Something that gets me every damn time is the comparison between how people flipped so far and so fast.
In fall of 2022, the Miami Boys Choir went massively viral, singing the song Yerushalayim. A song that is about the Jewish longing to return to our homeland!! People were spreading it everywhere, loving this song, and the choir, and expressing positivity.
There was some negativity but it was amazing to see. But obviously I should have been more wary. The same people who were excitedly posting Jewish children singing about returning to Jerusalem, a Zionist song, are now spewing virulent antisemitism all over the internet.
It’s not just limited to the internet though. It’s impacting Jews on the internet and in the real world, with violence against children, and the elderly, against people who are visibly Jewish or less outwardly apparent, against any Jew they see.
Videos of Jewish weddings are filled with anger at their daring to be happy. Pictures of hostages are torn down and people yell “resistance by any means”. People who I respected and loved post things from puppet organizations using our names to validate the erasure of the sexual violence on October 7th.
The excuses that are made by goyim make me numb. I don’t know if they are too uneducated to know the millennia of antisemitic vitriol that they’re reposting, or if they don’t care.
But I am angry.
