How Did I Fall For Unwritten History?

So I’m in a whole relationship right? Like a whole fat ass relationship. Like me plus her equals nobody else . Its kinda dope and kinda like coccaine . If she was a drug I’d take it . She grounds me . She makes love to my mind , heart , and then my body . Her way of words sometimes makes me feel stupid because she uses words I cant imagine using . My vocabulary aint that big . But ask me about math or science ? I’m definitely ya girl . She was my missing piece . If that makes any sense at all . We definitely have our rollercoasters but I’ll killl anyone over her and I stand on that . Best part its with who I chose and not who my parents chose or approved of. I actually dont care whether they approve of me or not. Mom didnt want kids anyways. As she put it, she likes “ a return to sender kid “ I know she used to joke about it but I later found it to be true. So at this point either you like my happiness or you dont. But anyways, So we met the first time at work, Afni Call Center to be exact. She was a bet. By bet I mean with green money with coworkers. So I bet that I would get smashed by this girl and they would each owe me 50 bucks. I mean who can turn down money. Plus she was kinda cute and I know she was watching my little booty when I would walk away . I was 80 pounds lighter when we first met .

But here lately things have gone to shit . I can admit I fucked up . Well in the beginning . I cheated . She found out . But I was honestly gone tell her everything but she found out I broke her heart all that and then some . Since I put all my business out there . Only reason why I cheated was because I wanted a kid . I wanted her for sure but I wanted a kid . As time passed us by I realized she doesn’t want kids at all . So I had to make a decision , kids or stick around for my one true love in my adult life . So I looked her in the face , I probably had tears In my eyes and told her I chose her . She looked at me with confusion for a little and I dont think she anted me to flat out give up kids. But I was gone doe what I had to do to keep her by my side .

Now before we get to me cheating . I had an apartment on Old Morgantown Road . I loved that damn space man . Hard wood flooring . Storage unit . I had a w/d hook up . I had a good apartment and I could afford it and be able to live my best life . Rent was 475 a month . Utilities and water ran me about 80 . So I was well within my budget . But my dumb ass got involved with this man who I thought I could change . I was trying to hear from nobody about nothing . I wasnt trying to hear that he was cheating because I felt like I gave him no reason to cheat . I was giving him everything and then some . Hell I let his stupid ass cousin stay on my couch . So they were living rent free right , I know stupid Kendra always doing dumb shit . I should have opened my eyes but I didn’t .

Well he and I are definitely no longer together . He got my little cousin pregnant . I dont know whats worse . That she knew he was still living with me . That she knew we was kin . That he knew we was still together , fucking and living together and I never ask for a dollar . Or that my bosses had to call me in the office with another one of my cousins and sit me down to tell and show me that he was cheating and she was pregnant . It even shocked me that she tried to question me about my niggas car . Like girl he and I live together so yes maam I’m gone drive his car . and she was in shock to see me in the drivers seat . huh . Aint that funny how it all played out though ? But you know , karma got took his dick for a minute . He got the worst news of his life . His heart was just as shattered as mine . His trust was screwed if not worse than mine . He found out that while he was too busy cheating on me , she was getting knocked down by his cousin . LMFAO SERIOUSLY . He did all that cheating and got that girl pregnant and ended up getting played himself . So while I was his woman , he had a side bitch who had a side nigga , but THE SIDE NIGGA HAD A SIDE BITCH . I hadnt had sex with him in a while because things started getting to me and I was becoming very suspicious so I was still going to get checked anyways . But yea . What a fckd up love hexagon . Crazy how we all worked together . But when I reached my snapping point . I became a little on the ratchet side and called his mom and told her come get her sons belongings because he was homeless again . My cousin didnt have her own spot so somebody had to come take care of him because by that time I was done pretending .

Shit got bad for me mentally . I had me fckd up . I lost my job and went broke because I drank and popped it away . I know definitely wasn’t the right thing but I just wanted to feel numb to everything . I didnt really care how I got high just as long as I as high I was okay and at peace .

