking Crewel out of Octavinelle with a snide reassurance that he'll 'behave,' Yutu was a little startled by how normal and unpersonalized their next few minutes of interaction were.
Do you have any allergies? No. Any strong dislikes? Uh, why? This is an establishment for food and drink, it'd be remiss if me not to feed you. Do I have to pay? Hm, no, not today. Alright... I- guess I don't like spicy things? Oh, also no carrots or celery. And nothing too chunky in my drink, I don't like smoothies! I suppose I can accommodate.
Yutu takes a moment to sit at the bar, spinning around once on the stool before stopping to look Jade up and down. He'd never heard of this person from Yuu, who'd struggled to recall his dad even on their best days. Who was this person to him? An uncle? An ally? Did Jade blame him or his parent for abandoning Azul, however unwillingly? Yutu scrutinizes Jade's appearance, looking for hints as to what his whole deal is.
The first thing that comes to mind is that Jade looks... Tired. No dark bags under his eyes, so he's sleeping, but there's a deliberateness to his movements that tells of trying not to shake, or perhaps of distraction. Jade also doesn't move from his spot much and is slow to rise when ducking below the counter to fish out ingredients, which is another point in the tired category, or perhaps the start of one that screams low blood sugar.
Hey, whatever you're making for me, make some for yourself too. Mm. I mean it. If you're stealing ingredients or whatever to do this, you may as well get something out of it too. Truly benevolent, aren't you? Very well then.
It doesn't take long for Jade and Yutu to have matching salads and glasses of water, which Yutu raises an eyebrow at. It's a struggle not to comment on how, for all that Jade is insisting on feeding him, this is kind of a cheapskate meal. Jade seems to read right through him though and explains that they're still waiting on the next round of supplies to come through; the gardens can supply vegetables and there's apples, canned goods, and nonperishables aplenty, but things like milk or eggs are much harder to come by.
And, Jade comments with a sharp-toothed grin that Yutu immediately clocks as a mer thing, alcohol is more profitable than ever. Not that you're of age, of course. Yutu debates the merits of commenting, figures discretion is the better part of valor (Jade seems too eager to hear his remarks and that screams fishy) and shuts up to eat his salad.
Jade takes his win with good grace and explains how he, Azul, and his- he hesitates for a moment- twin all went to school together. Octavinelle flourished under Azul's care as house warden and he and his brother helped him hang onto control, acting to smooth things out when things got... Rough. Yutu snorts and tries to hide it, snidely commenting that the trio sound like the mafia. Jade laughs a little too, slightly forced, and says that Yuu said the exact same thing when Azul explained their duties to them.
Yutu is surprised at this and asks if Yuu went to school with his father too, which Jade confirms, proceeding to explain their rather dramatic entrance into NRC and how Yuu came to agree to date Azul; something about an overly complicated meal, a broken microwave, and a promise about never going hungry again. All very romantic, Jade assures Yutu dryly, although a bit insufferable for him and his brother, who had to ensure Azul survived the pinning phase first.
Yutu immediately opens up about what little he knows of Azul and what Yuu had told him, hoping for confirmation, a solidification of what he knows. What Jade does instead is smirk and proceed to rip apart the honey-golden nostalgia and replace it with goofy tales of how his father was actually a bit of a dork.
Yutu had deliberately told Jade some of the sappier things he knew about Azul because he pinned Jade as being a tease and the man would likely contradict whatever spin he put on his dad. This, though? Yutu isn't sure what to do with this; he'd expected flaws or ways his father got angry or unreasonable, not 'flaws' and hidden affection. Azul... His dad was really loved, huh.
Yutu tries to stretch out his last few bites of salad, uncertain and trying not to show it. If Yuu loved his dad so much, if Jade teased but couldn't hide how much he missed him, if Crewel spoke of Azul's talents and intelligence so highly, then how should Yutu feel? All he has to go on is what other people tell him and he doesn't yet know if he wants to love Azul too, let alone if he will come to love the real Azul or the Azul people loved. Stories and real people are so rarely similar, after all.
