Finding out an online figure is having/just had a kid is just a very “FOR THE LOVE OF GOD KEEP THEM AND THEIR FACE OFF THE INTERNETTTTT (and also please don’t turn into a family channel or some shit)” situation

#Yea sure everyone should play it safe but if you have a big viewerbase it’s even more vital #esp for visual formats like videos where your kids actual appearance can be seen #esp because people will get parasocial and that includes toward the kid #congrats on the kid they don’t need to be presented online #no fears #’’this person will suddenly make everything about their kid despite us being here for something else and ignore the kid’s privacy #and lack of consent to being filmed for the internet’’#one fear #vena vents #not art #also I see a human baby and my interest flips into the negative for whatever it is #that’s a me thing though bc my brain is fsr wired to get an uncanny valley response from them #also babies are boring and I can smell them through the screen

#gael garcía bernal #letters to juliet #ggb filmography gifs #gael garcia bernal #ugh #gael plays the fiance she dumps two-thirds of the way into the movie #although her eventual romantic interest is supposedly english #he is played by an australian #and it's not that his accent is BAD exactly #but it's in that uncanny valley of accents where it's just slightly off #and listening to it is like nails on a blackboard #this may have prejudiced me but i found that character dull and irritating #this was a film gael did shortly after the birth of his first child #when (he's subsequently said in interviews) he felt extra pressure to work and bring in money #and separately i've seen an interview with amanda seyfried where she says she made this movie because she wanted to buy a house #so basically everyone here was in it for the paycheck #i mean it's POSSIBLE vanessa redgrave thought it was the highlight of her artistic career i suppose but somehow i doubt it #plus points: the movie doesn't suggest there's anything WRONG with gael's character #just that the two of them aren't really compatible #which they certainly aren't if she's interested in bland blond guys #actually i'd be about 500% more interested in a hypothetical movie about gael's character than i am in the actual movie #i hope his restaurant is a success #less hypothetically también la lluvia (which is coming up next) was the same year as this and is several thousand percent more interesting #can you tell i didn't like this

In my opinion Curse of Chucky has the creepiest design for Chucky, it doesn't matter how many times Chucky is burned, melted, has his face cut in half, gets chopped into tiny pieces and stitched back together again, Curse is the scariest Chucky

In fact I found him so creepy that when Nica's sister peeled that makeup off of him to reveal all the stitches, staples and scars from the previous 2 movies I BECAME LESS SCARED OF HIM

I think the reason he looks so creepy is because without the scars he looks kind of like a real baby/toddler (especially in darker scenes where you can see his doll looking features less) but with something slightly off as of course he is not a real baby/toddler he is a doll, this is what I think is called the uncanny valley

Look at this bastard, look at him and tell me you aren't getting uncanny valley feelings
