Naruto Manga Part 2
Part 8
Naruto is seen returning to the village after his talk with Nagato. Naruto is exhausted and was about to fall over, but Kakashi catches him (let’s all appreciate that the first thing he did after coming back to life was to go look for his student). He pressed his cheeks and wrapped his arms around Kakashi. Also Kakashi is making a reference to when he carried Naruto on his back after their battle on the Valley of the End.
Naruto returns to the village and the first thing he sees is all the villagers cheering for him. He has become a hero and saviour of the village and everyone acknowledges him as a hero. Naruto had achieved his dream of wanting everyone to acknowledge him (There’s a deeper meaning to why he even wants everyone to acknowledge him in the first place and it has to do with his past).
Naruto is very suprised, he is not used to being treated this way by everyone after all. Notice how us as viewers are more happy than Naruto himself (not that he isn’t happy of course) I’ll get more into why when we come to the Dark Naruto part.
*Sakura rant* Why is the first thing Sakura does after Naruto saved her village is to punch him in the fucking head?! Jesus Christ it’s like Kishi WANTS her to be hated. Look at Naruto’s face in the bottom right picture, it’s like he thinks ”What the hell have i done now?!”. Sakura then hugs him because she’s grateful that Naruto saved the village (way to show you’re gratefulness earlier you lousy bitch).*Sakura rant over*
Notice how Hinata smiles here. She doesn’t feel threatened at all by their supposed ”romantic relationship” but she rather sees them as a brother and sister type relationship (like most people). Actually their relationship is almost like Harry and Hermione. Both scolding and caring for each other as good FRIENDS. Also notice how Naruto didn’t hug her back after a physically, mentally and emotionally draining battle while he pressed his cheeks and put his arms tightly around Kakashi. Why is this? Well maybe it’s because they aren’t so close after all.
Naruto doesn’t notice when Sakura is sad over her master’s near verge of death. He knows how it feels like to lose his master but he cant notice her feelings of inadequancy and her sadness? He couldn’t notice when she was depressed over her inferiority complex when drafting for the Chunnin Exams either (to much in his own fantasy world of being acknowledged and beating Sasuke lol) he only noticed when it concerned Sasuke. Imaging only noticing when someones depressed because of another person you’re both obssesed over.
When Hinata was sad he comforted her by saying she saved him more than twice and that she was strong. He also noticed her sadness through her eyes.
Notice how when Tazuna asked if there was a love triangle going on, Naruto happily denied it (confirming that there never really was anything serious going on and also that he didn’t have any ”romantic feelings” at all at this point, since he seemed so carefree about it) Naruto was maturing and just acting like a good friend here and Sakura was thankful for that. (They were honestly acting just fine here so why did Sakura decide to make that fake confession later? She underestimates Naruto).
Naruto now reveals he knows what revenge truly feels like. After his fight with Pain he now understands why Sasuke was so obssesed with revenge. Why is this? Maybe because witnessing Hinata getting stabbed triggered the worst emotions he’d ever felt and he almost transformed into the Nine Tailed Demon Fox because he hated Pain and wanted revenge on him. Tell me how Hinata didn’t contribute to the main story when she was a reason why Naruto could understand Sasuke in the first place.
A topic that must be touched upon now unfortunately is:
Why didn’t Naruto talk to Hinata after the Pain arc? Well in universe, we have to consider that Naruto has never in his life experienced real romantic love before. It’s something that’s completly foreign to him. Sometimes when affection is directed towards yourself, it is hard to realise what it really means. Mentally abused people like Naruto is no exception, someone that never experienced parental love, how are we supposed to expect that he would understand romantic love aswell? Something that is way more complex than that too.
Also let’s be real here considering what i’ve just said how would Naruto be able to recognize what Hinata really meant when he was pinned downed by rods, about to be taken and his greatest enemy being right in front of him in a destroyed Konoha crater. It all probably happend in a blink of an eye and before he knew it he was already transformed into the six-tails. The tension was really high and Naruto was already in emotional turmoil and despair, there were simply too much happening at the same time for him to comprehend it all.
Later everyone acknowledged him as a Hero and suddenly everyone was paying him attention and he became very busy aswell. Pressing matters in the shinobi world were happening immediatly after his return, like Sasuke being ordered to be disposed of. Other responsibilities were being placed on him so in context he really didn’t have time to think about what her confession really meant and what it made him feel, he not only didn’t have any help from others to understand it but other things were happening so quickly too.
Also the reason Kishi didn’t show Naruto thanking Hinata was because Kishimoto felt awkward about writing romance. He’d rather wait till later and make it more indirect than write actual lovey dovey stuff, and i dont blame him completely. Its a fighting manga after all, and not a romance (altough i wouldn’t say he’s bad with romance as he understands the context) He probably didn’t plan to explain when or how they got together at this point in time, he was just gonna do it, as that was what he always wanted since part 1. Had Naruto accepted her feelings right there and then it would have moved away from the main topic of the story, which is saving Sasuke.
His actions later in chapter 559, 615 and 677 makes his answer to her confession an indirect YES. He was already in love with Hinata subconsiously. You might believe that it happend after this arc but it was actually implied in Naruto’s theme song from The Last. ”He now understood the meaning of that warmth” and ”her overflowing kindness”. Judging by this Naruto could have loved her as early as chapter 77 when he told her from the direct translation: ”Thank you, you’re far too kind Hinata!”. It was probably because of her kindness but also the origin of how Hinata fell for Naruto was out of admiration and respect, the same reasons Naruto started feeling something for her too in the Chunnin Exams.
Sai falsely states that Naruto is going this far to save Sasuke because of unrequited feelings for Sakura and because of that promise (that he admits he didn’t know anything about, also when Sai asked Naruto about how he felt about her he said ”how can i? Cant even keep my promises.” Seems to me that he was more depressed over not getting Sasuke back and the only reason he haven’t given up on Sakura completly is because he wants to keep his word because that’s his ninja way. He actually let his ”crush” go after that hospital hug where he saw Sasuke’s tender face and accepted that Sakura loved Sasuke. He realised subconsiously that what he was feeling before was a pointless childish crush.)
Sai accuses Sakura of causing Naruto alot of pain too because of that promise, and that’s true. Promise of a life time more like Burden of a life time. Anyways Sakura cries because of guilt and decides that the only way to make Naruto stop chasing after Sasuke is to falsely confess to him like the narcissistic *nice lady* that she is. Next time i’ll be going over the fake confession. Here’s the other parts if you wanna check them out.

Pro Sasuke Uchiha
I'm still salty about Sasuke’s ending. He was written to be the bad guy... konoha and the real shinobi system destroyed his entire life but the boy must ask for forgiveness?
Giving him a marriage to a girl he never romantically cared about is total nonsense, but as if that wasn't enough, they had an overrated child...
Cool to see that Sasuke is still badass with his disability, and I'm pretty sure he could still kick Naruto's ass without a doubt.
No Sasuke is not an overrated character. He has so many flaws, he's totally imperfect but perfect in a very complex way.
I would have been sad for sure if he had died after the war if Sakura's healing hadn't worked but when I see what they decided to do with Sasuke in Boruto, I'm really hurt. It hurts so much.
Now he has become a watchdog for Naruto and Konoha, a village of traitors, in which he never really had a place, even when his clan was still alive, because since the dawn, the Uchiha were just wild beasts that scared everyone with their Sharingan ... but what about the Hyuga, Byakugan and the condition of slavery imposed by the Sôke to the Bunke? But now, who will dare to say anything about this when Hinata is married to Naruto, the current Hokage?
No, it's just normal for everyone that Sasuke has (and not HAD because he still is) to atone for his sins but Orochimaru, one of the biggest criminals that Konoha never sheltered is free to move around without any problem... (wait Konohamaru, who is always salty about Orochimaru being free because he killed his grandfather...).
The thing is, nobody ever asked about Sasuke's opinion or feelings. People always think for him as if he wasn't emotionally/physically able to say something.
His own father, Fugaku, could only see him as a failed copy of his eldest son, and only changed his mind when Itachi started rebelling.
Itachi only pushed him away, perhaps with good intentions, but his actions were completely wasted.
Sakura only sees in Sasuke the object of her personal desires ... a kind of trophy to be won, because it's so cool to be married to the handsome guy from your prom.
Naruto, despite all the things we can say about him, he's just as selfish as Sasuke, even worse. Was it really vital to chase Sasuke across different countries and for so many years to bring him back to your shitty village and make him do the shit that nobody wants to do because Sasuke must atone for his sins after all ... OMG, stay in your office and eat your ramen, leave Sasuke alone.
