Tony: Do you even have any life goals other than spiderman?
Peter: I have been banned from every fast food place in Queens except for the Mcdonalds one block away from the Tower. I don't know what their limit is but I will find it.

headcanon that peter kept jumping back and forth between wanting to open up to tony and wanting to keep him at arms length when they first started to get their mentor-mentee relationship off the ground.
so things like how when tony put a hand on his shoulder, he'd lean into the touch before sharply moving away.
or how he'd get really excited when tony invited him to help with a project before his face would suddenly freeze and shutter closed into this emotionless, blank slate.
and internally, peter was like, "shit, Mr. Stark must think I'm either bipolar or clinically insane."
but what peter forgot was that tony went through the same thing with people like pepper and rhodey after howard died, so he very quickly recognized what was going on.
and it was honestly kind of flattering to see the signs that peter held him to the same standard as his dad or his uncle ben. so rather than commenting on any of it, he just sent the kid a warm smile and reminded himself to be patient and wait for peter to come to him.

So, I want some fics where Peter hides his identity from Tony and the Avengers, especially with identity shenanigans. I need something to read all night, after all. This includes fics where he's an intern. Longer fics would be appreciated! Only on ao3 please, my Kindle Paperwhite can't go on FF.net due to Cloudflare.
Fics that I already know about (so don't recommend them):

The Rogues are back; Tony Stark couldn't even be mad about it - it was his idea after all. He's an Avenger and that means protecting the Earth at any cost - even if he has to deal with a certain star-spangled man and his sullen sidekick. After all, he's been through worse in his life; the loss of his wife and the disappearance of his son 12 years ago. Compared to that, this would be a walk in the park. Bucky Barnes is back on US soil as a free man. But freedom is more than just physical. On top of that, Steve is desperate for him to be the man he was before. The only problem is; that man is long dead. Peter Parker has been through the mill but he knows he just had to adapt, roll with the (many) punches and keep going. Spider-man is his safe place now, the one time he could truly feel like himself. Like he is making a difference. He'd make sure no one would suffer like he has, even if he has to track down the perpetrator himself.
Thunder and Attrition by magniloquentChanteuse
Peter Parker had been Spider-Man for five months and things were looking up. The beautiful and intelligent Gwen Stacy was showing interest in him. He found budding friendships with the Avengers. His reputation was growing in New York City. Spider-Man seemed to be at the top of his game and Peter Parker was finally regaining his footing after the death of his Uncle Ben. But as Gwen lamented his lack of attentiveness, the Avengers sniffed around Spider-Man's secret identity, and a mysterious man with a strange power and a terrifying plot emerged, Peter realized that he still had a lot to learn about leading this life he'd chosen. And with tragedy poised over his head, ready to fall, Peter was going to need to learn fast.
The Third Option by Uncertainty_Principle
Homecoming AU. Ben and May divorced before Peter’s parents died, so when Ben is murdered Peter goes into foster care. It takes just a tiny taste of superpowers for Peter to decide he doesn’t want to put up with his horrible foster father anymore—the streets are infinitely more appealing. All he wants is to be Spider-Man anyway. So he leaves. Simple. Simple, that is, until Iron Man needs Spider-Man’s help. Peter isn’t about to turn down an opportunity to fight alongside Tony Freaking Stark, but he also isn’t going to let his hero know that his recruit is a fifteen-year-old homeless dropout. So they strike a deal. Peter will help Tony. In return, the mask stays on. And that’s when things get complicated.

Irondad fic ideas #139
NWH AU where Tony's been in a coma this whole time. He still is. But the world thinks he's dead.
One day, Rhodey is in some science place (maybe SI, maybe a community college where he was giving a speech?) and he sees this kid tinkering who looks exactly like Tony Stark. The teen Tony Stark from when he first met him at MIT. Even down to the mannerisms. He goes up and has a brief conversation with this stranger, just curious. Then he leaves.
Unbeknownst to the kid, Peter, Rhodey managed to grab something for a DNA test. The kid just looked too much like his best friend. Like seeing a ghost
When they analyze the DNA, they learn that this kid is in fact Tony's biological son
Rhodey goes back to find the kid, this time bringing Happy. Peter gets to have the super fun conversation where two people who should know him but don't tell him that the person he saw as a father was his actual father, only it's too late
They convince Peter to come with them eventually. And Peter gets the shock of his entire life
Over the next little while, at Tony's bedside, Peter gets to know Morgan (who he would've seen as a sister anyway but this is insane). He also gets reacquainted with Rhodey, Happy, and Pepper, who all admittedly find him a bit sus with how much he seems to know.
But...this is Tony's kid. His son. So they let him be there, let him talk to Tony and hold his hand.
Finally, finally, Tony wakes up.
And it turns out, being in a coma and thought dead by the entire world, including wizards, makes one exempt from certain magic
Bonus:
As he sits by Tony's bedside, Peter has to grapple with a lot of emotions. One of them is the realization that he was never actually related to Uncle Ben, which makes him feel like his uncle and aunt died for nothing
Pepper helps him through it. Even not knowing him the way she once did, she knows plenty about guilt complexes and chosen family. She assures Peter that he's still a Parker, no matter what, and that his aunt and uncle wouldn't have given him up for the world
Another thing Peter deals with is the fear of Tony waking up and not knowing him. It breaks his heart just thinking about it.
Cue THE most relieving hurt/comfort reunion ever imagined

PLATONIC YANDERE AVENGERS HEADCANONS
Tumblr media
You'll most definitely be spoiled rotten with the avengers since they tend to baby you A LOT! And unfortunately for you, that also means no doing dangerous stuff and no going on missions with them or even entering the kitchen for that matter since who knows WHAT sort of dangerous items you could injure yourself with there
They're like your very own personal body guards and they've all formed a schedule who gets to spend time with you on what days and everything. Sometimes it even ends up in fights since they ALL want to spend time with you lol, but be glad that another Civil War doesn't take place. They'll cuddle you and you'll be suffocated with their presence that it might be a bit overwhelming for you at times
They're like over protective parents who'll always be proud of every little thing you do. Be it you getting an A grade in school or even beating someone's high score in a video game for that matter, no matter how small of big your achievement might be, they'll still congratulate you. Wanda likes making delicious goodies for you and Steve might help her at times. Natasha's more like the cool rebellic badass aunt who'll break people's bones if they mess with you. Steve and Tony are the over protective dads and Peter's the one who always makes sure you're safe wherever you go and as for Thor and Bruce, they're the lenient and chill laid back fun uncles that ensure you have a good time around them. Clint's the 'I'm a softie to you but a badass to others' kinda guy
One thing I can guarantee you is that you won't be getting any 'me time' and kiss your privacy goodbye since it's gonna fly out of the window with them around. Like seriously, they won't let you have an inch and ounce of privacy and someone or the other's gonna be around you or clinging to you. I can see Tony, Natasha, Steve and Clint and Scott inserting themselves into your personal life and understanding how you're doing in school. Someone bullied you yesterday? Oh don't worry darling, the Avengers are gonna take care of them. Someone confessed their feelings to you and you don't know how to react? No worries, just enjoy some Ben and Jerry's ice cream and no need to worry about telling that person how you feel about them since they won't be showing up to school the next day, that's for sure

