Innit startles a little at the sudden return of at least one of the Observers. Its surprise shifts into joy when the strange mannequin-like figure offers it the warmth and affection it never could get from others.

Its memories of being part of a whole are faded and smeared. Time, hatred, and despair have warped them into being both more and less than they had originally been.

There isn’t really a way to check if its version of those events are true, anyway. Daz isn’t exactly willing to sit and have a pleasant chat– not that Innit would accept that sort of invitation, anyway. Just the idea of playing nice with the selfish, cruel monster that created and then abandoned it twice over is absurd– especially when Innit is winning.

People are puzzles to be solved, conversations are games to be won, and Innit has had a long, long time to observe a skilled player’s mind at work.

But the seething resentment that is the closest thing it has to blood isn’t what its focused on right now. No; now is the time to indulge in the joy of someone– someones?-- who care about it.

It purrs contentedly, snuggling into the figure’s affection.

Its lightly furred ears perk up at the sound of a different voice. When it opens its eyes, it can see a silvery, glowing rat. When it holds out a clawed hand, the rodent hops into it.

While its not exactly thrilled to have its saviors ask it to cooperate with Daz, it has to admit that this is one of the more tolerable ways it might go. The idea of manipulating Daz like he manipulates others is undeniably appealing. And, well, if the Observers want it to happen…its not really going to argue against that sort of request.

“Sure,” it agrees, though the fluffy tip of its tail flicks in irritation at the idea of communicating with Daz.

As far as Innit is concerned, any sort of potential threat towards those in Sanctuary is an ally. Its ultimate goal remains the same; destroy everything Daz ever gave half a shit about, mock him over the ruins, and then finally be granted the peace it so desperately longs for.

…Though, it would feel guilty about leaving its new friend behind. A soft chirr escapes as it stops to consider how much its death would hurt them.

Is destroying Daz and having peace worth abandoning someone who knows the same agony it wants to be freed from?

But…the only other path it can fathom is if it were somehow able to be freed from the prison of Daz’s mind. If it were able to live on while that traitorous scum died, then that would be the sweetest revenge.

Maybe it can curry enough favor with the Observers to become one of them. Or even the Scribe themselves– they were the ones who freed it in the first place, after all.

If the choices are between remaining with Daz, dying, or turning into an Observer…only one of those would leave it alive and be something it could stomach.

Kalim - wishing for everyone to be happy. to dance and sing and forget about all the troubles. throwing parties and feasts to cheer them up (and granting them relief when needed). although it doesn't always end well and his attempts can end up 'useless', like how oasis maker is 'useless' when people already have easy access to water. but at other points desperately needed.

Rollo - literally gets set on fire like his brother..?? that thing forever haunting him that its such a big part of him at this point (hating magic and hating what happened.) and him hating himself making himself see him as part of the reason why his brother died, and therefore making him literally the thing that killed him sort of?

A quick bare bones guide on how to draw Charles. I could go into more depth with this, but it's late and I'm tired and my wrist was starting to hurt. I thought I would just show the basic forms and shapes in his face.

Important things to keep in mind: - He has a diamond shaped face, so his cheekbones are going to be prominent - He has hooded eyes, and his eyebrows are naturally arched like that. The space between his eye and eyebrow sort of makes a long bean shape which I showed in a few of these outlines. -There's a slight downwards curve to his nose. It's not straight. -He has a soft jawline! -When colorpicking for his skintone, try to pick a neutral midtone to start. I swatched a few colors to go along with each reference picture: a highlight, a midtone, and a shadow color. I also labeled what kind of lighting is in each photo to give an idea how lighting would affect the way he appears. Don't. Don't color pick from the promo art to color him. I mean I guess unless you're trying to imitate the promo art then go nuts. - When in doubt, use reference! Don't be afraid to pull him up on google images or pinterest or your favorite screencap blog (I recommend @/kaphzzz for their screenshots. They have such wonderful ones of Charles!) And don't be afraid to trace while practicing to get familiar with the shapes in his face! - To elaborate more on the face tone thing, different parts of the face have different undertones. The forehead is generally more yellow or neutral, the nose and cheeks are typically more red as that's where the blood is closer to the skin, and the beard area is usually cooler toned. I think it's easiest to see this in the bottom middle reference as that was a high quality render made for the official guidebook. -Uhhh have fun and be yourself I guess.

