Sooo after reading a lot of anti-harem fics I got a fun ish idea that I have yet to see.

A story where reader/ (Y/N) leaves the skeleton's manor early and the bad girlfriend ends up dumping all of them. Like wouldn't it be kind of satisfying see the main character (reader, y/m whatever) ends up getting into a great and healthy relationship with another monster (A great chance for rare pairs shippers!)

Sure it's fun to see all the skeletons get redeemed and rescued BUT man it'll be kind of nice to see their mistaken judgement get blown up in their collective faces.

I have this idea (And y'all got my permission to use it, pls tag me) for a short anti-harem where the MC either leaves the house early or gets kicked out because they're waaay too deep into the lies of the bad girlfriend. MC ends up getting a job with the ribbit clan (The ones that ran the undertale hotel and shop in snowdin) and ends up getting adopted into the clan.

Bonus points if the nice cream vendor is related to the bunny clan and be a possible love interest, I don't see a lot of x reader ships with him.

A year later when collage/school or just a time skip is done, the bad girlfriend leaves all the skeletons high and dry while MC is having a great time. Bad Girlfriend was in it for the money, free house and food. She could be an anti-monster for more drama but that's optional. The point is that she got she wanted and decided to leave, then disappear while loaded with cash she took from all the skeletons. Perhaps bad girlfriend just got tired from all the clashing personalities and having to keep up with 8 or more relationships.

It's only then do they all realize the lies they got entangled in, but they really REALLY fumbled the bag with MC, having caught glimpses of them around town with their monster love. Now MC wants nothing to do with the skeletons, the only exceptions would be Undertale Papyrus, Underswap Sans and maaaaayyybbee SwapFell/Fellswap Papyrus (Since they were the most passive in the abuse BUT ON REALLY THIN ICE) MC would not tolerate the rest.

Also also while I love the idea of ME writing this, I don't have a good grasp of all the different skeleton aus and personalities :(

A long time ago, two races ruled peacefully over the Earth: HUMANS and MONSTERS. One day, a terrible war broke out between the two races.  After a long battle, the humans were victorious. They sealed the monsters underground with a magical spell.

Many years later… In the year 201X, a small child scales Mt. Ebott. Legends says that those who climb the mountain never return. 

Seeking refuge from the rainy weather, the child enters a cave and discovers an enormous hole. Moving closer to get a better look... the child falls in. 

Now, our story begins.   

So, we all know generally how underswap goes with the role swaps and personality swaps but I still want to put out the premise for my dedicated take on it.

The original AU follows partial personality swaps which is my favourite type so I'm adhering to that, but I'm taking that concept and twisting it to make it work for me and create something hopefully more unique.

This underswap is along the lines of a timeline that diverged so much it’s basically regarded as an alternative universe, starting with Frisk being born in the place of Chara.

In terms of characterization, while parts of their surface level demeanor and attitude match their role and counterpart with some core personality traits swapped, things like their relationships, individual preferences, insecurities, skills, and abilities generally stay intact (if only adjusted to account for the changes an AU like this inherently brings). Some extra add ons from the original au with also be kept. This lets the new parts that are swapped be expressed through the lens of their UT selves that they retained, allowing new scenarios and interactions to take place.

Not every swap is one to one with the original AU. Some additional characters, enemies, and items have been added in. The Underground itself has experienced some changes. Canon story beats are present but new storylines have also been built around them, as I also employ my personal headcanons into the mix.

This does have a full story in the works behind it and most of the details for the personalities have been ironed out. I hope to communicate it over time with those who take an interest in it.

The post will be updated as more details are revealed.

An alternate take on UnderSwap

Frisk swaps with MK. Frisk is a human disguised as a monster. MK is a half human half monster (idk)

Chara swaps with Asriel. Chara is still the first fallen human but their soul controls a rose and they go by Rosie and with enough souls they can recreate their old body. Asriel was able to become a ghost with his determination and guides MK

Toriel swaps with River Person. Toriel ran away after Asgore disappeared and hides on the river. She wears a hood but it doesn't conceal her identity too well. River Person now goes by her true name Arial. She still has a shadowy face but it's in the shape of a skull. She was the former wife of Gaster but when he took the mantle of king and made their children part of the Royal Family she didn't think she could handle the responsibility of a queen. Her shadowy face is a result of an experiment done by her and Gaster. It doesn't hurt or anything just a mild annoyance

Napstablook swaps with Training Dummy. Napstablook posseses a punching bag esque training dummy and is rather passive and shy. Training Dummy is really bland and desires companionship. Very vanilla boring dude and is a writer but always writes bland uninteresting stories.

Sans swaps with Alphys. Sans is the Royal scientist hired by his dad Gaster. He feels like he didn't really earn his position but plays along nonetheless. He's studying quantum physics and is on the brink of discovering resets. He's a chill laid-back guy outside his lab and usually wears a lab coat, slippers, underwear, and shirts with science puns. Alphys is the former royal scientist who quit to live with Undyne in Snowdin after Undyne had trouble adapting to Hotland. Alphys isn't particularly interested in science anymore. She blames herself over every mistake. Instead of making puns she makes obnoxious pop culture references and wears a faded Mew Mew Kissy Cutie shirt that's 2 sizes too big.