i'm sure little peter has dressed up as iron man several times, but i love thinking he has dressed up as tony stark himself. aunt may helps with the "goatee" (she draws one on peter's face, that is) and uncle ben buys him some cool glasses (tony's glasses are super expensive so ben buys cheaper ones and peter loves them)
current peter tries to hide these pictures the best he can bc he would die if tony ever found those

my dream peter parker/batfam fanfic would be like a borscht of all the best tropes from ao3 with these seasonings:
au divergence after end game. but instead of tony snapping, peter snaps. he’s dead, he’s died, except maybe the stones hear his last wish as “keep them safe” and interprets it broadly to mean him too—so they yeet him to the dc universe.
but he’s not magically healed. so his arm/side is charred and damaged and his healing is taking care of brain damage but only the worst of it. boy’s got amnesia and a paralyzed arm and landed, let’s say, exactly where the NY battle against Thanos was being held but in this universe, that happens to be a Bristol skatepark at eleven-thirty at night
where a sixteen year-old tim drake is angsting pretty hard and struggling with his own recovery post a Rogue smack down that has left him with some newly acquired, long-term physical disabilities
(and tim, who has convinced the batfam that he has an uncle to care for him, is also dealing with all the juicy unreliable narrator tropes these orphan boys seem to acquire like pokémon cards—he doesn’t think he’s part of the family, he can’t be useful anymore, he’s stepping back to give jason and damian space)
(and let’s say, bruce is also missing because, it’s my story, so dick hasn’t been able to look into the uncle thing because he’s dealing with becoming a dad to an angsty 12 year-old assassin kid who is threatening to run back to Ra’s but is also clearly in need of love)
(and let’s also say, jason is trying hard but isn’t talking to dick right now because he thinks tim shouldn’t have been allowed to fight the rogues in the first place, so he’s unreachable for the moment)
but now tim is staring at this boy who has popped up in his old skatepark and has to give first aid but can’t because of his own difficulties
so he calls jason who answers because it’s tim and tim was really hurt, and tim freaks out and jason comes and they call an ambulance for the boy
peter is unconscious but opens his eyes when the ambulance gets to the park. tim is talking softly to him and peter reaches out because tim reminds him of ned.
peter’s sticky powers mean tim has to come to the hospital with him because when peter fainted again, he was still attached to tim’s hand
“who is the boy?” “how did he get so hurt?” ask the hospital, cps, gcpd. so they take fingerprints and blood and dna and low and behold, a match.
because it’s my story
and i’m a genie
granting wishes to myself
and i’m a glutton
and i will die choking on my own sweet, sugary fluff
dick grayson is the father. (because richard parker is richard grayson is my kryptonite) jason realizes his brother will need some major help, so they reunite over this news.
tim sticks around once peter wakes and they all realize peter has amnesia.
“oh, my uncle won’t mind me staying here for a bit. he’s on a business trip.”
(later on in this huge behemoth of a head canon, tim and peter solve the mystery of bruce being lost in time. i’d love to see a red robin au where peter and tim are working together and dick is trying to keep his alternate universe son from spider-manning in front of ra’s.)
lots of angst potential when peter’s memory returns.
potential running away
potential misunderstandings?
alfred is not uncle ben, peter knows this, but sometimes, peter hangs out in the kitchen because alfred will say the same things uncle ben said, just in a better accent
jason and peter bond instantly. damian and peter bond instantly. how does tim handle a kid his age, going through some of the same health, physical challenges, who just seems to have a much easier time getting along with his brothers?
delicious.

I LOVVEEE Jason todd and Peter Parker fics because their stories are almost exact parallels except for the fact that Peter had a support system and Jason didn't.
They both grew up dirt poor and surrounded by tragedy. But Peter always had uncle ben and aunt may to keep him optimistic and happy. Jason had an extremely abusive father and a mother who had drug problems and that home environment made him cynical and untrusting.
They both experienced the loss of a parental figure (Uncle Ben and Catherine Todd) and became heroes shortly after.
They both got superhero mentors (Tony and Bruce). Except Tony (and u can fight me on this) was horribly manipulative, threatening Peter with releasing his identity (effectively threatening his family and friends), forcing A FIFTEEN YEAR OLD to fight CAPTAIN AMERICA, WHO DIDN'T KNOW HE WAS A CHILD AND WASN'T HOLDING BACK. Jason got Brucie boy who despite being emotionally constipated did LOVE Jason as a son.
Both their mentors/father figures took away their ability to help people over a well intentioned mistake. This taught their mentees (whether on purpose or not) that they were only accepted when they are useful and that their love is conditional. This is NOT what bruce intended but he is too traumatised a up his own ass to verbally affirm his love for Jason, and because he never TOLD jason that he was his son, or that he loved him, Jason never knew.
After their ability to superhero was taken away both of them rebelled in an attempt to find love (Peter trying to prove he IS worthy and win Tony's love and Jason tried to get affection from Sheila Haywood because he believed so deeply that Bruce's love was impossible to attain)
In both cases they ended up with a warehouse on top of them.
Peter had slowly been realising over the course of Homecoming that Tony DIDN'T love him, and that tony WASN'T coming to save him from the building. So peter knew he had to get himself out of that situation and he only had this revelation because he had an example of what real love looks like (MJ, Ned, May etc). When jason was in that warehouse in Ethiopia he took Sheila's betrayal as proof that he was undeserving of love and therfore, he thought no one was coming to save him AND ACCEPTED THAT. Particularly heartbreaking because Batman WAS coming to save him, but didn't arrive in time.
Peter (in my au at least) heals from Tony and Vulture with his family, friends and other heroes (cough daredevil cough). But Jason never got that chance, after he was resurrected he found out abt tim and abt the Joker surviving and took it as FURTHER confirmation that Bruce never loved him.
Jason returns to Gotham and eventually comes to a sort of truce with batman but he feels like he can never truly be a part of the family again because of what he's been through. Batman believes so deeply in second chances, but thats the issue. Bruce EXPECTS jason to change, change his methods and his morality. Even though nothing about who jason is was his choice, he literally couldn't change if he wanted to.
Peter (despite having a no kill rule) doesnt expect this from him. Sure he will actively sabotage kill shots or stand in the way, but he won't ask him to change (experience with deadpool and punisher).
This results in Jason changing his methods OF HIS OWN FREE WILL, because he sees how much the killing upsets Spider-Man, and how he has never asked him to stop.
Jason would be fiercely protective of Peter, because symbolically, it is jason seeing and accepting that he is NOT peter and he shouldn't be. But also how easy it would have been for Peter to end up like him.
Ultimatley Peter is able to give Jason the one thing he needs, a support system. And Jason can give Peter what he needs in Gotham, someone to look after him, feed him, clothe him, help him through the Pit rage.
Basically this duo is super important to me and you can pry them from my cold dead hands.

