Ahsjaksjs this is literally so funny of you bestie
Also Umbra's whole.. deal makes me feel like she would also be super oblivious in her own way. She wouldn't examine the exact nature of her feelings, she has more important things to worry about!! So they're gonna be a truly hilarious <33
I. Have been thinking about Medea like "okay, I've finally done it. I've made a cishet character. I can make and be interested in straight characters."
And somehow it only just clicked in my brain that I'm absolutely going to have there be something between Umbra and Medea because what could be more romantic than doing vigilante justice together?
I almost feel obligated to make that obliviousness part of her character itself now. Ladies, is it gay for you and your galpal to wander around the streets together enjoying each other's company and also interfering in any violent crimes you find in progress to drink the perpetrator's blood?

BG3 Masterlist
Hereby find a list of my writing (revolving exclusively around Baldur's Gate 3 because I have brainrot).
If you feel like it I'd be more than happy to receive prompt to work with (however I am quite slow just so you know ^^)!
Disclaimer: Most NSFW pieces are not posted on this platform in their entirety and will relay a link to the full version on AO3. This allows the reader to consult the full list of tags and CW before interacting with any potential triggering scenario. NSFW does not necessarily means smut: it can also indicate violence or possible triggering themes.
Head Canon Blobs
Companions Filmmaker Edition - What roles would the BG3 characters be taking on a film set?
Companions Party Edition - Who brings what to Tav birthday party?
Companions Music Edition - Which instruments do the Tadfools Band (and others) play and why?
Companions Pokemon Edition - Which Pokemon would the companions choose
One Shot Fictions
The Contemplations and Conclusions of Minsc of Rashemen - SFW - A stream of consciousness following Minsc's (and Boo's) reading of their new (and old) comrades.
A Night to Remember - SFW - The drunken shenaningans of two tadfools out in Baldur's Gate. (Astarion/Shadowheart (platonic))
A Modicum of Decorum - SFW - An old friend attempts to visit Gale. Unfortunately Tav is at the door. (Gale/Tav)
Wounds of Love - SFW - Lae'zel is obsessed with the wizard and needs to do something about it. (Astralweave: Gale/Lae'zel)
Ashes to Ashes - SFW - During the first year in Szarr Palace, Astarion has grown very close to one of the other spawn. (Astarion/Male!OC)
The Treasure among the Scale - NSFW - Wyll encounters a distressed mermaid on the beach and decides to help her out. (Wyll/Unnamed Fem!OC)
A Cone of Cold you Made of Me - NSFW - Gale visits an old flame. She is not happy to see him. (Gale/Unnamed Fem!OC)
On My Lord's Lap - NSFW - Lord Astarion and his consort Gale receive an adventuring party reporting on their missi. (Bloodweave: Ascended Astarion/Consort Gale)
A Wild Magic You Cast - NSFW - She infuriates him; her talent for magic matches only the chaos she triggers. (Gale/Fem!Wild Sorcerer Durge)
Blooodweave week 2024 - SFW & NSFW This series consists of 6 one shot chapters and 1 multi-chapters fic centered around the Bloodweave ship (Astarion/Gale)
Multi-Chapters Fictions
The Wizard Who Read Everything - 3 chapters - Pairing: Gale/Named Fem!OC - SFW
The wizard had struggled to find an apprentice for quite some time. When he finally does, he find himself quite intrigued by his new hire. It is not appropriate but he can't help think about her. The racy literature that she writes as a hobby does not help. Neither does the fact that he reads in secret…
What is left of what once was - 5 chapters - Pairing: Gale/Fem!Tav - Ascended Astarion/Fem!Tav - NSFW
Astarion has ascended. He has all he has ever wanted. Except you, since you chose Gale over him. Now that he is a Vampire Lord he will not let you go so easily.
Roll Initiative - 4 chapters -Pairing: Gale/Astarion - Alternative Universe - NSFW
This is not Astarion's idea of fun but he begrudgingly agreed to join Wyll's current D&D tabletop campaign: the prospect of rolling dice and hallucinate a quest for 2 hours does not appeal to him at all. At least the game master is cute...
My Tavs & Durges
Most of them are silly geese. I like puns and inventing wacky backstories for them.
Tavs
Medra Gonbites - Drow Paladin
Denisious Delicious - Rock Gnome Bard (& co-op Tav Denise Delice - Wood Half-Elf Druid)
Mari Zoto - Human Monk
Durges
Dana R'Whaal - High Elf Sorcerer
Robert (Bob) Slay - Half-Orc Warlock
Zorthos Akognto Yerwitcher - Tiefling Cleric
I hope you enjoy my work! Comments and feedbacks are always appreciated of course !

