lots of fun facts about my sanders sides opposite au: (but i clearly have thought of some characters more than others)

logan :

introduced around the time of og accepting anxiety. represents bad decision making and willful ignorance

his first big moment was in can lying be good, which was a game show run by him instead of a play directed by janus. he didn't care whether thomas lied or not. he just wanted to give janus a morality crisis and joke around with virgil

only uses analog technology (ex: if someone asked to borrow his phone, he'd pull out a rotary phone, which works despite not being plugged in)

he's an amateur magician and loves showing off his tricks. virgil is the only one who is impressed by this

pulls things out of seemingly-too-small spaces like mary poppins with her bag, but only from other people's clothes (he will often steal janus's hat and pull something absurdly large out of it)

instead of rising up or appearing out of nowhere in the videos, in every video he walks out from a different random place (ex: from behind the tv like remus, from underneath the couch, down the stairs virgil sits on)

all of his clothes are glow in the dark

he doesn't know he needs glasses. he just assumes everyone has blurry vision

uses vocab cards like original logan but all of the words are made up and have never been said by anyone

regularly puts inflection on all the wrong parts of words and pronounces common words wrong (he doesn't pronounce long, uncommon words wrong, just short, easy to pronounce ones)

always talks just a little too loud and a little too fast

conspiracy theorist but only for theories that no one has ever heard of

wears a suit in every video except the court room one, where he wore the unicorn onesie the whole time

when thomas died his hair purple, his hair was inexplicably a completely different color. it would change every time someone mentioned it and he would never acknowledge that his hair looked different from everyone else's

censors people like og janus, but instead of covering their mouths, he just makes a loud distracting noise like og remus

the only side who doesn't think he's annoying is virgil, who finds him hilarious

virgil:

introduced in episode 1. represents pretty much all of thomas's positive emotions and none of the negative ones. also impulsive thoughts (impulsive not intrusive)

is technically a light side based on his role in the story but he's friends with everyone and "doesn't pick sides" (he sides with whoever is the most useful or interesting to him in the moment)

whenever conversation with the others bores him, he shamelessly ignores them, often scrolling on his phone in the middle of a video

extreme form of a hedonist. he chases dopamine like his life depends on it and is willing to do extremely reckless things if he thinks it will be a little fun

often causally tries to usurp the others and gain unilateral control over thomas's life ("wouldn't it be fun if you just ignored all of them and listened to me?")

is very open to trying new things for the experience, even if he can reasonably guess that he won't enjoy it. roman has no short supply of horrifying, painful ideas that they can try together

very good at insulting people in ways that really hurt. also very good at acting innocent and pretending he wasn't trying to be mean

some parts of the fandom in this universe would think he had a corruption arc when he became friends with the dark sides (there would definitely be fanfics where patton kidnapped and brainwashed him to be evil or smth) but he was just always like this.

always excited to help out the dark sides with their plans, being a bit of a double agent because thomas trusts and listens to him

he's an asshole who just wants to have fun and get what he wants all the time forever

roman:

introduced in this version of dwit, but he represents dark creativity and melancholy more so than intrusive thoughts

claims to hate disney but constantly quotes disney villains

frequently goes on long, depressing, overly dramatic speeches

collects dead things. he's trying to get a corpse of as many different animals, plants, etc. as possible

shameless masochist. (his shoes feel like he's walking on broken glass all the time and he loves it. he was inspired by the original little mermaid)

says all of the same types of things as og remus, but in a more monotone, gloomy way

often very aggressive, especially towards logan. he shows his love through violence and insults. he does the same with patton and virgil but less overtly because he can't get away with it as easily

came up with the name "the dark sides" just like he did in the og series, but this time it's an official term because it was created by one of them

always fights with patton over who's in charge. patton is usually the winner. either way, they don't like listening to each other so whoever wins would just boss around logan (they already both do)

janus:

introduced in episode 1. represents honesty and justice

the most gullible person ever. assumes everyone is always telling the truth and is completely blindsided when he's lied to

