Seems like it's Zuko's turn with the brain cell. Iroh plays the dumbass a lot but he can't seriously be contemplating risking poisoning himself while he has zero resources.

"Oh it's a real legend" is a remarkably accurate statement when speaking of oral folklore. Real v. Fake legends are an actual thing!

Zuko actually managing to admit that he needs help! Or rather, that they need help. That's growth! Maybe that's why Iroh poisoned himself? Or maybe he's just having a dumb moment? Two consecutive dumb moments?

Do you think being unwanted in literally every country on earth including his own is going to be enough to convince Zuko that maybe his nation isn't so great?

Why is the science guy freaking out about curses?

Chong's necklace flowers keep drastically changing size depending on how close up the shot is.

Average fire nation soldier is superstitious. I bet they can use that. And this guy's hands are huge. Also those flying grappling hook chain things are, in my opinion, the fire nation's greatest combat advantage. Who needs bending when you have those?

The math-defying torches apparently work like strike anywhere matches.

Definitely watching this one on a CRT when I have the chance. Too dark otherwise.

Can you do that? Turn a map of the paths you've taken into a solvable maze? Don't you need to see all possible paths to solve a maze?

Three things: a) I like Song's voice actress. Very pretty voice, matches the face well. b) Zuko being terminally awkward when needing to lie is something that's been consistent since the third episode. He really needs to work on that. c) There's a whole world of visual storytelling in the fact that, when hastily required to look natural, Zuko defaults to parade rest.

I mean technically yeah, Zuko's dad is fighting in the war, but Good Lord are he and Song bonding over traumas from the 100% opposite directions.

Poor Appa is having a time of it this episode.

Sokka would rather die in a self-inflicted rock slide than hang with the hippies. That's a very Sokka thing.

The lighting here is beautiful. All warm and glowy.

Poor Song. It's borderline embarrassing to watch how wrong she is. But at the same time, she's completely right. The Fire Nation did hurt Zuko. But the Fire Nation is Zuko. But Zuko was hurt by the Fire Nation. Zuko's brain must be inside out right now.

Why is Zuko surprised by her burns? Did he think his nation took over most of the world by asking nicely? Seriously, did he?

It's good to finally see more burns. Well, not good, but logical. I think I ranted last episode about why I was so surprised by the lack of burns.

I'm with Sokka on this one. There is a (very limited) time and a (very tiny) place for singalongs, and this isn't it. Also I keep thinking that Momo is wearing an Adidas tracksuit.

How on brand is it that the city founded by think-outside-the-box badgermole wrassling innovators is now ruled by Bumi? Original thought, badass earthbender, giant murderous rabbit; he fits right in.

What's wrong with you is that you're 12. No one is smooth at 12.

According to the episode The Storm, the avatar does in fact represent hope to Zuko, but Song just can't stop putting her foot in it. Literally any other earth kingdom refugee would come away from an evening with Song feeling renewed hope, but she's unintentionally and unknowingly hit pretty much every one of Zuko's sore spots. This must have been a very frustrating evening for him.

In case we forgot that Zuko was the villain, he steals a horse bird. Iroh why are you ok with this?

Chong was right. All they did need to do was play music. These guys would probably kill me if I tried, but gosh they're so cute I want 5.

How many string instruments does Chong have stashed in his robe? His improv skills are top notch though.

You want me to believe that a couple of millennia of badgermoles rearranging things as they see fit has not altered the path of the crystals?

Appa's such a good friend. Settling in for a long listening session.

Do you think the hippies knew? Is that why they didn't want to go to Omashu? It would be totally on brand for them to know the whole time and not tell.

Final Thoughts

Well that was a hell of a bait and switch ending. Supreme goof A-plot, Zuko having his dearly held beliefs dragged through the mud B-plot, and then suddenly *BOOM* overarching plot.

So is this season going to be the 'step on Zuko until he's decent' season? Because he's got a long way to go.

Why was Iroh being so stupid in the beginning? Does he have a blind spot where tea is concerned? He made Zuko look like the reasonable one. That's quite a feat.

At first glance, Sokka got to shine in this episode, but actually it was Chong who was right all along. There was a real legend about a secret tunnel, the solution was to trust in love, both as Aang & Katara did and as Chong's group tried (love songs). And that kid WAS the avatar! Three for Three!

I'm still not a fan of Aang & Katara being involved romantically (mostly because they're BABY), but I love the way they related to each other this episode. Their interactions felt 100% natural. What tween hasn't put their foot in their mouth around their crush?

