3 and a half years ago, I drew this traditional poster for Underverse (which still is #1 at most notes on any of my art posts!). I've gotten back into Undertale and Underverse again in the past week, so I decided to do my first ever redraw! Although, a more accurate description would be a remake. It's crazy being able to compare my art from January 2021 to now.

same basic preface, though a lot is different. if you're a fan of both undertale and clone high there will be a lot of connections LMAO

i plan on making a full fledged game (or comic) about it so stay tuned for like 6 years

Transcript: (Spoiler for underverse s2) Underverse Season 2 is genuinely my favorite media of all time, out of everything I have consumed in my life. The fight scenes are honestly the best I have seen because of the unique message (mostly) all of them have. 0.6 is has the message of Cross figuratively and literally fighting his nightmares about him not deserving forgiveness, and him defeating that, and the speech nightmare gives at end is so good. 0.7 Part 1 has my favorite fight scene from a story perspective because it's you see Fresh, the joke character, outwit both Ink and Error while teaching Ink and the audience about taking care of yourselves broskis. Fresh is actually seen to have parasitic traits besides the physical one, as he recognizes Ink and errors weaknesses and exploits them to gain an advantage because he knows he isn't as strong as either but he is smarter than everyone and FRESHINK IS SO COOL GUYS LIKE FRESH POSSESSES INK AND HE GETS 5 CHARAVTER SHADES OMG. 0.7 part 2 has my favorite fight visually. Fatal is animated BEAUTIFULLY and he doesn't have a textbox and instead his words are across the screen jumbled up like the comic. His voice is so cool and glitchy, like how is he this cool. The gasters interaction is so cool like dang. 0.5 doesn't have a message and is honestly the most forgettable I'm sorry. The themes and messages from each fight scene makes the fights way better because it's not slamming 2+ action figures at eachother for no reason than conflict and you need a spectacle. There is a clear reason and motive and message for each one. Cross and dream VS nightmare is about Cross finally having someone who genuinely cares about him and gives him the strength to fight his nightmares figuratively and literally, Fresh vs Ink and later Error is about Fresh telling ink about his mental issues and that he needs to take care of himself before anyone else and how his weaknesses are very exploitable, and Gaster Vs Xgaster is about the fear of Xgaster having about uncertainty, which is about Fatal, an imperfection and something he hates fighting his creation and "friend" ink. he's all a mix of canon/fanon/headcanons/scenarios in my head @.@

i think at first he's the silent cold type, does not trust easily— but if you do get to see under that shell, trusts you enough to get to his soft side, he's a caring guy ! a silly goofy guy, fun dude, will try to cheer you up—

though... this guy has a lot of anxiety, i imagine 💀 he needs a hug. a place where he can be vulnerable, somewhere he feels safe to be in. just... look at him. he looks like the kind of guy who can't even rest his damn shoulders, always on guard for anything.

i want to see this guy peacefully sleeping without a worry in the world. he deserves that at least. i think.

Although he had a lot of similarities with Underswap Sans during XTale, Cross throughout Underverse became more like his polar opposite. He's an aggressive, introvert and hostile, with selfish behaviors from time to time, being who also shows howsoever no concern for those that aren't close to him, as he had no problem harming other people to reach his goal. Cross would resort to violence even to the slightest problem, seeing as he punched Dream twice despite only being offered help because of the guardian's interference in his business.

Despite his cold self on the outside to strangers, Cross has a soft spot for those who he cares on the inside, since he fell into grief for losing his home and family after obliterating them, and resorted to hunt other universes to blindly "bring them back". His main trait that also represents XGaster is his lack of trust in others because of the countless wrong people he put his faith on. However, even with his attitude, Cross never showed any sort of malicious intent like Nightmare or Error, only longing for his universe and desperately trying to fix his mistake.

Some personality traits were also obtained due to XGaster's careless behavior with Cross and XPapyrus when they were younger. They were shown little to no attention by their parental figure, and Cross seemed to be the most afraid of him out of the 2 brothers, trying to be as obedient as he could.