a strict kantian. he literally has never lied intentionally

associated with sheep instead of snakes (get it? like the bible?) it's much more subtle than the snake symbolism but gets more obvious as the show goes on and he gets an outfit change. (he wears a white wool turtleneck, has sheep/goat rectangular pupils, and has little horns under his hat, which is why he wears it)

his logo doesn't have a sheep on it, but his christmas sweaters do

tries to be nice to everyone since it's his job to be a good role model, but he would rather be honest than polite, so he can be pretty sassy at times

always feels guilty for something, even if he did nothing wrong

always a target of logan for his gullibility, and how he tries so hard to steer thomas in the right direction. in can lying be good, the game show logan hosted was rigged and completely nonsensical. this drove him crazy because...

he cares very much about things being fair

much more competent in the courtroom scenario than og patton was, too bad patton in this universe is also more strategic than og janus

remus:

introduced in episode 1. represents light creativity, hopes and dreams, and innocence

very squeamish and easily scared

if og remus is r rated creativity and og roman is pg creativity, this remus is g rated. never curses. very averse to violence

he's kind of the straight man of this group of gay men (similar to og logan). he's fed up with everyone, especially the dark sides

really hates the fact that virgil is friends with the dark sides, but he can't really do anything about it so he just sulks

you know in the we take requests video where they say the most out of character thing each character could say? and for remus they say like 'can you guys just chill? i'm trying to sing all of moby dick'? that's this remus's energy

writes poetry in his free time

his ideas can be pretty out there and weird like og remus, but just without the dark stuff

mostly pretty calm and subdued, but can get very hyper and intense when he's exited about an idea or a romantic opportunity for thomas

patton:

introduced around the time of svs

very strategic. plans meticulously before doing anything. (even little unimportant things) he was the mastermind behind pretty much everything logan and roman did before he was even introduced

says that he doesn't care about the other dark sides and that he only works with them out of necessity. he is actually very fond of and protective over them. he'll never admit it

always polite to everyone, even when he's arguing against them (this was very confusing to thomas who expected him to be even scarier than roman). it's just performative though. he's a hater, not a lover

enjoys making puns but always denies that they were intentional (like og logan but if he was lying about it being an accident)

has very dulled emotions. he enjoys spending time with roman, logan, and virgil because they're all so intense in different ways and allow him to feel something

he is especially attached to virgil, since virgil can't just make him feel any emotion, he can make him feel happy

doesn't emote with his eyes. or blink.

starts off as less threatening than roman, but later on, he gets some much scarier moments. roman has more of a constant, steady stream of scariness, while patton holds most of it in until it builds up to an explosion

has a #1 Dad mug, but it's been crossed out and has #2 Boss written under it (logan gave it to him)

roman frequently tries to kill him. he pretends not to notice it to frustrate him (ex: roman will poison his coffee and he'll drink the whole thing with no reaction)

Wade and Logan Full House AU

Summary: Jubilee’s new family calms her nerves before her first day at the Xavier Institute

A/N: Sorry if this is short I want the first part to introduce the characters and their dynamic.

Jubilee stares at herself in the mirror. She carefully arranges her pixie cut so all the pieces lay down perfectly.

She was nervous. She knew how prestigious the Xavier Institute was. She knew she would be surrounded by classmates with awesome powers and much more training and experience than her.

She had only been living with her new foster fathers, Wade and Logan, for a month. The first couple weeks were meant for her to adjust to things after being attacked by sentinels. She was saved by Logan and the rest of the team and brought quickly to the med center where she was helped by Jean Grey and Beast.

Jubilee heads downstairs sliding down the banister to get down fast. In the living room Rogue and Kitty are packing their lunches, Jubilee looks at the other girls slightly nervous. Rogue, is a cool girl with the power to steal others’ powers, energy, and even life with the slightest touch made; and she still manages to carry herself with a southern charm.

“Good Mornin’ Sugah,” Rogue says as Jubilee steps into the room still trying to shake off her nerves. “Look, my first day at the institute was nerve wrackin.’ It’ll be alright you have us hun.”

Jubilee smiles at Rogue, even though she was intimidating Jubilee knew Rogue was looking out for her always.