my players are geniuses at designing characters and inspire me to be a better dnd player
A friend of mine did an excellent analysis of our pcs from the DnD game they run, and it inspired me to do the same with the pcs in my games. I run two right now, so lets start with the campaign we commonly refer to as “The Horrors”
For background, the campaign started out as a standard Curse of Strahd game, but took an INSANE turn when one player made a warlock pact with Strahd, eventually aiding in events that would cause an entire city to be destroyed and another pc killed and turned into a dhampir. Speaking of that dhampir, lets start with him
Poor. Fucking. Kiriko.
Already reeling from the death of his father, Kiriko was pulled into Barovia along with the rest of the party. After another pc, Dench, made a pact with Strahd, he was killed by the Count and transformed into a dhampir (a lesser vampire essentially). In this rebirth as something horrific, he was stripped of his autonomy in such a fundamental way that its debatable if calling him a human anymore is entirely accurate. On top of being forcibly changed into something he never wanted to be, a hunger grew within him. This hunger only got worse, but Kiriko’s moral compass wouldn’t allow him to kill and feed upon blood like a typical vampire would. His body, blood-starved, started acting against his will.
His autonomy was so irrevocably taken from him that his own body challenges his commands. People offer him ways to quell this hunger ethically, but will it ever bring his autonomy back? If he stopped feeding, his body would take over again. He doesn’t gain any autonomy from finding an ethical way to quell his hunger; he still has to do something he doesn’t want to do so that his body doesn’t force him to do something morally horrifying.
On top of his humanity and bodily autonomy being ripped from him, he was thrust into a position of leadership by the people he depends on the most. After two of his closest allies (the other two pcs) died in combat, everyone started to look towards him for leadership. Fuck his personal issues, am I right? Now he has to worry about EVERYONE’S issues. From this position of leadership, he has been made to do a number of things, including being forced to share his trauma in front of essentially the NATO of this world in order to convince them to band together to defeat Strahd and the beings who control him (long story). And when he needed the people around him most for support, many of them started to vanish. His father figure tried to walk out the second his hidden identity was discovered, one of his longest-standing allies was kidnapped by Strahd and is currently being held as a bargaining piece, and the sister of the guy in captivity threatening to confront Strahd BY HERSELF to get her brother back. On top of all of this, his boyfriend has the AUDACITY to complain to him that Kiriko has been stripping some of his autonomy away from him. Like fucking read the room RJ.
Yet, despite all the loss of autonomy and the unnamable horrors he’s been forced to endure, Kiriko keeps going. He’s the only surviving pc from the original party, he’s gained the courage to stand up against Strahd and boldly make a deal to save the life of his friend, and he *has* lead his people successfully in defending the Material Plane from eldritch attacks. He keeps pushing, in many ways he has to. He’s running from everything that made him this way, all of the trauma he’s had to endure, hoping that on the other side he’ll find the respite and autonomy that he’s been so inextricably denied. And this running isn’t the cowardly type of running that’s typically meant when someone says a person is running from their problems. Its by nature courageous, he’s pushing ahead despite everything chasing him and trying to pull him down (one time literally into Hell). And in this effort, he keeps growing. Becoming more courageous, carving out what little bits of autonomy he can from the situation he’s been forced into, becoming stronger and more admirable. Becoming strong like his father.
The other analyses will probably be shorter, just because these are the second pcs these players have had to play, after I killed their original characters in a combat they could never win (I thought they would run ToT)

Hey! I know you're still in the plotting stages for your WIPs but your moodboards and whole aesthetic have me so curious about them! Thanks for taking questions about them. :)
Of your three WIPs, is there a character that are you most excited to write? Why that character in particular?
Do your WIPs overlap in any way? (i.e. The same fantasy world, characters who appear more than once, etc).
For the vampire cowfolk WIP, what are your main inspirations for the story and/or characters?
hello, hello! & thank you so much! i really, truly appreciate your questions! x
1. hmmm, great question! i’m thrilled to be writing all of my characters, though the ones i think about consistently are the leads for my pirate wip, therefore i am the most excited to write them. these characters are the pirate queen, her lover, the admiral of the (unnamed) navy, a captain within said navy, and the captain’s lieutenant (who is, perhaps, a little more to him than just a subordinate…). there’s no particular reason as to why, i just find their narratives absolutely fascinating. explaining further tends to enter spoiler territory, hehe.
2. nope! they are unique in setting. each differ in worldbuilding extraordinarily, which can be overwhelming at times. i do so only because the time periods they are based on deviate so exponentially from one another, and explaining the space in between would be more work than is necessary!