Alot of time went by and my past came back . She made me feel safe . And she saw me ; like the actual me . She knew something was up . Hell I gained 50 pounds since the last time we seen each other . But when she came back . I dont know if I was more so excited to see her or trying to fuck her right there on the floor at work . I walked in the door and the moment I seen her ... I didnt care who I was talking to , I think Wanda , I’m sorry boo but I seen my old boo and just had to do it . I could not help myself I had to hug her before I did anything else . I had a little more weight on me too because during our last encounter , hmm hmm , I was a bit smaller and hadnt grown boobs yet . So when she seen me running 90 mph to her ; baby girl was in for a shock .

Time went by and we started seeing each other a little more outside of work . Then she started to spend the night . But when she started doing that , I think I made things a little complicated for her at her moms . I had no intentions of doing so but it kinda got weird because she wasnt coming home very much any more . But yall , when I had her all to myself . Do you know how many times I undressed this girl with my eyes . I mean she standing there fully clothed and I seen EVERY INCH of her thru them clothes . It was bad yall . lol . She kinda eventually sorda moved in ; even though I thought she had already moved in . Time went by and things were okay ya know . We were just in the “ talking “ phase and just filling each other out . She started to grow on me a little more than I planned . and then I wanna say it was my birthday or after ? Baby girl was so drunk . She , our mutual friend , and I went to go grab food and drinks . Weeellllllll , I trapped her into drinking and drinking and drinking . We got home ? and she drank and and got funnier as the night went on . I remember that day like it was yesterday and the videos I have are absolutely the funniest videos I have ever recorded . “ butt clouds “ and the car honk that about gave her a damn heart attack .

Anywho times have went on . We decided to go to hilltop and live there . Who would have thought we would live together because I was stern on not wanting to live with her . It was weird living there . Always wondering if or when we were going to get a roommate . Then ? Thats the first time I ever broke a heart . See , she was always wanting to like distinguish a title. Meanwhile I am petrified of titles and labels and shit . Plus I have labeled myself for so long I didnt want to put a label on she and I . So I waited and waited and waited and decided to test waters . By testing waters meaning , I caught baby fever BAD . LIKE BAD BAD . I wanted a kid so bad I didnt think about talking to her first , I was just hoping one day I could be like , surprise baby we are having a baby ; butttttt I was gonna tell her how I got pregnant IF if actually happened . But she kinda beat me to it . She seen the messages on her tablet and as you know it went to shit from there . I broke her heart . I wasnt sure if or when she would or could ever forgive me . ( its JAn232021 ) and I know she still hasn’t forgiven me for anything . Not sure if she will ever get past it enough to love me love me .

We made it official , May 2019. By that time the only things that mattered to me were building a life with her. Come August 2020 . We got a place together and as time went on, I knew something was wrong but I would rather ignore it than have to go to the doctor because that just aint my cup of tea. I hate doctors.. they always wanna diagnose people with shit. I just didn’t wanna be one of those people so I held out as long as I could before it got to the point of being unbearable . I lost yet another good job . At first they thought it was covid and it wasnt . I tested negative for covid . Then I had like 5 appointments that following week . I was put on all types of stuff . I was throwing up everything . I was crying non stop . I was doing things not in my normal regimen . Thats when things fell harder on her . Harder as in bills , and stress and everything . I became that burden . I became the thing in the relationship that puts everything on the line . I became the complete failure in the relationship .

I wasn’t able to help like I planned . in fact my checks were so small that every pay day because I had all my bills and people I owed money to on auto pay and I kept making promises, put me in the negatives . I was in the negatives for 3 to 4 months . So imagine being the one in the relationship who didnt feel welcome . Who didnt feel like I deserved the love and things like that . All I wanted to do was help out and I couldn’t . Made me want to pack up and wait until I knew she was gone so I could leave . I didn’t know what to do . But I knew I was pretty much of no use . I knew that she resented me . I knew it pushed things back so far it may never come back to normal .