Suddenly, Wade and Logan come inside from their morning workouts, Laura with them. Because she has the similar powers and abilities to her father, Laura always trained with him during his workout sessions. Although she was the youngest of the four girls, she was the one who intimidated Jubilee the most. With her quick temper, razor sharp adamantium claws, and withering scowl, she was like a smaller scarier Logan in many ways.

Logan approaches Jubilee with the closest he can get to a smile and says “you got everythin’ you need?”

“yea I think so…” she says a bit nervously, what do you bring to mutant school anyway? Would there even be normal classes there? She hopes not, she’d rather be playing video games.

“Hey kid, It’s gonna be alright. It may seem a bit scary but the institute was made to help people like us okay?” Like us. For the first time Jubilee truly realizes she is around people that understand her. She takes a deep breath, Logan’s words reassure her and she knows that at least she won’t be casted out because of her mutant powers.

Wade hands Jubilee her lunch; he picked out a unicorn themed lunch bag for her. “Don’t tell Logan but I put mostly sweats in there,” Wade said.

“Thanks,” Jubilee lets a small smile slide past her nervous demeanor as she takes the bag. Jubilee finishes packing her school bag then lets out a small sigh as she waits at the door for her three foster sisters to finish getting ready for the day. Kitty, Rogue, and Laura walk to the front door at the same time, their differences apparent immediately.

Kitty is wearing jeans, a slightly cropped teal shirt, a high ponytail, and a pendant necklace, she exuded casual coolness.

Rogue, wearing a black crop top, black doc martins, and a black miniskirt looking all the southern goth she is.

Finally Laura walks over wearing her pink sunglasses, sweatpants, and her unicorn shirt (Wade is rubbing off on her).

Jubilee looks at the three girls shocked they were able to get along.

Jubilee is about to head out the door when she feels Logan’s rough hand softly grab her hand. “I’m walkin’ you girls to school, okay? Just for a little while you lot are still young and you're still healin’ from your attack.”

Jubilee nods; her former foster parents never gave her this much care in her entire life. “We are fine Logan, they got me protectin’ them,” Rogue says in her southern belle accent.

“Yeah if your worried about Jubilee she’s got us, plus nobody's ever gonna get past Laura,” Kitty chimes in. Jubilee smiles, she’s never had people she just met be this nice to her before.

Logan smiles “It seems like you girls are already ready to protect your new sister; but I’m gonna walk you lot to school anyway.”

Wade hands Logan his morning coffee, “I’m coming too,” he says smiling at his husband and the girls.

“Just maybe I’ll have a real family this time,” Jubilee thinks before taking Logan’s hand and waking to her first day at the Xavier Institute. Her new family by her side

Gambit, Prince of Thieves, wanted to steal something that could give him his one true desire: a way to love a Queen who was untouchable and deadly. He didn't have much to help him, save for Reader, his companion, who was good at building plans and solutions. Sadly, neither one of them had what they needed to steal from the evil wizard, Sinister. So Reader concocted a brilliant scheme, which called for...

A magical fairy!

It was safer than a unicorn, and was less likely to turn them into dinner as a dragon would. So off the two went, seeking the help of the Good Fairy, Morph. The two had to pass through the Woods of Woe, where lay a terrible monster... Yet the two discovered it was not a monster, but-

The poor man had gotten trapped in there by the evil wizard, and he too was looking for something that could grant his own desire. As thanks for helping him, he joined the two companions and off they went to find the Good Fairy, Morph. Ahead of them, once they exited the Woods of Woe, was a sickly person on the side of the road. The three decided to help them, picking them up and bringing then into their shelter in a den...

Yet the being soon changed, and before them was Morph the Good Fairy!

Morph told then they had passed their test, to see if they were good of heart, and discovered that they were true of heart, helpers in disguise. So Morph joined them, and off the four went, into the Kingdom of Fire...

In the ashes and lava and obsidian city, they discovered a blind man, alone and on his own... The four brought him with them, as he explained he was a former prince, who had been cursed by the wizard, and went to seek his love, who had been turned into a Phoenix! His name was Scott, Prince of the Ruby Plains, and soon the four became five...