Seeing Yutu get quieter and quieter, Jade figures that he's tired and politely starts urging Yutu to head to bed. Yutu agrees, hesitates, then asks if he can come talk to Jade again. Jade is a little surprised because he thought it was a given, then a little surprised at himself for so easily falling back into old habits. Just an hour or so in the presence of a boy who looks so much like his old friend, and he's ready to accommodate him. Ha, how foolish...
Jade keeps his thoughts behind his teeth and agrees with a smile, urging Yutu to drop by at least once a week as Jade works most evenings and on Sunday afternoons from 10 to 6. Yutu furrows his brow, pointing out that 10 is hardly in the afternoon, Jade croons about how Yutu must wake up so late in the day if he thinks 10 is in the morning, Yutu grumbles, Jade teases and urges Yutu to get to bed sooner or else noon may start looking like morning too.
Yutu decides to let Jade get the last laugh for now and heads out, leaving Jade to the silence of Octavinelle. He doesn't look back but if he were to do so, he'd see how Jade would look oddly diminished now that he's alone, hovering over the bar top like a specter as if he doesn't know what else to do with himself.
Jade stares after Yutu, gaze distant, before turning back to the dirty dishes on the counter. The salad plates are swept up easily enough but the water glasses- Jade pushes them so they're next to each other, identical in their emptiness. He stares for another moment, then places an empty purple coffee mug in front of the two glasses, making a neat trio. He returns to the sink to wash the dishes, the camera remains focused on the cups as Jade fades into the background, and the screen fades to black.

Chorda Katabasis?
Okay so! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY back I had a funny inside joke relating to one of my fics where Dedf1sh was implied to be the commander of the octo girls group.
However as of Side Order, I scrapped that since the Dedf1sh in my head and au was DEF not gonna be like the canon one.
So! I created Chorda! Or, Chord. She is the character replacement of that role in the octo girls's lives.
Tumblr media
She was once a very skilled and stern leader. Middle aged- and also stood as the medic of the group. Despite being quite emotionally disconnected from the group, Chorda was able to lead them into following her orders one way or another- like how a parent negotiates with her different kids on why they should do what she says yknow?
To Ingrid, she provided her lots of things to do and treated her like a second in command- which boosted Ingrid's obedience since she wanted to be seen as a good and reliable soldier.
To Mira, she didn't humor any of her attempts at slyness and never gave her any reaction if she frustrated her- which made Mira bored of trying to make her annoyed and would begrudgingly follow orders.
To Sasha, she gave a decent amount of attention. Sasha wants praise and for someone to appreciate her- so Chorda also gave her lots of things to do so she could be rewarded with attention and "You did a good job."
To Cynthia, she recognized her natural affinity for agility and would push her towards doing things to use her more effectively.
She used all of them very efficiently as a leader, using their flaws and strengths the best she could as a squad- but she never really addressed their issues or insecurities or tried to fix the hurt in them. She just, used what she had and stayed as unpersonal as possible.
It made leaving them in the dead of the night a bit easier for her during the Inkantation- when she was struck with the memory of who she truly failed. Someone very far away... and who Chorda wanted to reunite with at all costs...
...Only to fall, alone, into the Deep Sea Metro.
Katabasis; a journey to the underworld.

Hunter coming up with seven thousand reasons why Camila is a basilisk and untrustworthy and Luz despite trusting Hunter implicitly sees that he is clearly losing his shit and does not trust any single leap in logic he makes here is both really sad and funny.
I’m imagining after the basilisk is healed and Luz is out of Panic Mode she’d be more willing to talk things out but I also feel like she’d be very upset at the idea that Hunter was 100% telling her to hang up on her mom and let the basilisk die to the point where she just snaps and asks him what his problem is with basilisks. And Hunter just tiptoes around it like “the Empire did terrible things to them, they’re not safe for us to be around.” (Does not elaborate further) To which Luz is getting frustrated because “The Empire did terrible things to EVERYONE!! All the time forever! And we’re trying to make it right now so What’s DIFFERENT Here I don’t GET IT.”
