PLEASE HELP ME FIND THIS GAME!
There is this game that has been HAUNTING me the past while and I can't seem to find a name for. I remember it VERY vividly, it was one of those infinite runner mobile games, except it had a very unique style to it which I'll explain better in a minute. I remember finding it by searching up "cat games" on the appstore sometime roughly 2015 to 2016 and scrolling down a VERY long way. I can remember basically everything about it but the name and who made it.
First, the intro cutscene, which is what I remember the best;
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It went something like this (VERY rough sketch, this was done quickly.) I remember the game was in a rather crude, somewhat ugly and old looking 3D style (ya'know, like most older mobile games) but all the models as far as I know were unique and not unity assets.
The title screen opens with the player character (black cat who MIGHT'VE had some white on him, but I'm not 100% sure) eating the dog's food right in front of it as it tugs on it's leash. The cat would taunt it by doing something mean, I think moving the food close to it before moving it away or something like that, can't remember fully, then taking it and eating it by throwing it into the air and catching it.
As soon as the player presses play, the dog suddenly stops tugging on it's leash as it notices it's broken, then looks back at the cat, who promptly freezes just as it's about to take a bite of the dog's food. It then jumps into the air, it's eyes popping out of it's head like a cartoon character, and the gameplay begins as it gets chased.
The camera zooms out, and the cat quickly outruns the dog. You want the dog to stay off screen and as far away from you as possible, because on higher difficulties it'll randomly speed up from time to time or rubberband up to you a little. The dog getting close is warned to the player by the sound of barking, and when it's about to rubberband up to you, there's an alert for the dog coming- I remember this scaring the shit out of me as a kid for some reason so I only played with the dog off most of the time (AKA, easy mode.)
Now for the cool part of the game and why I remember it so fondly; how exactly it worked
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There was only one button in the game once the gameplay started, and that was to jump, everything else was controlled by the player tilting their device. Tilting to the right would speed up the cat, and tilting to the left would slow them down. Typically, you want to go as fast as possible, but going faster puts you at risk of running into stuff, which gives you an instant game over as it trips the cat. Sometimes, there'd be windows to jump through inside the house, some of them leading outside onto rooftops where you had to jump over gaps.
What made this game so unique though was how the house you were running though would twist around, the ground going in all sorts of directions, sometimes even upside down. To accommodate for this, the player would have to tilt their device to make it so the cat is still facing upwards, all while making sure they're going fast enough to not get caught. I remember this could get rather difficult sometimes, as the ground could suddenly go in a full loop or bend downwards, causing the cat to rapidly speed up and run into something. There was also an optional "pro" mode where the player could also tilt their device back and forth, causing the cat to move between the foreground and background and risk bumping into things there as well, making it so you had to be extra careful how you titled the device.
I remember loving this game as a kid, and I only deleted it to make room for some other game I really wanted at the time. I can't look through my ipad's history to see what this game is either, because my ipad won't turn on anymore, and I don't even remember what my apple account was- I haven't used anything apple in years. I've been trying to figure out what this game was for years now on and off, but with no luck. Looking up "cat runner" or anything like it only provides subway surfers ripoffs or other old cat related games games (which, ironically, a lot of I played as a kid. Love you cat simulator 2015 <3) and trying to describe the game to google only provides somehow even more unrelated stuff.
I remember this game being rather obscure, so literally any info helps- even if it's just someone else having played this game as a kid because sometimes I swear to god I dreamt this entire thing somehow.