How do you manage to stay in a fandom for so long? I'm always mario jumping from fandom to fandom every 3-6 months

Oh, so many reasons. I think I've answered this before but in a much more concise way so idk what happened here when I tried to answer again from scratch but uhhh I wrote a lot lol?? Long ramble time. 😂

I found this fandom at a point in my life when I really emotionally needed it, so I got really attached to it. I stayed because of the friends I've made in it and because of the OCs I got invested in, both mine and other people's, and every so often something invigorated my interest like a new roleplay I got to join or new concept art that got discovered.

I'm also just a really dedicated person (for better or worse) and I still have ideas that I want to get out there creatively. I don't get a lot of free time, and I rarely have energy for hobbies after work so my time passes slowly in the sense that I may still be in the middle of appreciating a thing, meanwhile everyone else has already sped through and processed it and moved on.

So I've gotta be really careful about choosing what to spend my limited time and energy on. It sometimes takes me a whole month to draw a piece of art that I'm proud of. It would be a huge waste of my time to spend so much energy on a fandom that after 3 months I think I might not care about anymore.

And like, if it's going to take me a month to draw 1 thing, what am I going to choose? Fanart of a character from a show that I just finished that I might possibly move on from in 3 months? Or art of my darling Audrey OC that I've been developing for years and whom I know will always bring me joy for the rest of my life? It's not a hard choice! Like I'm sure it's obvious by now but I really love my oc. It's gotten to the point that I look for her in every media I consume. I like characters because they remind me of her, and I like plots because they remind me of her. When I watch a movie and end up loving it, I'm not going to be drawing fanart for that movie, I'm more likely going to be drawing Audrey Grace in some way that's consciously or subconsciously inspired by that movie. I'm sure other people with beloved ocs can relate to that, too.

Back to media consumption: I'm constantly watching new things, shows, movies, letsplays, and I'm able to love them just fine, but I never participate in their fandoms (unless you count reblogging fanart as participation. I personally don't). I just don't feel motivated to and I feel like it's unnecessary. I shouldn't need to prove anything. You can appreciate media without engaging in fandom. In fact, I encourage it, because a lot of what I see in fandoms these days is just stressful, at least to me. And I don't want that stress. I'm much happier as a person when I don't have to read other people's opinions, discourse and drama over some show's themes or ships or whatever. I can just quietly revel in my own enjoyment of the show without being tainted by anything else, and my love for it is not any less valid than the person who's livetweeting their loud emotions while watching the same show and putting out fanart 1 hour after every episode. Bless them, though.

And I guess that's mostly what I do these days with the Onceler fandom, too. Appreciating it more quietly these days, I mean. It's just that...I have a fandom related oc so I draw her. And I have friends here so we do stuff together and we reference fandom inside jokes no matter what activity we're doing. If I encounter art that deeply moves me personally, I reblog it, just like I reblog art for other media on my sideblog. When anyone has a fandom history related question, I'm eager to answer because I don't want the past to be misrepresented or misunderstood. And also, since it's been over a decade, this fandom has long ago become my daily normal. I can do whatever I like but I can't really "leave" this fandom unless I delete all my social media and cut off all my online friends. And delete my memories of the past 12 years of my life as well. Just become a completely different person.

So I guess I can reverse the sentiment: I can't relate to people who hop fandoms every 3 to 6 months. 😭 All the power to you, but that's just not the way I happen to live my life, nor the way I engage with the media I consume! The Once-ler fandom was the one exception. It was special.

