dunmeshi was a rly fun read but i feel like it got really dumbed down in the last quarter after everything got revealed, which is sad, bc i really enjoyed the characters and the themes, but it felt like such a slog to get thru until the end bc it felt like it was just one dramatic speech (usually from laios) to the next, with the characters frequently repeating long established info like the reader is too dumb to connect the dots themselves. which is kinda annoying in a manga geared towards adults.

Also when I listened to the 1st eps of tw1 I was thinking that the writers purposefully show us that Romana was kinda forcing Leela to do stuff for her even though she didn't wanna to. And I thought "oh that's interesting! Even her friend sometimes uses her as a tool and kinda fails to see that! I wonder how they doing to explore that!" and then it was dropped and barely addressed in TW.

So I'm glad that War Room kinda addresses those subjects and explores the way the Time Lords treat Leela.

i don't like how cruel war room is to leela, but i love that that's the angle the boxset is taking, especially in freme, bc like, it's what gallifrey has been doing to her the whole time. trying to make her into something she's not or use her as a weapon. in s1, she's just an alien, a stupid alien who can never be part of ~real~ gallifrey, even if romana tries to tell her otherwise. bc romana is guilty of it too. the love is there but so is treating her like she's Special. and in war...? well, leela's useful. leela's an animal or else a creature who understands it and is therefore useful. but is there really anyone in the whole universe who sees her as a person first?

so I think Anne rices canon introduction of “through Science™️ vampires can conceive children with the help of DNA 🧬 , but they will come out as genetic clones, literally like identical twins but they r ur child, and lestat has a canon clone son” is a stroke of unhinged world building genius that is greatly underutilized by the fandom! I also think the vampire chronicles fandom is rlly missing out on some cringe fandom trademarks (like fandom ocs, ridiculous aus, stuff like that) bcus of the lawsuit thing probably. So anyway, I made the change I want to see in the world, and I have a genetic clone fan child oc 🙏. inspired by Armand’s canonically paternal personality and nurturing tendencies and soft spot for children, I like to think that way way post canon (around modern day) Armand and Daniel decide to Start A Family, and go through the process lestat did of conceiving a clone child with a surrogate (through armands dna), and they have a son (clone of Armand) named Ivan (after Armand’s father, I’m sappy) ! 🥰🥰 . It’s so silly I know, but I think having the opportunity to raise a human child and getting to give him and watch him live the mortal life he constantly envies and hoped to be able to provide Benji and Sybelle (before it was stripped from them) would be like, rlly good for Armand, and definitely I could see him in later canon wanting to pursue having a child with Daniel bcus of this unresolved grief. The clone layer, as ridiculous as it is, adds another dimension of sappy bcus not only will Armand get to live out the catharsis of giving a human child the fulfilled human life he never got, he will also get to see *himself*, or an almost too literal embodiment of his inner child, get to experience what he never did, and live that happy and safe childhood that Armand was deprived of. I think watching his son who looks just like him grow up and become a man while Armand is eternally frozen as a teen would be hard for him, but still healing and important.

So in my heart, post canon Armand and Daniel have their shit together enough to healthily (tho imperfectly) raise their clone son Ivan, who lives and dies a mortal. Ivan is the most spoiled child to ever live and he has a lavish playroom that is practically a house, fifty iPads, probably like ten ponies, etc etc. I imagine since he shares so much of Armand’s dna he strongly carry’s a lot of his traits, such as autism and strong hyper fixations. And I like to think he’s a little bit of a brat like Armand was as a child🙏 especially since his other dad Daniel does little to discourage those tendencies 😭. Ivan is a screen addict, a model train addict, and a Wolf Kid. He grows up to be the freakiest, strangest, long haired big bearded 5’6 ginger man at the gay bar. As a toddler Armand dresses him like a tiny fancy little man bcus he won’t have any son of his committing any fashion crimes, but unfortunately for Armand Ivan takes after Dad-niel in the fashion department and by the time he’s able to dress himself he wears wolf themed t-shirts and cargo shorts everyday 💔💔