Someone give Appa a hug. You know what? Give Momo a hug too. He worked hard as a wolfbat early alert system.

Speaking of Appa, are his underside sections furry? Covered in short grey fur? Or are they hard grey armoured plates? Are they shell or skin?

I've noticed that animal noises come in three flavours in this show: Appa grumbles, Momo trills, or wolfbat hisses. Most animals make variations of these three.

Are we sure Song hasn't been hitting the White Jade herself? Those are pretty similar.

Poor Song is really crapped on this episode. All she did was be compassionate and she gets her horse thing stolen. It makes sense that she wouldn't try to retrieve her horse thing, both because she's too kind, and because it's just her and her mom against two fairly rough guys. If this is the season of Zuko improvement, how many more innocents like Song will be crapped on in the name of improving Zuko?

Chong's robe's sleeve kind of hangs off his waist, since he's rocking the one shoulder look. I thought Bato was rocking that same look in his episode, and spent the whole episode looking for where he stashed his sleeve, but I couldn't find it. But now I see Chong with the same look and he definitely has extra sleeve trailing. So did Bato cut off his sleeve? Is he wearing the robe he was wearing when he got injured and his sleeve burned off? Is there a known way to tuck robe sleeves in inconspicuously and the fact that we can see Chong's is a bit of visual storytelling pointing to the hippies' general scatterbrained nature? Am I overthinking this?

I liked this episode! Definitely going on my rewatch list! The hippies are just the right amount of stupid, Zuko gets a break from being a shouty jerk, and Aang and Katara get to be just awkward kids (albeit while trapped in a life or death situation - priorities guys). Poor Sokka, Appa, and Song have a pretty bad time. But Sokka being terrorised by stupidity makes for funny tv.

Why would Robert Rodriguez not call in every personal favor he could to make sure that he could make a movie about a Latino spy family. He had to fight the studio for it to be a Latino movie.

Based On a True Story

    I recently watched the movie The Long Game, which is an inspirational story of Mexican American teenagers forming a golf club at a South Texas high school. It was a great film, but something irked me. The text “based on a true story” appeared right after the title.

    The next day, I researched the facts, and the screenwriters had embellished them. Well, this is to be expected. Life is not always exciting, and moviegoers like action, drama, and intrigue. “It could have happened this way.” “The screenwriter punched up the story to make it fun.” “Who cares?”

    And look who is getting upset. I write fiction, which means I am lying to every single reader. My first book is about an immortal. Living forever breaks the rules of physics and medicine. My second book is a spy drama where two nations tap secret American communication cables. That never happened. The third contains a storyline about telepathy and aliens. Completely impossible. Yet, I have the nerve to complain about a screenwriter uplifting an excellent story so moviegoers are more entertained.

    I suppose I have dug myself into a hole. “We like our entertainment to be entertaining.” “It’s normal.” Umm, no. I still feel cheated. So, what is going on in my bonkers mind?

    Here are the facts behind this movie. Golfing events occurred, and many people participated. These facts were recorded in newspapers. Author Humberto Garcia researched old newspapers, interviewed people, and wrote the excellent book Mustang Miracle. Wonderful. Then, the screenwriter tweaked the story to create an entertaining movie. Sure, “liberties” were taken, but the results were close to the original story.

    It took only a few minutes of internet research to uncover the differences. “Why not go with the original? It was an interesting story. No need to embellish.” More to the point. “By putting this text on the screen, the movie producers admit to lying.”

    The counterargument is that the movie version of events was more entertaining, and the “based on a true story” text makes it alright for viewers because they know creative liberties were applied right at the film’s beginning, meaning nobody was cheated.

    Well? Is it fiction or nonfiction? A documentary or fairy tale? The film producers wish us to believe their movie contains a high percentage of solidly researched facts. After all, the screenwriter did not use aliens like I did.

    Here is my disconnect. If the screenwriters change some minor facts, I would be fine. Instead, they changed a bunch and slapped a “based on a true story” text to reduce the complaints. Plus, they did not want to get hit with a lawsuit.

    Having the “based on a true story” text seems like a copout that translates to: “I could not find a good story, so I took this bad one and changed a bunch of stuff. Now, pay me.”

    When I researched the real story, I wondered what those players would think. The only way I can answer is to examine my own life. It has not been overly exciting, but what if there were a thrilling movie about me?