and also "putting everyone in a simulation will make it all ok 👍" and also "let's park next to this random system's sun" and also "we can't live on our own planet because of our own folly" and so on
#and also an inablity to accept the inevitable...etc etc#i thought of some more but then i forgot them 😋#originally wanted to post this with other sillies but then i was like. well i dont wanna spoil anyone on either a these games so erm. ya#nine sols#outer wilds#nine sols spoilers#outer wilds spoilers#outer wilds echoes of the eye#echoes of the eye spoilers#echoes of the eye#if youve played nine sols could i recommend outer wilds: a space exploration game where u play as a cute and short lookin alien whos#unraveling the mysteries of their solar system although there isnt any combat and although there are horrors theyre not like. well.#nobodies bein harvested thats for sure. and its very much about the story#and if youve played outer wilds uhh. i. dont really know if i can recommend nine sols even though i Can summarize it as a game where u do#explore and there is space and u Are an alien (from a humans pov) and you Are cute and short (from a humans pov)(until u learn the horrors)#and there Are horrors but erm. well. shrug emote. it Is a combat game thats the primary reason#the horrors are less the horrors of space and how easy it is for you to die and the idea of said causes of death and also the unknown. and#more the sins of some REALLY fucked up cats. ethically dubious science sins. actual guts bein spilled. i mean i aint actin like the warning#of the game id recommend lookin those up. sure is a game tho (i cried)(just like w outer wilds)#feels like i could recommend a non combat game to a combat game player easier than the other way round#the theoretical combat game player would be capable of playing a non combat game right#feels harder to imagine the other way around. then again i Did find outer wilds mechanically difficult at times in a way that combat games#can challenge me. so. shrug#all that matters is if u enjoyed the dialogue n interactions in nine sols...if u didnt vibe w that then im unsure how much outer wilds woul#vibe for you. etc etc#idk why i started typing up a whole ass recommendation in the tags. anyway have at ye#idk who'd read this far but i salute you FSDHLFSDHKSFDH

Friday Night Shots - Polyomino Games
Friday Night Shots - Polyomino Games @LookoutSpiele @AdamsAppleGames @CityofGamesHQ
It’s Friday again! Weekends are awesome, aren’t they? But I’m pleased that you spend your Friday night (or Saturday morning, maybe?) hanging out with me, having a drink or two (we do have water or pop!) and just commiserating about board games. We’ll just leave the Loverboy on the jukebox, though I will turn it down so we can actually hear. It’s not like there are any other crowd noises in…

PINK HAIRED SWEETHEART! pt.2
Tumblr media
𝜗𝜚 ࣪˖ ִ𐙚 some hc’s about thanos x fem reader! after the squid game <3
𝜗𝜚 ࣪˖ ִ𐙚 ; since everyone wanted part two with thanos and pink haired reader, here you go!
Tumblr media
𝜗𝜚 ࣪˖ ִ𐙚 what you didn’t expect was, during the squid game, thanos went in length to take a pen from those pink soldiers, just so he can write your number on his hand, he promised you two will go to a pretty cafe—didn’t he?
𝜗𝜚 ࣪˖ ִ𐙚 but when you, him and like—four more people finally got out, with shit tons of money, your paths were separated—afterall they left every single one in different places. and you didn’t even know where he lives, you thought it was just his little joke.
𝜗𝜚 ࣪˖ ִ𐙚 you were chilling in your room, two days later-figuring out your plan, and then you got a call from an unknown number, you thought nothing of it—just picking up mindlessly
“hello?” you mumbled softly
“missed that annoying voice of yours, not gonna lie.” your eyes widened—it really was him, he wasn’t playing around.
“you jerk! you weren’t joking” you said with a giggle—and you couldn’t help but notice the way your heart did a flip at his laugh.
𝜗𝜚 ࣪˖ ִ𐙚 you two soon made plans that consisted of just chilling, you two found a cute cat cafe and he said he’d be waiting for you there tomorrow at 8 pm
𝜗𝜚 ࣪˖ ִ𐙚 you actually put some effort in looking pretty (you always are pretty!) but it was kind of strange when he saw you bloodied and messy.
𝜗𝜚 ࣪˖ ִ𐙚 when you entered the said cafe, you saw him there—cigarette in his mouth, your eyes got glassy for whatever reason as you sat across from him, his eys widening and his grin to his eyes.
“your hair is hard to miss, angel” he said, smirking and you rolled your eyes—mumbling a little ‘says you.’
“soo how you doing after all of..this.” you contemplated his question.
“i still don’t feel anything, it’ll take a few days for me to realize what the fuck happened.” you said, honestly.
“i mean…for a pretty little thing like you—you were fucking ruthless.”
𝜗𝜚 ࣪˖ ִ𐙚 you two talked and talked, and you couldn’t help but notice there was something different in his eyes rather than annoyance
“y’know, you should wear your hair in two braids more often, suits the pretty pink that’s going on.” he said, his eyes ranking over you shamelessly
“you think so?” you mumbled softly, looking up at him all shy and pretty
“yeah—yeah i think so, angel.” he mumbles, his tattoed hand softly tilting your chin up at him, his face getting dangerously close.

Jason Drake
Ok I have one for you that I think is hilarious to think about.
As always expect no cannon here.
It starts a month or two after Tim Drake, age 9, started to take pictures of Batman and Robin (Still Dick Grayson).  Tim very much wants a sibling, but has not gathered the courage to ask his parents.