Daniel is rlly naturally good with kids which is incredibly sexy and romantic to Armand. He’s the fun dad 💀 Armand is a little too strict and a little to over protective bcus of how trauma based I imagine his parenting would be, and daniels laid back, comfy and understanding energy helps level that out. When he’s a teenager Ivan goes through a rebellious emo phase and Armand and Daniel have to spend all of their energy desperately trying to ensure Ivan doesn’t tap into his addiction gene or his strong susceptibility to inheriting his father’s personality disorders 💀. He is very doted on and very loved, he is given more care and attention than any other child would be capable of receiving 😭. Armand is convinced he’s a child genius and will definitely cure cancer and become a world leader, so he tends to parade him around like his prized possession that everyone needs to know is incredibly special during Vampire Family reunions or whatever goes on post canon. ivan is not allowed to interact with Most vampires, except for Uncle Louis, who finds it emotionally difficult to be around children 😭 and Uncle Lestat (only under careful supervision of Uncle Louis), who loves throwing Ivan around like a ragdoll and telling him embarrassing facts about Armand 💀

Some Godzilla babies I decided to doodle cause I think the potential of Godzilla having multiple kids is underutilized.

So I drew out all the known instances of Godzilla having kids- not counting Zilla’s countless kids since only Godzilla in name (tho I’ve heard the show redeems Zilla).

So we got:

Minilla introduced 1967 as the adopted son of Godzilla (potato baby)

Godzilla Junior introduced 1993 and is adopted by Rodan, Godzilla and a researcher (?) named Azusa.

Daughter of Godzilla introduced in 1988 in “Scooby-Doo and the Ghoul School” and dubbed as “Godzina” by some fans

Lilin from scrapped film and short story published 1979 called “A Space Godzilla” and the only canonical biological child of Godzilla.

Godzooky from the Godzilla show by Hanna Barbara in 1978. Relationship to Godzilla is unclear, but they’re described as “relatives” and Godzilla seems protective of him so it’s up to interpretation. Leaned a bit too much into the “odd duckling” with him tbh.

But 👏 give Godzilla multiple kids. I want to see it, it would be a new dynamic to explore for him.

this is a 100% slash gen question but how do you stay motivated to keep playing genshin after this long? i first got it back when it was still pretty new, around the second ever banner, and played it for a good year but the more things they kept adding the more overwhelmed it started to make me. i do miss it tho, so i wonder how you manage to still play it so consistantly

In all honesty for most of my time playing genshin i've been obsessed with a handful of early game characters (kaeya and his ugly brother and childe mostly, and they're still my faves) and largely didn't give a shit about everyone else, so up until like halfway through sumeru i was playing like. Waiting for kaeya/abyss and khaenri'ah related lores to drop mostly. Like in all honesty especially during inazuma it was dire i didn't give a shit about 90% of the cast and the environment was unpleasant to explore too 🧍‍♂️ but after getting past the samsara part of the sumeru archon quest i started getting genuinely more invested in the storyline. When i got to fontaine i expected it to be a bit of a filler region honestly but the writing quality has been steadily increasing after inazuma imo and the conflicts have become more engaging too... Like i think the main issue for me in inazuma was that they kept trying to get me to give a shit about some npc whereas several of the playable characters felt underutilized and their presence kinda pointless. From sumeru onwards they've started writing the playable cast as more fleshed out and interconnected to one another which is something that i was really missing from early game, and this is even more apparent in fontaine's writing too where everyone has some kind of beef going on with everyone else (it was really fun imo how everyone in mondstadt knows each other because it's a small town and i wasn't really hoping to see that degree of characters being all up in each other's business again in later regions so fontaine was a nice surprise in that regard).

