I don't think I really have any really solid headcanons and also canon keeps validating me left and right (FLUFFY DOMESTIC DIAFAM IS REAL). mostly just kind of...impressions and general thoughts, if that makes sense! lately though I've been kind of obsessed with thinking about Lilia's hair, and specifically when/why he ended up cutting it. (l-look, we're bouncing around the timeline and I gotta make decisions about these things when I draw, it's relevant) (I mean I would probably be weirdly fixated on this anyway, but.)
I think I've settled on the idea that he kept it long until he went to NRC, partly because 1) I like drawing The Ponytail, and 2) I think he thought of NRC as a chance to reinvent himself a bit! he gets to go and be a wacky carefree teenager for a few years and have fun! (officially he's there to keep an eye on Son #1, but how much trouble could he get into, really.) so he gave himself a Cool Teen Haircut to go with his fresh new Cool Teen Persona!
also maybe he had some reflection on his hair's troubled past with three kids...
...and had to weigh his vanity versus the fact that he was going off to be around hundreds of kids on a daily basis, and. the choice suddenly seemed obvious.

it is always under appreciated how secretive phoenix is like he’s very breezy and hard to nail down. i feel like it’s bc he’s often seen in the context of his relationship with edgeworth but like. edgeworth isn’t cagey. if anything he’s somewhat willing to share a moderate level of personal details if he’s able to, he’s just awkward and very formal and task oriented. phoenix is snarky and impersonal but everyone allows it cause he gets deemed as harmless and goofy. kind of a slay

i know murder of sonic isnt really meant to be taken seriously or treated as canon but i do think its funny that shadow only went to sonics birthday party in generations because rouge made him but seemingly willingly went to amys birthday party in murder of sonic and even got her a gift and everything

huh. the smallest silliest things really do pull me from my own head
#i was rounding hour 3 of a morning breakdown after feeling small and insignificant in the world#and then my brother texted me directly asking if I'd come to hang out for his birthday this weekend (i already was gonna cause my sister tld#me ab it) and that simple thing Instantly made me feel better 🥺#i just want to be wanted nonsexually/for company lol#and i want to be Explicitly wanted cause i get so many open invites to things but rarely do i get “can We hang out” unless im prompting#(which I don't mind or even resent - i do like that im able to ask for the time and company i need now and i enjoy now that i can plan#hangouts and social calls and stuff now but since it also falls on my shoulders a Lot to plan (and last night pointed that out to me when i#asked my friend if we could try seeing each other this summer and he immediately was like yes i will plan the activity if u come here)#i sometimes get sad and small and weepy and in my head about it sometimes and it meshes with the way I struggle really hard to Make Friends#or even Be In Community Actively bc both require a level of social energy/ability im not very good at in reality bc even tho i can Talk i#really struggle socially. irl i am nearly completely isolated outside of work. i am working on these things too just takes time)#but yeah. that really really helped. im gonna go exercise now so the yuck feeling from sweaty crying becomes sweaty exercise glow bye bye< 3#bunny rambles

My relationship with my mom has come such a long way in the past few years only to come crashing down the second I try to do something nice for my dad and/or acknowledge that she is not the main character of the universe ://
#i tried to ask her if she wanted to get sushi with us for fathers day (48 hours away) and she said 'yeah unless something happens'#and i was like 'okay well the website says they wont seat us unless we're a full party' and she was like 'maybe ill make it maybe i wont'#then hung up on me#THEN texted me like 'just put me down for a no.. i cant decide this on less than a moments notice and you clearly dont want me there anyway#and 'thats the answer you wanted right? 😘'#fucking GOD FORBID i try to do something nice for my dad on FATHERS DAY after not being able to see him for several months#bc hes been flying to and from IL every couple of weeks to care for his dying father#and the saddest part is that for mothers day or her birthday or anything like that my dad is always the person bringing it up first#to my sister and me to make sure we can all plan something that will make her feel special and appreciated#and meanwhile my mom acts like a fucking toddler the second the attention is not on her for 2 seconds#'im tired and so busy and you gave me no time to decide' i literally would have given you a few hours to think about it if youd communicate#instead you passive aggressively imply i hate you because im doing something nice for someone else#ALSO you are not the only person on the goddamned planet that is busy and overwhelmed right now like are you KIDDING#i want to cry#personal

Me, trying to come up with a plot that accurately reflects the complexity and dynamics that are Annabeth's and her father's relationship with one another, as well as her feelings towards his new family, because while there is love there, how much necessarily? Not enough, to be assumed, because Annabeth ran away when she was seven and, with Luke's description of her in the books at the time he and Thalia found her, she wasn't in the best condition. Reading about how monsters tracking on to her scent and made her a target was the cause for many fights between her and parents, all of which was before she ran away and reads, personally to me, as a pair of adults blaming their young child, but these are also supposedly the same parents who, when discovering that she was in danger, actively wished for her well-being and, in her father's case, put themselves in harms way to go rescue her alongside her more than equipped friends, something, something, I could go on!
#percy jackson#pjo#annabeth chase#like something isn't adding up a lot of times with the way in which rick depicts this specific relationship#especially in ttc! bc why were shown these two people who annabeth was not vibing with being the complete opposite of what she described?#even having percy go “are these the same people?” UNLESS!#there's more to the story than meets the eye!#like#personally speaking since there's little to go on---i do think that annabeth's father (and stepmother) loved her but not in the best way#and even from an outsiders perspective it wouldn't read that way once you get to know them personally#like frederick gives the type of vibe in which he would definitely go to his twins soccer games but wouldn't do more than maybe call or send#a card on annabeth's birthday later on in the series (expecting her to kind of just show up at the house to celebrate if they even get there#especially after the wars!#should be noted that i haven't read hoo in a minute and don't remember much about the other riordanverse books so i may be missing info!#but don't come for me bc im trying at least i swear#this was more so meant to be a rant so take with a grain of salt if you don't agree