Undyne swaps with Papyrus. Undyne never joined the Royal Guard but aspires to but Papyrus is hesitant to let her join because she has trouble controlling her emotions. She's brash and quick to fight but Alphys insists that she must use puzzles on the human first to avoid damaging them too much. She doesn't really like puzzles so usually she has Alphys make them. She prefers to cook ravioli but also likes spaghetti. Papyrus was named Captain of the Royal Guard by his dad. He sometimes feels as if he's not the best man for the job as he prefers pacifism and thinks that some other guard are better fighters but still appreciates the attention he gets as the captain. He is always ready for a scrap and is eager to fight but not actually hurt his foe. He wants to be taken seriously but is just a bit too goofy. He eventually gets fed up of chasing you and initiates the battle. He's one of the more determined monsters.

Temmie swaps with the Annoying Dog. Temmie is a weird cat dog thing that likes stealing things and annoying Undyne. She's alot stronger than she looks. Annoying Dog is a "Cool Dude" who runs a shop for charity donations in Waterfall. He'll eat anything and everything. He speaks in a nineties style.

Snowdin Shopkeeper swaps with Gerson. Bunnie (as shes known as) is the former captain of the Royal Guard. She was known as the sword of justice and taught Papyrus everything he knows. She retired early to raise her family. Gerson is an old tycoon. He sells weaponry for the Royal Guard and personal friend of Undyne.

Nice Cream Guy swaps with Grillby. Nice Cream Guy serves ice cream Goofy Goobers style and his homemade chocolate syrup is a personal favorite of Alphys so much that she drink it without anything else. He's a bit in over his head though as his parlor only got popular recently after Alphys added heaters around Snowdin. Grillby runs a small food truck for fast food. He travels the underground looking for buisness and always knows to stock Sans up with ketchup and hotdogs as Sans always orders way too much.

Mad Dummy and Mew Mew swap with Mettaton. Mad Dummy is now called Maddaton and was given a body by Sans who used the scrap pieces from Alphys old machine and at first they only hade one form their Boxer form but Sans gives them an upgraded TRANS form after she comes out as trans and this form was an old mech Sans found in Alphys old lab. Mettaton is a ghost possessed a metal training dummy that is overprotective of their cousin but is less mad and more over dramatic. He later posseses a masculine anime robot that sans was making as a gift for Alphys but he threw out after he found out that she is into a different anime. He adores this body and thinks that it's the real him.

Muffet swaps with So Sorry. Muffet runs an art club for spiders and isnt a very good artist (she's still a kid though so lay off). She also has a large sweet tooth. So Sorry reveals his true name as Hatter. (Every swap I make with Muffet ends up being the Mad Hatter but this one makes the most sense because he has his association with hats). He likes to make food art. Its all in the presentation. But he needs funds to help continue his passion and was paid a high amount of money to exterminate you.

Burgerpants swaps with Bratty and Catty. B&C are the very grumpy employees of Madatton and aren't very good at their jobs. They take their anger out by being passive aggressive to their customers and pretending not to be able to do their job....though their act isn't too far from if they actually tried. BP is a cool dude hanging out in the alleyway who totally doesn't sell drugs (you're not a cop are you). He's unemployed an kinda a hippie. He refuses to "work for the man and be another cog in the machine"

Gaster swaps with Asgore. On the day of his children's deaths Asgore was no where to be found. It seems that when he tried to absorb one of Alphys attempts of an artificial soul and it destroyed his body. Now he's all alone.... Gaster is the king who took over after the disappearance of Asgore. He aims to steal seven human souls and use them to become a god. And he doesn't care what he has to do to achieve that goal.

Chapter 10

Not long after, Blue got home.

In the qiet of the house he was able to pick up the faintest vibration of a purr. It came from Red's room.

Blue got up the stairs and carefully opened Red's door.

Sans knelt in front of the bed, gently petting Red's skull and recounting stories from his past. Blue picked up the name 'Gaster' a few times. He remembered his own Gaster. In his world the Gaster-thing went a little different from Sans'.

When the door creaked a little in its hinges Red abruptly froze, going stiff as a board, stopping breathing and Eye Lights going out.

Sans was quick to reassure the vulnerable monster. He never ceased his gentle petting and murmured in a soothing tone. "It's okay, it's just Blue. We won't let anyone get close enough to hurt you. Breathe, Red. Slowly. In... and out... in... and out. That's it. You doing great, little Cherry."

Red paused again. Now for a different reason.

Slowly he moved his Eye Lights towards Sans and stared at him for several seconds.

"Where does tha' come from?"

He was absolutely not blushing his namesake.