But who knows, anything can happen in the future. I'm not so proud that I'm purposely blocking myself from looking at other fandoms or anything. I just go with the flow! Right now I'm slowly making my way through jjba, an omori playthrough, a Plague Tale playthrough, and urusei yatsura season 2 (the new anime). Probably nothing will come out of any it except for a bunch of Audrey inspos, but again, who knows. XD I'm also going to an idkhow concert soon, and I've bought merch from their store already. Does that count as participating in a fandom? Maybe not. But now that I think of it, even if I "join" another fandom, it doesn't necessarily mean I'd leave the onceler fandom either, so maybe it wouldn't matter haha.

yeah the thing is my gender feelings are also very weird. it's like.... I do not know if I experience dysphoria or what even is going on there but the other day I mentioned I wanted to cut my hair even shorter to someone and they went "oh yeah, like a pixie cut!" and I immediately started crying because in my brain the thought process went pixie cut = feminine term for short hair = I will never make this person Understand or be seen as properly my gender (which is rich because??? I don't understand it either) so we were both just standing there upset and confused. and the thing!!!! the thing about that is THAT I WAS REALLY REALLY SURE I WAS A CIS WOMAN!!! and I think I still kind of am??? because I'm definitely not a man and "nonbinary" doesn't quite cut it either And I don't want to transition but also every time I get called a girl or a woman or a daughter I'm internally like "ok... but unless?" but any pronouns besides she/her feel wrong to me. ok that's a lie I could use multiple sets of pronouns but it's integral that she is one of them.

and the thing is that if I did attempt to transition it would feel weird to me because I don't want to change my body (besides tossing the boobs) but I'd like it if I was seen as masculine more and I know that with how i currently present that is never going to happen. and I like my way of presenting too but I don't like how it's read by other people. but if I was read as just a man that would be weird too. It's like... I'm never going to be able to get someone to see me as my correct gender BECAUSE I DO NOT KNOW MY GENDER. ok sorry I'm done. and I know that cis people question their gender too but I don't think I'm cis anymore and. well. do I sound insane

If I was you I’d ask why nonbinary doesn’t cut it. What do you think nonbinary is? Do you think it’s a single identity? Bi-gender and agender can both be nonbinary and are basically opposites. Some people identify as nonbinary women because they’re women who fall outside normative ways of gender expression (there are many other reasons you could consider yourself a nonbinary woman too of course, like being multi gender, but that’s an example) So I wouldn’t throw out nonbinary so fast.

More to the point though I think labels aren’t as important as doing whatever you want forever. Make your body how you want it and the rest can follow. You can be and identify as a cis woman while having top surgery (I think I just reblogged a comic about that) and short hair and a masculine vibe. You could be butch. You could be feminine the way men are or masculine the way women are.

However there’s a lot of stuff here I can’t help you with. Like, I can’t tell if you’re dismissing some of the options here out of genuine disinterest or an internalized fear that you’re “not allowed” or “not supposed” to do or be certain a way

I can’t tell if you’d feel “weird” being read as a man because you don’t have any interest in that or because you’re not sure if it’s ok to be a woman who looks like that. Which is why i can’t really advise you over anon lol. This is like a two hour conversation type thing

How were you introduced to TOA? I don't really remember, but all I know is that I lurked around the masterlist around the time of L&K but didn't pluck up the courage to join until nearly a year later when I saw there was a Reyson (shoutout to birdie!)

Do you have any pets? Nope! Moved around too much as a kid and current living situation doesn't support having one. Closest I got was sharing an apartment with my roommate's floofy cat for two years in college; his name's Chester and he was super adorable. I'd like to have a dog someday though!

these are whiptails, they're funky goobers i made for the worldbuilding project i haven't done anything with in. so long. they were made a while ago, which you can definitely see in their designs (nightmare variant, the emphasis on blood, etc. etc.), though i've tweaked them more since then so y'know. i still think they're neat

uhhh basic facts, they're full of 'blood' (who knows what it really is), no bones or organs (except for the last one which has growths resembling bones for an in-lore unknown reason), and they communicate with their feelers and by emitting different scents depending on the situation. when they die, they give off no scent at all, unless the body is damaged, in which case they smell like their blood

^ common variant (represented here by catch), these are essentially the 'everything else' category. their names function the same way. they are where the 'whiptail' name comes from. common variant ocs include: catch (she/they), sandstone (it/they), rook (mirror pronouns), rail (he/she), vervain (they/them), rose (he/xe/thicket), thrift (click/clicks/clickself)