the Starker I wrote when stuck in bed after I stepped on a bee.
“Does that feel good, baby?”
“Oh yes…”
“Yes, what?”
“Yes, sir,” Peter answered with a grin.  He lay his head back on Tony’s shoulder.  Luxuriating in it all - the warm shower, the sinful lateness of the hour.  The sinful pleasure of what Tony was doing with his hands now.  Peter luxuriated in the sensation.
And it could last forever.  Peter chuckled at the thought - his lover was older, and that meant he wasn’t in a hurry to rush things along.
And his lover was rich, which meant meant he had an incredible shower setup.  Running out of hot water?  Almost impossible.  This could literally last all night.
“What’s so funny, little man?” Tony growled, still in his “Yes, Sir” voice.  Peter appreciated it.  He did.  But right now he was too happy to reply in kind.
“Everything is perfect, and I’m loving every minute of it,” Peter confessed, turning his head to kiss the side of Tony’s face, whispering.  “That’s all.”
“You’re not going to tell me ‘no’, are you?”
“Oh no no no Sir,” he said, easily falling into his Good Boy voice (although he was still smiling.  He couldn’t help it.)  “I would never tell you No.”
“Then answer my question.”
“I… I forgot the question, Sir.”
“Does that feel good?”
“Oh…”
Peter didn’t know what Tony meant - if the shower felt good, or if Tony’s hands, strong and firm and everywhere, felt good as they covered Peter with lather.  Or if Tony’s body, standing right behind him, felt good.  Or maybe it was his turgid cock, pressed directly against the center of Peter’s body, making his desires known.
Or maybe it was everything.
“Everything,” Peter found himself whispering.  He felt drunk.
“Everything you do to me feels so good, sir….”
“But you’re going to be my Good Boy, aren’t you Peter?”
“Oh yes sir, yes sir.  I’m your Good Boy.”
Tony reached up with his right hand and caressed Peter’s cheek with the back of his hand.  Then he let that same hand slide over Peter’s neck, over his shoulder, then down the strong arm, caressing the bicep.  Then lower, letting his long, calloused fingers caress Peter’s wrist.  Peter’s head was lolled back, resting on Tony’s body.  His eyes half closed, his mouth hanging open.  Lost in sensation.
Tony watched his face carefully.
Then he slid his right hand over Peter’s hand, moving it to the wet, standing cock.
“Touch yourself for me.”
* * *
“What… what?  Hey…”  Tony dropped his “Sir” voice immediately as Peter tensed up in his arms.  He moved his hand right away and wrapped his arms around Peter’s chest, holding him close.  “It’s okay… it’s okay…”  He laughed as Peter laughed, rocking his back and forth as held Peter tightly.  But he didn’t take his eyes off the boy’s face, studying him curiously.  The young man in front of him had been so relaxed, but had tensed up so suddenly… and not in a good way.  He had obviously pushed too far - but now he needed to know why.  He took Peter’s hand in his, then pressed it against the boy’s chest.  “What’s wrong?
“Hey, tell me,” Tony insisted, even as Peter continued to try to laugh it all off.  “No, I mean it.  Tell me.  I need to know.”  he brought Peter’s hand next to Peter’s face and kissed the knuckles.  “I won’t do it if it’s too much but… is it… is this taboo?” he asked quietly.  Trying to hide his intense curiosity.  “Was this… was this a no-no in the Parker household?” he asked gently.  “Did they tell you you would go blind, or something?”
“No… no…” Peter laughed even as he turned around and tried to hide in the crook of Tony’s neck.  He had startled so badly he had almost made them both lose their footing in the shower.  He chuckled as he tried to retain his composure, wrapping his arms around Tony’s back and holding him tight.
“Then talk to me.”
Tucking his nose in the crook of Tony’s neck, Peter took a few deep, calming breaths, taking in Tony’s scent.
“No, no it’s fine.  My Uncle Ben was cool about that actually - he explained to me early on that it was a natural thing to do, in fact.  But it’s just… I thought…
“Tony?”  He pulled back a little to whisper.  “You’re not… you’re not supposed to do it with your right hand!  Right?  I mean… isn’t that what…?  I thought that was like… like a rule or something…”
He couldn’t stop laughing at it now.  He pulled back a little to look into his older lover’s face.  “Don’t you…”
He lowered his voice to a whisper and brought their foreheads together.  “Don’t you remember when you wanted me to do that in Italy, and I jumped like you had bit me?”
“Yeah, but I thought it was because you were embarrassed to do it in front of me…”
“Well that too… I mean…”  Peter put both hands on either side of Tony’s face.  He would kiss the man, but he was smiling too much.  So he contented himself to whisper.
“I mean, I did want to.  But yeah, I was embarrassed.  But I think… I think I could.  I think that would be hot…”
Tony took both Peter’s hands in his hands.  Slowly, gently, he turned Peter to face the other way, curving their arms above their heads like dancers.  Peter allowed Tony to lead him into place - to pull him close to his body again.
And then the whispering began.
“Are you going to be my good boy now, Peter?”
“Oh yes, oh yes sir…”
He whimpered when Tony led his left hand to his staff, standing at a perfect 90 degree angle to his body.  He whimpered again, closing his eyes and leaning his face against the taller man behind him.  His whole body was tense now.  But still he complied.  He let his hand do exactly what he would be doing if he were alone… if Tony were nowhere near… if he were alone and lonely and longing for the man that he could never have.
It wasn’t easy.  In fact he had to screw his eyes shut tight and pretend he was somewhere else entirely.  He was beginning to think it might actually work when Tony spoke…
“What are you doing, angel?”
…and he broke off suddenly, pulling Tony’s arms around him.
“I can’t I can’t I can’t…”
But he didn’t laugh it off.  He didn’t lose his “Good Boy” voice.
Instead he turned his head for a kiss.  “I can’t Sir,” he whimpered, turning his head for a kiss.  He let Tony shush and rock him, holding him tight.
“But I want to be your Good Boy” he said, opening his eyes.  He took a deep breath and swallowed hard.
“But… Mr. Stark… maybe I could if you…”  He reached for Tony’s hand.
“Yes baby,” Tony growled, his voice thick with lust.  He sank his teeth into Peter’s shoulder as Peter led their hands back to the place where they had begun.
“If you kept your hand here,” he whispered.  Whimpered.    “If you keep your hand on my hand.  I think that I could… oh…”
“That’s good… that’s my good boy…” Tony whispered over and over again.  His kept his left hand cupped gently over Peter’s, guiding it as stroked slowly.  He pulled away as it picked up speed, caressing Peter’s wrist and arm instead.
He waited until Peter was close before he spoke again.
“What are you doing, angel?”
“I’m being your good boy, sir…”
“But what are you doing, angel?”
“I’m touching myself for you, sir.  I’m… oh god…
“I’m going to come for you Mr. Stark…”
Tony held him close in iron arms, praising him, talking him through his climax and gentling him as he stilled.  Still he spoke, calling Peter’s name and rocking him back and forth.  Peter leaned forward, eyes closed.  He let Tony lead him out of the shower, wrapping a big towel around him in the opulent bathroom.  He even let Tony dry him and, much to Tony’s utter delight, carry him like a child back into the bedroom.
* * *
After it was over (and it seemed to go on for hours) they lay side by side, heads touching.  Talking, as they always did, about what worked and what didn’t.  About what was hot and what would be hotter.  For Peter everything was a turn on, but Tony demanded specifics.  Lovemaking, Peter was finding, was an artform to Tony, just like the suits, he would always be trying to find ways to improve it.
“It was intense, but you’ll have to talk me through it,” Peter explained in a whisper.  “If you could… like you did in Paris.  Not just order me to do it, but stay there with me.  Touching my face and telling me I can do it, that I’m your brave boy… oh god…”
It was making him breathless, even now.  He turned his head away a bit.
“I’ve never… I’ve never done that before, Tony.  With anybody.”
“You’ve never… what?”  Tony pulled his body back to look Peter full in the face.  “I don’t buy that.  Not with your long list ‘exploration friends’ in highschool AND your ‘study partners’ at Columbia.  Surely you’ve done some mutual jacking it before.  That couldn’t have been your first time.”
Peter shrugged and dropped his eyes.  He couldn’t explain.
Of course he had done it in front of other boys before.  With other boys.  That wasn’t the issue.
Because Tony wasn’t a boy.
It wasn’t just that Tony was a man, no, it wasn’t that at all.  Nor that Tony Stark was an older man.  No.
Tony Stark was an experienced man.
A man who had several partners.  Several experiences.  Not just because he was a celebrity.  But because he had, as he explained to Peter, a “reputation to uphold.”  And a drive, apparently, to be as difficult and live as dangerously as possible.  That led to adventures, mostly of the sexual variety, that left him significantly more experienced than most.
Peter didn’t know how to explain that.  How to approach that.  He only knew performing in front of Tony was…
…was like doing fumbling pirouettes in front of the Paris Opera Ballet.
But there was no way to explain that now.  So Peter only snuggled into Tony’s embrace and told the older man what he wanted to hear.
“You make me feel so safe when you're holding me. When you're talking to me. I think I can do it again… as long as I know you'll talk to me.  As long as you tell me it’s okay.  If you just say…”
He swallowed hard, forcing the words out.
“As long as you say ‘M… Mr. Stark’s got you.”
“Oh baby,” Tony moaned as he tightened his embrace.  “Mr. Stark’s always got you.  Always.”