Sans grinned a little sheepish. "What? Don't like the nickname? I can come up with something else if you want."

Blue took pity on Red and finally came over to the bed. "SANS, STOP FLUSTERING RED," he scolded. "HE CAN'T EITHER FLEE NOR FIGHT BACK. THAT'S UNFAIR. AT LEAST WAIT UNTIL HE IS BACK ON HIS FEET AGAIN BEFORE YOU START FLIRTING IN EARNEST."

Sans, gremlin that he was, just grinned unashamed. "But he's so cute when flustered."

Red spluttered and was unable to make any kind of response, before he eventually stuttered, "k-kay, cha-change a topic. Please."

Blue redirected his attention to Red. "I AM SORRY, RED. OF COURSE WE CAN TALK ABOUT SOMETHING DIFFERENT. WHAT DO YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT?"

Red took a few breaths to calm down and force the blush from his face.

"Da asshat 'ere," Red nodded towards Sans as good as was possible with his neckbrace, "tol' me 'bout dis world an' 'ow dey got outta Underground an' sh-... stuff. Ya both know mah story an' 'bout mah Underground, but i dun know shi-uhh... a-an'thin' 'bout da 'verse ya come from, Blue."

Blue beamed. He noticed how hard Red tried to not curse. He really apprecciated that. Then he took a moment to think about how to start.

"WELL, MY WORLD IS CALLED UNDERSWAP. YOU MIGHT HAVE NOTICED THAT MY MAGNIFICENT PERSONALITY RESEMBLES CLOSELY THAT OF THIS WORLD'S PAPYRUS." Red hummed to confirm he noticed and to show that he was listening. "SO, IN UNDERSWAP CERTAIN... 'ROLES' ARE... WELL... SWAPPED.

LIKE FOR EXAMPLE ME AND MY BROTHER, FLOWEY AND TEMMIE, UNDYNE AND ALPHYS, THE KING AND QUEEN, ETC. WE DON'T HAVE METTATON, BUT NAPSTATON, HE IS A FAMOUS DJ. FURTHER ARE FRISK AND CHARA SWAPPED, BRATTY AND CATTY WITH THE BUNNY LADIES, AS WELL AS MK AND ASRIEL, AND GASTER AND THE RIVERPERSON. AND BP AND THE NICE CREAM GUY.

SOME THINGS ARE NOT SWAPPED YET DIFFERENT, LIKE I DIDN'T MASTER THE ART OF SPAGHETTI COOKING, BUT ASSEMBLING TACOS. MY BROTHER DOESN'T DRINK A CONDIMENT, HE CONSUMES HONEY. AND HE SMOKES WHEN STRESSED OUT. WE ARE TWINS, WITH ME BEING THE FIRSTBORN AND, UNLIKE SANS, I AM NOT THE JUDGE OF MY WORLD. ALSO OUR SNOWDIN UNIT DOES NOT CONSIST OF DOGS, BUT CATS. WHEN I GOT HERE MONSTERKIND WAS STILL UNDERGROUND."

Red let all that information slowly sink in. "Ya say ya Gaster is swapped wi' da Riverguy? Does tha' mean in ya world da Riverguy fell in th' Core?"

"WELL, NOT QUITE. THAT IS ANOTHER THING THAT WENT DIFFERENT. GASTER IS MINE AND PAPPY'S FATHER AND ONCE WAS THE ROYAL SCIENTIST. WHEN WE STILL WERE PRETTY YOUNG OUR GASTER HAD AN ACCIDENT WHILE DOING SOME MAINTENANCE AT THE CORE. I AM NOT THAT GOOD WITH SCIENCEY STUFF AND WAS WAY TOO YOUNG TO UNDERSTAND ANY OF THAT ANYWAYS. HOWEVER, OUR FATHER DIDN'T FALL INTO THE CORE BUT STILL WAS EFFECTED BY IT. HE SLOWLY LOST HIS MEMORIES AND AT SOME POINT HE EVEN DIDN'T REMEMBER US. SINCE HE COULDN'T BE A SCIENTIST ANYMORE HE BECAME THE RIVERPERSON. OVER TIME HIS ACTUAL NAME BECAME FORGOTTEN BY THE OTHER MONSTERS AND PAPPY AND I MAY STILL REMEMBER HIM, BUT IT HURTS TO THINK TOO MUCH ABOUT HIM.

WHEN HE... FORGOT ABOUT US MUFFET TOOK PAPPY AND ME IN AND RAISED US AS HERS. SHE IS SWAPPED WITH GRILLBY IN MY WORLD, BY THE WAY."

"How did'ja get here?"

"WELL, WHEN WE GREW UP PAPPY TURNED OUT AS SMART AND SCIENCEY AS OUR FATHER AND BEGAN TO DIG AROUND IN HIS OLD WORK FILES. HE MADE OUR BASEMENT INTO A LABORATORY WHEN WE ACQUIRED OUR HOUSE SINCE MUFFET'S PLACE BECAME TOO SMALL FOR THE THREE OF US. HE BUILT THE MACHINE, BUT NEVER GOT IT TO WORK.