3. ooooooo, love this one! okay, so, my main inspirations for my vampire cowfolk wip are dracula by bram stoker, carmilla by sheridan le fanu, vampire: the masquerade (the tabletop rpg in general, though specifically a campaign my partner produced for my birthday one year), the games fallout: new vegas and bloodborne, and the movie van helsing, directed by stephen sommers!
thank you again! & if you have any more questions, absolutely feel free to ask! i do love rambling about my babies <3 & i would love to hear about your’s as well, if you’d ever want to share!

Writing Poll!
Thanks @dreamwatch for the tag!!! 🥰
rules: make a 24-hour poll with the names of your wips and then for whichever wins, write one sentence for every vote it gets (but you should also write 1 sentence for every vote each of them gets!)
When it’s over I’ll post a snippet of any/all wips that get at least one vote 💜
No pressure tags: @penny00dreadful @brbsoulnomming @thisapplepielife @manda-panda-monium
Summaries below the cut:
No Vacany - (Have not started posting yet, still in the vibes/planning stage but i'm hoping to start putting it out in the next few weeks!)
When Eddie Munson arrives at the Buckingham Beach Motel to spend the summer with his BFF Chrissy and her business partner Robin, the last person he expects to see waiting in the lobby is former king of Hawkins High and asshole extraordinaire, Steve fucking Harrington.
Spicy six Summer challenge fic - Hurricane - (God, this thing needs a name! I would really like to get this one completed in the next week or so)
When a major Hurricane is projected to hit Hawkins (technically it’s more like the remnants of a hurricane, but the residents of Hawkins don’t really know the difference or care), Dustin is worried about his new friend and DM. Eddie Munson lives in a trailer, a structure not known for its resilience against severe weather. He invites the older boy to ride the storm out with him and his mom at home, unaware that she has made arrangements for them to stay with family that live far away from the storm's trajectory. He doesn’t want to leave his friend high and dry, enter Dustin’s favorite babysitter: Steve Harrington.
Steve Harrington:Vampire Hunter - (Posted up to part 7/16)
Steve Harrington is an animator. It’s a job that involves raising the dead; sometimes as a service for mourning relatives looking for closure, often as a tool for the courts to settle disputes. Steve Harrington is also a licensed vampire hunter. Two years ago, vampirism became legal in the United States, granting its undead population citizenship. With this new legal status comes a complication for Steve, as he finds himself tasked with helping the very creatures he is accustomed to killing. Speaking of complications, Steve struggles in more ways than one when he finds himself working closely with none other than Eddie Munson, an undeniably sexy several-hundred-years old master vampire. Or, The Anita Blake/Steddie mashup that nobody asked for but I’m having far too much fun with.
Life is a Game - (This is posted up to part 6 and i estimate we're roughly halfway through the story.)
‘86 baby. For the last few years, Eddie and his younger cousin Dustin, along with his friends, Mike, Lucas, and Will have been playing D&D together in the Wheeler’s basement. It’s a crazy home brew campaign that only contains loose elements from actual D&D and weaves in heavily embellished events from their real lives. They all play characters that are a version of themselves, and the many NPC’s are modeled after friends, family, and other people they know. It’s been a wild fucking ride.
- In 1983 Steve Harrington finds someone in the woods.

Oh we’re running blorbo propaganda campaigns right now? I thought that would only begin after voting did. Well then, please allow me to elaborate further on my Jesse Custer submission!
Believe me, I’m aware that not a lot of people have watched this show (probably even fewer have read the comics; even I haven’t). But I’m also aware that a lot of people should. The titular Preacher, our aforementioned plural king(s), takes the form of Dominic Cooper with a clerical collar, collar tips, and magic Dom powers. Trust me, he’s hot. Even if you’re not attracted to men, I’m fairly confident declaring that you’d still be attracted to Dominic Cooper as a cowboy-goth priest with collar tips and magic Dom powers.
Tumblr media
Your Honor, look AT him.
Have I mentioned that the plot of this show is Jesse’s road trip quest to find God and hold him accountable for his many atrocities? Because that’s a mission that objectively has extreme swag. And as if Jesse doesn’t have enough swag on his own, he also has a badass girlfriend and a vampire boyfriend who also have copious swag themselves.
But enough about Jesse’s swag. Let’s talk about his plurality (since I’m the only person I know who does). As per my official submission, your honor, during one key episode of this series, a curious thing happens. Jesse, imprisoned in the same torture device that he was made to endure as a child, suddenly retreats into what is unmistakeable an inner world. There he talks to an unnamed man referred to only as “the Missouri Cowboy,” who is clearly an introject of Jesse’s idol, John Wayne (and I KNOW we all love to see some introject love and recognition around here, right?) The cowboy tells Jesse how to escape his torture coffin, which is something Jess himself was unable to do by himself. (Furthermore, after escaping, Jesse goes on to kill the members of his family who held him captive and traumatized him as a child. As I said, swag.) Sadly we never see or hear about the Missouri Cowboy again (at least in the TV series), but his single appearance is more than enough. I rest my case.