But now , Im better than I was still struggling though . But I have this amazing job . I have a job where I can do my part and not hurt . I have a job where I can finally help out now . But its not enough . I’m not enough . The love is not enough anymore . I have became disposable . I have become the one who broke and shattered her heart and trust in her adult love life . How do I come back from it ? How do I rescue something that may have already died ? Am I worth it ? Am I better off without ? Do I deserve her ? She deserves the world and I want to give it to her I do .

But idk , maybe my mom was right . just maybe the only things I’m good at are singing and laying on my back . Havent accomplished shit yet . Got banned from a job because I tried to put my hands on someone . Got fired from 3 good fucking jobs because of my health .

Im crashing at this point . My future is on edge . I am on edge . this is not cool dude . But I will play the hand I’m dealt . Maybe I will win and marry the woMAN of my dreams . Or maybe I will just fck it up once again . We Will See .

Fast Forward

Chapter 6

The place your Mum picked for lunch was a quaint little farmhouse style tea-room. It was a family business which had only been running for a year or two but the lady serving the tea recognised your Mum instantly and pointed her through to a table which had just been cleared. It overlooked the beautiful wildflower garden which bustled with bees all year round. As soon as you’d sat down the same lady returned with the small menus and asked your Mum how she was getting on with what you presumed to be the title of a book.

You tapped out a quick message to Taron and sent it whilst they finished their catch up, receiving a reply instantly.

“Sorry about that, darling. That’s Julie from book club. Was that Taron texting, is everything alright?”

“It’s fine, they’re good. So what do you recommend on the menu? Or shall we push the boat out and have the full on Afternoon Tea?” You tried to change the subject but you knew it wouldn’t be long before it ended up back on the men in your lives.

“Have whatever you want, it’s all delicious and it’s not like we’re paying for it thanks to your toy boy!”

“Toy boy! Mum, he’s like a year and a bit older than me.” You shook your head as you sat back and looked over the menu quickly.

“Really? He doesn’t look it! Got one of those baby faces though hasn’t he… he’s not the sort you’d usually go for, surprised me a bit actually.”

“I think I’ll get the Afternoon Tea and an extra slice of cake or two, just to taste.”

“Why don’t you want to talk about Taron?” There was no hesitation as she looked up from her menu and fired out her question. “You’re not pregnant, are you?”

“Mum! I’m not pregnant, so stop with all the speculation.”

“Tell me about him then, he must be pretty special to have kept you distracted for so long now.”

“Kept me distracted!? Can we not have one conversation where you don’t take a cheap dig at me every 30 seconds?” You picked your bag up from the floor and placed it in your lap, showing her you were ready to walk out the door if she carried on.

“No, come on. Don’t get wound up. I just meant he’s clearly been taking up all your free time recently and that’s why we never see you or hear from you. Your Dad and I always expected you to move back here within a couple of years, but it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen. I take it he must be making you happy?”

“Yeah he is,” The softness returned to your body as you could answer that one easily and honestly. “I want you to like him. To take him seriously and not… not make a joke out of our relationship.”

“It’s a proper thing then?”

“Yeah, I really love him.”

“Gosh! Maybe he is asking your Dad for your hand in marriage then!”

“What?! Where’d you get that idea from! He’s only just met Dad so there’s no way he’d be asking that… I don’t even think he’s that traditional either! We’ve not even mentioned weddings or getting engaged… well not seriously, anyway.” Your words came out in a nervous rush as you panicked over the possibility.

“Hey, calm down,” Your Mum laughed softly. “I’m sure he’s not. It was a fleeting thought that crossed my mind earlier, that’s all. It was the way he said he had a question he needed to ask Michael and how quickly he wanted both of us out the house. But I’m sure I’m wrong, like you said they’ve only just met and that would be a bold move to make… is he a brave man?” The hot flush had risen to your face rapidly and you started to fan yourself with the menu just as Julie returned to take your order.

“Is it a bit warm in here for you, love? Shall I open the window.”

“No, no, you’re alright. She’s just got a bit panicked about her boyfriend possibly popping the question sometime soon!” Your Mum explained way too eagerly.

“Oh, how exciting!”

“It’s fine, he won’t. I’d know if he was acting shifty. His face gives it all away.” You reassured yourself more than anyone else.