THEN CHARA FELL INTO THE UNDERGROUND AND WENT THROUGH SEVERAL RESETS. PAPPY STILL WORKED ON THE MACHINE AND ONE DAY WE GOT INTO A FIGHT OVER THAT THING. PAPPY WAS POSSESSED BY THE IDEA TO FIND A WAY OUT OF THE UNDERGROUND WHEN HE MANAGED TO GET THE MACHINE TO FUNCTION. HE DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING ELSE AND THAT MADE ME ANGRY, HE WASN'T EVEN LISTENING TO ME ANYMORE.

I WRESTLED THE WRENCH OUT OF HIS HANDS AND WIELDED IT WHILE I GAVE PAPPY A PIECE OF MY MIND. THE WRENCH SLIPPED THROUGH MY FINGERS AND ACCIDENTALLY HIT THE MACHINE. IT MADE SOME WEIRD NOISES BUT SINCE NOTHING ELSE HAPPENED WE DIDN'T THINK MUCH OF IT. THE NEXT DAY THE HUMAN RESETTED.

WHEN I WOKE UP I WAS IN SANS' LAB. AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS PAPPY'S, BUT THEN I SAW A FRAMED PICTURE OF SANS AND HIS PAPYRUS, AND KNEW SOMETHING WAS WRONG.

I UNKNOWINGLY HAD SET OFF SANS' SECURITY SYSTEM AND SUDDENLY HE POPPED UP RIGHT AT THE DOOR." Blue snickered before continuing. "WHEN HE SAW ME HIS EYE SOCKETS BECAME AS BIG AS DINNER PLATES. THAT LOOK OF UTTER DISBELIEF WAS HILARIOUS, LOOKING BACK NOW."

Red snorted. "Pfft, heh, wish i coulda seen dat!"

Blue grinned. "IT WAS, INDEED, A SIGHT TO BE SEEN. I WISH I'D HAD A CAMERA BACK THEN, BUT MY OLD CELLPHONE DIDN'T HAVE THAT FUNCTION ANYWAYS.

HOWEVER, TO MAKE VERY HECTIC AND CONFUSING THINGS SHORT, SANS AND PAPYRUS GAVE ME THEIR GUEST BEDROOM, PAPYRUS GAVE ME THE NICKNAME 'BLUE' AND SANS TRIED TO GET THE MACHINE TO FUNCTION TO SEND ME BACK HOME.

AS WE TOLD YOU SOME TIME BACK, HE ONLY MANAGED TO GET A READING ON MY WORLD. HE FOUND DUE TO MY MAGICAL SIGNATURE, IF I UNDERSTOOD THIS CORRECTLY." He shot Sans a questioning look, who just smiled his gentle, lazy smile and nodded confirming.

"THE RESETS IN MY UNIVERSE CONTINUED ON UNTIL TWO YEARS BACK. ACCORDING TO THE READINGS MONSTERKIND GOT TO THE SURFACE AND THERE HADN'T BEEN ANY MORE RESETS EVER SINCE.

WHILE WE FOLLOWED THE HAPPENINGS IN MY WORLD, WE ALSO DISCOVERED COUNTLESS OTHER UNIVERSES AND SANS STUDIED THEM, TELLING ME WHEN HE FOUND ONE THAT SEEMED PARTICULARLY INTERESTING.

OVER TIME WE FELL IN LOVE WITH EACH OTHER AND A FEW WEEKS AFTER PAP MOVED OUT I WENT INTO HEAT AND... WELL... SAPHY HAPPENED.

AND ABOUT TWO YEARS LATER I GOT PREGNANT WITH OUR LITTLE BIRD. BUT THEN I GOT HIT BY THAT CAR, LOST OUR LITTLE BIRD AND AM UNABLE TO CARRY A SOULING, BUT WE TOLD YOU THIS ALREADY."

Red hummed an affirmative again. "How lon' had it been since ya came here?" he asked.

Blue thought about it. "I THINK IT MUST HAVE BEEN... SOMETHING AROUND EIGHT YEARS BY NOW?" He looked at Sans for confirmation. Sans nodded slowly. "It's been seven years and ten months to be precise, give and take a few days.

Saphy's birthday is only a month away. She surely wants to invite her friends, meaning our house will be swarmed by literally a horde of little monsters. Plus some humans. Luckily you should be back on your feet by then, Red," Sans chuckled.

Red grinned. "Sounds like madness. Will be fun."

Then he yawned long and felt sleepiness seep into his bones. "Nap time, i guess. Wake me when it's time fer mah meds or dinner."

With that Red fell asleep, while Sans and Blue quietly shared some memories and began to make first plans on saphy's birthday.

“Come on Chara let’s go in!”, You said excitedly.

“Heheh oka-oof!”, Chara said walking then bumping into someone.