The five of them soon left the fiery kingdom, entering the Valley of the Four Winds... There, they found a woman frozen in ice. With Scott's powers, Reader's plan, Logan's careful cutting, Gambit's careful hands, and Morph's good luck spell, they freed the woman... who turned out to be the Storm Goddess! She thanked them for freeing her, as she had been frozen by Sinister, who had stolen her friend, a kindly were-beast named Hank... She joined them, and now the five became six...

The six entered a dark, oily, sickly land, where the grass grew dead and the sky rained hail... Together, they discovered a tall, dark stone castle, which hid their friends, the magical artifact, and Sinister...

Reader made a plan to enter in secret, with Gambit and Wolverine going to find the stolen people, Morph and Stomr to distract Sinister, and Reader and Scott to find thr magical artifact. Thus they all split into two, entering the creaky, quiet castle...

Soon, Sinister came upon Morph and Storm, and tried to turn them against one another. But the two stood strong, using the power of snow and lightning as well as goodness and light to capture Sinister, freezing him in a prison of light, locked in snow, and sealed with lightning, that would keep Sinister locked away forever...

Gambit and Wolverine found the missing people, The Queen of Hearts, whom Gambit had fallen in love with, a young girl, who was Wolverine's daughter, Jubilation, and a Phoenix who soon turned into a woman with fiery hair, the Princess of the Fiery Kingdom... Together they broke out, freeing any others prisoners, such as Charles the Wise, Magneto the Mage, Mystique the Mystical, and Sabretooth the Smilodon-taur...

And Reader and Scott found the artifact, one that could grant them their heart's desires... It was a a mirror, one which showed them.what they wanted... and in the mirror, it showed them all of them, together, as a family...

So the heroes all came together, embraced, and left the dark castle, going back to their freed kingdoms, and with special orbs so they could summon each other and call when needed...

And they lived happily ever after...

One thing about Janus is, even as a pony, his disguises are far from perfect, even if in the details. I've tried to show it in the last art, but, comparing the disguise to someone would work better I'd think

Just like Pinkie, Patton's coat and mane changes when he gets sad Thought a good idea would be to change the sprinkles from his usual mane pattern to a dripping one, like tears

If this was a more proper mlp au, Logan would definitely be the stand in for Twilight. He's quite a powerful unicorn, and keeps his hair short enough not to show it. He doesn't like to stand out

Had real fun making all of these, kinda crazy how drawing ponies was the thing to get me out of art block

My Saw MLP AU Ship Headcanons

This post includes chainshipping, xrayshipping, and rustynailshipping headcanons/drabbles from my MLP AU(so far). I will be posting about the orhers soon as well.

Lawrence Gordon & Adam Stanheight(chainshipping):

Neither of them prefer to call each other by their first/full names after the bathroom trap(go figure), so they call each other by Stan(or Stanley) & Law.

Law idly wondering what Stan's wings smell like, before quickly shaking his head and thinking "who said that?? wtf--" while he's trying to focus on something else.

Stan thinking about the rumor he had heard when he was younger; that unicorn's horns are extra sensitive. He wouldn't know for sure, never having any real friends who happened to be unicorns.

Law recognizing & eventually accepting that he really does like Stan in a lot of ways, but also that the other might not necessarily like him Back in the same ways. They end up mostly just good friends/coworkers as Jigsaw Protégés.

Law can tell(one of his special/magic-sourced talents) when somepony else's feelings are true/false, but he would never use said 'trick' on his loved ones(Only occasionally w/patients, & only if it's a supply/demand/emergency situation. For personal reasons he doesn't feel it's right to use such a power on his family/friends, believes it's inherently selfish/wrong). He also has trouble finding out(and expressing) what his own true feelings often are, which makes this talent ironic for him in this AU.

Logan Nelson & Zep Hindle(xrayshipping):

Logan likes to study unconventional pets(not exotic, just strange choices), especially arachnids. He doesn't have the time to actually work with said animals(already has a time-consuming job), instead treats the study like a hobby/special interest. He doesn't like when other ponies freak out over a spider/snake/bug, and he's almost always the one to offer to take it outside.