peter parker is selfish.
may and ben had given him everything, he spent nights sleeping comfortably; oblivious to the amount of stress his presence had given them, peter ran around the couples small apartment playing superhero’s while they figured out how they were going to feed a third person. he grew up more or less happy, and it was all because of them— they were perfect.
and what does peter do? he storms out after a stupid argument, he wanders down three different streets and ignores may’s calls. he screams at ben when he finds him, he refuses to go home, he gets ben shot.
when may found out, she didn’t look at peter with hate— there wasn’t a morsel of anger in his aunts eyes, she only held him and assured him that it wasn’t his fault, and isn’t that the most ridiculous thing? her husband was dead, and she was holding the reason he bled out on the alleyway, she was comforting the root of her grief.
and peter let her, he snuck into her room everytime a nightmare visited, letting himself fall back into her arms. he let her sign him up for midtown, he let her book his therapy appointments.
peter stood by and watched his aunt pull herself together for his sake, just like he watched his uncle get shot ( and just like he watched tony stark snap. )
so when may asks if he’s been eating breakfast, he’ll lie and tell her he grabs something on the way, when she gives him his allowance, he’ll slowly shove it into her savings jar, and when he gets a nightmare he’ll toughen up.
because yeah, he was selfish, he was selfish because he stayed. but he wouldn’t let himself be a burden again, he won’t let himself be put in a position where he needs help.
( and when he apologizes to mr.stark, half of his body gone and dusted. it’s because he knows what it’s like to watch someone you care for die, and he knows that his failure would leave a burden on tony’s shoulders. he knows that he’s inconvenienced someone again. )

Unemployed and Uneducated
Summary: Peter is desperate for a job after months of living on his own
Warnings: none really, just a few mentions of loneliness and a lost relative
Tumblr media
“Peter Parker?” A woman from the unemployment office calls into an overall dejected lobby. Peter looks up from holding his head in his hands as his knee bounces anxiously.
The same few thoughts flood his brain:
* I’m pathetic
* I can’t do this much longer
* I can’t do anything
* I need help
- Who the hell could I ask?
- I’m fucking alone!
- I couldn’t save May, who else can’t I save?
* I am so fucked in the head
- Lost everyone
1. First my parents
2. Ben
3. Tony
4. May
5. Everyone else, including my best friend, my doppelgängers, and of course, the love of my life
Man this shit is gonna give me a complex
* I am so depressed
- I should get medication
- I can’t afford medication
- That’s why I’m at a fucking unemployment agency
* And I’m back to being pathetic
“Here,” Peter pushes away all of those invasive thoughts for the next fifteen minutes in that woman’s office. She types his name into her computer and pushes her glasses up, as if that will change the astonishing lack of… anything.
Peter sits there, awkwardly, eyes darting around the room as if he has no clue about what she’s seeing— not seeing on that screen.
“I’m sorry,” she starts, “I think we’ll just have to “build your resume on print.” The red haired middle aged—Gina, Peter reads the name on the plaque on her desk— grabs a pen and some paper.
“So where did you graduate?”
“Oh, I uh… I had to, uh… dropout…?”
Gina nods and writes something down on the paper. She kinda reminds Peter of a glorified guidance counselor… but maybe a little meaner. “Look Peter, I’m not gonna lie to you, this isn’t looking good for you. Without a GED and a diploma shits gonna get real difficult. I seriously recommend you getting that GED. I can’t give you some entry level jobs to start until you get that degree.”
Now it’s Peter’s turn to nod.
“So tell me about what you like to do.”
‘Apparently, I like to self sabotage a lot.’ He filters himself so he doesn’t projectile word-vomit all over this stranger’s office.
“I wanted to be an engineer. I had my sights set on MIT before I had to drop out.”
———
Trying to think of a time before a traumatic event is extremely difficult. A victim of rape can be triggered by something that once was innocent, like a lemonade stand; a son who used to be pushed by his father on the football field might not be able to play football ever again after they stop talking to their father; a victim of domestic violence might not be able to respond to sudden movements from their partners the same way. And for all of those people, looking back on their memories before the abuse might be difficult to do with a totally unbiased opinion.
Something’s you never forget, like the way Aunt May felt in Peter’s arms just before she died. Or the words she spoke in those final moments, the same words his uncle Ben said when he died.
‘Nothing will ever be the same.’
Peter can’t afford flowers for May’s grave, but he still visits her grave three times a week on average, no less than two in that span.
And that’s where he is right now. Sitting across from her grave stone with his journal between the hedge and him.
“So I’m still looking for a job, and I haven’t really had time to make friends, but it’ll get better soon…” as soon as he feels a tear fall down his right cheek, he sniffles, blinks. And uses his sleeve to wipe it all away.
“Good God, May. Why didn’t you tell me it’d be so hard to make it on my own?” He chuckled somberly, the same way anyone would when they were trying to hide their emotions.
“I don’t want to keep going.” He cries. “I don’t know if I can.”
“You can.” A familiar, yet unfamiliar voice says from behind him. “She’d want you to.”
It’s Happy.
Peter closes the journal and stands up as fast as possible for him.
“Sorry,” Happy starts, “I didn’t mean to eavesdrop.”
Peter hides his face and can’t even bring himself to self to glance at Happy even by accident, “No no, don’t worry about it. It’s fine. I should probably leave anyways.” He starts to step away but Happy takes hold of his jacket sleeve.
“Wait, let me take you to get something to eat,” He smiles, “please. My treat.
Tom takes a moment to consider the offer. The most surprising thing about his moment of hesitation is the fact that he thought about saying no.
“Why would you want to take a stranger out to eat?” He asks.
“I don’t know. You just remind me of someone that I can’t quite place.”
Peter smiles with a glint of hope in his eyes.
— — —
“So,” Happy starts as Peter munches on his cheeseburger, “what’s a young kid like you doing visiting someone’s grave instead of going to school?”
Peter puts down the burger, “I had to drop out actually.” Happy leans back on the booth bench.
“It’s not drugs or anything,” Peter reassures the older man, “I just don’t have the money for anything and I need to earn money for rent.”
“So was May helping you with that before she died?” Happy asks.
Peter debates being forthcoming about his past, but decides against it because he doesn’t have the strength anymore. He lost that at the Statue of Liberty.
“Yeah. My parents died and she always managed to find someway to help me.” Peter smiled.
“I was her boyfriend,” Happy begins, “she never mentioned you. Peter, are you hiding something?” Peter gets a l little nervous.
“I went to the soup kitchen after school. She helped so many that she probably had no idea the effect she had on me.” He covers his ass.
Happy is still suspicious but doesn’t push. “Well, Peter, you seem like a good kid. I’m sure everything will work out eventually.”
“Thank you, Mr. Hogan.”
“So where’s the first place on your list?” He asks.
“What?”
“You said you’re looking for a job, tell me where you’re looking and I can give you a ride.”
“Stormy’s Autobody.”