^ aquatic variant (represented here by blue), these guys live in bodies of water, though some can go on land as well. their names can come from anything aquatic or amphibious, as well concepts related to these things. aquatic variant ocs include: blue (she/her), newt (they/them), pale (vey/vem), pike (xe/thon), pochard (hy/hymn), aythya (mist/fog/smoke/soot), cormorant (color pronouns), golden (she/em), bream (he/it), frost (it/its), swan (it/they),

^ venomous variant (represented here by hornet), can be found pretty much anywhere (though finding them underwater or in cold environments is fairly rare). surprisingly, tend to be much bigger than most of the other variants. names can come from things that are venomous, sting, commonly associated with venom, spicy, or concepts related to venom. venomous variant ocs include: hornet (he/him + ze/mer), paprika (cy/cyr)

^ poisonous variant (represented here by slug), the smallest of all the variants. tend to be very colorful and prefer more humid environments with plenty of hiding places. named after things that are poisonous, associated with poison, or concepts related to poison in some way. poisonous variant ocs include: slug (she/he/they)

^ dream variant (represented here by laburnum), vary wildly in size, very rare but can be found anywhere. named after things associated with dreams, mythological figures/things related to mythology, and certain plants and animals (ex. doves, crabs, flowers, bright plants, etc.) dream variant ocs include: laburnum (zhe/it)

^ nightmare variant (represented here by nyx), the largest/tallest of all the variants. tend to prefer dark, misty, or heavily forested environments. fairly rare, though its certainly not due to being easy prey. no one entirely knows how their life cycle works- or if they even have one. they're the oldest variant, so for all anyone knows, the ones around today are the same as the first ones to come into being. look spooky but tend to actually be very sweet. names come from anything with a generally negative association (bugs, rats, certain birds, darkness, nighttime, cobwebs, etc. etc.) nightmare variant ocs include: nyx (it/its)

Fazbear Frights/Tales Recommended Reading (and how to learn the book-exclusive lore without blowing your budget)

I’m really just doing this because that Into The Pit game’s coming out next month. Wouldn’t be surprised if this implodes because of that.

Presented with no further comment, here’s how to get caught up with FNAF lore and not be whacked in the head by a rubber mallet.. Written by someone who also is going off of synopses atm.

Please note that this will not include the new story coming out in that one Tales collection on July 9th next week (as of writing this). I’ll reblog with a “Read” or “Skip” about it.

Fazbear Frights

Key note: I personally recommend ignoring any speculation in the wiki pages I link and just read the synopsis. That way, your head won’t be spinning from lack of context and/or potential left-field guesses.

All story numbers will be colored and/in bold to either foreshadow something in the story, or just go off of story vibes. It also helps me not mess up linking all of these stories. All stories are pretty much numbered and not named for personal convenience.

All of the Sititchwraith stories. (Overall Synopsis here, audiobook with commentary reading here). These will pretty much form the basis of which to skip and which to read until further notice, since these reference a few of the stories below.

All of the Into The Pit/Book 1 stories (Especially Stories #1 and #2, #3 is just to give context for a scene in one of the Stitchwraith stories)

Only Stories #1 and #3 from Fetch/Book 2. Story #2 might be interesting to you, but it isn’t connected to anything else.

Story #1 from 1:35 AM/Book 3. Story #3’s ending is interesting, but Story #2 feels like Goosebumps-type filler IMO.

All of the stories from Step Closer/Book 4. I was going to disregard Story #3, but uhhh… That one might actually be the most important. I dunno, you decide. All I know is Stories #1 and #2 are connected to the epilogues in some way.

Only Story #3 from Bunny Call/Book 5. Story #1 is engaging and Story #2 is infamous, but only Story #3 feels important.

All of the stories from Blackbird/Book 6. Story #1 provides context for a moment in the epilogues, Story #2 provides context for a character in the epilogues, and Story #3 may also be in the same camp as Story #1.

Surprisingly, none of the stories in The Cliffs/Book 7. Story #1 is heartwrenching, Story #2 is more Goosebumps-like but the horror lines up with FNAF, and Story #3 started a pretty bonkers FNAF meme.. Yet no real lore until further proven. Huh.