    Matt Damon could play me; he even looks like me. I could have a mind-blowing childhood full of race cars and flying fighter aircraft like the film Iron Eagle. When I turned 25, I could invent a machine that cured cancer and fall in love with a fantastic woman played by Lucy Liu. And who would play my wise Uncle Al? Al Pacino. They even have the same first name. Fantastic!

    Cured cancer? Race cars? Fighter jets? What the heck? I did not do that. Well… Can I imagine doing that? As proof, screenwriters invented the story for Iron Eagle. Here is the difference. There was no “based on a true story” disclaimer at the beginning of that movie. We all know it was pure fiction.

    Yet, movie studios want a pass. “Come on. Watch our film. It has Dennis Quaid and Cheech Martin in it.” Well, I have a counterargument. Why don’t nonfiction books have that statement? “Building the Panama Canal. How Teddy Roosevelt single-handedly completed the entire project with a shovel. Based on a true story.” See, that does not work.

    There are two reasons why nonfiction books do not punch up true stories. There is a long tradition of honesty among authors because readers have a higher standard. Second, the backlash is brutal when a nonfiction author is caught embellishing.

    I should chill out and enjoy movies based on a true story. They are fun, and there is no actual harm. Yeah… It still leaves a bad taste.

Your ass was firmly planted on a Cheech and Chong themed pillow in a less than clean shack in the back of Eddie Munson's (uncle’s) trailer. He called the shack his little slice of heaven—in all honesty it wasn’t the nicest place to be but it was a good place to smoke. His uncle never questioned what was going on in there; plus Eddie had a huge stash of different munchies to snack on. There also was a bunch of little DND figures and props he hadn’t yet finished painting all over the floor, and a bunch of random shit to keep you entertained while you guys got high. Though you weren’t focused on any of those things, you couldn’t take your eyes off the metal head sitting next to you. His head was leaned back against the wall as he took a long hit off the blunt; French inhaling smoke through his nose before letting out a small puff of smoke through his nostrils.

You’ve come to notice all the weird little quirks he had and you were absolutely fascinated. Like, when he had to cough he’d bite his lip trying to seem cool but always failed and ended up coughing into a spare pillow trying to hide his face. Most of the time it wasn’t a bad cough but sometimes when he took a big hit, he’d end up drooling and when he’d pull his face out of the pillow a long strand of drool would connect his lips and the pillow and it made you think.

Another goofy thing he’d do is when he rolled a few blunts he pretended he was a drummer with them making drum noises, you encouraged him cheering and saying encore; sometimes he’d even sing into the blunt making you laugh a little too hard at his pitchy voice.

No matter what you two did together you couldn’t help but have a good time; it’s not hard to understand why you were completely enamoured by him.

The metal head blew a cloud of smoke in your face, grinning widely at you. And you realzied you may have been staring at him for a little too long. “Earth to (Y/N)~”Eddie chuckled at your shocked expression. “Oh shit , how high are you? You sure you can take this next turn?” He asked in a teasing tone but you knew he was genuinely concerned, he wouldn’t want you to green out especially on his watch.

You waved your hand in front of you making a ‘psh’ noise before grabbing the blunt from him. “Who do you think I am Munson? You know I don’t tap out that quick~” You teased in return placing your free hand on his thigh knowing you both would just laugh it off. Though this time you swore you saw Eddie's ears turn a light pink as he turned away, flicking one of the DND characters on the floor onto its side. “Oh yeah, well duh…” Seeing him be so sheepish was new to you. He usually could take your teasing and throw it right back at you, so you decided to push it a bit more. “Hey Eddie…do you wanna shotgun this next hit..maybe I don’t need a full one.” You saw Eddie stiffen, he was still facing away from you before he whipped his head back towards you so fast you swear you heard a crack. “Are you fucking with me?” He placed his ringed hands on the floor in front of you leaning forward but not too close; he seemed to be waiting for you to laugh at him but you smiled shyly. “ No-no not this time, I really want to…I’ve never done it before..I thought it would be fun.” You cursed yourself out when your sudden wave of confidence fell flat as soon as you looked into his dark eyes, he looked like a sad puppy and there’s no way you could just say it was a joke now you had to commit.

Not that you wanted to say it was a joke that was just your fall back plan if he laughed at you—but the way he reacted made your heart skip a beat. “Oh well I totally have done it lots of times—so I can show you…how.” Eddie’s gaze went everywhere but you as he clearly lied through his teeth.