It always meant a whole lot more (to me)
https://archiveofourown.org/works/57552085 by Magali_sans_E Peter has a secret. A secret he can't tell anyone, that he never shared with anyone, not even Ned or Aunt May. When accepting to became Spider-man's guardian, so joyful, so talkative, Tony Stark has no idea of the tragic, banal truth that hovers around the death of Uncle Ben and that only Peter knows - in fact, he only vaguely remembers the existence of this Benjamin Parker that Peter never mentions. No, Tony knows absolutely nothing about the deep anxieties that haunt the teenager at his charge - nor how much it involve him - and repeats mistakes to the point of no return. Had this funny idea for an AU: what if instead of giving their baby to Ben and May, Peter's parents left him under the care of Norman and Emily right before their death (perhaps because Mary and Emily were close friends), so Peter ended up being adopted into the Osborn's family?
I can imagine that Peter would have turned into a much more snobbish, condecensing jerkass who thinks he's above everyone, flex about his intelligence and be a huge jerkass to his brother, Harry. It's also a given that Norman would heavily favor Peter over Harry due to his "intelligence" and passion for science (which could shape Peter's condescending attitude towards Harry) and likely put a lot on pressure on Peter, contributing to Peter's superiority complex.
Also, Peter would definitely not go to Midtown High given his privileged upbringing and intelligence, so I doubt he would ever encounter Flash Thomson or Liz Allan. And he would have encountered Gwen Stacy earlier as she's a friend of Harry and that Norman and George Stacy were canonically close friends.
He would still become Spider-man in this universe but given that he already has all the fame and money he wants, he wouldn't need to use his powers for these things. I think he wouldn't bother using them at all at first. Rather than Uncle Ben's death, Harry's death could serve as a catalyst for him to become Spider-man. Perhaps Harry and Gwen went to investigate a gang's criminal activities and Harry asks for Peter's help as his powers could be of use but Peter ignores his request and instead goes to Oscorp's meeting with his dad. Harry predictably dies and Peter thinking he could have prevented his death with his powers tries to make up for his death by becoming Spider-Man, whereas Norman who has already lost his wife in similar circumstances less than a year ago, goes into full blown madness and turns into Green Goblin to "avenge" them by directing his anger at the city as a whole, which he sees as a corrupt, irredeemable place (akin to Ra's Al Ghul in Batman Begins).
Spider-Man and Green Goblin develop a deep seated hatred towards each other. Of course, to keep some spice, Norman and Peter are unaware of each other's identies until the very end. Needless to say that they would be deeply disturbed to learn the truth, especially Norman who swore to protect Peter by all costs since Peter is his last remaining family, someone he deeply loves.
Over time, Peter would grow out his worst traits to become a much humble and heroic person and would have to try to keep balance between his responsibilities as the heir of Oscorp and a superhero. I can also see Peter running Oscorp alone as his father's mental state deteriorated ever since Harry's death so wouldnt in position to run such a large company. I can him developing a some sort of rivalry with Tony Stark initially due to being heads of rival companies. I can also see Peter using Oscorp's technology in crime fighting (while Norman uses it for crime).
Gwen and Peter/Spider-Man form a some sort of crime-fighting duo as Gwen is basically a mix between Oracle and Insomniac MJ. She would be the computer nerd making all research needed or pirating stuff like Oracle and gather clues like insomniac MJ to help Spider-man. Peter would continue his brother's "legacy" by working with Gwen like his brother to take down criminals whereas Gwen continues her father's legacy to make New York a safer place and of course Peter and Gwen develop a romance over time.
Anyway, what do you think about this idea for an AU? It in an interesting idea to explore?

Hi, I can't find a fic but I remember that Peter goes to interview in Stark Industries with fake name and fake Date of Birth (The name was I guess Ben Edward Smith). Ned helped him to create fake certificates and Pepper Parker, Tony Stark and Happy Hogan themselves take his interview and asked him about this lie. Tony accepts him into internship as he has really good project. Please help me find this pic in ao3
sorry for the wait, this is for you!

