honestly all this talk of that god awful new norm cartoon is reminding me of that horrendous 90's sitcom i watched a few years ago, unhappily ever after, probably because both are right-wing trash.
at least unhappily ever after pretends to be an entertaining sitcom... not that it succeeds.
the new norm's just a never-ending series of jokes shitting on minorities without even trying to pretend it has a plot.

Alright @fitzrove Rudolf: Affaire Mayerling - My version (because there were a few other bits worth keeping).
Title: Taaffe deals with that obnoxious brat, the Crown Prince.
Act 1: https://youtu.be/ginZNE_GXVk
2:00-3:23 Set the scene, the first line of our hero :) (NB - Mary does not appear here - cut is right before she comes on stage)
8:41-10:41 The Emperor chastises our hero for his shortcomings. Our hero needles the treasonous brat that is the Crown Prince.
36:46-44:19 or 49:10 Our hero has a ‘conversation’ with an impudent newspaper editor and arranges for misfortune to befall him. (to 49:10) The Crown Prince sees the aftermath and the vengeful newspaper editor and his friends encourage the Crown Prince to commit treason
1:01:27-1:02:25 The Crown Prince spies our hero telling the Emperor of his suspicions.
Act 2: https://youtu.be/UMcrRWCbK-k
0:00-3:25 The treasonous brat has a bad dream featuring our hero.
30:25-31:06 Our hero’s glorious speech to the masses.
43:22-44:39 or 50:29 Our hero receives a report from a minion and monologues. (to 50:29) and threatens the Crown Prince’s latest side piece, who is just as impudent as the brat himself.
57:50-59:30 or 1:01:33 The Crown Prince commits treason. Our hero brings evidence of said treason to the Emperor. (to 1:01:33) and rubs it in the treasonous little brat’s face that his side piece left him.
1:13:34-1:13:47 Our hero, Count Taaffe, takes his bow.

rapunzel's exile
Tumblr media
when the witch discovered rapunzel's treacherous encounters with the prince, she cruelly chopped off her famed hair, and exiled her to a place she would never be found nor saved from: a marsh filled with thousands of venomous snakes. as rapunzel lamented her fate, the witch heard the prince calling to his love from the bottom of the tower. "rapunzel!" he called, "let down your hair!" however, it was the witch, not the fair rapunzel who dropped down the long dark braid, and as the prince reached the lone window where he expected his love to be, he was faced with the smirking face of the witch. she pushed him off the tower with all her might, sending him falling down, down, down into the briarthorn bushes which surrounded the secluded tower. the evil barbs ripped his fine clothes, pierced his milky skin, and blinded his eyes, leaving him helpless. rapunzel swore she felt him fall from the tower, the pain in her heart so great that she began to look longingly at the waters beneath her perch, wondering if in them she would find peace.

There’s nothing left to write about.
No more fire.
No more surprises.
Just a fraught comfort between me and him tinged with so much what-could-have-been’s. I’ve become unrecognizable with my acquiesce to this state of neutral affairs; this defeating silence. The twenty-year old me would never settle for less than daily searing kisses. She would never settle for still wondering how old loves’ kisses feel like when going to bed with the guy she chose for life. But then, she also didn’t know that the guy she marries would obliterate her heart into smithereens and make her stop believing in happy endings.
