Blinks like a cat
1 2 and 4 for the Oc ask?
rubs my little hands together.
ill preface this by saying that bc we're still writing PoF atm so most of what im thinking of is just before (JUST before) the departing :3c
1. What kind of person do the other members of Dragon's Watch think they are, and how accurate is that assessment?
I think... it's a mixed bag. because on one hand, they see him as trustworthy and reliable. theyve never seen him cry, theyve never seen him 'lose'. the closest any of them got was the ones who were there for Hearts and Minds (namely Rytlock who carried him back to camp when he just sat there in shock, refusing to move). and to an extent, that IS accurate.
but the main problem is that haru has never let anyone get closer than that (on purpose). its getting a little better now but he's just so... closed off. PoF is literally him at his Worst in terms of like, he's irritable, he's impatient, he's struggling to work out why he's still doing all of this. and he's afraid of not being the leader they need. sobs.
so in short, they think hes a decent guy who's maybe coping as well as anyone could in his role but probably don't see the depths of what he's hiding. and i think some of them feel that professional distance.
2. What kind of person do they think they are? How accurate is that?
oh god. i dont know if he even knows.
he probably sees himself as the (un)luckiest guy alive. all these opportunities and chances to see and do great things but he still sometimes feels like that sapling who couldn't even hold a conversation for longer than a minute.
he truly sees himself as unremarkable but with remarkable things happening to him.
as for how he thinks about himself as a person, I imagine he sees himself as just. Average. he sees enough of his own shortcomings to feel like the things that make him Good are kind of par for the course.
now... I don't really think he's Right about all that. he is a good guy and he tries his best. patting his head that's really all you can ever ask for. but yknow. being in his position, trying your best and still failing has drastic consequences.
4. How intertwined is the role of Commander with them as an individual? Are they lost without it?
oh he's nothing without it.
he was born and probably only spent a few months in the grove trying to learn how to read and speak and then suddenly it was like okay. time to go valiant. time to get to work, lightbringer. lets go, commander. he sort of got swept up in it all before he had a chance to really give any thought to what he wanted to do. because he had Nothing, no real skills or anything at birth, he probably thought he should take any opportunity he could get because lord knows he's got nothing else going for him, right?
that was at least the trigger for him to get involved. after that, well. there was another reason to stay, of course. twirling my hair.
and even though he doesn't want anything to do with the Pact on an official level anymore, and he kind of doesnt even really enjoy having a position of power like that, he would be lost without it. the only identity he ever formed was as commander. post EoD is going to be very bad for him. grinning.

dammit, I'm thinking about the possibility of adding more support for double-wardens in twinception again
not in the deep roads expedition---that definitely won't work, and if I weren't planning to use the debug to swap them both to wardens partway through juniper's playthrough I wouldn't even consider it but... it's only three cutscenes, right? demands of the qun, finding nathaniel, and the last straw, right...?

wait do people read first person stories and think they're the ones in the story???
Saw people talking about not liking first person, which is fair, but their reasoning was like "I would not do that" and I don't understand that mindset.
First person stories are still about a character. A character making their own decisions. First person isn't about you???? At least I thought it wasn't. What am I missing? I've always seen first person as just a more in-depth look into a character's mind and stricter POV. Not as a reader stand-in.

hello for those planning on voting for kamala harris. could y’all start emailing or calling her specifically to pressure her to stop the genocide. even if you’re a decided voter, mention you are undecided and that this is the issue you would flip on. here I’ll leave a link where you can email

QUICK REMINDER
In the US: threatening government officials is a felony under federal law (the president in particular is protected under 18 U.S.C. § 871). Even memes.
be careful with your jokes if they spill over to active officials.

So apparently some people new to Tumblr think a repost and a reblog are the same thing, so when they see creators asking for people to not repost, they're thinking the creators are saying to not reblog 😭
Y'all, a repost is when you copy/download the work and create a new post using the work making it seem as if it's yours. A reblog is you using a site provided feature to share the creator's post directly from the creator so that it's still credited to them and they still get all of the traction/notes from the work.
Please, reblog fics/art/etc. that you enjoy! Reblogging is not reposting! Creatives need support too, and reblogging is a way to do that!

I'm always seeing this sentiment of "I have got to make my art weirder" or people begging for weirder art but here's the thing, Weird is not a brand. You cannot rack your brains trying to figure out the "Weird" formula. You don't get weird art by artificially forcing whatever you think is "weird." You get weird art (and I think "weird" is sometimes people groping for a way of saying non-corporatized) by figuring out what you like, deep down, even (especially) if you think it's embarrassing and wallowing in it like a pig

“Which fictional universe would you rather live in—“ Star Trek. Star Trek. There is a correct answer and it’s Star Trek. “I want to have cool adventures—“ Star Trek. “I want to live in high tech but ethical peace and comfort” Star Trek. “I want to be a psychic alien—“ Star Trek. “But I want to do magic—“ do you know how much weird magic shit happens in Star Trek. Also Star Trek has holodecks you can pretend to be in Lord of the Rings or Star Wars or whatever and then come home to your usually peaceful interstellar community. There are basically no downsides to living in the Star Trek universe if you take the assumption that you remain you, a human living on Earth. You can join Starfleet or you can stay home and enjoy fully automated luxury gay space communism. The answer is Star Trek.

even though its great that indie animation is on the rise, it honestly concerns me that so many people hear "indie animation" and expect 22 minute episodes with smooth animation and expensive/popular VAs.
It kind of reminds me of when Webtoons became popular and then all of a sudden its userbase expected fully colored comics with 50 panels to come out every week. And you couldn't take a break for more than two weeks or else they'd complain.