gonna make little chapter recaps while i reread what's posted of homeward bound so far. and then i am going to bust out chapter seventeen. might not finish it this weekend, but i hope to get a majority of it written. let's get into it.
starting with chapter one - i'm so tired of being afraid
word count: 7,535 (7,515 without the chapter lyrics at the start)
chapter song: six by sleeping at last
chapter lyrics:
what would it feel like to put this baggage down? if i'm being honest i'm not sure i'd know how
recap + lines i felt were important enough to jot down:
peter moves into his new apartment (december 2024)
peter decides that needs to be alone
"when he's alone, there's no one to let down but himself."
peter looks up norman, otto, max, flint, and curt as a precaution now that he knows they turned into villains in the other worlds
norman and otto: started oscorp together during the five year gap between snaps, but have not gotten very far due to the world mourning the half of the population that's gone and also because stark industries is already a powerhouse in all the industries that oscorp is trying to step a foot into. peter deems them not a threat for now but will occasionally check on them just to be safe.
max and flint: peter is unable to find records of anyone with their names when looking them up. that's doesn't guarantee they don't exist in this world, they could have different names or something like that, but peter finds no trace of them and feels like it's safe to assume they don't exist here. he'll still check again occasionally to see if anything pops up down the line.
curt: a professor at empire state university with no signs of any of the things that happened in the other world happening to him here. again, peter will check occasionally to make sure, but overall he thinks that his world is most likely safe from these five people becoming villains like they did in the other peter's worlds.
peter looks into empire state university after looking up curt and thinks about how he'd like to go to college. it's always been part of his life plan. his life is completely different than what it was ever supposed to be and he'd need to get his GED, but he thinks about how he'd like to still go if he can make it work.
peter decides he needs to remake his suit, partially because he other suits can't be used anymore now that karen doesn't recognize him - edith doesn't recognize him anymore, either, which makes peter sad because he feels like he's lost a connection that he had with tony after tony's death - but he also wants to remake his suits because he knows the other peter's made their own from suits from scratch as well, so he thinks it's pretty fitting and thinks that it's kind of like he's building himself up from scratch and starting over for good - "...as both Peter Parker and as Spider-Man"
"and karen not knowing him feels a lot like losing another friend."
he includes peter 2 and peter 3 in his suit design to honor them and remind himself that, even if he is alone in his world, he isn't alone in the universe.
raimi spidey emblem on his chest:
Tumblr media
and tasm spidey emblem on his back:
Tumblr media
"when peter gets lost, or angry, or overwhelmed... he has reminders of them, interwoven into his suit, for him to brush his fingers against and think to himself, be strong, peter. do it for your brothers."
peter had an uncle ben in his world, but his uncle ben died less than two years after his parents did when he was six and a half years old. peter thinks about how his uncle ben impacted his life in a much different life than the other peter's. his uncle ben's last words shaped his morals and his outlook in life, to the point that, when tony first showed up to recruit peter for germany, he had used his own wording based on what ben said to explain why being spidey is so important to him.
"he remembers ben shrugging, remembers him smiling, remembers him saying, "if i didn't help, it'd be my fault, too." the way he said it had been so simple, so sure - a philosophy he fully and passionately believed in."
actually just this whole section feels very important to me so i'm going to copy and paste it right here:
In a way, Uncle Ben played a significant part in Peter becoming Spider-Man, but not in the same way that the Other Peter’s seemed to be influenced by their Uncle Ben’s. Peter remembers that he didn’t think much of the last words he heard his Ben say for a while, but that they seemed to click in his head around the time he was nine or ten, and suddenly they were words he wanted to live by. Doing good, and getting in the way to stop bad things, no matter how big or how small, because then it’d be his fault, too, if he didn’t.
It’s what he told Mr. Stark, back when he was still fourteen almost fifteen and the man had appeared in his apartment. When you can do the things I can, he had said—not exactly what Ben had said, no, kind of added onto by Peter, altered with the weight of Spider-Man stacked on top of the same philosophy he already lived by—but you don’t, and then the bad things happen… they happen because of you.
It’s not what the Other Peter’s talked about, though—because Ben didn’t tell Peter that great power comes with great responsibility. Aunt May told him that. But, for the Other Peter’s, it had been an Uncle that lived longer than his own did.
Then again, the Other Peter’s didn’t have the Avenger’s, and they never had Mr. Stark. Maybe it’s just different because each world isn’t supposed to be the same, and that’s all there is to it.
also may's line from right before ben died, which peter later tells harley about when telling harley the truth about his life:
“You stupid Parker men,” May had scoffed. “Way too selfless for your own good.”
peter thinks that it feels important that uncle ben had such a huge role in shaping who he is, and how the ben's of the other worlds had such a huge part in the other peter's lives as well, even if it was in vastly different ways. he then thinks about how, out of the very few things that peter was able to get out of his and may's old apartment before it was cleared out, one of them happened to be a box of uncle ben's old stuff - including, at the very top of the box, ben's old camera.
peter learns how to use ben's camera to take pictures properly in order to then take pictures of himself as spidey to sell to the daily bugle. he thinks it's amusing and ironic that the pictures he takes are used for articles that slander spidey, knowing that jjj would probably lose his shit if he knew he bought the pictures from spider-man himself.
"everything seems to be trial and error these days - life was never a certainty before, but now it's pretty clearly up in the air and he's left scrambling to try and figure it out, approaching every corner completely blind to what he'll find when he turns it - but that's alright, because he's got the brain of a scientist and trial and error could just be another term for experiment, so it works out well."
that ^ quote is a nice tie in to the tony flashback that happens in chapter 16, where tony calls peter an observer and says that peter is always gathering information and how peter looks more than most people do because peter likes to be prepared and likes to understand.
peter spends new years eve alone (new years, 2024) and watches the fireworks while thinking about the other peter's not being alone before going back to patrol.
peter gets his first Big Injury since ending up completely on his own. he has no one to call and he has no super pain killers like the ones tony had made for him before tony died. the injury starts at his left hip, goes over his ribs, stops at the center of his chest. it was done with a knife. peter has to stitch himself up. it's the first time he's ever done stitches on himself.
he passes out after finishing the stitches and wakes up almost a full day later. thinks about his healing and how his enhancements are definitely being negatively impacted by his lackluster eating habits - he's broke as fuck and also doesn't have much of an appetite due to being traumatized and depressed.
"part of him wonders how drastic a change it really is - wonders if, maybe, the scars will stop fading away. for some reason, that's the thought that makes him feel sick to his stomach."
fun fact: this injury is the one that peter tells harley about in chapter 15 when harley is asking about some of peter's scars.
and that's the end of chapter one! these little recaps are entirely for my own benefit - the only reason i'm posting them is because giving myself the expectation and responsibility of posting them will make me actually commit to recapping every chapter, which will make working on chapter seventeen a lot fucking easier and will make it so i'm able to finish chapter seventeen a lot fucking faster.
i will be reblogging with the chapter two recap shortly