Kakashi... so much to say about the relationship between Kakashi and Sasuke. Kakashi seemed to respect Sasuke at first, he even admitted that Sasuke was his favourite student and unfortunately, it's often the favourites that disappoint their teacher the most. Then, Kakashi was clearly fed up with Sasuke's emotional state and moods, telling him that he also had lost all the people he cherished and that he had never rebelled against the system... So who did that little idiot Sasuke think he was? Yes, of course, Kakashi, you preferred to stay faithful to your village like a good doggie and cry alone when no one's watching... That was Kakashi Sensei's advice, thank you Kakashi.
And people are starting to be mean to the Hebi / Taka team but if you're really a fan of Sasuke, you know that Karin, Suigetsu and Jūgo are the only ones who really helped Sasuke, were willing to die to save his life, because they trusted him, because he saved their lives and set them free.
I sincerely think that Karin, Jūgo and Suigetsu are the only ones who understand him, because they complement each other. They have shared a lot, both on their personal lives and on their journey. (I could redo a little post to make the parallelism between the Taka team members and why they are so connected to each other, if you're interested).
Well, I'm still salty by Sasuke's ending, and what they dared to do with the Taka team, for using them as a comic relief over and over again, when they really were part of Sasuke's development and his story, much more than Naruto and Sakura combined...
Please Mikoto, Fugaku, control your feral brat, he really is a bad guy, damned Uchiha! (kiss on your nose Tobirama!)

it's past two am and I was going to go to sleep but my brain screamed at me NEJI and refused to elaborate, so I'm going to do the only reasonable thing and ask my fav blog: do you have any hot takes about him?
I'm so sorry this took so long 😭 I have no excuses. My takes probably aren't very hot, but here we go:
We will not be discussing the disservice of his death
I dig his Shippuden look. The white and gray color scheme, the traditional clothing as inspiration, the gray... over skirt? Open kilt? Idk what it is but it gives me Shippuden Sakura vibes, and I enjoy it. I would have liked his hair better if it had been done differently, though. Maybe totally loose or pulled into a high ponytail?
He deserved to be angry with his entire family, including Hinata, and Konoha at large. I'm including Hinata because even though it wasn't directly her fault and she was also abused, it was a different kind and didn't prevent her from becoming a focus for Neji's trauma. Trauma is messy like that
Where's the structural change in the clan? Where's the acknowledgement that because Neji is clearly more proficient in their fighting style than Hinata, maybe it's reckless to use him as a shield for her? Even strong traditions get questioned
Neji and Hanabi should have scenes together. In a way, they've had opposite and identical experiences with Hinata. They're both stronger than she is, but where Hanabi was allowed to surpass Hinata in standing, Neji wasn't. If Hinata had been stronger, Hanabi wouldn't have the guilt of being chosen over her and Neji wouldn't have the burden of knowing he could be called on to die for someone weak. Their relationships are so complicated that I want to shake someone because we never deal with any of it!
He was a phenomenal comedic partner for Lee. He's so rigid and proper that Lee's enthusiastic nonsense is even more stark. It's kind of like Gai and Kakashi, but we know that Kakashi actually enjoys the challenges. I don't think Neji secretly enjoys Lee's screaming*. Unfortunately, his refusal to be carried on Lee's back made me blurt laugh
I love that good, good NejiTen content. I wish Tenten got to do things in general, but I also think she and Neji would be a great team in a fight. I would like to see her throw things to him while he's spinning and Neji throwing them back at enemies. Team Gai ultimate move: Tenten heaves Lee and a barrage of weapons at Neji, Neji redirects them all, Lee screams in excitement the whole time. That would be phenomenal
The bird in a cage imagery is really, really good. Arguably the best in the whole series. And actually, I am going to talk about his death because we got the imagery of the cage opening so the bird could fly free and I love digging into imagery
The bird in a cage metaphor doesn't work for Neji in Shippuden. He'd already gotten free. His cage opened after he found out about Hizashi and began to work with Hinata. His cage was the Hyūga system, but because of that system, he was forced into another cage. He was emotionally distant. He wasn't making friends because he didn't want them because why would he? But that cage opened, too. He made connections with other people. He was his own person, living a life he was choosing. His death scene didn't open any cages because they were already open. His death for the sake of Hinata wasn't consistent with his character arc. It was a rehashing of Hiashi and Hizashi, but unlike Hizashi, who hadn't found any freedom before his death, Neji's death not only shut his cage but dragged him back into it first. He died in Hinata's place because she couldn't protect herself. That torpedoed both his progress and Hinata's
Where is the battle where Hizashi beats the shit out of Hiashi? If I had left my kid in the care of a sibling who did what Hiashi did, I would destroy that sibling. Just erase them from existence
* I'm actually torn about this because I don't think he's like Kakashi and wants to take part in the nonsense, but I do think that Lee is special to him. We don't see them together enough, but it would be consistent with his growth as a person if he accepted that he was shitty about Lee's dream because he wanted to be able to reach like that. He couldn't be optimistic. But he wanted to be. He wanted Lee to succeed and break destiny
Side note: NejiLee? Underrated

for the meme: naruto, sakura, sasuke, kakashi
THANK YOU!!!!!!!
naruto
general opinion: fall in a hole and die | don’t like them | eh | they’re fine I guess | like them! | love them | actual love of my life hotness level: get away from me | meh | neutral | theoretically hot but not my type | pretty hot | gorgeous! | 10/10 would bang hogwarts house: gryffindor | slytherin | ravenclaw | hufflepuff (i haven’t actually thought too much about these so i’m going with my gut here but dicey and i were talking tonight about the generational difference between naruto and jiraiya when it comes to loyalty. jiraiya grew up in a time of war and is a solider, he was trained to be loyal to the village. if it came down to it, he’d kill even tsunade if she betrayed the village. naruto is loyal to people. if sakura betrayed the village, he would never give up on her, just like he never gave up on sasuke. naruto wants to protect the village because the village is where the people he loves live. naruto’s entire narrative arc is about bonds so i’m pretty sure he’s a hufflepuff) best quality: god i just wrote a fucking essay above about it- his loyalty and bonds to other people. everyone he meets is now his friend whether they like it or not ! he was just such a lonely kid, desperate for attention, for love, for acknowledgement, anything at all. and it would’ve been so easy for him to sit in that, to let himself hate the village, to resent them- but he didn’t. he set out to prove them wrong and he did. he is so, so, so fucking good. worst quality: HIS TASTE IN MEN. okay like, on the real, it’s not his fault and boruto isn’t real but it’s such UTTER BULLSHIT that the entire fucking series he met these people who got fucked over by the village status quo and he promised them he was going to change it when he became hokage and he fucking didn’t. its BULLSHIT. it’s not his fault, that’s not him, but GOD i’m MAD. ship them with: SAKURA, sasuke, gaara, shikamaru, sai, kiba, hinata. brotp them with: SAKURA- in fact all of the above list. he has great dynamics with them. also, kakashi, iruka, jiraiya, tsunade, choji, i like to imagine his and ino’s dynamic as fucking hilarious when they’re older. oh and i want him and karin to be annoying cousins together like PLEASE i DESERVE THIS. needs to stay away from: STOP SHIPPING HIM WITH KAKASHI!!!!!!!! ENOUGH!!!!! GO TO JAIL!!!!!!!!! misc. thoughts: that’s my fucking BABY i’ve shed SO MANY TEARS over this blonde idiot. he’s so good.