Once again, none of the stories in Gumdrop Angel/Book 8. It’s more Goosebumps-like fare in Stories #1 and #2, then an interesting take on one of the FNAF games’ tales in Story #3… So maybe just Story #3, then.

..I am questioning the latter books and their apparent need for filler. The Puppet Carver/Book 9 has three more Goosebumps-type storylines. Story #1’s ending puzzles many, while Stories #2 and #3 are nightmare-inducing even for FNAF. No joke.

Friendly Face/Book #10: Skip unless you want three Goosebumps-but-scarier stories, two possible Mimic foreshadowings in Stories #1 and #3, and a gruesome Story #2 that inspired a joke song from Dawko.

Thankfully, Prankster/Book 11 arguably might have something with Story #1.. Stories #2 and #3, however, are pretty much the same thing we’ve been seeing since Book 7. At least it all ends at the last epilogue..

…Wait. Does Felix the Shark count, even though it’s a bunch of stories that didn’t make the cut? Regardless: Stories #1 and #2 are decent/have interesting plot points, but Story #3 steals the show.

Once you’ve jotted your notes down, come back for Tales of The Pizzaplex. I promise their stories will be both quicker and better written overall.

Lally’s Game, Under Construction, H.A.P.P.S, Drowning, Nexie, and The Monty Within (These mention the Pizzaplex, but the mall’s configuration seems different. Nonetheless, it is most likely that these happened and the mall just reopened with the familar new layout.)

Any other stories not listed are either tied to Goosebumps-type events or just didn’t make the cut. Feel free to read these as their own stories, as they actually can get quite gripping.

Or.. y’know.. Maybe just ignore all of this and go to your library. Pick up that huge collection for both (if your library has them/if you even have a library) and go read at your own pace. Maybe that’ll help you avoid the rubber mallet most of all. Just remember to take your notes as you go and bring the books back on time.

It sure would be faster than having to catalogue all this, lemme tell you.

Sometimes you have to say things out loud which should be perfectly obvious, but:

Nothing I say is ever a commandment, incitement, or request to go bother someone else unless I specifically say 'hey, you should go bother this person,' like when I say 'you should go bother this elected official about this specific topic.' I don't believe in sending people to harass other private individuals, and as long as I've been on this site, I've said that over and over again. I am expressly against harassment of all kinds, and it's not okay to go bother people just because I am arguing with them or have said 'hey don't be a twerp' to them. This is doubly not-okay when you're not part of the community that's arguing or discussing.

And also, I am not responsible for what other people do, and it's really not okay to try to hold me responsible for what other people do unless, you know, I told them to do it. Which I didn't. So let's be very clear: I don't want people to go bother others, and if I find out someone who follows me has gone to harass others based on my stated opinions, they will not follow me or associate with me anymore.

It is always in your power to block someone, including me, and I'm okay with that. What's weird is when you go on rants about how someone (me) should be 'rolled up in a carpet and thrown off a bridge' or that 'every note is a punch in vaspider's antisemitic(1) head' (yeah, those are both real things a person said, recently!) and then tag it with my name so that it comes up when people search for me. It's especially weird if you do that while complaining about harassment. Like, you get that you're a hypocrite, right?

So what I've done is what I recommend for others to do: I blocked the person responsible, I reported the posts for harassment, which they are, and I added their username to my filter list so that I won't forget who they are (which I will, because they are not important to me at all and I will forget they exist by tomorrow) and reblog their posts accidentally in the future. This is the thing that this person could also do, rather than being weird.

Also, if you want me to stop following you, just... block me. It's fucking fine. Don't be weird about it, don't send me a message about it, I don't actually care. If you feel weird about leaving me blocked, then block me and unblock me. It'll force me to unfollow all of your blogs. If a random chronic illness blog I follow or whatever disappears from my dash, I probably won't even notice. I don't know how to say this without sounding mean, but like, there are a lot of people on Tumblr, and I genuinely do not care enough about the random blogs I follow who are not my actual friends to get upset if suddenly one of them disappears and I find out I'm blocked. I'll assume that you decided you didn't want me following you, and I'll move on with my life and probably forget you ever existed. Please curate your internet existence and do not make people's lives your fucking problem. If someone bothers you, block them. For fuck's sake, y'all.