“*Sniff sniff*….*Sniff sniff* Someone smells pretty…and fruity”, said Doggo wearing his hood over his eyes again and waving his nose around then looking down, “You!”, he said pointing to Chara then picking them up

“Uuuh??”, Chara said confused.

“You’re what smells pretty, and you’re soft”, Doggo said smell Chara then heheh hugging them like a stuffed animal.

“Heheheh”, Chara said hugging back and patting his head.

“Hey doggo whatcha got over there?”, A familiar- wait….yup it’s Papyrus.

“Look guys, this little thing smell sooo pretty”, Doggo said showing Chara to Papyrus and…Nice cream bunny?, They smell like lemons and oranges~”

“Hiii", Chara said smiling and waving lightly.

“*Ring ring* Oh hold on I have to take this”, Doggo said putting Chara down, taking out their phone, and walking away little.

“Hey kid, meet my friend Hoodie”, Papyrus said pointing to Nice cream bunny sitting on the ground with something in his hand, “He don’t talk much”

“What is this cloud stuff and what’s that thing you both are holding?”, Chara asked.

“Oh we’re just vaping”, Papyrus said.

“Vaping?”, you both said confused.

“Means we’re breathing liquid turned into these clouds”, Papyrus explained, “Nothing too bad”

“Oooh”, you both said.

“Welp…I’ve got to get back to work before my boss shows up”, Hoodie said getting up, “See ya Pap”, he said walking.

“I got to go guys, Canine Unit is having a meeting that I can’t miss”, Doggo said, “Bye”, he said walking off.

“Huh? You’re leg okay kid?”, Papyrus asked.

“It’s fine, but it still hurts I admit”

“….Hold on…there”, Papyrus said healing Chara’s leg.

“Whoa…thank you”

“No prob, so you’re heading to the core?”

“Yea, Undyne is guiding me so I won’t get too lost”

“….Alright”, Papyrus said shrugging, “I think the lounge is empty right now, how about we grab something to eat?”

“Sure why not”, Chara said shrugging.

“Sweet, take my hand”

Oh no not this again….yoooouuu both aren’t use to that. *Shakes head* this place is empty, is it closing time?

“BY QUEEN TORIEL!!!”, you all heard Hoodie shout, “Papyrus, next time WARN me when you’re about to give me a panic attack!”

“Sorry Hoodie, I’ll make it up to you”, Papyrus apologized rubbing his skull.

“Yea yea”, Hoodie said walking to the ordering counter and into another room.

You aren’t sure if this place is a restaurant. You mean it is, but looks too homey to be a restaurant. Papyrus called this place the Lounge hmm, you asked Chara to asked Papyrus about it.

“This is the place you can relax from all the stuff happening here, I tell ya whoever came up with the idea was smart”, Papyrus said walking over to a couch and sitting down, “Sit with me”

“…..This couch suurre is soft”

“Yup, this is my second favorite place to chill”

“Why isn’t it your number one?”

“It’s not closer to home”  

“Figures”, you said.

“So….you’re journey is almost over huh?”, Papyrus said, “Whatcha gonna do after this?”, he asked looking at Chara.

“Well I was hoping Ms. Toriel could…uuumm”, Chara said nervously fiddling with their fingers.

“Come on, I’m not too judgy”, Papyrus said nudging their arm.

“Heheh…I was hoping we could be friends and she could take care of me like her own child, iiiff she doesn’t mind”, Chara said with a shrug.

“Heh, wow”

“Too silly?”

“No you are just…WAY nicer than the uh, other you”, Papyrus said leaning on his legs.

“…..”

“Sorry, I didn’t mean to bring up old wounds”, Papyrus said wrapping their arm around their shoulder, “I’m just glad that you’re nice compared to the previous one”

“Thanks”, Chara said holding their arm.

“Hm…mind if I tell you a story?”

“YEA…it’s not a sad one is it?”

“Naaah this is a one good”

“Okay”

Oh this you MUST hear!

“So I‘m a sentry in Snowdin forest, I sit out there and watch for humans”, Papyrus says, “It gets really boring, but fortunately there’s this HUGE locked door deep in the forest that’s perfect for practicing knock knock jokes”

“Does Sans ever catch you?”, Chara asked swinging their legs.

“Nope”, Papyrus said, “So one day I’m knockin’ like always and suddenly, from the other side, I hear a grown man respond”

“Asgore~!”

“Heheh you know it”, Papyrus says winking, “So I say, Theodore”

“Theodore who?”

“Theodore wasn’t open so I knocked”

“Hahaha”, Chara laughed and facepalmed.

“Don’t be, he’s happy you’re doing well”, Papyrus said taking his arm off Chara’s shoulder, “You know what would have happened if he hadn’t said anything?”

“You’d be sleeping at your sentry?”

“No…You wouldn’t be standing here right now”

“Heheheh you should see your face, *sigh* you know I’m joking right?”