sakura
general opinion: fall in a hole and die | don’t like them | eh | they’re fine I guess | like them! | love them | actual love of my life hotness level: get away from me | meh | neutral | theoretically hot but not my type | pretty hot | gorgeous! | 10/10 would bang hogwarts house: gryffindor | slytherin | ravenclaw | hufflepuff (again, havent thought about it before now, but my gut SCREAMs gryffindor. she’s so...punchy, and head strong, and hard working. just like. all the gryffindor traits!) best quality: sakura’s character development lives rent free in my head. like. okay. sakura always had potential. she ranked high in her classes, she had better chakra control than naruto or sasuke, mastered things quicker than them, was observant and book smart. but physically and emotionally, she was weak! she could not hold her own in battle the way naruto or sasuke could, and often her fear got in the way, if not straight up controlled her. when naruto and sasuke fought, she could do nothing but beg them to stop. when sasuke left the village, he easily knocked her out. and sakura knew she was the weak link of team 7. so she resolved to get stronger. she sought out tsunade and trained with her for four years. and like, tsunade is an insane person. sakura would break her bones and tsunade would have her keep training and just heal them later. she mastered healing. she mastered chakra control. she developed fucking superhuman strength. she refused to be the weak link anymore, to just sit back helplessly while naruto and sasuke fought. she’s from a civilian family, she has NOTHING in terms of innate ninja abilities like literally everyone else in her class, but she became the strongest female ninja of her generation and surpassed her legendary sannin mentor through sheer hard work and determination. FUCK. she’s so cool. worst quality: again, this is NOT HER FAULT, it’s bad sexist writing, but sakura is such a fun and obnoxious character who matches naruto beat for beat, but when sasuke comes around she’s a shell of herself. even when she’s MARRIED TO HIM she doesn’t act like herself. she’s reverted back to that inflatuated 12 year old she’s long outgrown! bro, WHAT! ship them with: NARUTO AND INO. and. ok. listen. i’ve become soft for sasuke/sakura’s potential. if sakura got to be herself with sasuke, they’d be, at the very least, FUN. and sasuke/naruto/sakura is so fun. also rock lee is so sweet, i would not have been mad if they’d been endgame. brotp them with: NARUTO AND INO. kakashi, tsunade, hinata, rock lee. needs to stay away from: STOP!!! SHIPPING!!! KAKASHI!!! WITH!!! HIS!!! STUDENTS!!!!!!! misc. thoughts: i knew i would love sakura. look at her. she has pink hair and she punches things. 10/10. but she quickly, quickly became not just my favorite naruto character, but one of my favorite characters in all of shounen anime. the ball was dropped with her, multiple times, but she’s still such a dynamic fucking character with the best character development.
sasuke
general opinion: fall in a hole and die | don’t like them | eh | they’re fine I guess | like them! | love them | actual love of my life | there aren’t words to describe how i feel about him hotness level: get away from me | meh | neutral | theoretically hot but not my type | pretty hot | gorgeous! | 10/10 would bang hogwarts house: gryffindor | slytherin | ravenclaw | hufflepuff (sasuke is...hard. i think the argument for gryffindor could also be made, but i’m leaning towards slytherin) best quality: i’m so tired. the thing about sasuke is....he deserved so much better than he got. i can’t tell you what his best quality is because his entire character arc is him being self destructive. he’s not fucking well!!!! the good parts of him he either tries to snuff out, or the story glosses over them to show how far he’s fallen. I think, the one good quality that refused to die, is his protectiveness. Him protecting Naruto in the Zabuza arc was such a pivotal moment for him, for his and Naruto’s relationship, for Team 7, for the story. It was the moment where everything changed. He was so desperate to protect Naruto from Itachi, he was super protective of Sakura in the forest of death, and even in Shippuden, he’s protective of team Taka, and unfortunately the moment I finally broke and said fuck it, I love Sasuke, is when he protected Naruto, Sakura, and Kakashi from the infinite tsukiyomi. worst quality: his extremism lmao like. god. again, dicey and i have talked about this, how characters who challenge the status quo are portrayed as ~crazy~ and extremists so yet again, its BAD WRITING but also PROPAGANDA! god. but like, i’m sorry, fuck the village but he wanted to go after people who were not involved in what happened to Itachi. I understand his anger, but I wish the narrative had treated it and him with respect rather than throwing a fucking dart at a board to decide what Sasuke’s character arc was going to be about this week! ship them with: naruto, suigetsu, juugo, and again, lowkey sakura. brotp them with: naruto, sakura, kakashi, team taka, itachi needs to stay away from: STOP SHIPPING HIM WITH HIS TEACHER AND BROTHER. YALL. misc. thoughts: i’m so fucking tired. what was kishimoto trying to do with him! i don’t understand! sasuke was right! he was fully right to hate the village, to demand change. why did kishimoto have the village repeatedly doing heinous, evil things, validating sasuke’s resentment, but sasuke was portrayed as being in the wrong. ALSO, the ENTIRE. FUCKING. POINT. of naruto is bonds, and how important friendship and love is, and sasuke’s entire GODDAMN NARRATIVE is about him breaking those bonds to become stronger, and destroying himself in the process, and everyone he loves telling him this isn’t the right path, and FINALLY he accepts it- and then in boruto he’s JUST. ALONE? HE HASNT MET HIS DAUGHTER IN 12 YEARS WHEN FAMILY WAS SO IMPORTANT TO HIM???? I HATE IT. I HATE IT. THIS IS SO BAD. SASUKE DESERVED BETTER.
kakashi
general opinion: fall in a hole and die | don’t like them | eh | they’re fine I guess | like them! | love them | actual love of my life hotness level: get away from me | meh | neutral | theoretically hot but not my type | pretty hot | gorgeous! | 10/10 would bang hogwarts house: gryffindor | slytherin | ravenclaw | hufflepuff (i want to say ravenclaw and make team 7 representation of all the houses but that man is a gryffindor through and through) best quality: honestly kakashi is a lot of good things but he’s not a character i look at and go “oh i love him because he’s _____”. i love him because he’s a character who has suffered so, so much, who has depression and ptsd and truthfully he just wants to fucking die so fucking bad to the point obito has to tell him “fucking no, stay and live”, but he never gives up. he might be 3 hours late because he couldn’t find the strength to get out of bed, but he still got out of bed eventually and showed up. so, actually, i guess that’s his best quality. he keeps going. worst quality: so like. how did he end up a teacher. i’m just wondering. LISTEN, HE LOVES HIS KIDS SO MUCH. but he is NOT well suited to teaching, he does not fucking like kids, sasuke and naruto are TRAUMATIZED and he’s just like “hm. when’s the new book of icha icha paradise coming out?” BROOOOOOOOOOOOOO ship them with: GAI IS HIS LEGAL HUSBAND AND SOULMATE. obito is his ex-boyfriend who he’ll always love an idolized version of. brotp them with: naruto, sakura, sasuke, yamato, rin, asuma, kurenai. needs to stay away from: [screeching] STOP! SHIPPING! HIM! WITH! CHILDREN! YOU’RE! GOING! TO! JAIL! also i fucking hate kakashi/iruka THEY NEVER TALK?????????? WHY IS IT SO POPULAR?????? misc. thoughts: it’s fucking unfortunate how much he got to me. i knew i wouldn’t dislike him but he ended up being one of my favorite characters and i’m so mad. my reputation of hating fan favorites is on the line here!

So how about that What If AU aka if Voltron was made for adults
Out of order but an idea for me to remember
Story idea - Shiro doesn’t come back until the final season revealing he’s in fact Keith’s uncle/older brother (whichever works) and did not die “I live bitch!”. Or better yet, he forms a team he finds on a planet he got teleported and saving other lives from the other side of the universe. Even though he’s no longer the Black Paladin as he entrusted Black to Keith, the people they saved still saw him as one and a hero. They also made like paintings of him or a statue. So it does switch between the main story and Shiro’s side story unless that’s bad writing. Cuz I was planning on adding more story to Shiro with his new rag tag team since I decided not to kill him off or use him as plot device.
Then it all comes together when Shiro sees Voltron and best reunion ever between his teammates he saw as family. Tears will be spilled.
They did discover the Blue Lion like the show so it stayed that way for like 13 chapters. So after Shiro is now stuck in the astral world (or his rag tag team adventures) lion switch happen, there’s an exchange between the leader and right hand man. Bayard exchange.
So they don’t work along at first leading to frustrations between members, yeah there’s a point even Lance got irritated but after some bonding and vulnerability they finally synchronized. So same thing like the show, just them being more open about it.
“I don’t think I’m cut out to be leader. I’m not calm like Shiro, I’m not as graceful as Allura, and I’m certainly not as good of tech like Hunk and Pidge. And you... Black made a terrible mistake of choosing me as its new paladin” Keith
“Honestly I was jealous you were chosen as the Black Paladin since you’re always the best out of everyone else. And that fact still stands even if I was forced to admit it. But to be frank with you, since the lion switch. I don’t think you’re as bad as you make it out to be. Sure you made an irrational decision and almost costed our lives but not everyone is perfect. Well maybe Shiro but the point is, you are a good leader and the lions never make mistakes. Black chose you for a reason and whatever it is, I will respect it. Besides, you’re not alone anymore. We’ll find Shiro. If it means risking and maybe not destroy everything in our path, I’ll gladly follow you and do this; together. Now let’s go fix this mess.” Lance
I’m taking the concept of Voltron only forming by bonds between lions and paladins into consideration by also having them not able to form Voltron because of dispute. This will also transfer negatively now they joined the Galra side since Lotor killed his father. That’s something I like seeing. Not to mention Lotor and Haggar being the main source to cause tension between teammates.
Do I keep Shiro clone? Nope. Gonna use the generals as double agents.
Do the Blades stay? Yeah. Also make tension between the Blades and Empire Galras cuz why should I trust them?