If he makes it into the bracket and only gets one vote, that vote will be me and I’ll be proud to do it. If he gets 2 votes, it may well be because I convinced the only other headmate in our system who has a tumblr blog to vote for him as well. If Jesse only gets 3 votes, it will probably be because I bullied my partner (who cosplays him!) to vote for him too. Jesse Custer may not be a popular blorbo from a popular IP, but he is my babygirl and I will run the most insufferably annoying campaign for him because my heart is SO full of LOVE, your honor.
YOU (POSITIVE)
FELLOW VERTIGO STAN IN MY POLL!
Fun fact: the vaguely worded possession guideline in the rules is actually partially so I can't finagle John Constantine into the poll on a technicality or three. However one of my other Vertigo blorbos is trendy rn so I will also say: Dream of the Endless + whatever Daniel has going on? plural. you know already
also to be clear folks: an essay like this gives your blorbo way more of a chance to get in! let em loose. be annoying (affectionate) in my inbox

The motive of Calypso and other blood hunters: You need to have a stronger way to stop evil. How so? Becoming a monster yourself. In the BG3 gameplay, it's the same thing but with a sorcerer's pact.

Stares at umbra i have created a walking masquerade breach. Every single discipline rated at MINIMUM a medium-high risk to the masquerade. A touchstone who's already breaking the masquerade. Hunting style is all about physically and violently overpowering someone, and no abilities to alter those memories. Even if she did have that ability it's questionable whether her convictions would allow her to use it

4. A character you rarely talk about?
Valiel / Nihilus / and Absinthe I guess. I didn't put a whole lot of character building into any 3 of them besides kinda being side characters to more important ocs stories (Val and Absinthe for Michael, Nihilus for Gabriel) and that's on me. Val is a very lovely angel who is a loyal soldier, and one of Michael's closest friends/confidants. Maybe even lover at rare points idk. Nihilus is another priest in Gabriel's world, either one who trained alongside him or Gabriel trained himself? Friend turned someone who's suspicious of Gabriel. Absinthe is a succubus demon who butts heads with Michael frequently. I have a fun little idea of a 3 team save the world type interaction between Absinthe, Michael, and Mariel, where Mariel kinda helps Michael and Absinthe better get along.
8. Do you RP as any of your OCs? If you do, introduce one of your RP OCs here!
I dont sadly. I've tried to make oc rp blogs in the past but I get overwhelmed on trying to make the blog look nice and just being shy overall with them. I would love to rp more in private though so. If you're interested dm me or smth idk
10. Introduce an OC with a complicated design?
I think Augustine's design is the most complicated rn. All the frills and ornate designs gold watchers have... god. And ofc I want Augustine to be more flashy compared to other gold watchers, that's just what Augustine gives. Eventually I want to draw a more full body portrait of Augustine but eehhhhh hard
37. Introduce an OC who is not quite human
Victor :)
Tumblr media
Victor's species is a species that evolved aside humanity, sharing humanoid traits but obviously different. They feed off of humans, and while their species is unnamed, Victor will allow you to call them a vampire since that's the closest analog to them that humans have come up with. They are not a vampire. Victor has lived for about 300 years but is not immortal. Their species hails from Siberia so they are white and have point coloration on their extremities. They are also all intersex, each member of the species able to get pregnant or get others pregnant. But it's usually a dominance thing when it comes to breeding where more submissive members of the tribe are the ones to carry young. Their species can vocalize like humans can, and in fact is how they lure human prey to their deaths, mimicking human voices calling for help. Victor was different though and actually learned how to speak and learned about humanity. They still ofc need to eat human prey so they gave themselves a code to only eat shitty people they meet or people they like tell them about. Lol.
41. Has anyone drawn fanart of your OCs? If yes, maybe show a picture or two here (remember sources & permissions!)
aaaa yes yes 🥺
For Michael someone on my tmc blog drew this of him:
Tumblr media
It makes me sad bc they submitted it anonymously so I don't know who did it but it's so good.