But eventually his eyes landed back on you, glancing down to your lips then back up at your eyes. Now you were the one avoiding eye contact, you knew he was lying but you thought it was cute how he was trying to impress you.

“Awesome…do you wanna hit it and pass it to me or…?” God you felt so awkward but Eddie just smiled his big goofy grin and you felt your nerves begin to calm. “ I’ll show you the ropes sweetheart.” Eddie then skooched his pillow really close to you and grabbed the blunt. He had to spark it back up since if had gone out while you two dodelled around.

The metal head then looked at you again, his gaze was soft but he was looking for any sign of you not wanting to do this. So In reassurance you placed your hand on his thigh and rubbed it gently, a smile on your lips. “Come on, I'm starting to lose my high old man.” You teased, laughing at the ‘offended’ expression on his face. Eddie was only a few months older than you but you never let him forget it. “Impatient huh? I don’t blame you, I'd wanna get a piece of this while it’s still hawt.” The way he said hot made you cackle and lean against him, your head pressed against his shoulder but only for a moment as you pushed yourself back up, only a few inches from his face. Eddie’s lips were twitching and you couldn’t tell if it was a good or bad thing, but he then shut his eyes and quickly took a long hit off the blunt. He cracked his eyes open just a bit then gently cupped your chin, pulling you in close; your lips mere inches apart as he parted his own just a slit allowing some smoke to seep out.

You coudn’t take it anymore, you had to make your move now; the timing as just too perfect. Genlty you grabbed Eddie’s shirt by the collar and broke the very small amount of distance between you two. Your lips collided and Eddie let out a soft ‘HEH’ in surprise but he quickly kissed you back, smoke seeping out of the corner of your lips as they moved against one another. His lips were warm and soft. They parted slightly, allowing your tongue to slip inside.

The smell of Eddie’s cologne, and the soft, patchouli scent of his conditioner, was dizzying, butterflies danced in your stomach. Your bodies pressed together heatedly breathing heavily as you kissed. You could taste your shared breath, feel the thud of your combined heartbeat as Eddie’s free hand found itself on your hip, trying to pull you impossibly close.

That was until his occupied hand dropped the blunt in the heat of the moment causing Eddie to break the kiss and turn his head to the floor. His breath was labored and his thoughts flatlined. You were still dazed by the kiss and Eddie was trying to figure out if he was dreaming as he stared at the fallen blunt. That was till a little too much smoke started to come from it and he finally snapped out of it. “Shit, son of a bitch.” He grumbled, before proceeding to spit on the cherry of the blunt, putting it out. Your eyes went wide as he turned back to you, your gaze focused on his rosy lips. “Dude, I don't think you even got any of that hit.” Eddie joked trying to ease the tension, your eyes snapped up from his lips to meet his. He looked beautiful, his cheeks were flushed, pupils blown out in lust, lips slightly puffy from the kiss. You couldn't help but stare and that made him stir in his seat. “You look really pretty Eddie.” The words slipped from your lips as you smiled, the metal head’s face grew in color.. He tried to hide it by holding some of his hair in front of his face but you could see how flustered he was. “Are you trying to flirt with me right now (L/N)?” Eddie was trying to keep his composure but was failing miserably. “Hmm what if I was–could I get another kiss if It worked?” You smirked, leaning in close to him, your hands resting on his thighs. His eyes darted down to your hands then back to your eyes. “Hmmm I think you’ve got to roll to flirt.” Eddie chuckled, grabbing one of the rogue die from the floor. Was this his way of flirting? “Oh my god you suck.” You teased, chuckling softly. “Now tell me the rules, Dungeon Master.” You saw Eddie stiffen again at the name, he was not good at hiding his embarrassment. “S-so, I’ll make it easy for you if you roll a 10 or above, your flirt will be successful.” You rolled your eyes, he was such a nerd but you loved it.