Does Hunk make food jokes? Not really, he’s a passionate cook sure but majority speaks science, math, and logic. Unlike the show shoving Pidge is the only smart one of the group.
Do I keep the Holts? Let them have death like I wanted.
Does Pidge stop being a dick? Yes
Is Lance reduced to comedy relief? Fuck no
Does Coran have more purpose and gives his insights to his past not to mention I’m bringing his son back for drama and betrayal and reunited? Yes
Does Keith get pissed at Krolia for leaving him despite she did it so he’s safe? Yes
More insight on Krolias relationship with his dad. And yes they had a dog.
Wow romance in the AU? Pining Keith is still happening with a dash of oblivious Lance. Established Hunk and Shay. Unfortunately I’m gonna do Lotor and Allura. Except she realizes Lotor isn’t who she thought he has and final battle between them. Just let me have that. I want her duking it out against Lotor.
Oh yeah have Lance comment on an alien guy that’s he’s cute or flirt with him. Boom established bi. I’ve always liked the idea of Lance knowing he’s bi but hasn’t come to terms yet. Probably denying. I don’t know how to describe it. Or Keith is the only guy he’s ever truly fall in love with like Jenny but he’s like I’m not emotionally ready to love again. Cuz his heart has been broken many times before. Personally I think he stopped believing in love after experience cuz he’s always second never first. And the day Keith confesses he loves him is like, probably laughing bitterly “I don’t believe you” or something.
Does it end with Keith heartbroken and Lance realizing he does love him and done fucked up to the point they make up when he saves his ass? Yes. Does Lance die like in the show where Keith felt his bond with Red cut off and panicked? Allura revives him.
This is indulgment but when Krolia sees Lance? “He reminds me of your father.” And then sees Shiro. “Is this your father’s brother he never told me?” She also may have adopted Hunk.
Who does Shiro end up with? He becomes Kakashi and gets a pet cat when returning home.
More of them getting a break and having fun. Like Space Mall and D&D. Also dimension adventures meeting their alternate selves.
Also give the parents trying to fight their way to Garrison about their children’s whereabouts. We need to know dammit. Have them refuse to believe their children are dead.
Nyma, Rolo, and that robot I forgot his name return as allies.
More Alteans they find. Romelle (like the originals) is her cousin
Bring back Queen Merla ugh my bi heart
Haggar being the true villain because yes and she has magic
Epic battle ensues, war ends, peace finally sets in the universe and everyone goes home.

Karin?
I don’t mind Karin
I think people don’t realize that Karin is a chakra machine! She has amazing abilities she healed lady tsunade when she was on her death bed and karin wasn’t even out of breath!
Karin had a sob story like so many people in naruto I don’t want to get into that sob stories don’t really move me so yeah
Well we know that Karin met sasuke during the chunin exams when he saved her and smiles at her
I believe Karin more of a reason to like sasuke then sakura does (I don’t ship them tho) because sasuke save her life and she never forgot that
After that then she meets him again at orochimaru hideout a few times while sasuke was training under him but then sasuke destroys orochimaru and he makes team taka
I think there was actually one panel where sasuke calls Karin the strongest kunoichi!!! I believe he respects her even though he doesn’t like her romantically
The episodes that interest me the most with Karin was when they were sent out on a akatsuki mission and Karin accidentally gets some of sasuke black flames on her and sasuke saves her even though it caused him bodily harm the only time we ever see him try so hard to save someone was naruto I believe so that was interesting to me it showed that he really cared for her
During the 5 kage summit that’s when Karin comments about sasuke chakra going dark and that the first time we ever really see him be actually cruel to her she then get hit with danzo and sasuke orders sakura to kill her which obviously she doesn’t sasuke tried to kills sakura fails (unfortunately jk lol) and then kakashi and sakura take Karin with them and then that’s when ash says she’s done with sasuke
After that we see Karin get capture and lies about sasuke kidnapping her I loved that part lol She then pretends to be crazy!!! To get out of the jail I believe she’s extremely clever
Then during the war arc before she goes to the battlefield she up with sasuke and he apologizes to her and immediately she forgives him I was very shocked that sasuke apologized to her if I’m being honest
After that she goes and saves lady tsunade life (which I thought was amazing but no one really comment on that she didn’t only save tsunade life but she saved the other Kages life to) and gets in the Infinite Tsukuyomi and in her dream she says all she wanted to see was sasuke smile or something around those lines
Karin and sasuke relationship was really interesting to me he seem to care for her and I think a lot of people don’t see it that
I really don’t mind Karin feelings for sasuke because to me it isn’t over bearing yeah she gets in his space sometimes but she would never try to emotionally abuse him all in all she just wanted him to be happy and I respect her the most for that
I never heard naruto say anything about sasuke happiness he wanted to “save” sasuke from Orochimaru and then from his own “hatred” but her never says anything about sasuke happiness and don’t get me started about sakura she never cared for sasuke’s happiness she just “ loved” sasuke and wanted him to return to the village with her no matter how he feels
Oh and then Karin and the whole gaiden mess I feel like it was unnecessary drama but drama sells I guess and at the end Karin still says all she cares about his sasuke happiness she doesn't ever try to control him with her feelings but it's crazy tho she spends more time with sasuke then his own "wife" does lol
Karin is an interesting character I like her powers we just should’ve saw more of her and that’s all I have to save about her
Thanks for the ask 💄

Tagged by the lovely @anonymouslydevious65 aaaaaages ago. But here I am, finally getting to answering things. I actually really need something distracting to do tonight, so I’m glad you tagged me (even though I never ever got to this!)
Rules: Post 9 characters you can relate to! Afterwards tag 9 people to do this! But most importantly, remember to have fun!
Wow. Ok, this is tough. Under the cut this goes!
1. Hatake Kakashi (Naruto)
I know I know, it sounds so weird, considering I am half in love with him. But I think my attraction to him stems from our similarities. We’ve both been through a lot and suffered emotionally, but also feel like we have to be strong for others and support people at a cost to ourselves. We both keep moving forward though, clinging onto light-hearted things as a distraction from our thoughts or a fantasy that keeps us from collapsing. Oh god this got too deep but it’s a bad day, so you can hear all my heartaches today, i guess. I’d say we’re both dorks, can be goofy and playful, we’re both romantics (you can’t tell me that he is not, I won’t believe you) but also afraid to get close to people, because bonds are painful. Superficial relationships are hard to avoid, but easy to erase with time. Deep emotional attachments are easy to deflect when you know how to redirect conversation, or you avoid sharing pieces of yourself. We would probably avoid each other, if we ever met, because we’re flighty and delicate emotionally and wow ok I’m going to stop sharing rn. We do value the people who do manage to weasel their way in, and are very loyal and protective. No body messes with with people I love.
2. Luna Lovegood (Harry Potter)
I’m not nearly as spacey as Luna, but I’ve definitely spent a little too much time with the stars. You could say I have an eclectic knowledge set, and beliefs which conflict each other on the surface, but when you dive in, make so much sense. I keep it mostly on the dl, with only certain people I trust knowing about it, but there’s a lot of mysticism and occult beliefs inside my brain, right next to the science and the logic and the physics and all that stuffy stuff i picked up. It’s a constant struggle in my brain, but I will say one thing: the scientific method can be applied to things that shouldn’t be measured, and the results would surprise you.
3. Deadpool (Marvel)
I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW. He’s so fucked up. I’ve been reading Deadpool comics for over a decade now, and while I wouldn’t say I’m completely like him, I do often feel like I try very hard to do the right thing, only to fuck it up majorly. Like definitely, intention = in the right place; execution = poor (and that’s being kind). But we both keep on trying, keep trying to do the right thing, no matter how horribly we actually do it. Poor Wade.
4. Kino Makoto/Lita Kino/Sailor Jupiter (Sailor Moon)
I may not be in love with my senpai (and wow, Mako-chan and Yamato have a lot in common. To the anon who sent me the Sailor Moon AU ask that I still haven’t answered because I haven’t been able to figure it all out yet, I think I’m going to say Yamato and the Senju are from Jupiter. Sailor Jupiter’s powers relate to plants and flowers, along with electricity. So i think it could work). Let me start that over. I might not be in love with my senpai, but we faced a lot of the same prejudices. She was very tall, I am very tall, and have always been tall for my age (I was always the tallest in my class, up until grade 8 when one of the boys hit puberty early; then I was the second tallest). I was picked on a lot for being tall, which meant I kicked a lot of ass (karate is a hell of a drug) although I never started anything. I did finish it though (and took no pleasure from it; I’m a pacifist). Luckily I never got caught fighting, and wasn’t expelled like poor Mako-chan. People have a lot of strange and mean misconceptions about tall people. They find height intimidating, especially in a girl/woman who is so much taller than everyone else. We also have a lot of traditionally feminine hobbies, although I definitely do not want to be the perfect housewife. No thank you, which actually brings me to my next character...
5. Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez (Bleach)
I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW. He’s so fucked up. But we both share a strong desire to be free, and in charge of our life. I hate feeling trapped, or being bossed around. It drives me mad. Don’t tell me what to do, I get irrationally upset and belligerent, even. It’s dumb. Even simple things, and especially things I was going to do, and then I was told to do right before I got to it. As an example of how stupid this is, I went to a restaurant with my family, and my aunt was asking about the dish I ordered. I was telling her how delicious it was, and I was about to offer her some, when my cousin (her son) said, “give her a bite to try.” And omg it still makes me mad thinking about it. I held myself back from snapping at him (it took years to control that urge) but being told what to do in any capacity makes my insides twist and I get the urge to just...destroy. And this has been with me since before I can remember. I was that child that did the opposite of what I was told All. The. Time. I was embarrassingly susceptible to reverse psychology, still am, sometimes, if I’m not paying attention and I let that feeling run away from me. I also hate being manipulated, so if I catch on to what you’re doing/trying to do, that’s it. You’re dead to me. I just hate being bossed around. Grimmjow says he’s the king and No One tells him what to do---I feel you, Grimmy. That’s my dream. To be free to do what I want, to go where I want, to be who I want. And i want it all. I might be a slight megalomaniac. Maybe. Possibly. Ok, definitely.
6. Lagertha (Vikings)
Ok, so I wish I were as badass as Lagertha. But there is one thing we both have in common; our respect for ourselves trumps almost everything else. We don’t put up with being mistreated, and if we are, we do something about it. We’re not the woman that will sit around and lament her issues while letting a man mistreat us, just because we love him. I am the boss of me. And you will give me the respect I deserve---and in turn, I will give you all due respect as well. But the second that bond is broken, then you’ve lost us.
7. Samus Aran (Metroid)
Ok, so I’ve never read the Metroid comics, and the Samus in the newer games is totally different from the one I knew as a little girl. But she was my hero, when I was a little girl. The first woman I saw in a video game who was the hero of the story (not the one being saved) who kicked ass, who was respected. She was tall and strong and caring and I wanted to be her so badly. I still want to be her. I like to think I grew up into someone like her---strong and confident, not letting people get in my way while still being compassionate and thoughtful and (hopefully) kind.
8. Violet Baudelaire (A Series of Unfortunate Events)
I’m not the oldest, but I was often treated as such. We both took care of our siblings, and were in charge of the Thinking part of any plan. We craft words into weapons and no one is the wiser... until they’re right where we want them and they suddenly realise nothing is going according to plan. I also have horrible luck, and am stuck in my own Series of Unfortunate Events.
9. Ash Ketchum (Pokemon)
because... I WANNA BE THE VERY BEST, LIKE NO ONE EVER WAS!!!! Ok ok this is a joke. But I honestly don’t know. it was very hard to find even 8 characters that I relate to. And I ended up sharing a bit too much. Oh well. Actually...
9. Icarus (Greek Mythology)
I said before that I’m a bit of a megalomaniac, but it’s more that I am ambitious. Overly ambitious. And sometimes, my ambitions take over and I reach a little too far and I end up getting burnt. My wax wings have actually very recently melted, and I’m dealing with the consequence of that fall. Luckily, I can get back up again (even if it’s difficult to move, from the burns and all the hardened wax I have to break through to get back on my feet).
Sooo, I’m not tagging anyone, because I don’t know who to tag. I also don’t want to bring a bunch of people’s attention to this far too open post. Why am I posting this? Because it’s 6:25 AM and I haven’t slept and it’s cathartic. I’m going to go with that.

So, I’ve been reading your asks, and I just thought I’d share some of my ideas in relation to how Hinata/Neji/the Hyuga could have gotten more development. Feel free to give this a read more, since there’s A LOT I want to share.
Neji was introduced as a character similar to the likes of Sasuke, Naruto, and Gaara. He was living with family that he despised and hated, family who would break apart his brain cells should he disobey them, being forced to live as a slave for others. Hinata was introduced as the very apparent love interest of Naruto and a girl who wanted to better herself as a person after being considered worthless and weak by her family simply because of her kindness. Unfortunately, such stories teeming with potential were ended far too quickly in Neji’s case and outright ignored with Hinata’s.
Neji’s story should have been handled like Gaara’s and Sasuke’s, in other words, leading into part 2 instead of ending in part 1. However, like Gaara, Neji’s story would have been resolved early in part 2 as opposed to the end like Sasuke’s was.
Part 1 The question arises then; How does one prolong and flesh out Neji’s story? I think, ideally, he should have gone to Orochimaru’s side much like Sasuke. Neji was introduced as a mirror of Sasuke, much as Gaara to Naruto, so this would make sense. The given motive would have been that Neji joined him in hopes of this genius granting him a way to remove the Caged Bird Seal and live freely of his fate, and Orochimaru himself would have wanted Neji for his Byakugan. Orochimaru wants to find a way to make the Byakugan his own thus he needs to get rid of the Caged Bird Seal before getting to the eyes themselves. This would naturally mean Neji would have to run into and possibly fight either Orochimaru or some of his minions in order for Orochimaru to take interest in him, which I think could have been shown while Lee was off defending Sakura. Of course, I am aware that the Caged Bird Seal doesn’t function like this in canon, as it is possible for one to obtain a Branch member’s Byakugan by taking it while they are alive, so the story would be altered to instead have the Caged Bird Seal seal away the Byakugan if one attempts to remove the eyes. I would also alter the Caged Bird Seal to have it limit or hinder the abilities of the Branch family members in order to insure they don’t surpass the Main family in power, as this would make Neji’s feats of learning Rotation and 64 Palms all the more impressive and further his feats as a genius among the Hyuga. A scenario like this would create such an amazing contrast between Sasuke and Neji. Both Sasuke and Neji would be aware that Orochimaru simply wants to steal their eyes and both would still join him, displaying the two’s desperation, yet the former does so to avenge the family he loved so much while the latter does so in order to be free from the abusive family he was born into. Not to mention the already-existing contrast between the Hyuga and Uchiha, with the former having white eyes that grant greater insight, and the latter having black eyes that blind the user the more they are used. However, I understand Neji abandoning his village over merely his father dying may seem petty to some, so I would make his life more tragic by giving him a mother and sibling who also would have died in order to protect the Main family, and I would showcase some moments of Neji being tortured by the Main family and having his brain destroyed to give him more of a believable reason to leave the Leaf (much like how it was shown in the Hyuga Sisters specials).
Hinata was introduced as the heiress of the Hyuga and the very apparent love interest of Naruto, as a girl who wanted to improve herself for her own sake in order to no longer be considered weak by her father and to gain confidence in herself.
In this AU, Hinata would be the main heroine, not Sakura. However, despite this Hinata would not be part of Team 7 and the team formations would remain as they are. Saura would still be part of Team 7, but as a side character, since she her potential is really only one of a side character anyways. As a character, Hinata’s bonds with her team-mates is severely lacking. Perhaps the most neglected Team in terms of bonding and interaction, I feel that this team really could have used more moments to display their bonds. Unfortunately, Kishimoto tends to ignore any good potential moments to do so, so we hardly ever get this team ever bonding or interacting, even when the opportunities are there. Kurenai to Hinata was a lot like Naruto’s “Iruka”, given that she took her in after Hiashi chose to stop training her, so I feel a bond between them should have been written in a similar way. She’s essentially a mother figure to Hinata, given she seemingly has no mother. The last time we even saw all four members together was back in the chunnin exams. And even then, they barely interact or bond with each other. Fun Fact: There is never a SINGLE on-screen time where Kiba, Shino, or Hinata have actually spoken to kurenai personally or face to face.
Now, above I mentioned how Kishi fails to utilize any good potential moments to develop this team, so I’ll list of these moments and how they should have been handeled as we go along, and here’s one right now. In the Chunnin Exams, Kurenai’s flashback of meeting with Hiashi should have been prolonged a page or two. After Kurenai left the building and saw Hinata with her saddened face, the two would walk out of the Hyuga compound, and afterwards, we would see Hinata trying to hold back her tears as she begins to tear up, with Kurenai showing a sympathetic look as she puts a hand on her shoulder in an attempt to council her. End flashback. Since Neji would have gone to Orochimaru in this AU, Hinata would replace Neji in fighting Kidomaru, displaying all the skills and feats he did during that fight to showcase that she truly has gotten stronger since her resolve to do so in her fight against Neji. When Naruto leaves the village with Jiriaya, rather than having Hinata hide behind a pole, have her go up to the two, and say her fair wells to Naruto. Yes, something like this may be simple, but it would be very impactful for Naruto who has never had much love in his life before. This would also show Hinata has also emotionally strengthened, along side her fight with Kidomaru showing her physical strengthening.