Chara calmly got off the couch and walked out the restaurant, outside the Fun Center, and sat down still having a scared look on their face.

“Chara?”

“I’m…I’m just having some….really bad flashbacks”, Chara said curling.

“Like heeey human~!”, you both heard Catty say, “Whatcha doing out here?”

“Oh no…they’re sad”, Bratty said kneeling down and place her hand on Chara’s cheek.

“Catty you know what this calls for…right?”, Bratty asked looking at Catty.

“SHOPPIIINNNGG~!!!”, They both shouted happily.

“Like come on human, let’s go get you in some CUUUUTE outfit~”, Catty said leading her hand out.

“Hmm…I know a good color that will look good on you, come on”, Bratty said leading her hand out.

You totally agreed, even giving them a double thumbs up and a smile. Chara calmly took both of their hands and was gently pulled up by the very chatty Catty and Bratty, and MAN can they chat. They walked into the Fun Center and to the…store? This place has a clothes store? And a dance club?…AND AN ARCADE?! Plus the restaurant here too?! WHOA, j-j-j-ust WHOA!

Some Undertale headcanon names

This is just a quick little reference guide for my headcanon names for some of the unnamed/vaguely named Undertale characters. If you're reading a post or story of mine and come across a name you don't recognize, this might help.

(Note: these names are strictly my headcanons. I didn't get them from anyone else, and I won't make anyone go along with them.)

-The Snowdin Shopkeeper's name is Zoe (she looked like a Zoe to me)

-Burgerpants' real name is Bryan (same reason as above)

-The Nice Cream Guy is named Freddy (in reference to the founder of the company who makes Blue Bunny ice cream)

-Royal Guards 01 and 02 are named Tucker and Lance, respectively (the former because I thought it was a good surfer dude name, and the latter as a reference to the Elite Four dragon trainer from Pokemon). Please note that I came up with these two names before Deltarune and Lancer were a publically-known thing.

-The other Royal Guards in the game's code, 03 and 04 (the bug and the cat) are respectively named Edith and Brenda (that one's just a Billy Joel reference).

-Monster Kid's sister is named Tina (a pun on "teen", since Toby said Kid's name really was "Kid").

-The six human souls: Trish (Patience), Biff (Bravery), Iris (Integrity), Vera (Perseverance), Kevin (Kindness), and Ted (Justice)

-Reaper Bird's components are named Fantasy Froggit, Sir Gawhim, and Strabismus (the first one was a silly joke that someone made and I decided to go along with it, the second one references Sir Gawain, and the third one is another eye problem, like where Astigmatism's name comes from)

-Lemon Bread's components: the Moldbygg is a lemon Moldbygg to explain the first part of the Amalgamate's name, Aaron's brother is named Ryan (it's a reference to a Punch-Out!! character), and Shyren's sister is named Doughremi (pronounced do-re-mi), or Mimi for short (not only because she likes to sing, but also because if you bake certain kinds of dough, you get bread).

-Caveat to the above: Deltarune names Shyren's sister Shyra, but I already came up with my headcanon name beforehand, and I thought the two names were too similar. So in my headcanon, the sisters' names are Shyren Shyra and Doughremi "Mimi" Shyra.

-Caveat to the caveat: names being too similar is also why I usually don't give Mettaton's ghostly self a name in my fics (the one exception being my Underswap fic). I thought "Happstablook" was too close to Napstablook, and anything with "Metta" in it would be too close to his new name for someone who, by all indications, seemed to want to leave all traces of his old life behind.

...and that's about it for now. If I think of anything else, I'll add it to the list.

Toriel comes to terms that she too fucked up allot and was at fault for the shit that happened, and she and Asgore kinda reconcile at least so much that they can talk like fucking adults, like she will never forgive him for what he did and he will never forgive himself either, but they will at least become somewhat friends again at least, as I consider them originally been best friends before they got romantically involved and both miss it allot

Frisk eventually succeeds in getting Flowey up with them from the underground because there is no fucking way they are letting him stay down there in his own misery

Undyne and Alphys got the gayest and more anime inspired wedding of all fucking time on the beach

Burgerpants quits his job at Mettaton’s and ends up working for the Nice cream bunny, who I like to call Rupert, where Burgerpants gets his shit together properly and also finds love bc I ship that ok

Mettaton too gets like a proper realism check over the stuff he done and becomes a better person

Dogamy and Dogaressa gets a bunch of fucking puppies together and are so fucking happy

The royal guard do not dissolve but instead becomes the police force because there must be some sort of law enforcement for monsters after all 

Sans gets happier and more open about his issues and gets some therapy, all of them that needs therapy gets some because fuck you

Undertale

Alyphs:  Has a light pink, fluffy, smiling starfish that she has had since she was an infant.  She keeps it in a box under her bed for when she has a panic attack.  It really helps calm her down.  Undyne and Sans are the only ones that know about it.