As for your question honestly i think that. In order for genshin to be enjoyable at some point you have to allow yourself to not give a shit about whatever doesn't compel you and instead try to focus on what you do like, for example i kinda hate doing spiral abyss so I don't really touch it unless I'm pressed for primos and instead run around and explore a lot. For story quests i prioritize ones for characters I'm already invested in and leave others for whenever I don't have anything better to do. I'm an insane completionist about this game but it's genuinely fine to focus on the parts you personally find more engaging. I guess sumeru was annoying because long as fuck world quests gate the exploration of certain areas, but fontaine is MUCH better in that regard and the world quests feel much more manageable.

Also tbh i think the increasing relevance that khaenri'ah/abyss and celestia-related stuff has both in the world quests and in the main story along with more harbingers making on screen appearances also contributed to keeping my interest active because that's what I'm mostly invested in other than kaeya-centric stuff 👍

ChinAme is surprisingly underutilized and underrated in this fandom and tbh I blame is all on Yao’s characterization in the anime 😭

By "ask me about SDRA2 characters", I'm gonna assume you mean literally sending a question through the ask box, so yes. I would like to know your thoughts about these characters. Even if it is barebones.

Tbh, I'm most interested in your thoughts on Mikado and Syobai. My favorite assholes, tbh. Hibiki and Shinji, too. (I would ask about Teruya, but I feel like through the few times we interact and your recent DRA character opinions that I have yet to finish reading, we've gone over how badly Teruya was underutilized and hurt his character through the writing to the point that we might as well be beating a dead horse. Let's let that man rest.)

Yes i did meant via inbox stuff👍 + my thoughts on Teruya are all on the other post because he is the same dude so I don't separate the Dra him from the Sdra2 one or something like that

Onto the characters asked, i gotta be honest man i do not have a semblance of care for Syobai. I didn't care about him back in the day when i was super into Sdra2 and i still don't give a fuck about him now, this is quite literally all i can say about this character opinion wise.

Mikado is in this same imense indifference limbo too but leaning towards me kinda liking him a little tho that's mainly because;

A) I have a friend who liked this guy immensely when we were younger and because It liked him so much and talked about and roleplayed as him all the time part of that liking sorta rubbed off onto me and i still think he's a little neat because of that friend.

And B) I do really like the twist of the mastermind being revealed at the very start of the game and through the whole thing you just have this guys everyone fucking hates that keeps annoying them all the time. Fucking hilarious and i do like how it was executed in game with Mikado even going as far as abusing his mastermind powers at times just to fuck with people (Thank you so much for killing Nikei Yomiuri, i should stan him solely out of that fact-) + I'm really glad there wasn't any "actually the real mastermind is this other character!" Twist at the end like some people back in the day used to theorize Tsurugi was the real mastermind because i feel like that would have just ruined both of these characters for me.

And about Irl Mikado,, eh, no opinion really. I know they're different people but i really just tend to think of Ai Mikado whenever someone talks about him, it's not that i forget the real one, is just that i have less thoughts on him than the few ones i got for the Mikado we see through most of the game.

Now onto the nicer people in this ask, Shinji actually used to be one of my favorite characters in Sdra2 alongside Emma and Kokoro when i first got into the game and while I don't like him nearly as much as i used to i still have a soft spot for this big guy and i like him quite a bit, tho that's mostly just general liking than for any specific reason + I'm certain that his death was what started my burning hatred for Nikei, so there's that.

And Hibiki is in a similar vein as Mikado but instead of the liking coming from specific friends liking the character a lot in Hibiki's case it comes from sorta the fandom as a whole? I'll see fanart of her it people discussing her character and I'll be like "Hibiki :]!!!!!" And i do think she's a pretty interesting characters so yeah, i like her quite a bit.