Zep wants to do better(this shows in how far he's come from his personal experiences anyway, but for arc reasons he's still working through some other stuff), and be better to others. Especially fillies & foals! He never had a problem(or ultimately harmful intentions) w/young'ns, just an unhealthy infatuation w/fear which he experimented with in the past(never make it personal((unless necessary or untraceable)), one of John's basic rules when working w/him, as Logan already knows). This is apparent when they've both grown close enough for Logan to suggest Zep join him & his daughter for a tea party(or something similar) sometime. Needless to say he's overjoyed at the idea of proving(to himself, mostly) that he's changed for the better. The playdate goes swimmingly, and later they wonder what they were so worried about.

Logan enjoys meditating(or napping, especially near water) when he has the time to unwind. Zep doesn't get it at first, but it grows on him.

Zep at some point wonders aloud if the other might need his help w/anything trap-related, and Logan immediately assures him that he'd never let him get mixed up in such a job again. Even if Zep happened to feel up to the task, or really didn't mind. Logan knows that he'd help if push came to shove & there really were no other options, but he doesn't feel right putting his new friend in any potential danger.

Logan notices that Zep's wings are almost always unkempt/shedding frequently. The other eventually explains that he spends so much time locking his house up at night, that he's too tired to preen them before going to sleep. This routine doesn't help much with his sleep anyway, as he has frequent nightmares. When they've grown closer both problems are fixed rather quickly, needless to say. (Logan's not a pegasus but he knows the basics on their hygiene/care, being in the medical field and all. Zep hasn't had any pegasus friends in years. That mixed with his trauma had caused him to ignore his wings, and largely not use them at all over time)

Zep is fine with being closer friends w/Logan, until he realizes just how much he enjoys hearing his voice. He figures it's just a 'Him' thing, so he doesn't address it for a while. Logan finally notices how flustered he gets after a lengthy talk with him at some point. Zep tries to distract himself with work/study while he speaks sometimes, but eventually Logan insists on addressing it.

Scott Tibbs & Adam Stanheight(rustynailshipping):

Adam(while recovering & training under John & Amanda) hears about Scott's documentary from others, and it takes him a while to find a watchable copy. When he finally views the film, he's not too upset by it. He wonders how Scott's doing, that is, if he survived his little display of course.

Scott's still alive, he just has a big scar/dip on his right shoulder & isn't as strong a flyer aymore. He's also not as cocky/loud-mouthed as he was before the incident. Doesn't mind not being in a band anymore, and still enjoys music enough to consider trying something in a different direction. He knows that he messed up, and eventually wants to do better, he's just not so sure where to start with making real friends yet.

Adam soon decides(when he has time between errands/training) that he should pay Scott a little visit. He runs the idea by Amanda first, of course. The Protégés do value their privacy, after all...

It's autumn(first week of October) when Adam finds Scott working at a Halloween store, which makes for a great excuse to spook him a little at first.

He stays in the entrance near the counter, pretending to check the prices of silly-string & bags of synthetic webbing for a beat or two before raising his voice slightly. "Who's the 'Wuss-Puss' Now, buddy?" He laughs in his direction, checking to see if he had heard him, and notices the look on Scott's face. Like he'd seen a ghost. "Hey, uh sorry-- I'm just kidding, man... You okay?" The question makes his stomach turn. He tries a half-smile, but he already looks like he's gonna puke or scream. He's not entirely sure he should be glad to see Adam.

"I'm on break soon, we can talk then if you want... Anyway you need something?" He gestures to the masks & prop weapons on the wall behind him as he hands somepony else their change & thanks them. "Not really..." Adam mumbles before deciding to check out the costume makeup section of the store to kill some time.

A foal had just come in w/his mother, stumped on exactly which outfit he wanted this year. He hadn't thrown a fit, and he was very focused on choosing correctly for a good while. Finally the small colt had decided on a well-made dragon costume, but didn't know exactly which props would go best with the outfit.

