Congress takes a jibe at Jaishankar Prasad on attacking Rahul Gandhi

The Congress Party has attacked External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar for criticizing Rahul Gandhi over his remarks on PM Narendra Modi during his overseas tour. Rahul Gandhi has time and again spoken about the Modi government and PM Modi negatively on foreign soil. The media and publicity department of Congress party head Pawan Khera said that he hopes that the minister can block the news reports that clearly show the inadequacy and incompetence of the Modi government.

“I hope Mr. Jaishankar was able to block the transmission of Hathras, Lakhimpur, farmers’ protests, wrestlers’ protests, news on Kathua, Unnao, Ankita Bhandari, Manipur, etc across the world,” Khera tweeted.

The congress functionary attacked Jaishankar and said,  “And he is supposed to be educated. Precondition to joining the Sangh brigade - travel light, leave your brains behind.”

The statement from Khera indicated towards Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) the said brain head of the ruling Bhartiya Janta Party.

Earlier, Jaishankar has spoken about Rahul Gandhi’s habit of criticizing India on foreign stages and his habit of taking national political matters outside of the country. He also added that he has no problem with what Rahul does inside the country but should refrain from making negative comments about the country outside the borders.

"Rahul Gandhi has a habit of criticizing the country and making comments on our politics whenever he goes abroad. The world is looking at us and what the world is seeing? Elections are held in the country and sometimes one party wins and at times the other party wins," Jaishankar said at a press conference.

"If there is no democracy in the country such changes should not come....2024 ka result toh wahi hoga, hamein pata hai," the minister added.

“If you see all the narratives (against the government), they are made within the country. If a narrative does not work or is less effective, then it is taken abroad. They expect that the outside support will work in India.”

Senior Congress party official remarked on Jaishankar’s statement and said that it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi who first started discussing the internal matters on international platforms.