I also commissioned my partner (not tagging his blog for now bc he's been targeted by a huge harassment campaign) to draw Michael:
Tumblr media
For Gabriel there's a couple drawings from when he was an ihnmaims au oc with a couple other ocs from that server / Ted
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I dont remember who did these unfortunatelllyy
And ofc my partner has doodled him a couple times:

Thank you so much for askingggg ;;;;;

Session 6
Posting my D&D sessions’ notes here so that I can find them again
(continuation of day 4 in Barovia and our time in the castle-  as we were given permission to wander the castle as long as we stay out of the basement)
MiMeow gets cooking lessons from the chef
cool fact- the cooks are almost all Zombies except the guy that is specifically teaching her
weird
the rest of us minus Cat Damon go to the Library
we do research, and here's what we get:
About Vampires
2 main strength categories are pure and spawn (spawn is weaker and less dangerous)
they aren't actually allergic to garlic (which is funny bc Cat Damon bought a garlic necklace to wear to the castle to ward them off lol)
they do regenerate quickly in battle
they are also notoriously difficult to keep dead
they don't like sunlight
Mist (in general)
can poison you
you can get lost in it
Vistani Records
The ancient text describes the *human* Madame Eva having a multigenerational battle with an unnamed woman that is hinted to be Strahd's mother
the last entry in this text was 50 years ago when they were both noted as being alive and still in this feud
Strahd's mom is said to have a core group of blighted druids (ya know like the ones we fought in the winery and all their tree bois aka the needle blights)
Baba La'Saga is a witch that may or may not be Strahd's mom
Dark Masters- didn't find anything specifically unfortunately bc I rolled really, really bad on this one
Other Mist Realms
Borca is nearby
Mordent is a human settlement in a Mist Realm nearby too
there's one just known as "The Carnival"
Baba La’Saga
hag or witch or maybe both?
lives in a swamp/bog hut
according to the royal record, she is not the mother
Lord Glaive
Vampire
he and his master wanted to overthrow the Dark Masters
came to Barovia for help to hold the line against the Dark Masters so they wouldn't be able to attack Azaroc on both sides
General Volen worked with Glaive and his master (but he and Glaive had a falling out per session 5 notes)
Glaive's Master is known as the "Lord of the Mist Keep" but has no known name
(Per session 5 notes- Glaive also had a minion that was sent to wipe out the Kingdom of Valentina, which is also where the world timeline starts for Azaroc, Year 0- the fall of the Great Kingdom of Valentina)
Magic Armor (Kas's special interest)
was used in the war to retake Barovia from the Dark Masters
wearable animated armor is a thing that can be done
Fairytales about Dragons (Kaida's special interest)
An army of dragons was led by a mortal human to fend off the Dark Masters (no further information could be found on this topic)
Great Dragons rose up in Azaroc and were the ones to form it into what it is now, then they disappeared for a long time and have recently started reappearing again
Bahamut (platinum dragon- a god of dragons aligned to good) and Tiamat (chromatic multiheaded dragoness, goddess of dragons aligned to evil) stories
The Laughing Silver Dragon
Old Snarl
Shadow Dragon that lived in a swamp that killed a whole town (we actually faced and killed off this one in the last campaign)
I also took the time to talk to Ludmilla, who was also in the library working while we were there and I thought she may be a good resource. Here's what she gave me:
She is 800 years roughly, and originally from Azaroc (Serpent's Keep area) and was taken by the mist while collecting herbs, she married Strahd who protected her here and sponsored/encouraged her research
Glaive was in Barovia to set the agreement about 400 years ago in Barovia time, which is over 2000 years ago in Azaroc time (yikes)
Here are her notes on the Dark Masters:
they were/are mortals that were able to gather enough people and power to allow them to split up/conquer the Mist Realms
each mist realm must be tied to one person in order to anchor it (in Barovia that is Strahd), these are the Mist Lords that control the Mists
the mist lords do not seem to be fed off of by the land but this may still be powering the Dark Masters that control them
the mist lords also cannot leave their realms or all the people in that realm will die and the realm will fade/disappear entirely from existence
an experiment was done to try and take some villagers out of Barovia to see if they could evacuate the realm before letting Strahd out, but the villagers would die/reappear in Barovia if they tried to leave
Barovia also apparently recycles souls of the dead via reincarnations that cause them to retain some memories of their past lives as well as looks/personalities
she is presently researching arcane servants and will be testing out elementals, demons, fae, and the undead as potential servants
we also talked about part of the landscapes and areas of this world
she is one of the people that are able to actually leave this plane via the Mist
After this, Kaida and I start wandering around and we split up
I meet up with Cat Damon- he has a new hat that he allegedly just happened to find... sus
we see the royal room above the chapel but hear some weird clicking footsteps leading away from us
we follow them downstairs and enter the main chapel
I see the apparition of Katrina, the Dusk Elven Vistani woman that was stoned to death, confirming that her soul is in fact stuck here in Castle Ravenloft, but she disappears soon after being seen
then Cat and I hear a swish of fabric and a door closing quickly, so we follow
more doors suddenly close matched with the sound of those same clicky steps and we run after to catch whoever is there
it is now late into the night, so the rest of the party is gathered upstairs as we are chasing this apparition or whatever through the castle