Great Power Great Obligations
Tumblr media
Author’s Notes: A very radical and sharp departure from my usual content but it ended up being pretty dope.
Marvel Universe 040100
Freshman year
Peter Parker trailed behind his friends Harry Osborn, Eddie Brock, and Gwen Stacy. As he walked he tripped on the stairs to the second floor of the Connors laboratory.
"Come on Peter hurry up," Harry said. As the young freshman scrambled for his glasses he heard an unfamiliar voice say,
"whoa there, you need some help." the voice was feminine which was odd to Peter usually girls don't talk to him. Peter got up and put on his glasses to see the Hot Junior Felicia Hardy looking over him. She smiled admiring his green eyes. "You're Peter Parker right?" she asks.
Peter nods stunned. Felicia smiles again and takes his arm, before writing her number.
"I hear you're pretty good at the science stuff, could you help me with my AP exam?" Peter nods slowly again processing that Felicia was talking to him of all people.
"Not a big talker?" Felicia asks cutely as she tilts her head to him, her white hair cascades in a way that makes Peter's heart race. Felicia laughed and said,
"Well buddy when you can speak text me. Let's set up a time I could use your genius brain with some physics help." Peter dumbfounded gave Felicia a thumbs up as she laughed and walked away.
"You're such a dork." Peter turned behind him to see Eddie and Harry waiting for him. He ran up the steps to follow them. They rush to the presentation by Connors and Reed Ritchers discussing a new nano cloth they were working on that was bulletproof, and self-assembling/repairing. Peter watched amazed despite this not being the first time he had seen it. Heck being one of the many students in Reed Ritchers school programs he had seen a lot of this work but like a kid in a tech shop, he stood in awe every single time. When the three boys meet up with Gween at the presentation she frowns as she sees them.
"Where were you three?" Gwen demands.
Harry laughed as he explained, "Watching Peter get hit on by Felicia Hardy,"
Gwen raised her eyebrows in confusion, as she asked"The Hot Junior who's set to graduate early?"
"The One and Only" Harry responded.
"Yep she asked for Peter's help with "physics" Eddie teased Peter as he poked his elbow.
"Ugh Eddie you're unbelievable," Gwen responded. Eddie laughed at his poor joke before they sat down for the presentation. While sitting Peter took out his camera and took a few pictures for his online blog he managed where he discussed and talked about the most recent tech advancements going on across the states. He had done little pieces on Tony Stark, Bruce Banner (before his untimely accident in New Mexico), Reed Ritchers (obviously), and Shuri of Wakanda, and now he would be talking about Curt Connors.
As he finished taking his pictures he felt a pinch on his hand. He turned to see his right hand had an uninvited visitor. It was a red and blue Spider. he sighed and did the responsible thing and took out a piece of paper in his notebook before shooing the little spider away. As He did he watched his classmate and fellow K-pop stan Cindy Moon run out. They had talked a couple of times before but nothing too significant. When he got back Dr. Conners was finishing up his explanation of the gene-spliced spiders he had created. Having the DNA of Spiders, ants, beetles, and grasshoppers to make perfect animals. His goal with this experiment was to prove gene splicing as a concept for regenerative therapy for "damaged individuals." Peter watched amazed at how they were able to help these animals using their stem cells alone. He wondered what the process was like. As he watched he took a few more pictures of everything before putting his camera away.
As they moved through the lab Peter chatted with Cindy Moon and a young kid by the name of Miles Morales who was also on the field trip with his school. Peter knew Miles’s (Jefferson Davis) dad through his Uncle Ben and Commissioner Stacy. All three of them stopped to chat in the insect/ arachnid room. However, as they were talking Kurt Connor’s employee was running tests on the splicing chambers making sure they were firing off correctly, by doing test runs… you probably see where this is going.
Without much thought, he fired off the insect splicer with all three still present inside. When Kurt found the three children two hours later. He lost it, finding the employee and promptly firing him.
“What the hell Herman why didn’t you check the section?” Connors said to his employee after the incident
“You said it would be empty,” Herman responded.
“No, I said it should be empty but still do a check.”
Herman hesitated before Connors fired him. Certifiably pissed as he was carried out of the lab he yelled to Connors. “You’re gonna rue the day you fire Herman Schultz. You hear me Connors?” He yelled dramatically but Kurt didn’t care all he cared about was hoping the kids were safe.
Flash forward 4 weeks later Cindy, Miles, and Peter are out of the hospital and recovering from being gene-spliced. They were all fine just severely fatigued.
According to their doctor, they were fine. Surprisingly their DNA wasn’t scrambled as the splicer was only meant for use on insects and arachnids. When Peter got home to Aunt May he had a pleasant surprise for him waiting. A PS3 and Felicia.
Felicia had been visiting every day after school because she was the one to see it happen to Peter and felt responsible for him. She’s the reason that the three were found so quickly. So when she heard he was getting out of the hospital today she signed herself out of school and drove to Aunt May’s house.
Before Peter arrived Aunt May and Felicia had a nice little chat. Aunt May learned to love Felicia during her little visits.
She was academically gifted and hard-working, and despite her father’s criminal history, Felicia was an angel. She helped Aunt May with Dishes and cooking dinner. She secretly hoped Peter would end up with her instead of Gwen but she’ll never admit it, but I digress.
Before Peter returned home Felicia and Aunt May were having a conversation about their pasts.
“So how long has Peter been with you?” She asked hesitantly. Aunt May smiled and replied since
“Since his 5th birthday,”
“What happened to his parents?”
“They died in the Second Iraq War. It was hard at first. He was so small at the time. So small and quiet. When he used to be a motormouth. He used to prattle on about all of the amazing technology that his dad and mom were working on and couldn’t wait to be back in NYC. Whenever his mom and dad would call. It also was hard when Ben died last year.”
Felicia’s face was stern as she listened, “What happened to his uncle?” she asked
“Colonel Cancer.”
Felicia swallowed hard. She knew of Benjamin Parker due to his time as the commissioner of NYPD, during her father’s tenure as a cat burglar. By all accounts including her father’s, he was a stand-up guy and a valued member of the force. A Vietnam and Gulf War veteran. Who despite that stood up for what was right.
He was one of the first to push back against the war on drugs pushed by Reagan at the time, and was pushing for police reform before he had to retire, and was replaced by Captain Stacy who eventually caught her Father. It made her see Peter in a different light. As she contemplated all of this the door opened and Peter walked in. Both Aunt May and Felicia ran to hug him. Confused as to Why Felicia was here
Sophomore Year
Tumblr media
Before heading out to the wrestling ring Peter got a call from Aunt May.
“Are you ready for tonight?” Aunt May asks
Peter replied
“I always am Aunt May.”
Aunt May smiles and then says,
“Good now remember to crack some skulls but be careful.”
Peter Rolls his eyes and says,
“Okay Aunt May I will “
As he ends the call he prepares to go out to the ring when his buddies; Luchador El Tigre, and Daniel Fenton approach.
“You’re adorable Parker,” Daniel says
“Thanks, Danny,” Peter says as he gets suited up.
“You ready for your first championship?” El Tigre asked and Peter Nodded
“Well then let’s go Showstopping Spider-Man.” El Tigre responds and Peter smiles. After the match, Peter gets paid. His girlfriend Felicia Hardy waits for him outside the lockers. He smiles but notices the cuts and scrapes. Peter frowns.
“Who did this?” Peter asks coldly. He is surprised when she hesitates.
Felicia hesitates then says, “Don’t laugh,” before saying, “A giant lizard in the sewer”
Peter nods and says, “Okay show me where.” Felicia looks at him confused, and Peter’s response is
“Someone beat up my girl, they need to get beat up,” Peter said calmly. Felicia was surprised by Peter’s boldness but appreciative. The two suit up and travel to the location. On the way, they see a giant Lizard tearing through Brooklyn. He looks at black Cat who nods and Peter responds,
“I don’t know what I was expecting but this wasn’t it.” Black Cat laughs as the two of them jump down to face the monster. It looks at the two and then focuses on Peter.
Peter jumps out of the way and swings to the nearby wall. He watches as the giant lizard jumps up to him and begins climbing. Peter freaks out and starts running up the building wall. He turns back to the lizard and says,
“Listen here buddy wall crawling is my thing. He jumps over to the building across the way and thinks to himself, “You know having webbing would make this easier.” He falls onto a nearby car owned by one J Jonah Jameson.
Peter quickly gets up and manages a lucky kick on the giant lizard to knock it out. He breathes a sigh of relief as Felicia comes down.
“Smooth,” she teases.
Peter sighs laughing as he gets up to go with Felicia to approach the body. Peter turns it over and marvels as it shrinks from the giant lizard to Kurt Connors. Peter groans as he rolls his eyes under his mask. He carries Connors back to his lab where he’ll talk to him tomorrow. He has an AP test tomorrow.
Junior year
Tumblr media
Peter sat stumped on his college application essay. Felicia sat in the back for moral and literary support.
“It can’t be this hard babe. You’re spectacular how are you having such trouble describing how unique you are.” Felicia asked Peter threw up his hands in frustration. Felicia laughed and said
“Come on babe. you know 4 languages, hold the New York State varsity wrestling championships for 3 years, and have been on an internship with 3 out of the 5 smartest people in the world. What’s stopping you?”
“Mostly all the parts about how much that ties to Spider-Man.” Felicia nodded now seeing the problem, and she switched places with Peter after kissing him.
“Okay tell me everything.”
2.5 hours later Felicia was able to help write a coherent essay that divorced Peter’s accomplishments from Spider-Man’s despite them being the same person.
“Here little spider,” Felicia said as she handed the rebuilt laptop to Peter (Peter had rebuilt most of the electronics in Aunt May’s house at this point) Peter read the essay and smiled,
“Thanks, Cat.” He says before they are transported away. When both come to consciousness they see that they are surrounded by other heroes. There are a couple of X-men(ice-man, Havok, Wolverine, and Charles Xavier) the Fantastic Four, Deadpool, Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America, and Black Panther. Spider-Man and Black Cat.
Peter looks around confused. Then he saw across the room Victor Von Doom, hobgoblin, Magneto, Juggernaut, Mystique, pyro, Cassandra Nova, Red Skull, Abomination, the leader of the ten rings, Annihilus, Mister Sinister, Taskmaster, Venom, and Claw.
Having seen enough shonen he instantly started saying, “No, no, no. I am not being entered into a Super Secret Wars battle tournament. I just finished my application for Columbia and I don’t have the time to lose here.” Peter said loud enough for everyone to hear. Victor Von Doom turned to Peter and said.
“You are preparing for secondary education? Doom commands your hard work Spider-Man,” taken aback Peter says, “Thank you”
“Champions of the Earth I am the Beyonder and I am here to test you,”
Peter still stressing about his academic future asks if this tournament will affect the time flow of regular space.
“No Spider Champion. When the tournament is over you will hear returned to your proper time and context without the injuries sustained in this (the Beyonder turns to Peter) Secret Wars I believe you called it.” The Beyonder said.
Peter sighed as sat down on the ground
“Do I have time to suit up?” He asked the Beyonder nodded
“You will be given one hour to prepare yourselves before I return each of you here.” Peter nods along with all the other heroes and villains.
Before they can be teleported back Johnny asks the Beyonder to wait before approaching Peter.
“You still need a new suit right?” He asks, and Peter nods, before looking back at Venom.
“Okay well, I have something for you,”
“It better not be another bombastic bagman suit,” Peter replies. Johnny smiles.
“Oh no it won’t,” Peter flinches at Johnny’s calm attitude.
An hour later Johnny hands Peter a wrist brace. Peter takes it confused.
“What is this?” He asks.
“Come on you know what to do.” Johnny teases. Peter scowls at Johnny but Johnny remains strait faced.
Peter sighs knowingly. He puts on his web shooters, then puts the wrist brace on.
“It’s voice-activated,” Johnny said cracking a smile. Peter sighed again before turning on the spiderizer
“Spider Change!” Peter yelled as in the flash of .0004 of a second a new suit materialized over his body. Only Johnny, Black Cat, Black Panther, Venom, Victor Von Doom, and Magneto laughed knowing what just happened while everyone else looked confused as to finish the transformation Peter said.
“The Emissary of Hell Spider-Man” Peter Parker yelled as his transformation completed, and cringed as it was a reference to the old Spider-Man show Toei made in the 70s that inspired Peter Hero's name now. The Beyonder smiled at the young Champion before whisking him Black Cat, Venom, and Hobgoblin to an arena.
Venom and Hobgoblin squared off against Spider-Man and Black Cat.
“Begin,” the Beyonder said in a heavily modulated voice. Venom Charged at Black Cat while Hobgoblin went after Spider-Man. Realizing he could go all out and not have to worry about the consequences Spider-Man made two web strings behind the hobgoblin and launched himself as hard as into a dynamic entry kick. Hobgoblin got kicked so hard that he passed out. In that moment he realized that fighting with Peter may have been a bad choice and yielded then and there. Spider-Man then turned his attention to Venom who watched that interaction and Venom responded,
“We don’t want anything to do with that.” Spider-Man sighed as he got up realizing that he had been holding back a bit too much probably. As Venom and Hobgoblin looked at him in abject Terror.
“yes, Spider-Man! Doom Approves of a show of strength,” Victor Von Doom said Clapping and cheering for Spider-Man.