“Oh... So he’s been dishonest before? What with?” Julie asked with intrigue as she pulled up a chair and freely joined in with your conversation to get all the gossip.

“Nothing. It doesn’t matter, shall we order?”

“No, just hold on a second. What do you mean?” Your Mum asked.

“It’s all in the past now, it’s fine. We’re good.” You smiled.

“What did he do?” You Mum saw straight through your smile and gave you that look of concern which is impossible to lie to.

“It was more of a miscommunication than anything else. We hadn’t labelled anything or said we were exclusive, but we’d been seeing a lot of each other so I just kinda presumed… and then found him acting weird and trying to get rid of me because he had another girl in his flat. So I ended things and didn’t give him the time of day for a while.”

“Well…” Your Mum sighed. “I think I’m going to need a glass of prosecco to soften that blow.”

From then on you knew her mind had been made up and that she wouldn’t be able to see past what was exactly that. The past. Her opinion of Taron had been tainted before she’d even got to know him and you knew that meant she’d be reluctant to show much interest for the rest of the weekend. It didn’t matter that he’d grovelled for weeks before you took him back, or that he’d barely put a foot wrong since. She didn’t want to know. If his eyes had strayed once, they were destined to stray again and that was the end of it. It was safe to say her reaction had dampened your mood and no amount of delicious cake was going to salvage it.

Taron knew instantly when you arrived back at the house that something had upset you, but you quietly shook your head at him in a ‘not now’ gesture. It felt awkwardly polite for the rest of the day whenever your Mum and Taron were in the same room together and you hoped for his sake that he didn’t start to overthink it. The small talk was… small. The usual questions about work, the weather, what had been on TV recently. Not once did your Mum ask about Taron’s family, his upbringing, interests or hobbies. You’d hoped your Dad had been more welcoming to him when you were out but you daren’t ask for fear of causing a scene.

You bit your tongue for most of the evening, letting your Mum’s comments slide even when you could feel the rage bubbling beneath your skin. You saw the way she looked at you when Taron put his arm around your shoulder as you sat watching TV and she rolled her eyes when he placed a quick kiss to your temple. She made you feel so uncomfortable around Taron that it was becoming unbearable and as soon as it hit 10pm you made your excuses and started to get ready for bed. Taron followed you out shortly after and joined you in the guest room just as you were starting to undress.

“They’re not that bad.” He spoke softly as he sat on the end of the bed and happily watched you strip down to your underwear. “Your Mum is a bit cold, but your Dad was great this afternoon, we got on really well.”

“Really? That’s good. I’m glad one of them is vaguely normal!”

“It’s alright, your Mum is probably just stressed about your Dad. She’ll warm up with time.”

“Wishful thinking. I had to confess to our relationship getting off on the wrong foot when we went out for lunch, so she’s got your card marked now. I’m sorry.”

“Great,” he rolled his eyes before pulling his top over his head. “I knew something had gone on when you first got back but I didn’t really want to ask.”

“Best not to. She’s never been good with any of my past boyfriends so don’t take it personally; It’s just her. I hate that she gives us daggers every time we touch too, makes me feel like I can’t even kiss you goodnight!”

“We’ll just have to do it when she’s not looking then, won’t we.” He grinned as he invited you to sit on his lap and receive his slow and teasing kiss. His arms wrapped around your body protectively as his tongue met yours and savoured every private second that you could grab.

“That was nice.” All the rage and anger melted away from you with his touch. You kept your forehead resting against his for a moment longer as you sighed contentedly. “I suppose I’d better get to my cold, single bed before I get in trouble for being in here for too long.”

“Put that halo back up for another 24 hours and we can let the devil out tomorrow night, promise.” Taron’s hands caressed over your bum as you stood up from his lap.

“You’re not even going to try and persuade me to stay in here tonight?”

“We both know that you don’t need any persuasion from me, so get gone… I’ll keep your side of the bed warm.” He winked cheekily as he lay back on the double bed and spread his arms out wide.

“So what exactly is happening here?” asked Martin. He put his hands on his hips as he looked between you and Jackson.