we catch up to it and I run into someone that is physically there, but I cannot see them
she unveils herself as a fake Vistani and presses the point of her blade into me as a threat
she informs us that her name is Esmerelda, apprentice to Van Rectin
she has a metal prosthetic foot and her jacket emblem matched the one on the peculiar wagon by the abandoned tower
she is not supposed to be thereand she disappears just as quickly as she had revealed herself
upstairs, Esher gives MiMeow a recipe that at the bottom asking to see if our Benefactor would be able to offer him asylum so he can escape Barovia
she tells him she will try out his recipe and get back to him with how it turns out
wink wink
(now day 5 in Barovia)
Strahd sees us off the next morning and we take the Black Carriage back to Villaki
Cat and I are looking out the carriage windows when we see Esmerelda standing off in the bushes watching us go by
Cat and I wave to her
Lindsay and I said that that was our actions at the exact same time bc we share one brain cell and its overly friendly at the worst of times
Rictavio is back at the Vistani camp and we are given a warm welcome bc all the Vistanis think that we are the ones that saved him
suddenly I think we know why Esmerelda was in the Castle Ravenloft
but we don't correct the Vistani
we work with Kasimir to start off for the Mount Ghakis' Amber Temple which supposedly has a scroll to help save the trapped soul of his sister, Katrina
I inform him that we saw her apparition in the castle and he is thankful for the info
while the rest of the group is upset with me for sharing that?
we are warned about hunting packs of werewolves in the forests that we will be traveling
great.
Cat Damon is also suddenly super scared of the idea of a lich in the mountains
which is weird bc liches haven't been brought up in this realm up until that point
sus.
I try to make the mood lighter by having my character swap the words Liches and Leeches
I thought Born (Kas's player) was going to come through the computer to strangle me he was so mad
it was wonderful
so naturally I had to up the ante
I reminded him that none of us even know what werewolves look like, as we've never come across them
we just know that they are half-wolf and half human
so technically
they could be centaurs of a wolf body and a human head/torso
Lindsay upped it from there with it being them being wolf body with just a human head that walks like Bigfoot
Born was getting hella frustrated with us making it worse from there
but that's where we closed for tonight and we will pick up the next game with our trek up the mountain

WIPs, WIPs, Literally Everywhere WIPs
Rules: Post the names of all the files in your WIP folder regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous. Let people send you an ask with the title that most intrigues them and then post a little snippet of it or tell them something about it! And then tag as many people as you have WIPs. I have deemed that this isn’t just for writing either. Sketch titles? Comics? DnD campaigns? If you have an unfinished project, it counts!!
I was not tagged by anyone, but @scarvenartist had an open tag and this looked fun, so here goes!
(also there’s no such thing as a WIP folder for me 😂 it’s a free-for-all in my documents folder)
for the sake of this game I'm limiting it to WIPs that are actively being worked on in one way or another
stories/novels/other writing:
unnamed raven novel
The Secret in the Glade
and I speak a barbarous tongue
I See It Crimson, I See It Red
Briar
in the garden of an
catholic vampire story
Kare's Defeat (goes with "in the garden of an")

Do you have a top 5 or 10 for your OCs? I feel you on the D&D character thing- I do similar but never thought of them as actual OCs till recently.
hmm i could maybe do a top 5?? 10??? but that shit varies depending on which blorbos on the brain djsmdmsmfjs
in no particular order
-Adrien (and everyone connected to him, getting lumped together cuz he has a Lot), a multi series oc currently chilling in my dnd setting
-Temperance, a changeling warlock i play in @someoneratherstrange 's dnd campaign with so much trauma and TWO (two!) adopted found family siblings, one of whom is an amnesiac mushroom guy (the other is a sorcerer burn victim on the run from a vampire clan)
-Azarain, a drow assassin-turned-cleric in the same campaign, whos like if a youth pastor was actually cool while still being a huge loser
-Delphi, my first ever dnd pc turned campaign npc, a tiefling warlock currently stuck in Barovia
-Valkan, a oneshot PC turned NPC whos a shadar-kai (shadow elf) necroficer (necromantic artificer), currently helping to keep a major city in the shadowfell from being besieged by monster swarms
-gaius, a restaurant owner npc for a far future campaign, a tiefling and a chaotic bastard who stumbled into community lynchpin entirely by accident
EDIT: far future in that. i wont be running THAT campaign for a while, its not a future setting sjdjsjdjd
-an unnamed family of 3 who work as potters, an orc father, a tiefling mother, and a half orc daughter, whomst i ADORE
-damakos, an evil character ive had for years now who constantly has shit running in the background but is careful never to move to the forefront of the heroes attention. very fun to play with
-solaire, another npc from a players backstory, currently MIA but served in a knightly order of paladins, from a culture of people who pass down the names of legendary heroes to their children in the hopes of granting them heroic destinies (inspired by the dark souls character of the same name)
-Melech, beloved blorbo from my future campaign that i can barely talk about because my players follow this blog smdmsmdjsjd
i have many many more because i spend my free time making npcs, pantheons and various entities for dnd shit and just get way too invested, but those guys are just off the top of my head

How was the sequel to Tales from The Hood, a shitshow?