He is out, taking pictures, thinking about how he wants a sibling as his path crosses Jason Todd (six months homeless). Tim takes this as a sign and, over the course of about three weeks, lures Jason home (treating him much like a feral cat). Once Jason is safely in Drake Manor, Tim semi- forcibly (Jason is not against it per say, but is a little confused) adopts him.
Tim’s hacking is good enough that he is able to get back dated adoption records, a news announcement, Two interviews with Jack and Janet Drake about adopting Jason (credited to a journalist who died a month later in a rogue attack) inserted into all the correct places, and got Jason enrolled in Gotham Academy with Tim (backdated the enrollment records too).
They live together in Drake manor for four months before Tim’s parents get back. Tim straight up gaslights them. Without even flinching “What do you mean you don’t remember Jason?” and “Of course Jason has been here for years, here’s the interview you did” and “Adopting him was such good optics for the company”
And it works (By the by, Mrs. Mac fully supports Tim’s slow abduction and adoption of Jason and is pleased to lie to the Drake parents about it).
Within two days Janet Drake is half convinced that Jack tricked her into adopting his illegitimate son.  They go to a gala and, due to elite Gothamite weirdness, no one is willing to admit they had never met the older Drake boy before, Jason playing along seamlessly.  By the time the Drakes leave again, Janet is congratulating herself on convincing Jack to take in his illegitimate child (who has impeccable grades, and apparently inherited her appreciation for literature) to accompany her son. Particularly since Jason was good enough to understand that Tim was the Drake industry heir.
Jack tends to hyper focus on archaeology and lives in a near constant state of ‘That sounds fake, but I don’t know enough to dispute it’. Loves his family though. Janet accidentally convinces him that Jason must be his, never mind that Janet was his highschool sweetheart and the only person he had ever had sex with.  He is not stupid, but is used to being around his genius wife and son and not understanding how they reach their correct conclusions. So just goes with it.
Both boys go out to watch/take pictures of/ stalk Batman and Robin.  A few years after Dick becomes Nightwing, Stephanie is adopted by Bruce and becomes Robin. Meanwhile two unknown vigilantes, BlueJay  and Ketu (named for the Hindu Winged Serpent that represent Karmic collections both good and bad) start to operate solely in Crime Alley and seem to make a game of evading the Bats and Birds.
Jason and Tim Drake take a particular interest in bettering Crime Alley, creating outreach programs and hiring for Drake industries and education programs with their parents' bemused backing (When Jason is 16 and Tim is 14, Tim discovers that several of the board members had been embezzling funds and prove it. The resulting shakeup still leaves Janet and Jack in charge on paper, but their instructions are ‘do whatever Jason and Tim say’)

CHAPTER 001 . . .
previous chapter two masterlist
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You often wondered about the first moment you fell in love. It happened so gradually that you couldn't quite recall the moment it finally clicked. The same thought followed you in the small hours of the night, on the long work days when your feet and back ached, and especially on the days when you missed his presence most.
It had been the summer of 2008 when you first met him. You were a bright eyed eleven year old, too innocent for the world. The sun had finally started shining after a long week of summer showers and so your sketch pads laid against the hot pavement, pencils scattered around you. Your bottom lip was jutted in concentration, hands flying across the paper, a brown pencil tucked between your fingers.
You paused as a shadow blocked the sunlight casting darkness across your drawing. You slowly glanced upward expecting your mother but instead a boy towered over you, eyes focused on the paper at your folded legs. You looked down and back at him again.
"That's pretty good" He said, finger pointed to the cat drawing you were currently sketching.
"Thanks" You replied, tone clipped. "Can you move? You're blocking the sunlight"
He shuffled to the side, the soles of his shoes scuffing against the pavement. He continued to hover over you for the next minute or two, eyes focused and head moving when your pencil flicked in a certain direction. You tried your best to remain cool, uncomfortable under the unknown boys stare.
You dropped the pencil, staring up at him. "What are you doing?" You questioned.
"Watching you" He replied matter of factly.
"It's creepy"
He shrugged. "As i've heard before"
His words softened your gaze a little. You knew what kids were like. Their mean words, their horrid actions. You had known it a little too well, it was the reason you chose to stay so close guarded. Even at eleven you knew how cruel the world could be.
You straightened your back, apologetically looking back at him. "I didn't mean that" You said sincerely.
"It's okay, i'm used to it" He laughed it off. "Do you live here?" The boy pointed to the house behind you, the one with the windows pulled open and the trot music lowly drifting out.
"Yeah" You admitted, a little embarrassed.