Blue (Nice Cream Guy):  Had a tiny mushroom when he was younger.  He loved it so much it fell apart by the time he was barely out of his toddler phase.  His parents threw it away but at the time it was common knowledge that he had it. 

Grillby: Had a mobile he used to watch as a child.  After he outgrew it, it was put into storage.  He recently found it and hung it up in the back room of his bar.  No one knows just because no one ever goes back there.

Underfell

Frisk:  As a baby, they had a stuffed lion that they cuddled with.  It helped them when they felt nervous or scared.  They always kept it on their bed so it would stay safe.  But one day a rat got in the house and made its home inside the little lion.  Poor Frisk had no idea when they hugged their toy that the rat was sleeping in there.

Red: Used to have a teddy bear.  But when Boss got out of his infant stage Red gave it to him.  Boss still has the teddy bear!

Underswap

Chara:  They used to have one of those Ragity Ann type dolls.  It was broken before they fell into the underground but they still have a scrap of cloth from the dress.  They keep it in their pocket and are very protective of it.  No one knows why.

Felix (Burgerpants):  Had a stuffed bunny with long ears.  He kept it under the bed even as a child but just the thought of his toy have him comfort.  Only his mother knew about the doll and even now Felix keeps the bunny under his bed.  He pulls it out on tough days and just curls up in bed until he feels happy again.

Swapfell

Saferon:  Has a small stuffed husky dog.  He used to sleep with it every night until he was 12.  Then Raspberry found out about it and they got in a big fight over Saferon still having a stuffed toy.  He keeps it hidden in his pillowcase now.

Azriel:  Had a stuffed monkey that he could not sleep without.  if he ever couldn’t find it then his sibling wouldn’t get any sleep.  He would have them looking for it all night if need be.  Everyone knew about the toy but no one ever mentioned it.  Asgore still has it.

                           Chapter 39: Back and Forth conversation

30 minutes of shopping….

“Like it was was fun hanging out with you human”, Catty said with a bag full of clothes and accessories.

“Yes…we should hang out again sometime,…if that’s okay with you”, Bratty asked also holding  a bag of clothes and accessories.

“Yea, you look sooo cute in those Napstabot T-shirts~!”, Catty complemented.

“Hahah…thank you”, Chara thanked patting their cheek.

“Bratty let’s go home, put these clothes on, then go to the dance club~!”, Bratty said.

Bratty nod and they both walk off. Chara was starting to crave something sweet, you suggest going back to the Lounge because they sell something sweet. You just wonder what’s the opposite of a Starfait?

“Can I have a Starshake please?”, Chara asked putting their money on the table.

That answers your question. You look at the menu….oh my gosh, everything on the menu looks soooo delicious. A Starshake, a Hip-hop Burger, Legendary Guardian Panini, and….*long and slow gasp* Napstabot shaped…Pancakes…ooooohh you realllly wanna eat soome.

“Here you go kid”, Hoodie said handing Chara a Starshake.

“If you don’t mind me asking, why is your name hoodie?”, Chara asked before taking a sip of the shake.

“It’sss…short for…Hoodnini…”, Hoodie said looking away with an upset look.

“Oooh, what a neat name”

“You think so”, Hoodie asked calmly shocked and looking back at Chara.

“Yea! It’s unique, one-of-kind, and pretty cool”, Chara said listing with their fingers, “How did ya get the name?”

“It’s a pretty long story”, Hoodie said resting his arm on the counter and rubbing his neck with an embarrassed look.

“Hey Hoodnini, can we get some Napstabot Pancakes?”, a monster asked beside Chara.

“Hoodnini one Starshake please”, another monster said behind Chara.

“We’ll…talk about it later okay?”

“Sure”, Chara said moving out the way and out the Lounge.

“Hey Chara, follow me”, you said walking out the Fun Center.

You guided Chara to the alleyway by the Fun Center where number 1 and 2 are, you wonder how they’ll act with your Catty and Bratty’s personalities. You both see them quietly nodding happily to some music on the radio, then number 1 saw Chara.

“Babe, babe look!”, Number 1 said extremely excited shaking Number 2’s shoulder, “It’s a customer!”

“*Long gasp* You’re right!”

They scrambled to their shop counter dusting it off and organizing anything that could be on it and then stepped behind it telling Chara to look. Written on these cards says the name of the item: Candy Bag, Cowboy Hat, A Gun (unloaded), and a key you know belongs to Napstabot. In your mind, you can’t help but think this pretty handy made paper bag of candy is leftover candy from almost empty bags of candy left in from the dump….eek! You quickly advise Chara not to buy that one. They bought the hat though, good thing it wasn’t dirty. This not only made Number 1 and 2 happy, but they started to tear up when Chara bought their hat.

“Why are you crying?”, Chara asked concerned still holding the hat.

“It’s just…you’re our first customer whose bought something from us”, Number 2 said wiping his tears away.

“Yea, we like never get anybody!”, Number 1 said crying some more.

“There, there”, Number 2 said comforting Number 1.