And then Hunter has to sadly explain that he was a part of the terrible things that they did and that they were extinct and Belos brought them back and it was a terrible horrible thing for them to be brought back at all and then tortured but all Luz can hear in his long explanation is Belos’ voice before she killed him telling her it doesn’t matter if any of the Grimwalkers were going to get sick because they shouldn’t exist in the first place
:(((
luz being like "you can't unperson people just because they look different or have the potential to be dangerous, i'm different, i'm dangerous, you KNOW what i've done, if you wouldn't do it to me you can't do it to them!!" and hunter is like "that's Different" but when pressed.... he can't explain why. he doesn't have a good reason.
also i most often focus on luz's nightmares in this AU but shoutout to the nightmares hunter is inevitably going to develop about luz being in the basilisks' position in the dungeons.
probably the worst this conversation could go without actually invoking the grimwalkers would be if luz was like "if it was you, you'd want the help, you'd want to make it" and hunter was like "no i fucking wouldn't??"
and then when she Recoils he's like oh. no no luz i didn't mean it like that. i didn't mean it like that it's okay. [guy who has been passively suicidal for years and somehow thinks this is genuinely reassuring] if i wanted to be dead i'd already be dead!

Idea that has never left me alone but now Epic Mickey got a remaster it came back with a vengeance:
Kingdom Hearts / Epic Mickey fusion AU.
Essentially it'd be even more apoc than KH already is, but with the added angst of Mickey himself being partially responsible for some of the mess. Heartless AND the Blot exist side-by-side. Oswald and all the Forgotten Toons are Nobodies but Doctor pulled a... let's just sum it up as Xehanort and convinced Oswald that the only way to be whole is to steal the Light from another person. (In truth, Mad Doctor wants to see what'd happen if a Heart was thrust into another Toon's body.) Luckily(?) Oswald blames Mickey so he's only gonna do it to MICKEY for "stealing" the position as future king of Disney Castle from him.
Because I figure that the previous rulers of the land where Disney Castle would later be built were a collation of wizards but Oswald was Forgotten after Master Werk Zi'bu and Master Yen Sid parted ways. It is canon though that Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and Pete were part of Minnie's Kingdom's which seems to be a whole other World as knights there which... is confusing but alright.
It makes Oswald double down on protecting the Forgotten Toons because to him, it's like Mickey Unpersoned them. When... no... no, honey. No. Clarabelle was not deliberately Forgotten over the years since Timeless River era Disney Castle. (This does raise weird questions regarding Smee though, since it was specifically a scrapped concept art of his design. Does this mean that there's a Chainsaw-sword Lionboy Sora in the Wasteland?)
This also means that Memory is an even more important thing in the setting, and during the events of 358/2 Days and early on in KH2, Sora is temporarily stuck in the Cartoon Wasteland.
Funny enough this also means that Power of Illusion is Mickey Mouse's own run of a Castle Oblivion type setup (Chain of Memories).

Okay but... What if Hetch was some kind of Lovecraftian-looking mix of a centipede and a spider... Like, think the size of DJ Music Man... But as a spider-centipede, a spiderpede if you will, that's abt 20' tall and like... 2x? 3x? his height in the length of his lower half? And he just uses holes and tunnels to get around or crawls up walls without much of a thought. Like you hear a skittering and shine your light up just to see this giant black body with orange markings just skittering along the wall at a speed that isn't at fucking all normal for a centipede and the legs are too damn long for a centipede and you don't know how the hell something like that is alive, but you just can't help but staring at it, and as you stare, you realize that you aren't seeing *either* end of this thing and it's actually stopped moving as if whatever this thing is has it's attention on something. Then you see eight oddly positioned eyes that shouldn't be set as close as they are for one figure, and when you shine your light up at them all you see is this black face that looks to be made of the same chitin making up the body, and all the four sets of eyes are staring at you *from* this one face, only for the head to slightly tilt, and you hear a crackling before this spiderpede-human-abomination lunges at you with a mouth that looks impossibly wide with fangs and mandibles that seem to extend past the maw. And all anyone finds when they go looking for you is torn up clothes, your flashlight, a splattering of blood, and the semi-distant sounds of skittering coming from who-the-fuck-knows-where in the building. Anyways I got a bit of inspo from @dreamer-of-all-time's design of Hetch and @mollish-art's whole Unperson AU

If I ever say I'm thinking about Steve Harrington I mean... (Pt 1.)