Oh, and I would add that EVERYTHING in the Hyuga Sisters specials would be canon, from Hinata and Hanabi playing together, to Neji being tortured, to Hinata losing against Hanabi on purpose, to the straining and mending of Hinata and Hanabi’s relationship, and to Hanabi seeing Hinata off to the war. I would of course, have this play out gradually across the series rather than shoving it altogether.
Sasuke & Sai Arc
Like I said, Neji’s issues would however be resolved much earlier than Sasuke’s. The ideal part I see this happening would be after Gaara walking away from the darkness, it would be Neji’s turn to do so, taking place after the Kazekage Rescue Arc. This in turn means I would greatly alter the Sasuke & Sai Arc, to the point that the Sai in the title would be removed and instead become the Sasuke & Neji Arc. In fact, I’d like to go on a bit of a tangent to explain why I think this would be a good idea. Sai, I feel, was a very, VERY unnecessary addition to the already large cast of characters Kishimoto was juggling at the time, especially considering he was introduced as a temporary replacement for Team 7. I think I recall an interview where Kishimoto said that the sole reason Sai was introduced was to have another Sasuke-like “cool” character in the series, and this is reflected in his design. Yet, when Sai failed to gather a fan following, he was abruptly thrown in the trash bin right after the same Arc he was introduced in was over. Given that this is the same author who said that, when he found out people disliked Sakura, his solution to the problem was to draw her prettier instead of focusing on her character development, this isn’t surprising. Sai was a very arbitrary addition to the series’ cast and, outside of his abilities, which easily could have been given to other non-Leaf Shinobi like Karui during the 4th Wrld War upon their introduction to the series in order to actually give the other countries some more credibility in terms of movesets, Sai provides nothing new. As such, I see no reason why a whole Arc should have been dedicated to such an unnecessary and useless character. The Sasuke & Neji Arc would have the same basic skeleton of Team 7 gaining intel from Sasori about Orochimaru and heading off in an attempt to save Sasuke. However, since Neji would be involved as well, much like in the Kazekage Arc, Team Gai would tag along with Team 7, as well as Hinata, who would act as Team 7’s third, temporary member instead of Sai.
Speaking of which, when Naruto is off trying to recruit a third member for Team 7 and runs into Team 8, more specifically Hinata, it should last longer and be used for more than comedy, make him notice her changes, make him interact with her, have him say that he’s missed her or something along these lines to indicate that she’s close to him, and then have her join as Team 7′s temporary member. Team Gai would also need a replacement with Neji missing, so this would be an appropriate why to introduce Yamato, I think, and so Kakashi would also join on the mission, because it truly made no sense for Kakashi to not freaking show up in the Team 7 reunion at Orochimaru’s hideout. While I can’t exactly explain exactly how it would all go down, I believe this scenario of of Team 7 & Team Gai tracking down Sasuke/Neji would be a good opportunity to strengthen Lee and Neji’s rivalry that unfortunately had an early death. During this Arc, Lee and Neji would fight one another in a manner similar to Naruto and Sasuke’s fight at the Valley of the End. This fight would also be used to display Neji’s long-lost status as a genius, with Neji having figured out a way to open the Gates using Gentle Fist, since they are Chakra Points after all, and would fight Lee in this manner. I imagine Lee and him arguing throughout the fight with Lee trying to win him back, though how exactly a conversation like that would go is not something I’ve really thought of. However that may turn out, Lee should fail, as I think it would be appropriate for Naruto and Hinata to be the ones to win him over instead of Lee. Naruto since he would have already attempted this in the Chunnin Exams (and in this AU, it would have failed) and since he’d be marrying his sister, it would make since for Naruto and Neji to grow a bond between one another through this ordeal. Hinata, of course, because she is part of the Main family that Neji hates so much. I could imagine Hinata showing intense humility to Neji, bowing her head to the ground and promising to change the Hyuga’s system for his sake, and that she would train as hard as she could in order to gain the position within the clan in order to do so. Something along these lines, and a good beating or two, and Neji would give in and agree to return to the Leaf. Naturally, this would mean Neji would leave Orochimaru without him removing the Caged Bird Seal. Upon returning to the Leaf, since it wouldn’t have still happened in this AU, Hiashi would confront Neji about the truth of Hizashi’s death. I think Neji walking out the darkness in this manner would be much better for his character than what happened in canon. See, with Sasuke, he became good of his own accord, while Neji became good after realizing their was no reason for his hatred. It would be like if Sasuke only became good again after finding out his family wasn’t killed and were off living in some isolated, hidden village. It takes away from the significance of the person moving past their hatred if that hatred was unwarranted in the first place.
As such, I would have Neji overcome his hatred and then learn the truth about Hizashi, not overcome his hatred BY learning the truth about Hizashi. And of course, this wouldn’t even be possible in this AU, since, as I said above, I would also give Neji a dead mother and sibling to strengthen the reason for his hatred.
Immortals Arc
Not much involvement with the Hyuga here. All I’d do is have Team 8 be seen attending Asuma’s funeral. We saw Ino, Choji, Konohamaru, Kakashi and nameless fodders there, yet for some reason, Kishimoto thought it wouldn’t make any sense to have Team 8 be there too, to support their teacher who just lost her lover. But Kurenai became nothing but decoration for Shikamaru, not even being her own person anymore.
Again, minor change to the canon that would have meant a lot. Another moment regarding Kurenai would be when Naruto & Shikamaru met her when she was leaving the hospital. Something as simple as drawing Hinata there with Kurenai, maybe say helping her carry her belongings, would have helped display the bond between the two. Itachi Pursuit Arc
During this Arc, Neji would act as Team 8’s Jonin leader due to Kurenai being out of commission. This would help demonstrate Neji’s aptitude as a leader and show us why Neji truly deserved to become a Jonin above the rest of his generation as opposed to just making him a Jonin off-screen and calling it a day. During this Arc, I would have Neji and Hinata run into Deidara while searching for the Uchiha Brothers and have them, not Sasuke, take out Deidara. Now, I know Sasuke fans may not like the idea of Sasuke’s already massive screen time being compromised, but here me out. First off, Sasuke has more than enough fight scenes to display his abilities in part 2 such as with Itachi, Ay, Bee, Kabuto, Kaguya, and Naruto, so taking one away from him in order to do justice to other underdeveloped characters is not something I want people complaining about since this is in fact the sensible course the manga should have taken; balancing the fights and character development of the case instead of focusing on a small handful. Of course, Sasuke could easily have this screen time compromised by having him fight some lackey of Orochimaru’s while forming Taka or whatever. Second, the entire Sasuke VS Deidara fight primarily revolved around two aspects, the Sharingan’s insight and Sasuke’s ability to defuse Deidara’s clay, both of which Neji/Hinata could replicate with their abilities. It doesn’t need to be said, but the Byakugan would have provided as much insight and even beyond the Sharingan’s against Deidara’s abilities. Being able to see his land minds, being able to tell Deidara was hiding in his Clay Bird (which Sasuke couldn’t), being able to see the nano-bombs from C4 Karura, and so on. In terms of defusing his bombs, Neji and Hinata would have no trouble doing this as it has been stated that the Gentle Fist is capable of destroying Chakra-based substances, which Deidara’s bombs are made of, by injecting the substances with Chakra, which we see Neji use against Kidomaru’s spider web’s and Kisame’s Water Prsion. On top of that, we know that Hinata has Lightening style, and granted, that may have been something Kishimoto simply decided upon on a whim when writing up the 4th Databook, assuming it would appear here, it would allow Hinata to deal with Deidara’s explosives. With all that said, I think the two Hyugas would have been a very well-suited match up against Deidara. I feel that all the K11 should have gotten at least one major fight in Part 2 and another during the War itself, and this would be Neji and Hinata’s main battle to display the improvements in their strength as well as their now-mended familial bond. After their fight with Deidara, the two would reunite with the rest of their squad and attempt to catch up to Itachi and Sasuke, only to fail like in canon.