Scott had made sure to dig around in the back for some yellow & orange streamers(for fire-breathing), and a princess pony doll(damsel in distress). His mother was very grateful, "Now you'll be ready if a Brave Knight shows up to the costume party!" she added cheerfully on their way out.

Adam watched carefully while Scott locked the register & counter, pocketing his keys and cigs. He brushed past the other dismissively. "Wanna smoke? I got a minute..." He pauses at the door for his old friend before stepping outside himself.

When you say migo tried growing a horn but it went wrong can you go into detail... like what did she do.. I kinda imagine she has a fucked up horn crown thing but not like asingle unicorn one but the average big goat or ram ones . Hey i really like this au can you tell !!

Night hunter is a tall lean cat with a ton of fur! He’s almost dowsed in ash (to represent shadows) with the only things glowing being his eyes. As beau he’s tall and lean still but more clearly malnourished with a dirty coat and dull eyes.

Shins spear is still a spear but it’s forged out of his old fallen horns.

The nightmare kings sword in its dormant form can appear as a normal accessory for the animal that holds it. For example for Beau and Hannah it’s a cat collar but for the Nightmare king it’s a ring that goes onto her main (broken) horn and can sharpen to emulate that kinda sword sharpness without a goat needing to hold a sword.

This also applies to Lunia’s hourglass, for example when Logan is in possession of it, it turns into a bridal (or a saddle depending if Zoey needs a ride or not)

With Migo she believed that all magic stemmed from the horn so in turn she tried to gain magic by spending others. Every time she was around Lunia she would slowly take pieces of her mane, her hooves and the breaking point the tip of her horn. Migo used dark spells to even attempt to grow her own horn and in turn now the only magic she can use is dark magic. What she didnt know is that magic did not come from the horn so when Lunia woke up with a chipped horn and Migo missing she knew what Migo had done and still had enough magic to trap Migo in the cave.

The nightmare king is all fucked up and has three horns, her makeshift unicorn horn (think Queen Chrysalis from Mlp horn) and her baby goat horns which never grew

One of them I'm currently working on is something for my MLP blog; it's a hurt/comfort drabble with Twlight Sparkle (main protagonist) and Spike (main protagonist's family/friend). To me, Twilight is like the big sister and Spike is like the baby brother. Sanders Sides related? I'm working on a drabble called A Wilting Flower that's based on a post one of my other moots talked about (@/askfurrysides). It's platonic Roceit, hurt/comfort; Janus comforting a very hurt Roman. One of my faves? Oh, they're all my darlings... one good one is this Dukexiety MLP au with cracked-horn unicorn Remus, flightless pegasus Virgil, earth pony Janus & Patton, and unicorn Logan. There's some "gotta find my missing brother" type of stuff. Janus and Roman have a kinder, less angsty friendship in this au. It mainly focuses on Dukexiety and Creativitwins.

What's funny is I was going through and moving around old Wattpad drafts from those ol' days, and found a lot of common tropes I still kinda write. Weird Sides AU That I Have Stored Away #3

so I have this one AU for the Sides where Character Thomas gets stuck in a random fantasy world and meets Roman who is a talking unicorn and they go on a Quest for I don't even know what because I really haven't thought about it that much but the point is Thomas wants to go back home, lol. The important thing though is that Patton, Logan and Virgil are Wizard of Oz inspired characters...Logan is the tin man, Patton is the scarecrow, and Virgil is a jaguar in place of the lion.

The thing about this is that in the Wizard of Oz, the scarecrow's main thing was that he wanted a brain, and the tin man a heart. But since Patton is so emotional and Logan is so smart, Logan can effectively serve as Patton's brain, and Patton as Logan's heart, meaning that all they really need is each other, and that's one of my favorite Logicality thoughts :3.

oh man i bet logan had worked hard to keep her alterhumanity a secret from his family (logan uses he/she in this au) and then when logan was 19 and patton was 17, patton was like “hey logan i think im a dog :D” and logan still can’t even fathom saying she’s also alterhuman. patton starts being openly therian and their dads are supportive, if confused. and logan wants that, but he’s still scared of being perceived the same way as patton. immature and childish (especially since her main kintype is a unicorn). but that’s just how logan perceives patton