“Babe, where are you?” Felicia asked
“I'm swinging in right…” A shockwave blasted Peter out of his swing. He looks up to see shocker when he recovers.
“Long time no see kid,” Shocker says
“Kid I’m 100% adult now Herman,” Spider-Man chides. Shocker laughs and hits Spider-Man with another blast. Spider-Man dodges. He gets up and says, “Look Shocker I have an important engagement I don’t have time to fight so I’ll pretend I didn’t see you this one time, but if I hear you hurt anyone in whatever petty scheme you’re doing you’ll regret it.”
Shocker laughs and says, “What if I wanted to give you your birthday hits,” he said as he blasted Spider-Man (attempted to) 17 more times. Spider-Man using his Shield web construct blocks an attack to throw a web club at Shocker knocking him out. He webs shocker up before racing to the sanctuary. He changes into his mourning suit and finds Felicia.
“Okay, I’m here,” Peter says as he walks in with Felicia. Felicia scowls before seeing the already healing black eye.
“Who was it?” Felicia asks
“Shocker,” Peter answers quickly
Felicia rolls her eyes and replies“Of course.” They walk into Aunt May’s funeral where Peter Speaks first. He gazed across the crowd trying to find the right words to say. Despite being “prepared” he felt adrift. The death was finally hitting him, well all of them. He had no more family to go to. No mom, No dad, No Grandparents, no Aunt, no Uncle. He was all alone.
“I had hoped to not be here so soon, but when it’s our time we don’t get a say when,” Peter began. He paused and looked to Felicia for support. She smiled as did Eddie, Gwen, Harry Norman, Commissioner Stacy, Reed Richards, Jefferson Davis, Otto Octavius, Victor Von Doom, Johnny, Sue Storm, Ben Grimm, Kurt Connors, Tony Stark, Bobby Drake, Emma Frost, Steve Rogers, Scot Summers, and found his words again.
“I had hoped to not be here so soon, but we often don’t get a choice in when we go or what we are called to do. So here I am and here all of you are. Aunt May was a pillar of this community and I hope that her memory will be honored along with her husband my Uncle Ben. They believed in the best of this country and hoped to see it realized. While they were alive they gave their hearts bodies minds and souls to that mission and now it’s my job to keep it going, but it’s not all on me. Each of you here has benefited greatly from their kindness and charity so I challenge you to partner with me in keeping to their legacy and honoring their memories by committing to make the world a better place.” Peter finished, as he sat down Felicia Grabbed his hand and smiled.
Felicia brought Peter in for a hug before saying “You did great little spider,” Peter smiled and let out three silent tears in her arms.
The motto of his family rings in his head,
“Those with the most power have the most responsibility to do right!”