Grabbing the die you shook it in your hand and lazily tossed it on the ground beside you. Eddie was watching intently but you could stop looking at him. He was so pretty, especially with the tint of pink spread across his cheeks. “ Holy shit.” Eddie exclaimed , pulling you from your thoughts. “You rolled a nat 20!” You quickly looked down with your mouth hanging open. “ No fucking way!” Excitedly you turn back to look at Eddie who was blushing even harder now. “It looks like your roll to flirt was a success.” You could tell there was something going through that dirty little brain of his and you had a sneaking suspicion you knew exactly what it was. “Well…since I rolled such a high number I think I can do more than flirt.” You placed your hand on Eddie’s chest, looking up at him with puppy dog eyes. “Right dungeon master?” Eddie licked his lips while looking at yours. “—-yeah you can.” You tilted your head to the side with a slight smirk. “Hmmm, well for starters I still want that kiss.” And without hesitation you leaned in pressing your lips against Eddie’s, he was still for a moment. Struck with disbelief that this was actually happening but quickly he snapped back to reality. The metal head gently bent your head back across his arm and kissed you back, softly at first, and then with a swift gradation of intensity that made you cling to him as the only solid thing in a dizzy swaying world. His insistent mouth was parting your shaking lips, sending wild tremors along your nerves, evoking sensations you had never known you were capable of feeling.

It felt as if time stopped when his lips met yours, but the flutter and heat in your chest only intensified. You could only focus on how soft he felt against your mouth, how addictively he invaded all your senses.

It still wasn’t clear if you dreamed this moment to life, but there was raw emotion in the way he kissed you. Eddie kept his eyes half open, sneaking a guilty peek at you every time he came back for air, just to make sure this wasn’t a product of his imagination.

The only thing pulling him from his thoughts was when you slipped onto his lap not breaking the kiss. Eddie melts into your touch, holding you close as you grind on him, making him groan into your mouth.

The metal head rolls his hips into yours gripping tighter on your waist, holding you even closer to his own body. You both break out of the kiss to catch a breath as he trails kisses down your neck, making you groan and move your head in pleasure so he could have more access. “Fuck Eddie, how are you so good at this. Such a good boy huh? Just for me, and only me.” You praise as Eddie slowly leaves marks on your neck and collarbone while peppering kisses on them gently. Your words came out raspy and deep, praising the ravenett ever so kindly.

Eddie’s hand travelled from your waist to under your shirt, his hands exploring the soft skin. His thumbs caught the hem of your boxers and a soft whine left your lips.

The metal head’s hands made their way to the button of your jeans as his lips peppered kisses on your neck, only stopping for a moment as he asked.

“Do you wanna do this…?” His voice was soft and gentle as he met your gaze. You nodded, your cheeks burning. “You’re so polite Eddie.” You joked trying not to show just how crazy you were going inside. “I’m a gentleman after all.” He teased before leaning back in for a kiss. The kiss was sloppy and wet, goans and moans filling the air as you grip onto his hair and back as your legs slowly spread open giving Eddie’s hands moving room.

He snaps your jeans buttons open and you feel your breath catch in your throat. Your head was spinning with anticipation. Then…

BAM BAM BAM

“EDDIE!! EDDIE YOU IN THERE IT’S DUSTIN!!“

You and Eddie look at each like deer in headlights before turning to face the shed’s door, the tapestry covering the shed’s small window saved you both from embarrassment but the red on Eddie’s checks spoke for themselves. “ Son of a bitch.” Eddie grumbled before gently removing you from his lap. “Just give me a sec babe.” He shot you a wink as he stood up and adjusted his jeans trying his best to hide what you did to him.

Finney

Dreams of working for NASA.

He doesn't want to be an astronaut, mostly because he could never leave Gwen.

He finds space fascinating because it's an escape from what happens on Earth. The stars are independent of the bullies and his dad and losing his mom, there's a place in the universe that's safe from all of it.

Much more bitter about his mom leaving than Gwen is. Finney was mad for a while, hurt and abandoned, but after living with Terrence, he can't be bothered by it anymore.

Peanut butter and chocolate is his favorite flavor of ice cream.

Loves science, he's pretty good with math, and when he starts to take physics in high school, his brain is just in heaven

Asks his whole team to sign a baseball at their last game every year

Has a part time job in high school as a referee/coaching assistant for the elementary baseball teams

Has another part time job as a math tutor

He's pretty good with the kids because he treats them the same way he wishes someone treated him as a kid

Gwen

Fairly feminine. She's the only girl in her house, but her braids are always well done and she has a dollhouse that's important to her. But growing up without a mom has left her a little rough

She is that little girl who wants a horse so badly and asks Santa every year for one

Her religious beliefs are strongly influenced by Susie's family. Her dad and Finney aren't religious, but Susie's family prays at dinner and invites her to church events

Gets involved in her school government in high school. She's a mix of well liked and feared, but everyone knows she'll fight so students are treated fairly

Joins cheerleading in high school, along with Susie and Amy (Bruce's little sister)

Partly because she wanted to join a sport, partly because her friends did and partly because her dad is always proud when she does traditionally feminine things. He's very old-fashioned and doesn't approve of her mouth or spunk, but he's happy that his little girl is a cheerleader.