The original Tales from the Hood, while having some campy horror elements, still managed to present its stories and tone competently while still incorporating themes of struggles of black Americans in urban areas.
Examples:
A black politician who’s been trying to fight against police corruption gets beaten to death and injected with drugs post-mortem by said corrupt cops to slander his name. The politician returns from the dead to exact vengeance. Obviously this short tackles police brutality and corruption.
A little boy and his mother who are constantly beaten and abused by what he draws and identifies as a ‘monster’ who, it turns out, is the mother’s new boyfriend. The theme here is Domestic Violence and how often people try to brush it under the rug as just a way of life in the community.
A former klansman-turned senator buys a building called ‘The Dollhouse’ that is of high historical significance to the local black community, despite their wishes and complaints, to serve as the headquarters for his racist campaign to become governor. The house in of itself was where a confederate-supporter, after the loss of the Civil War, decided to murder all of his slaves rather than see them freed. Their restless souls haunted the place until a ‘voodoo woman’ managed to calm their souls and place them into dolls. You can pretty much guess where this is going and the themes.
The final entry centers around a gang-member who, after getting hunted and shot down by rival gang-members, is taken into police custody and is given one last chance for freedom by a doctor’s new, radical behavioral therapy program. Said therapy takes a note right out of A Clockwork Orange and bombards our main character with alternating images of brutal gang-violence and KKK lynchings. After which, he is berated with apparitions of all the people he’s shot and killed; including a little girl who was a victim during one of his drive-by shootings. Of course, this kind of therapy will only be successful if the subject shows some remorse...
And all of this is wrapped in a framing device of three gang-members trying to find some drugs at a funeral-home, even harassing the funeral-director, which turns out to be a portal into hell.
... *deep breath*
I have to do a ‘Read More’ because this post got long. But I implore you guys to read on to see the abyss of insanity and bad directions that were taken in regards to the sequel of this movie. Please.
The sequel decided to throw ALL NUANCE AND TACT out of the window and give us such wonderful stories as:
A white girl and a black girl are on a road-trip and decide to go to the... ugh... Museum of Negrosity where the owner chastises them on thinking that the uncomfortable racist memorabilia he owns (collections of minstrel show cartoons, golliwog and pickaninny dolls) are things of the past instead of acknowledging them as parts of America’s racist past. And, for some reason, the white girl is obsessed with buying one of the golliwog dolls because she had one when she was little. Anyway, they sneak back in later with the white girl’s brother who happens to be the black girl’s boyfriend, so they can steal one of the dolls. Through hijinks, the doll comes to life and grows to the size of a human being. The brother/boyfriend gets whipped to death, the black girl gets cut in half by a minstrel-colored guillotine, and the white girl... Fucks the giant golliwog doll, gets pregnant, and a few days later, has her stomach torn open as a bunch of baby versions of the doll go flying out everywhere.
Some gang-members track down a former pimp who’s changed his ways to try and shake him down for some owed money. He doesn’t comply, so they kill him but, golly-gee! How are they going to get the money now~? Oh, I know! Hold a scam medium hostage so he can perform a seance to talk to the pimp to find out about the money. But, oh no~ It looks like the medium’s powers decide to actually work this time~ Ooh~
Two douchebags hookup with two hot chicks and, after the world’s worst game of Cards Against Humanity, they decide to roofie the girls so they can record themselves raping them so they can post it to ‘le dark web’. ... Lo’ and behold, the girls turn out to be vampires who were playing 4D chess to rope the two douchebags in so they can use them for their own recording-something-brutal-to-post-online scheme.
And... The LAST one. Oh my God, the LAST ONE. *deep breath* Okay.