I suggest you still do try to read through the wiki though !

Geno HAS to be like my favorite sans ever hands down I fucking LOVE aftertale (I think that's what it's called lmao) and while I don't remember much abt fatal error I always found his design like super super cool and like ahuduhfhdjhd

I literally love Geno so so much he deserves so much happiness forever and ever and he's also so epic and badass when he needs to be but he was also so silly this ep I love himm

I also just love this series so much just because of the sheer quality and effort going into it, it looks fantastic, the sound design is amazing, and while the story is a little confusing it all makes sense and it's just so. My god. This episode was awesome too. This series, and all the bopping undertale music remixes are the only things from that fandom I will never regret.

no one knows when or how these two became friends at all. like it's kind of known that they met a couple years back at the same function but no one knows how they actually managed to get along enough to be considered pals

it gets to the point where they actually do kind of see each other as their weird cousin that they pull stupid shenanigans with (read: arson)

^half-joking, DD is canonically Psychic's forever bestie and Void will always come second to that.

if he had to choose between them, Psychic would pick Dearest in a heartbeat. Void is aware of this and is only mildly bitter about it.

Void is no more close with Psychic than he is with Radi or the Space Gang. they don't really have any emotional investment in each other's lives.

however. they do understand each other in a way that no one else does.

the others have noticed how separated Void and Psi's friendship is from everyone else's. they don't really know what to make of that.

Psychic is the first one outside of BF and GF to figure out that Void is a black hole.

he doesn't bring it up by himself for a long time. Void doesn't want to either, so it takes a long time before either of them address it.

but when they finally do, it becomes very clear that Psychic is not going to tell anyone. he's not going to see Void any differently. not that he thought much of the guy before but this isn't something that's going to affect that.

Void is glad but doesn't like. appreciate it the way one would. he's just as whiny, just as self-absorbed as before.

but this is the point where he and Psychic come to understand each other a little better.

Psychic doesn't actively try to hide his interests, but he never bothers to bring them up either so Void actually has no idea what he does outside of read and also kill people probably

Void has no clue what working for the Dearests entails and he doesn't care enough to ask

meanwhile Psi knows practically everything there is to know about Void. not that Void has much going for him beneath the surface /hj

Psychic mainly sticks around because he finds Void's character interesting, not out of any genuine care for his not-cousin

Void hangs with Psi mostly because Psychic is smart and funny, and in case he ever provides anything Void could use against the Dearests. gotta weed out that competition ykyk 💅 ✨

if Void was Sans in Underverse season 1, Psychic would be Frisk.

Psychic is dangerously loyal to the people he cares about. we see this primarily with the Dearests. not with Void.

Void shows loyalty to no one. he'd drop any of his friends if he felt he had to, even the ones he enjoys the presence of slightly more.

(with the exception of Jet. nothing could force Void to abandon Jet.)

but maybe if you gave these two time and also enough character development... 👀

Psychic is gaslight. both of them are gatekeep. Void is girlboss.

Reading some comic strips and previous things I wrote, I think it's important to comment, it's a warning, my English isn't the best, especially writing, I use Google translate most of the time I speak Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, so certain sentences and writings may have expressions or even some commas out of place.Generally I write the texts of the strips in a normal file, then I translate and organize the subjects to finally put them in the strips. I have finally finished this piece! It took me 2 weeks! It was so much fun to work on and really educational, although I'm really excited to get a drawing monitor soon. There are just so many things that would've been so much easier to create if it had been digital. The right hand was measured to perfectly match the left, and the Overwrite button had to be completely uniform. I used my ruler so much. 😂 I'm really, REALLY proud of this piece.

Why yes I did happen to see it! X’D I can’t even fully describe what I’m feeling, I just know I feel so humbled and honored and thankful that Fatal gets to be included in something I’ve loved and looked up to so dearly for years now.