Pain’s Assault Arc
With Neji’s appearance during the Pain’s Invasion Arc, I would keep him out of the village with his team like it was in canon. The one thing I’d change is dedicating perhaps 3 or 5 pages to showing him with Hinata, Hiashi, and Hanabi after Nagato reviving everyone in order to further display his relationship changing with his family, since if Neji left the Leaf, the little family moment we see during the end of Part 1 naturally wouldn’t have happened, so this would act as a replacement moment of sorts. For Hinata’s confession, what happened in the anime should have happened in canon, pure and simple, as the way the confession was played out would be far more impactful and emotional, both to viewers and to Naruto. It does a great job at displaying Hinata’s resolve and emotions and even gives her more credibility as a fighter through her tanking multiple Almighty Pushes and managing to break some of the Black Rods. A final example of a wasted opportunity to develop Team 8′ bonds is also once again in this Arc: Hinata’s “Death”. Much like with Team 8 not being there for Kurenai when Asuma died, Kishimoto finds it fit to have a frog, a random ANBU, Sakura, and Team Gai to be around Hinata rather than her team mates to be there to show worry over her. Of course, then there’s the infamous NaruSaku hug. What should have happened here? I think you all know that the answer is obvious: Have Hinata be the one who hugs him. Not only would this show Hinata has come out of her shell, but considering Kishimoto admitted he was only ever trolling NS with moments such as these, I find it disrespectful for NS fans, NH fans, the pairings themselves, and the three characters involved to do such things. He basically ruined the dynamics of the characters just to piss off and laugh at his fans. Not to mention, even if this wasn’t romantic in nature, as a shonen, most people will see even the smallest hints of romance between a guy and girl as something significant, which needs to be put into consideration.
Kage Summit Arc
Neji and Hinata would also go on to play a important role during the Kage Summit Arc. As we know, the Cloud attempted to steal the Byakugan from the Hyuga which ended up leading to Hizashi’s death in order to save Hiashi. As such, upon hearing of Naruto wanting to head off to confront the Raikage in order to plea for Sasuke, Neji would insist on tagging along with him for his own personal matters, with Hinata joining the two. Upon the Raikage speaking of wars breaking loose if they keep killing each other, Neji, not Yamato, would be the one to remind them of his father’s sacrifice and how Neji himself had to suffer because of the Cloud’s selfish ambitions. This would provide character development for Neji in showing how he’s willing to swallow his anger and rightful revenge against those who wronged him, displaying the cool-headed nature of his we only ever hear of in databooks. I would also add in perhaps a page or two of Neji and Hizashi bonding to further the impact of Neji holding back on seeking revenge against the Cloud. Hinata’s role would revolve around Ao and the Byakugan he stole from a Hyuga. As said above, the Caged Bird Seal in this AU would make it so that Branch members could never have their eyes stolen, so the Hyuga Ao would have stolen his Byakugan from would have to have been from a Main member. Specifically, the Hyuga would be Hinata’s own mother, who we’ll call Hinowa. Again, haven’t thought of much details on how this would work out, but we could say get a flashback of Hinata and Hinowa showcasing tender moments between the mother, daughter, and father. With her being killed by Ao, it led to tension between Hiashi and Hinata due to the grief both felt at her death, and would lead to Hiashi becoming more strict with the Branch family due to them failing to protect Hinowa. This would later lead to Hinata confronting Ao about the eye of her mother. when Ao realizes who the eye belonged to, Ao suspects that Hinata will attempt to retake it, but, like with Neji, for the sake of the alliance, Hinata will back down, explaining that there is no time to worry over long-dead people when the ones currently alive are all in danger of dying. This would give her character development like Neji, displaying her ability to look at the grand scheme of things and act as a proper shinobi. I have to say, I love how two plot points related to the Hyuga were handeled by non-Hyugas, one that involved Neji’s own father and one that involved the eye power the Hyuga were so keen on protecting, they invented a whole slavery system. Gotta love Kishimoto. Anyways, after Naruto comes back from the Kage Summit and talks with the K11 about dealing with Sasuke, he leaves, saying he’s going to get some ramen. At this point, he should have been joined, or have invited, Hinata to tag along with him. The ‘date’ wouldn’t even need to be seen, just a simple request from Naruto for her to join him and the two walking away together. This would also fit in nicely with Hinata’s flashback of Naruto in Chapter 540 of him smiling at her.
World War Arc
Moving on to the war, I would have liked to see at least one full fight from Neji and Hinata respectively against Edo Tensei summons, and here are the ones I think would have worked the best. First there’s Muu. This would be a minor fight for Team 8 alongside other Shinobi, so it wouldn’t be a one vs one fight. I think the Team 8 would have been well suited for this fight due its sensory abilities in the Byakugan, Insects, and sense of small, though they would only play a support role in this fight and the main fighter would be Oonoki. Second, Hizashi. This would be a minor fight for Neji, lasting only one full chapter. He and Hiashi would battle against Hizashi while conversing with each other and there being flashbacks in a similar manner to what happened with Team 9 and Asuma. After this, Hizashi would be sealed away after saying his goodbyes to his brother and son. Third, 3rd Raikage. This would be a full fight for Neji, and a one on one at that. Gaara, Naruto, and Sasuke went on to face multiple Kage-level ninjas during the war, and since Neji was introduced as being on their level, this would continue in this AU. Outside of the obvious strained history Neji would have against the Cloud in general, which would make it a fitting fight, this clash would display the power of the Gentle Fist in a proper manner. The Gentle Fist was said to bypass all exterior defenses and go straight for the untrainable inner organs, and seeing as how the 3rd Raikage had diamond-hard skin, even tanking a Rasenshuriken, this fight would be PHENOMENAL in displaying the usefulness and deadliness of the Gentle Fist Style. Finally, Kakuzu. A full fight for Hinata. Like with the 3rd Raikage, Hinata fighting an opponent with diamond-hard skin would display the Gentle Fist’s process in bypassing such problems. I also see it as a well suited match since it could further display ability of the Gentle Fist to channel chakra through mediums in order to harm the user such as Kakuzu’s strings. The fight would also be good since we could see Divine Rotation and Gentle Fist being used to combat elemental techniques.
Ten Tails Revival Arc
Upon the arrival of the alliance, after Kiba teases Naruto about Hinata, have him look back and smile at her. Again, this may seem like something small and insignificant, but small moments like this do build up. Now there’s two ways to go about handling Neji here. Either kill Neji, or don’t kill Neji. Let’s go with the darker alternative first. As you all know, Neji’s death was very badly handled, however, with all the development he would receive in this AU Part 2, him dying here would be more than satisfying. But him dying to wooden spikes when he could use Divine Rotation would not be satisfying, So how would he die? As you recall, I stated above that Neji would have learned how to use the Gentle Fist to open the 8 Gates without training for it, since, as a genius among the Hyuga, Neji should have been given the honor of furthering and enhancing the Gentle Fist Style though his talent, and I think this is a good compromise. As such, Neji would be the one to use the 8 Gates, instead of Gai, to fend off Ten Tails Madara, and would die in the process rather than Naruto saving him. Second option, Neji lives through this. Instead, have Hiashi take Neji’s place as dying in Chapter 614 and have Gai also die from using th 8 Gates against Ten Tails Madara. Bit of a tangent, but I want to explain why Hiashi and Gai dying would be a good idea. If Ino and Shikamaru’s parents were killed off to display the seriousness of the situation and to provide character development for them, no reason Neji/Hinata and Lee’s parent (figures) shouldn’t suffer the same fate. I think this is reasonable for both Hiashi and Gai. For Gai, I don’t think anyone will argue that him dying would have been the better option for his character. Kishimoto even spent time giving him a final flashback during his grand “final battle”, even saying his final words to Lee and Lee becoming composed enough through the words of Gai, Minato, and Gaara to accept Gai’s decision. All this only to have him live through it with a broken leg, which I’m certain was a last-second decision anyways. Hiashi dying would also be good for both Neji and Hinata’s characters. Obviously, since he would be part of the old system of the Hyuga and the leader at that, him being killed off would symbolize the system being done away with, though that’s not to say Hiashi would be opposed to the system changing per say. It would also make way for Hinata to replace her father as the head of their clan after the war, and would showcase to Neji that his father, Hizashi, wasn’t alone in willing to die for the sake of their comrades. Hiashi dying would also show how he’d changed from a selfish, self-absorbed person who would be willing to destroy the brains of his own family to being a man willing to die for others. Cue in 615 as normal. What does Neji contribute to the rest of the war? Well, against the Ten Tails, I wouldn’t have him do much and instead keep it as it is, focusing on Naruto, Sasuke, Bee, Kakashi, Gai, and the 4 Hokages. However, its with Kaguya that I’d bring back into the bigger picture. Now, as for the Girl Friend Comment and the CPR, just as it was with the hug, I would replace Sakura with Hinata in these situations. Again, some may argue that these moments were not really significant, but again, like what I said with the hug, this is a shonen manga, so any implications of romance are often treated very significantly and should be considered as such.