So we follow a black republican councilman who is married to a white woman and they’re expecting a baby after a long line of miscarriages. But the wife is having weird bouts of bad dreams and insomnia. What are the bad dreams about?
... I need you guys to understand. That I am not shitposting when I type the following words. *deep breath* Okay.
The wife is being haunted by the ghost of Emmett Till telling her that she doesn’t deserve to have her baby. You know? Emmett Till? The victim of one of the most brutal, horrific murders in America due to one of the most disgusting, vile acts of racism? THAT EMMETT TILL?!
So..! The black councilman is working for a white politician who... I’m just going to put a direct quote from the movie so you can get where they were coming from.
“That man wants to close down ten more voting locations, all of them in black districts!”
Anyway, after a house-call from a doctor who brushes off the dreams as hormones, the councilman hosts a party for the politician who’s running slogan is ‘Let’s take Mississippi back!’ Gee-golly-willickers! Can’t imagine where they were coming from with that one!!
So the party goes on, the politician even congratulating our councilman on his ‘white wife’, but said wife rushes downstairs after having another dream; ranting about ‘that boy from the field has decided to LIVE! And if he lives, our baby’s going to die!’ And she runs outside with a machete to try and kill the ghost of Emmett Till (who, again, very real person and victim of racist brutality).
So the councilman’s mother and the local voodoo expert drive up and the voodoo expert tells the councilman that Emmett Till is trying to talk to him about the nature of sacrifice. The next day, the wife is talking about how her stomach is getting smaller, but the councilman doesn’t want to hear any of it and calls the doctor again. And, guys..?! If shit hadn’t jumped the rails before?! The train just starts doing cartwheels from here.
The doctor is suspiciously short-tempered with the politician this time around and he does examine the wife to confirm that her stomach is indeed shrinking. However, when he’s told that the councilman is the father, he storms out and snaps “I don’t work for coloreds!”
Then the wife runs out of bed and tells the doctor that the councilman isn’t her husband and that he kidnapped and raped her. So both the wife and the doctor drive off and the councilman realizes that the world has somehow gone back to the era of Jim Crow.
... Oooh my gosh, typing this is making me want to commit toaster-bath but it gets so much worse..!
So, after the voodoo expert comes to chastise the councilman about not ‘respecting the sacrifices that have been gifted to you’, he is able to see the ghost of Emmett Till (who was a real person, why is this happening..?!) who is there to tell him that he’s decided that he wants to live. Which means that the world will never see the brutal images of his body at his funeral and that will cause a Butterfly Effect in history that will make it so that the Civil Rights Movement never happened.
You may be questioning the logistics of this, but don’t worry! The ghosts of the girls killed in the 1963 16th Street Baptist Church Bombing in Birmingham come to explain and further berate the councilman about ‘respecting the sacrifices that have been gifted to him’ and working for a racist politician.
But wait! There’s more! *whines* I keep crying out to God but he won’t answer...
They’re soon joined by the ghosts of the three Freedom Riders who were killed during the Mississippi Burning Murders, the ghost of Civil Rights Activist Medgar Evers, and DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.
Not to mention several other unnamed figures who walk up while everyone else starts chanting about ‘respecting the sacrifices that have been gifted to you’, who look like Rosa Parks and Frederick Douglass, just to name a few.
... I need a drink. I need a cold, stiff drink. ... Almost done.
So, in comes the Klan. You know, the white-robed bastards; I hear they have an outreach center a few cities away from me. Sure, fine, whatever. The wife is leading them along with the white politician who hits the councilman’s mother in the face with a baton and Emmett Till stops time just as reinforcements show up to tell the councilman that, in order for everything to go back to normal, he has to join the ranks of those who sacrificed.
“If what you want is worth us dying for, how come its not worth you dying for?!”
And, at first, the councilman disagrees; even being dragged away by Klansmen. However! It’s his wife angrily spitting in his face that makes him realize that this world isn’t the world he wants to live in. So he runs over to Emmett Till to tell him that he will join him... And then he’s beaten to death, becoming a sacrifice to get the world back to normal. And, once it is, his spirit joins Emmett Till’s and walks off into the great beyond.
So! Not only did this schlocky, B-movie horror movie sequel decide to use a REAL LIFE VICTIM of racism-driven brutality as a story-device, but it also wants to put forth the message that the people who lost their lives during the Civil Rights Movement? Yeah, they HAD to die! Otherwise the Civil Rights Movement would never have happened~!
You see why I hate the sequel to Tales from the Hood so much? Not even mentioning the terrible framing segments of a racial-profiling robot being told these stories so it knows what ‘criminals’ to go after, but this movie is just a temple of ‘WHY?! WHY ARE YOU LIKE THIS?!?!?!’
