Swoobat Facts

-The scientific name for Swoobat is "Cardilorus gobelinus" which roughly translates to "Courting-heart goblin"

-Swoobat are Chiropterans, with their closest relative being Crobat. Despite their obvious differences, they share many similar traits, like both gaining eyes upon evolution, both being cave dwelling, and both using echo location

-While the ultrasonic waves they produce can be quite harmful, they rarely use them since it takes a lot of energy, and using it too much leaves them unable to fly for a while

-Swoobat's eyes are almost completely useless in the dark, and they rely entirely on echo location to help navigate the area they're in

-In Unova, Swoobat are often symbols of Valentines day, and many valentine's day decorations will include Swoobat on them

-Male Swoobat will often have multiple partners at a time, with the entire colony caring for their young

-Swoobat berries, fruits, and insects. Often times, they'll leave their caves at night to go hunt for fruit, but there have been Swoobat colonies thst survive purely off of bugs in their caves

-Swoobat sleep upside-down with thir tail latching onto something to keep them in place

-The average lifespan for a Swoobat is 35 to 40 years

-Swoobat have very good hearing, which is amplified by their sound waves

-When a Swoobat likes you, they'll often stamp you with their nose or wrap their tail around your arm

-Both Woobat and Swoobat are very cuddly and their fur is very soft. Because of this, and their ability to create a calming effect with their soundwaves, they are often used by therapists

-While the pokedex doesn't mention it, Swoobat still keep the suction cups on their noses. They don't roost by applying them to cave walls however

-In some parts of the world, Swoobat's nose is seen as a good luck charm, and they'll chop it off to get it. This practice is seen as unethical in most parts of the world

-Swoobat's overbite helps them keep bug types in their mouths from escaping

The Applin often doesn’t fall far from the tree in the Pokémon world - in Ansy’s case, it just kinda tumbled onto the roots lol.

Meanwhile, Emmet doesn’t look terribly impressed with Ansy’s logic.

PS: in this corner of the Pokéverse, the Champion title is like it is in Paldea in most other regions that there’re more than one Champion, the reigning Champion being like Geeta, the final test. But I guess it could be the canon - we’ve heard of people who make it to the top, but refuse the title.

Anyways, TLDR: there’s more than one champion in most regions lol

Hi! I love your work, and figured you’d probably be the best person to ask for help in this case. I caught a petilil a few months ago, and she’s an absolute sweetheart. She seems ready to evolve quite soon, and I’ve heard unovan lilligant are really high-maintenance. Any tips on how I can take care of her?

I do! Some of this has been in my drafts for a while, actually! It's both Petelil and Lilligant, so I hope that's okay.

Petilil and Lilligant Care Tips

-Lilligant and Petilil are popular Pokemon. Petilil for their cute appearance and friendly nature, while Lilligant for their beauty, elegance, and their flower having medicinal qualities. HOWEVER, these Pokemon are high maintenance, and caring for one shouldn’t be taken lightly. A lot of trainers will impulse catch a Petilil or a Lilligant and not know how to care for them. So, here’s a guide on how to care for these Pokemon!

-These Pokemon need to be outside a lot, and a lot of trainers often keep them outside full time. They require a lot of sunlight, and not getting any for long periods of time can cause harm to them and even counts as abuse in some regions. Since they need a lot of sunlight and warmth, you shouldn’t have one if you live in a super cold region (I’m sorry to the people of Sinnoh). The best environment to have a Lilligant or Petilil as your partner would be somewhere that gets a lot of sunlight and rain. Alola would be the best spot to have a Lilligant. If you keep them away from sunlight, they can get depressed. Keep them away from sunlight longer, they get malnourished. Keep them away from sunlight even longer, and they become wilted and can die.

-They need very rich soil to live, which is how they get their energy. Individual Lilligant have their own specific preferences

-For diet, they don't need to eat sine they can get all of their energy from the sun

-You always need to make sure they have access to clean water. This is a need for almost all Pokemon, but Petilil and Lilligant especially. Their bodies are very sensitive, and water that’s been left out for a while can cause them to be sick. If they live outside, make sure you change the water bowl regularly, even if there is still water in it.

Introducing! ELESA, the new kid on the block! She's a tiny bedraggled child from Sinnoh and not all that familiar with Galarian, the spoken language in Unova. (One day she'll be amazing. Right now though, she just wants to go play in the mud. And maybe get a better set of hearing aids.)

When not bitterly lonely, she’s scheming to run back to her old home. Or chasing the local patrat. Or watching nervously from the sidelines as other children play on the swings. Oh elesa. (loosely inspired by @/noxstrages' incredible comics about elesa's origins! Ty for the food.)

i lived in the most suburban place imaginable, so it's a little hard to find an animal that isn't a bug or small bird or perhaps rodent, and the plant life is a bit too monocultured/lacking given the degree of development, but, uniquely, there's plenty of water around, and we did have a lake full of geese, ducks, and swans within walking distance. the elementary school playground had tons of waterfowl trudging about, and we even used to have a problem with a duck couple that'd try to nest in our pool. ducklett therefore feels appropriate!!