You tried hard not to blush and hoped he wouldn't notice your swollen lips. “We were just discussing work.”

“Work?” frowned Martin and shot an ugly look towards Jackson who kept his stare strict and steady at the tall doctor.

Scratching your neck, you dreaded this entire situation. You were ecstatic Jackson was visiting you (despite you always complaining about him, calling him an asshole behind his back - but that was just your fear of getting hurt) and the last thing you wanted was for Martin to ruin it all for you.

When you didn't reply, Martin nodded to himself. “So is me spending the night with a woman acceptable for you? Do you think it's okay for you to be in your apartment with another man?”

You looked at Martin, conflicted. “Martin-”

“No, wait, let me finish,” he snapped, reaching his hand out.

Jackson was in a shock for a minute, stealing a glance at your gentle and yet stiff figure.

“It's so hard to get in touch with you although I am your boyfriend, Y/N,” started Martin and from your peripheral vision you could feel Jackson snap his head at you in pure shock. “I understand you always need your space. You always cry and I don't take it personally - or at least try to - and you are constantly sick in the morning but you wouldn't go for a pregnancy test - although I could get it done for you for free - and I know you need lots of space, so I was giving it to you, but now I'm not entirely sure what you are doing is you breaking up with me or laughing in my face.”

Jackson's heart was thundering in his chest as he tried not to flinch at Martin's words. He felt troubled and hurt as he was looking at your torn face. “Don't misunderstand,” he heard himself say, his voice surprisingly steady. “We were really just discussing work. She needs to quit her job.”

Martin finally paid proper attention to Jackson. “Why would she need to quit her job? Are you her personal consultant or something? Do you work overtime tonight?” he snickered.

Jackson clenched his jaw. “Well, you sure are a thoughtful boyfriend when you don't even know they harass her at her workplace.”

Now, Martin looked at you. “Is that true?”

Your breathing was a little bit quicker and you couldn't meet the gaze of the two men in your apartment. You wished Sara would suddenly kick the door open and come and save you. “As I said before, there was nothing happening. I can take care of my job. Jackson just came to offer me a new position so I asked for some time to think.”

Martin didn't believe it. “What is exactly the relationship between you two?” he asked quietly, squinting his eyes at you. “Because ever since I first met him in the hospital and then in the restaurant, I kind of don't believe there is plain friendship between you.”

Silence.

“We are high school mates,” you heard Jackson reply, his voice deep and raspy. He didn't lie entirely. You did go to the same school in your previous lives. “And as I told you in the hospital that day, it has been a while since we last saw each other.”

“Y/N?” asked Martin strictly.

“Just leave her alone,” interfered Jackson impatiently. “Can't you see she is tired and scared?”

“I can talk to her whenever I want to!”

Jackson came closer to Martin and your heart dropped. “Definitely not with that tone,” he said gritting his teeth.

“It's okay, Jackson,” you mumbled, reaching for his arm. “Don't worry.”

“Is he always treating you like this?” snapped Jackson.

“Excuse me? Nobody would stay beside her with her kind of reciprocity,” exclaimed Martin, his face twisted in disgust.

You froze, looking up at his blue eyes. “What did you just say?”

Jackson was just about to lose his mind.

“Then why did you stay next to me if I was such a bother to be with?” you shouted now, your blood boiling. “If I disgusted you, you would have made me happy if you'd left.”

There. It was out.

There was not way back now and you fully admitted to yourself that you were using him just as a tool to forget about Jackson - Jackson, who was now standing next to you, ready to tear Martin's head off.

“So you could be with him, huh,” laughed Martin, nodding his head towards the singer. “I guess the more money a guy has, the more value he has.”

“What?” you hissed. “That's not true! And anyway, you have just enough money to pay half of the starving world, so shut it,” you snapped. “And get out of my apartment!”

“We are not done yet,” spat Martin. And with that, he stormed out just as quickly as he entered. When the door slammed shut behind him, the silence that fell over you and Jackson was once again loud and unbearable.