Favorite ice cream flavor is cotton candy

I know a lot of people write his living situation as him with his single mom, but I think both his parents are gone and he lives with his uncle

I go back and forth between whether his mom has passed or if she was destroyed by losing her husband in war and knew she wasn't fit to take care of Robin anymore

The uncle that he lives with/is close with is his paternal uncle who is trying to keep his brother's memory alive

Little shit starter and loves drama and gossip

He and Gwen could stay up all night dishing out dirt

Secretly loves Spanish soap operas, they make him feel closer to his mom, but they're also just really entertaining

wore his Cheech and Chong shirt despite having no idea who they are. It's a gift from his uncle, who likes the movies, but Robin thinks it's just a picture of two cool dudes

took Spanish classes in high school just to get an easy A, but he end up being the president of Spanish club when Finney and Gwen point out how that will look good on college applications

Bruce

Dude does all the sports. We just saw him in baseball season, but he does basketball and soccer and he even travels to the next town over to join their hockey team

Amy, his little sister who has homeroom with Gwen, is a cheerleader and cheers Bruce on at all his games. Gwen joins at Finney's games

When the Grabber becomes a well known name, he and Amy set up a buddy system for kids on their street so everyone has someone to walk to and from school with

Even though he isn't a fan of horror movies, he introduces Robin to Japanese horror films and the two bond

Finney tags along because of friendship, but covers his eyes the whole time

Bruce is a history nerd

Vance

Loves Billy Idol

Paints his nails to be like some of his rock idols, but everyone is too afraid of him to say anything about it

Stops painting his nails because they chip when playing pinball and Vance gets too frustrated with it

Ends up giving all his nail polish to Gwen and her crew

Not an animal person, but begged his mom to let him get a snake just to heighten his badass position in school

Got a ball python and was fucking terrified of it for a month, never taking it out

Now takes his snake out to watch tv on the couch with him and has named it Dracula, or Drakky for short

Doesn't like horror films or films in general. He's not afraid of them, he just can't pay attention to them

Hates school, but gets weirdly obsessed with physics when the teachers compares it pinball. All the force and angles and weight of the ball and the timing of everything become a focus for him

Does very well in physics and it's the only class he ever tries in

Billy Showalter

It is really hard for me to come up with head canons for siblings we never see and aren't even sure exist, but he has two older sisters, like at least five years older than him

Knows how to stitch up his own clothes when they tear because of his sisters

Paper job was to save up for a car when he turned 16. He know he will be one of his only classmates to have a car that early and is excited

Briefly thought about becoming a reporter after reading some articles in the papers he delivered

Has a first aid kit on him at all times after he fell off his bike delivering papers

Kind of a science nerd, but not like Finney is

I've seen a lot of ideas for the names of his dog and they're all so cute, I can't pick one, but his dog is definitely a girl and she loves her Billy.

English isn't his favorite subject, but he reads a lot and sometimes catches grammar/spelling errors in the paper, but doesn't say anything because by the time the paper is in his hands, it's too late to fix

Griffin Stagg

Okay with having so few friends. Social interactions are hard for him

Thinks about being a veterinarian because he likes animals better

So quiet and unnoticeable that he sneaks into theaters without paying sometimes

Has seen way more R rated things than his classmates and they would all be impressed if they bothered to talk to him

Same year as Gwen and they end up having classes together later on

Gwen and her nosy self likes to know everyone so she and Robin can be up to date on the latest gossip, so even if she and Griffin aren't friends, she knows who he is

Eventually invites him to eat lunch with her when she sees him standing awkwardly along the wall

Gets invited into Girl Talk with Robin and Gwen and has a lot to contribute since people often forget he's there and say whatever they want around him

English is his favorite subject, but he has to be in the mood to read a book

The Grabber/Albert

Older brother of Max, meaning he feels a lot of responsibility

On top of being a magician, he is the manager of the Floro Hardware Supplies, where he gets his equipment toward the end of the film

this explains how he has enough money for two houses

also, he gets a discount on everything he buys

Is actually a good cook when he's not rushed

When he dies, the town is so eager to forget him that they do not mark his grave. No one attends his burial, but it's believed he's buried next to his parents