“I don’t think having a store next to the Fun Center is a good idea”, Chara suggested.

“Yea we know”, Number 1 said wiping away their tears, “But we like, have this dream of owning a store of our own!”

“So we tried setting up a store here…to know how it feels”, Number 2 said looking down and rubbing their hand.  

“And we liked the feeling, so we kept at it”, Number 1 said.

“Awww”, You and Chara said.

“But…there was one time someone did show up here”, Number 2 said bringing their head up.

“Who?”, Number 1 questioned.

“Don’t you remember babe?”, Number 2 asked looking at Number 1, “It was that bunny fellow, the one who gave us the delicious panini”

“Oh yeeaaa, he was like suuuper nice doing that”, Number 1 said happily.

“Hoodini?”, Chara questioned.

“Yea!”, Number 1 and 2 said looking at Chara, “Do you know him?!”, they both asked happily.

Chara nods their head.

“Omg! Can you like…”

“Tell him we are very thankful for what he did?”, Number 2 said finishing Number 1’s sentence.

“Sure…uuum, what are your name’s?”, Chara asked walking off, putting the hat on, then stopping.

“I’m Sole”, Number 1 said pointing to themselves with their thumb cheerfully.

“And I’m Deuce”, Number 2 said placing their hand on their chest with a polite smile.

“Okay thank you”, Chara said jogging off.

Moments later in the Lounge…

“What, you talked to those two?”, Hoodie asked surprised.

“Mmm hmm”, Chara said nodding, “They said they’re thankful for what you did for them”

“R-really?”, Hoodie said calmly surprised, “…well…this…makes my suspension pretty okay I guess”, he said rubbing his neck with a bashful like smile.

“Suspension?”

“Oh right…I didn’t tell you about that didn’t I?”

Chara shook their head, Hoodini kindly told them before customers showed. He was a dj hired by Nastabot long ago for his dance club and he was a really good dj too, however, he met Sole and Deuce. They were hungry and were about to look through the dump because…Undyne wasn’t there for them the past few days. Hoodie took pity on them, so he snuck some legendary guardians in his hoodie. That explains the nickname. He got caught afterward and has been put on suspension for 2 YEARS?! Yikes!

“But it’s not so bad…I guess, It’s relaxing here and the customers aren’t a problem a lot of time. Plus I only have a few more months until my suspension is over”, Hoodie said with a relaxing smile resting his arms on the countertop, “Are they still doing the shop thing?”

“Yea, I bought this Cowboy Hat”, Chara said pointing the hat they wore.

“Huh…not half bad”, Hoodie complemented, “…If you don’t mind…could you tell them I’m…glad they’re okay, and…if they want a job I know the right place that gladly accepts new employees”

“Sure, I’ll be back”, Chara said jogging off.

Moments later in the alleyway…

“WHAT??!!”, Sole and Deuce shouted at the same time.

“Yea, what do you say?”, Chara asked smiling.

“I don’t know”, Sole said concerned, “I don’t wanna lose our shop”

“But on the other hand…we could use the money”, Deuce said with a thinking face and folded arms.

“Hmm…hhhow about…you save the money you’ve earned to open a new shop?”, Chara said shrugging”

“That sounds like…

“A GREAT IDEA!!!”, Sole shouted excitedly finishing Deuce’s sentence.

“We can use our experiences to know how the shop business works…

“And use the money to buy better material and build our shop!”, Sole said excitedly hopping and finishing Deuce’s sentence again.

They started going on and on about ideas and ways they can have their shop be made, it’s really inspiring. Chara didn’t bother interrupting their chat and listen with a smile on their face.

“TELL HIM WE SAY YES!!!”, Sole and Deuce said together.

“But, wait…where will we be working?”, Deuce asked raising his eye brows.

“Uuuuh, hold on”

“They wanna know where they’ll be working”, Chara said to Hoodie.

“At Nastabot’s music and clothes store”, Hoodie said with one arm resting on the countertop.

“Okay thanks”

“*LOOOOOOOONNGG GAASSSP* NASTABOT’S STORE???!!!”, Sole shouted extremely loud and excitedly jogging in place.

“Omg omg omg, we will TOTALLY work there!”, Deuce agreed happily.

“TELL HIM WE SAID YYYEEESSS!!!”

Back in the Lounge…

“That was quick”, Hoodie said seeing Chara walk into the restaurant again, “My guess is they said yes?”

Chara nods as an answer.

“Okay tell them show up tomorrow and they can get started”

“Yes, alright”

“WHAT, TOMORROW??!!”, Sole shouted surprised placing both their hands on their face.

“We need to get ready babe!”, Deuce said to Sole.

“Yea!”, Sole quickly agreed, “Thank you so ssoooo much cutie~!”, he thanked hugging Chara then running off.

“You’ve really helped us”, Deuce said hugging Chara, “Here take this key, you’ll use this better than we could. Bye”, he said handing Chara a key then running off.