Final thoughts:

Ok, so I had a good time. I think if you really do go in this with almost ignoring the books you will like it. A lot. I think that’s why the ending lost me bc the min i was like “BUT IN THE BOOKS...” it doesn’t matter tbh

I also think if you go looking for a faithful adaption you will hate it. Like they pay a lot of fan service with the crows! And when the scene hits it really does give you a lot to work with. But then it has these moments that don’t always work, it’s an exciting season. And i think that’s why the crows were brought it because there’s a lot of politics in TGT and it’s not always fun. It helps with the world building but not exactly interested in reading about Ravkan politics lol

The fight scenes were some of my favorites. Amita/Inej’s specifically.

Emotional scenes! GDI Freddy fucking gave a 12/10 star performance. Daisy is another standout actress. Amita, Kit, Dani, Jack all great too. I wasn’t gonna bad mouth the crows. I wish the pacing didn’t feel rush to earn some of the more bonding moments. Luke is so funny, disappointed that he wasn’t given more because he works so well with the show. Archie and Jessie did a solid job.  Would have love to have seen more Lewis and Anna... they were fantastic when they were given something. Paddy did great too. Sujaya was... um I hate to say, but severely underutilized. Like I know she had good moments but it so often felt like the writers just didn’t give her a lot? Idk imo All good performance, wish they had spaced things out tho.

Went to see Dynamite (and subsequently the taping of Rampage) on 12/27 and it was such a fuckin blast!! Some thoughts and ramblings under the cut

I did NOT expect to see a 4v4 match between the Acclaimed+Scott Taylor vs Daddy Magic+the Gunns/Bang Bang Gang, and it was just the preshow! And I’m here scratching my head bc pol would’ve eaten that up if it were live! What the hell. But I’m glad I had the opportunity to chant “Scissor me Daddy Ass” and “Ass Boys” with the crowd.

Swerve v Mox v Jay White was so much fucking fun. My love for Swerve and Mox specifically went up because of their back and forth. Jay kinda felt like the odd one out, and I do feel he’s been underutilized/misused recently, but that only opens up the opportunity for a comeback for him. The crowd absolutely loved Swerve, and so did I, bc we all could not stop chanting Swerve’s house lol. Kinda sad he didn’t win but Mox v Eddie is so appropriate for their history and stories, I cannot wait

And speaking of, Danielson v Eddie was soooo tense. Like, the chants for Eddie won at the end but being in the crowd, I feel like support was split between them. I really didn’t know who’d win or who to root for bc I felt like they both had a decent shot. But at the end of the day I sided with Eddie bc 1) he lives in Orlando now and 2) he’s 100% the underdog in this situation and he’s long overdue to win a title like this in AEW. I’ve also grown to really love Eddie after looking back into his past work and interviews, he’s so real. I really hope he wins this tournament, he needs this.

I don’t have much to say about the Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara stuff, because I don’t really care about them? They don’t really compel me tbh but it was fun as fuck to shit on Don Callis and chant “Shut the Fuck Up”, even tho I saw families with young children in the crowd looking uncomfortable (along with the other times there were chants with curse words) but come on…what did y’all expect in a pro wrestling show

And finally. Guys…I love MJF but this devil storyline is not hitting. I can’t blame them bc I’m sure plans got really screwed up when Adam got injured, but they could only do so much to try and salvage/adjust the plotline. But even then, I wasn’t a huge fan of the masked devil angle to begin with. The whole plot with Adam and MJF started bc of their match and then a tournament, and telling a story through that is much more compelling and entertaining than “oh no who are these mysterious people trying to get to MJF behind the scenes”. I also believe a HUGE part of MJF’s face run is because of Adam and their chemistry, and without him, it’s not as effective, you can just feel Adam’s absence throughout this whole thing. Which just goes to show MJF still needs to improve more on standing up by himself as a face, but I believe he’s got it in him. There’s still glimpses of face MJF being good by himself but it’s not where it could be right now bc…the writing isn’t very good currently lol. Still glad I managed to record his entrance into the ring and chant his name with the crowd, but I’ll have to wait for another opportunity to see a good, real match from him live