Kaguya Returns Arc
I think Neji should have fought alongside Naruto and Sasuke against Kaguya instead of Sakura, Obito and Kakashi. As such, there would be three Six Paths Seals: Sun, Moon, and Earth, and in turn, Hagoromo and Hamura would have a third sibling, who we’ll call Hinode. Sasuke should keep the Moon Seal, but the Sun Seal would be given to Neji, since it fits with his surname, and Naruto would be given the Earth Seal in order to symbolize how he’s meant to unify the people of the world under peace. Instead of it being Hagoromo alone that meets the trio, Hamura and Hinode would show up as well to give the seals themselves, with Naruto receiving his from Hagoromo, Sasuke from Hamura, and Neji from Hinode. In terms of lineage, I would alter it so that the Senju and Uchiha come from Hagoromo, the Hyuga and Kaguya come from Hinode, and the Shinobi of the Moon come from Hamura (in other words, Hyugas aren’t Hamura’s descendants). It would definitely be a fitting end to Kaguya; the bloodlines that she gave birth to would be the same ones that would seal her away once again. Far more fitting than what we got. Since we’ve got Neji dealing with Kaguya, Hinata would stay out of the picture like she did in canon, and this is because she will be getting her own time in the Last. However, one thing I’d change is to have Naruto go meet her as she comes out of the Mugen Tsukyomi.
The Last
The Last was a pretty well-done movie, though there is ONE thing would change about Hinata’s role in it.
For Hinata’s role, we should have seen what powers Hinata gained from Hamura, say, unlocking the Tenseigan as well, after all, she has both needed requirments, Byakugan and Ootsutsuki Chakra. After gaining Hamura’s Chakra, Hinata would have gone on to fight Toneri on a 1 on 1 with Naruto out of commission due to Toneri absorbing his chakra, and thus would save the world from the moon’s terror on her own. With Neji being alive here, he would join the Hanabi Rescue Team and assist in his cousins rescue. As such, at least one scene should have the Hyuga Trio interacting as a family, either before Hanabi’s kidnapping or after her rescue.
Boruto
What role does Neji play here? Well, we haven’t seen much of the series so far, but assuming Bolt ends up being a Naruto/Neji mix down the road in terms of fighting style, I don’t think Neji having children would be needed with Bolt and Himawari around, since it would be redundant to do so. If he did have a child alongside Bolt/Himawari, it would have to be with Tenten, and the child’s fighting style would have to focus on their usage of weaponry and space-time techniques like Tenten instead of the Byakugan, since that would be the Uzumaki Siblings thing, though that’s not to say such a child shouldn’t have the Byakugan. Irregardless of whether or not Neji ends up married, I think he should be the one to train Bolt over Sasuke. Not only because Neji is more of a “Piccolo” to Naruto than Sasuke, since the latter is more of a “Vegeta” to Naruto, but also because Bolt is named after him, the fact that the two are related, and the fact that Bolt would have the Byakugan from birth in this AU. As for Hinata, of course, I can’t say for sure at this point in time, but assuming she isn’t the leader of her clan in canon, which seems to be the case tbh, she would be in this AU and we would see the Hyuga finally being united under her rule. We would see that the Hyuga Clan as visibly changed, with new borns no longer being branded with the Caged Bird Seal or even the existence of Main and Branch families. If Hinata, like Naruto, is in a high possession with plenty of responsibility, it would add far more believably to Bolt’s story of feeling neglected, especially with Naruto being able to make Shadow Clones.
Some final random thoughts
I also want to remind everyone that I wrote all this down without even making Hinata part of Team 7 OR adding any additional Story Arcs.
Ideally, I would want Sakura out of Team 7 and Hinata in her place, or if we’re being generous, a 4-man team to allow Sakura to stay. In such a case, MOST of what I wrote above would still go down the same way, say perhaps for a few changes in the Sasuke & Neji Arc and more interaction between Naruto and Hinata, as well as with Hinata and Sasuke.
In terms of story arcs, like I said, I tried to stick to the canon line as much as possible, but if I were to add new arcs, I would add 5 more mission-based arcs for Team 7 (Naruto/Sasuke/Hinata), with the Chunnin Exams acting as a middle point.
>Prologue Arc
>Land of Waves Arc
>Land of Lightening Arc - This arc would act as a sort of prelude to the Hyuga Affair, with it being subtly hinted at through Hinata. In terms of the main threat, I would have it be that some of the Six Paths tools were stolen by a gang of thieves, who would act as the main villians, and, as allies, Kumo requested assistance from Konoha.
>Land of Earth Arc - The main villain in this arc would be Deidara. It was said that Deidara joined Akastuki at 16 and he is 19 after 3 years in Part 2, so the timing for this would be perfect. Team 7 would go to the Land of Earth on a more mundane missions, say something simple like an escort, but would eventually get caught up in Deidara blowing the place up with his bombs and are thus forced to deal in repelling him.
>Chunnin Exams Arc
>Konoha Crush Arc
>Tsunade Search Arc
>Land of Water Arc - A Team 7 + Team 8 mission (fyi, if we’re assuming Hinata to be in Team 7, Sakura would be in Team 8). An arc that deals with slightly delving into the mysteries of Akatsuki’s origins after their initial introduction through Itachi and Kisame, as well as further delving into the anti-Kekkai Genaki mindsets present in Kirigakaru and how Mei would deal with them. The missions itself would deal with rumors of Akatsuki being in the area, with Team 7 & Team 8 being sent as a reconnaissance unit ONLY, but unfortunately getting caught in bigger problems due to Sasuke and Hinata’s eyes. This in turn would give focus to Sasuke and Hinata’s bloodline limits during this arc.
>Land of Sound Arc - A Team 7 + Team Gai mission (sans Neji, who would be replaced by Kiba because I like Kiba). This arc would act as one final push for Sasuke to go towards the darkness through some encounters and inciting from Orochimaru and his lackeys, and would deal with Anko taking Team 7 to Otogakaru along with Team 9. As such, it would also delve into Anko’s backstory and relationship with Orochimaru as was done in the anime. The mission would naturally be a stealth mission to gather intel, though it would largely end in failure.
>Land of Whirlpools Arc - A Team 7 + Team 10 mission. This would involve retreiving some Uzumaki relics left abandoned within these lands, and would act as slight foreshadowing to the Senju/Uchiha conflict and delve into more of what the Uzumaki’s society and abilities were like. Of course, the Konoha ninjas would run into trouble with opposing forign ninjas also being after these Uzumaki artifacts.
>Sasuke Retrival Arc
>End Part 1
In this manner, we get PLENTY of Team 7 development to justify Naruto and (in this case) Hinata’s love for Sasuke, develop other countries gradually rather than exposing them ALL AT ONCE during the war, more gradual build up to Sasuke’s turn to darkness, more development for characters like Mei, Anko, and Deidara, and more development for future key elements such as the Uzumaki Clan, Kekkai Genkais, the Sage tools, the Hidden Sound, and the Akatsuki.
Part 2
>Prologue - I woudl dedicate some 7-10 chapters to deal with Naruto just meeting up and hanging out with his friends, because for the love of all that’s holy, I still can’t process the notion that Naruto, who Kishimoto wants us to believe values his friends, wouldn’t go seeing them upon returning, especially when he himself craved friendship due to being alone. It was, to put it bluntly, extremely out of character for Naruto to just walts around and accidentally run into his friends rather than actively seeking them out.
>Kazekage Arc
>Sasuke & Neji Arc
>Jonin Exams Arc - Another tournament arc in the same vein as the New Chunnin Exams filler, with all the K11 taking part outside of Naruto due to being a genin and Neji due to also being because he left Konoha. I would also include Fuu in this arc as a prominent character much like it was done in the New Chunnin Exams filler, and develop her character thorougly in order to create more of an impact upon seeing her killed off by Akatsuki. Heck, just make it the same, that filler was great.
>Immortals Arc
>3 Tails Arc - Another filler made canon. This arc is arguably the best filler arc in the series, delving into Orochimaru’s experimentation methods and results and giving the k11 plenty of screen time. Likewise, it would
>Itachi Pursuit Arc
>6 Tails Arc - Again, nothing more than a filler-made-canon, and like with Fuu, giving us exposure to Ukataka before killing him off at the hands of Pain would strengthen the readers’ hatred for Akatsuki, especially with Pain himself showing up in the next arc.
>Pain’s Invasion Arc
>Five Kage Summit Arc
>World War Arc
>End Part 2
A perfect story, if I do say so myself. Well actually, there’s still some few non-Hyuga related things here and there I’d change about the series, but those are pretty minor and I’ve already talked too much, so I’ll stop now.
