dudebros have orv wrong, it's not a solo leveling rival, it is a solo leveling lover! orv loves solo leveling, it loves level up with the gods, it loves regressor's instruction manual, it loves i'm the max level newbie!! it loves greek myths and korean history and psychology papers and chinese legends and ancient literature as much as it loves repetitive regression isekai cashgrabs!!! it loves the best AND the worst stories the world has to offer!!! it loves all the stupid trashy stories that are worth less than the bug under the soles of your shoes because even shitty stories can have meaning when it has a reader that loves it despite or even because of all its annoying shitty overused cliché repetitive tropes!! it owes its existence to those stories!!! that's the essence of orv, all stories are meant to be loved, if not by you then by someone!!!!

Just so we're all clear:
Plagiarism is taking the exact work of someone else and passing it off as your own.
It is not seeing something you love and choosing to create your own thing partially inspired by it.
Yes there's a line but like. Seeing a show about something and writing your own project also about that thing isn't plagiarism as long as you didn't directly take anything from the inspiration.

it’s really beyond me how subposting is still a recurring event in this hellsite — but i’ll say it once again: if you don’t like what i write or what i do in my own blog, then kindly leave or block me. mutuals or not, i won’t care a shit. you don’t go subposting or spreading hate. that’s highly immature behavior befitting a child :)
i don’t know if it isn’t obvious already, but i spent lots and lots of time rethinking while writing my fics. most of the time it takes weeks or months. whether i’m basing it on a manhwa or not, i spent a lot of time thinking and writing it—for months even—so if you don’t even read it and just label it as if i just plagiarized it in one go… it actually makes me so upset
just… be peaceful pls. if you don’t like it, then block me. it’s so simple if you think about it like a mature adult. unless you’re incapable to. thank you

this hgappened monthssss ago but im still kinda pissed about it ok so i wrote a fic about grain just grain others were mentioned but they weren't important and no where in my fic was there any shipping much less scarian (Im the no.1 scarian hater) but it was written after the first session of Secret life and so it like vaguely referenced it cause it followed grain through each of the seasons and after SL ended someone posted a fic "inspired" by my fic where it followed the same premise, same style, even copied down some sentences and paragraphs word for word exactly how I did
im still upset cause they added SL at the end of their fic, and added scarian into the fic and because of the ship their fic is more popular than mine!!!!!! I'm upset still!!!!!!!! so to author of said fic I'm hunting you down btw xoxoxoxoxooxoxoxoxoxoxo

A decade+ ago: "If it has even the slightest similarity to Pokémon I don't want it!"
Now: "Yeah I know this game straight up plagiarized designs and stole assets from Pokémon, but Pokémon ain't what it used to be and this game has guns in it, so who cares? Fuck the actual creativity that went into those Pokémon designs, the artists that made them are clearly just as bad as the company higher-ups!"

gaining all those new followers from plagiarizing poc and running them off tumblr you're a terrible person and i hope you rot
so this is another really heavy accusation that i take very seriously.
who is it that i've run off, exactly ?? if you are said person or know them personally, i would love to have the ability to speak to you/them one-on-one, like grown adults, so that we can clear the air or discuss whatever issue there seems to be.
i doubt that you'll respond legitimately but this has always been my stance on your issue with me, that has kept you coming back to, not only my main account but also my nsfw account, daily. sometimes multiple times a day. you've also never once given me any kind of definition on what it is exactly that i've "plagiarized" — which, again, leads me me to believe you're just choosing to be hateful for no reason ?? the ONLY reference that's been made in the last few weeks that this has been going on, is the love island bakugou concept, and if that's what you're still sticking by, then — again — i urge you to understand what plagiarism actually is.

i do respect that my field contains the sort of people who just don't show up on google point-blank but then you look them up in BILL and they've published quite a lot, some of it fairly recent, and it's all catalogued there, google just fundamentally does not care enough to index that stuff and he obviously has zero internet presence outside of that
i mean it's also deeply annoying. but like. good to know there are still professions in the world where you can Not Exist In Public while still somehow having your name attached to digital records?? how
also i always find it reassuring knowing that most AI plagiarism machines won't even be able to fucking find any of our work to copy it

wanted to drop in and say i absolutely love how long your fic chapters are!! it is such an integral part of your style of writing and is part of the reason why i love your stuff so much! i get so excited when a new chapter drops to sit and read through it all! don't listen to anyone who says otherwise, write how you want to write because it'll be well-loved and appreciated no matter what :)
Thank you!!! I will absolutely keep doing what I'm doing.
I think what bothers me the most about this bullshit is that fanfic is CREATIVE writing. There are very, very few rules. If you want to write a 100 word drabble? Great! Fantastic! You are valid and wonderful. If you want to write a 2 million word slow-burn where your characters don't meet until 500k words and don't kiss until 1 million? Great! Fantastic! You are valid and wonderful.
But there are people out there who seriously think that all fanfic has to look a certain way. Basically they want chapters that are 2-3k words, stories that are plot/action heavy & always moving, and ones that don't have lots of detail. That's a fucking terrible mindset. There is room for all styles and all people so long as those people are doing their own damn work. So that means no Chat-GPT and no reading a ton of other fics, taking bits and pieces from them, and regurgitating them into your own.
And yet so many folks on the Reddit forums have that mindset which is how you end up with posts like this:
Tumblr media
I didn't comment, but if I had, it would look like this:
"There is an audience for those kinds of fics. Signed someone who wrote a longfic that's 99% two characters talking and yet it's one of the most loved and well received fics in the fandom. CHARACTER STUDIES ARE VALID AND INTERESTING."
It's funny cause I never really imagined that this is the kind of writing that I would end up doing. Dumb, funny smut was easy and now that kinda bores me. What's fascinating is drilling down deep into characters' heads and writing in what's basically real time: minute by minute, day by day. Cause there's so many subtle changes that happen over the course of days and weeks and if you sit and build those changes piece by piece, you can tell a really beautiful and powerful story. And AGGN proves this.

Not to be a Fandom Old again but I am continuously fascinated by the things I see
Just saw a younger fan claim "everyone is stealing MY headcanons and not giving me credit for it."
When like. More than one person can think of something. More than one person can see the same thing in a character. More than one person can explore that idea. That's how fanon Becomes fanon.
And it concerns me how fandom has gone from collaborative to competitive.