• Steve Harrington's empty house and blank bleak basic room.
•Steve Harrington's awful parents.
• Steve Harrington doing anything to avoid being in said blank bleak basic empty house. Aka Steve chauffering everyone around. Robin, the kids, Eddie, any of his friends.
• Steve Harrington going from hosting parties to hosting movie nights, birthday parties, and get togethers.
• Steve Harrington sitting in his unpersonalized barely lived in room listening to his parents scream at each other whenever they come home.
•Steve Harrington sneaking out his window because he'll be damned if he's gonna stick around while his parents are there screaming at each other or after all the shit of the upside down.
• Steve Harrington going to Robin's house, eyes bloodshot and shaking, throwing pebbles at her window after A, a nightmare or B, his parents came home and he can't be there anymore.
• Stobin Platonic with a capital P cuddling post season 3 to deal with the nightmares which worsened after season 4.
• Steve Harrington, in any AU where Eddie is still alive, going to his house if Robin is out of town or didn't answer his pebble throwing.
• Steve Harrington being little spooned by Eddie because The King Steve had never looked so small and lost as he did crying on the Munson's porch and he's practically clinging to Eddie at this point.
• Steve Harrington who can learn anything with a little push and occasional ass kicking.
• Steve Harrington with head trauma and being concussion prone/accident prone.
•Steve Harrington who even though he's killed monsters let's himself be beaten up because at this point he's practically trained to kill when fighting.
• Steve Harrington who despite this will go full scary dog privilege for anyone who needs it in his makeshift family.
• Steve Harrington who is so self sufficient that he doesn't know how to ask for help and whenever someone tries he shuts down.
• Steve Harrington with glasses.
• Steve Harrington moving in with Robin, Nancy(with or without both are great), and Eddie roommate AUs
• Domestic Steve Harrington trying to one up his neighbors because he does want that picket fence life and God damn it he will be better than Suzan across the street and her gross-ass lemon squares.
• Steve Harrington comforting his group of "weird" teenage friends.
• Steve Harrington caring for his group of "weird" teenage friends
• Steve Harrington and his group of "weird" teenage friends.
• Steve Harrington in any post Hawkins au where he refers to to any of the kids as his siblings. Bonus points if Hopper is called Dad and he makes visits to check on Steve.
• Steve Harrington getting kicked out and cut off by his parents and running to Eddie's.
• Alternatively Steve Harrington getting kicked out and cut off by his parents but only Robin knows and she is sworn into secrecy. Bonus points if Eddie is alive, snoops and finds out, and then helps out in subtle ways.
• Steve Harrington being claimed into the Munson family because Wayne can't stand that kicked puppy look in Steve's eyes everytime he has to go home.
• Steve Harrington liking being called "pretty boy" because by now he has so many scars and it makes him feel worthy.
•Steve Harrington's judgy face when he bites his cheek and pipes down but you know he wanted to say some bullshit.
• Steve Harrington's questions and how everyone but Eddie seemed annoyed by him and how he's probably scared to ask for or about anything.
• Steve Harrington teacher/daycare worker AUs
• Steve Harrington coffee shop AUs. Bonus points if co-owned by Robin.
• Steve Harrington figuring out he's not straight and laying out hooks to see if who he likes likes him back.
•Steve Harrington who even though he throws out hooks can never figure out what responses mean so he just keeps it up until they lose interest or say something.
• Steve Harrington the hopeless romantic with a notebook full of date ideas.
• Steve Harrington who despite this notebook always seems to have something go awry on his dates and has a curse of being dumped before the year mark.