He scratched the back of his arm, a red mark, almost like a burn, stood out against his pale skin. "Cool, we're neighbours" He beamed.
Hyehwa Station was fairly empty for a Saturday night. The only sounds came from the racketing trains passing through and the footsteps of the commuters heading home after their 9 to 5's. You wrapped the coat tighter around yourself, attempting to savour the warmth and took a seat at the empty bench. The small screen read ten minutes until the next train to Itaewon. You let out a sigh stretching your legs. The long work hours were slowly killing you.
Too busy trying not to fall asleep you took no notice of the person now sat beside you, too tired to care, until he loudly cleared his throat. You looked to your right, a well dressed man smiled, a little menacing if you were honest, at you, briefcase at his side. You smiled awkwardly back, bowing your head slightly out of politeness.
"Would you like to play a game?" The man questioned, the same uncanny smile on his face.
The unsettling feeling of dread settled in your stomach. You moved closer to the edge of the bench, as far from him as you could. "Excuse me?" You replied.
His head titled to the side, facial expression frozen. "Would you like to play a game?" He repeated.
"No thank you" You muttered under your breath.
The stranger didn't reply instead he stood up, opening the briefcase on the now empty spot he had once been sitting. You watched him in confusion, you didn't have the time or energy to be dealing with the strange people that frequented the subway stations. You pinched the bridge between your eyebrows, sighing loudly.
"Would you like to play a game?" He asked again as if stuck on a record.
"Look-" You started, turning to face him but froze momentarily. "What?" You asked dumbfounded.
Enough money to pay the month's rent gleamed up at you. Stacks upon stacks of Korean won sat neatly in the briefcase. You glanced up at him and back at the bills again. You didn't hesitate before asking, "What's the game?"
The man's eyes sparkled, his smile somehow becoming wider. He reminded you of something from the horror comics you used to read as a child.
He reached into the case pulling out two envelopes, red and blue. "Ddakji" He said, gaze fixated on you. "I'm sure you know how to play"
You hadn't in years, you'd probably only played it once or twice but you nodded nonetheless.
His twinkling eyes crinkled with a smile, "Win and i'll give you 100,000 won. Lose and you'll receive a punishment." He paused. "Ready?"
Your brows furrowed. "Punishment?"
"Just a light slap"
At this point you didn't care, you would've taken any punishment if it meant winning the money in that briefcase and you were winning it.
"Okay" You agreed, standing up and shrugging the backpack from your shoulders, then placing it onto the bench.
Five rounds later and you were 100,000 won richer. Your left cheek throbbed, your eyes filled with tears. Your mouth tasted metallic from the cuts you'd bit into your cheeks in frustration. He was too good at this, his calmness told you he'd done it one too many times.
"Congratulations, Y/N-ssi" The man applauded, slowly clapping.
You stared back at him through hooded eyes, attempting to catch your breath. He stretched out a hand, fingers delicately picking up the stack of cash and passing it to you. You quickly snatched it, scared he would take it away from you and tucked it safely into the pocket of your coat.
He closed the case, turning to face you cheerfully. It seemed this man didn't know how to be upset. He reached into his pocket, taking out a small brown card and holding it out for you. You hesitated but took it from his grasp. Three symbols stared up you, a square, a triangle and a circle.
"Call the number on the back if you're interested in winning a lot more" He said, bowing in your direction and then taking off towards the exit.
You flipped it over and truth be told a number was there. Your mouth twisted, mind in battle with itself. If it was another game of ddakji or even worse, some other childhood game, you'd be screwed, you would be loosing whatever money was up for grabs in the first round. Your childhood was spent in comic books and colouring pencils, or in textbooks and homework, not on the playground with other kids playing games, you'd have no idea how too.
Your mind contemplated it over on the train ride home, occupying your running thoughts with something else for once. You entered the cold apartment at almost midnight, instantly throwing yourself face down onto the bed. Your backpack and coat still on. You let your body sink into the mattress, exhaling loudly. The apartment was silent, so quiet you could hear the refrigerator humming and the wind rattling against the windows.
These were the nights when your mind went to him. When it was quiet. When it was your heartbeat you could hear and not his underneath you. You flipped onto your back, backpack digging into you, moving uncomfortably you pulled it from your shoulders tossing it onto the floor. Your fingers found your pockets taking out the brown card, staring intently at the phone number. When had your life become such a shit show, when had accepting a beating from a stranger in the subway station for 100,000 become the normal. This wasn't how you planned it for yourself. You often wondered where it all went wrong.