Turning to look at him, you saw him looking hurt. “Jackson-”

“You didn't tell me you had a partner,” he stated silently, not meeting your gaze.

Was there a good answer to this question?

“It wasn't that important,” you said, helpless and cringy at the choice of words. “Martin has been in my life for a long time and it was complicated...”

“He was there in our previous life too, though,” answered Jackson. “He was the one who dislocated your shoulder. And then you became friends.”

His recallings startled you. “How do you know?”

“I guess some things are truly supposed to happen,” smirked Jackson but the smile wouldn't quite reach his eyes.

“It doesn't matter at all. Why are we talking about this now?” you asked, exasparated. “I'm so happy you came.”

He looked into your eyes. “But you were with another man the entire time.”

“You told me not to wait.”

He nodded, lowering his head. “I did. I was foolish for hoping you actually would.”

A knife slicing through your heart wouldn't be good enough of a description about how you felt at that moment. “Jackson,” you whispered, coming closer to him, tears threatening. “I hope you are joking.”

“Y/N,” he said seriously, “he freaking thought you are pregnant with his child. How am I supposed to feel now?”

Your face was in pure shock. “No, no, that would never be possible! I get...” you paused, thinking through what youre going to say. You sighed. “I get sick when I get flashbacks of our life... My body can't take it. So I throw up often and he always thought I was pregnant. Gosh.”

Jackson was silent, waiting for you to continue.

“I was always on the pill... But that's not important now!” you said louder.

“Y/N, I should go now,” he said quietly, his eyes suddenly tired and avoidant. “I need time to process.”

He turned around to leave, your cheeks already wet with heart-broken tears. “Jackson,” you whimpered, but he was long gone.

“Oh god, I can't lose you,” you sobbed, your face scrunched up. The physical pain from losing him once again was almost unbearable. You both finally found each other and now he was turning his back on you and that was close to the end of the world for you.

So, just as you were under dressed, you sprinted out of your apartment, not bothering with the doors or the lift. You. Ran. For. Dear. Life.

Pushing the door open, the glass in it almost broke from the impact. The parking lot was quiet at this hour and there was only one simple mission: to find Jackson quickly.

There, in the distance you saw his figure walking towards a decently looking car.

"Jackson!" you yelled and ran even faster. "Jackson, wait!"

He was walking just as handsomely as always. Once he heard you, he turned swiftly, startled.

Your feet were loudly tapping as you landed in front of him. He reached out to stop you from crashing into him. You were breathing heavily. "Jackson," you murmured between breaths.

"What are you doing? It's late and you are not dressed properly!" he hissed, looking around. He took your hand to let you in the car but you refused.

"No!" you said loudly. "You will hear me out!" you gulped, still catching your breath. "I don't love him! I never did! Not like you! Ever!" Breathing. Heavily.

He suddenly became stern, worry wiped off.

"You told me not to wait and then you actually have the decency to be offended when I had another guy!" you shouted. "And what about you, huh? Are you telling me you got never laid-"

"No, I got never laid!" he shouted, surprising you as he stepped closer to you, as if challenging.

"Bullshit!" you cried. "It's bullshit and you know it! You did date, you did have a woman, too, Jackson!"

"She was not important!" he shouted back, angry.

You laughed, clapping your hand once to prove your point. "See? 'Not important'! You use it too. There is no way you didn't have someone beside you. I know you very well. Unlike you, I don't attach so easily to just someone."

Jackson squinted his face. "Are you saying I'm easy?"

"I'm saying you are not playing fair! With all the women you have around you, with all the fame that came and all the money you have! They are all using you and you let yourself because -"

"Because what," he said, his voice deadly low. His face was so close to yours, you had chills all over your arms and back. "Finish that sentence, Y/N."

"Because you like to feel important."

He stayed still, staring at your face.

"Come again."

"You heard me," you folded your arms over your chest. "So what now, huh? Are you saying I'm good now? Because I truly care about you? You have no idea how it was to know you when you didn't know I existed. You don't know what it was to see you and still be unable to talk to you as we used to. I have had enough. If you don't mean it, then go away. If you came to stay, I'm here. But I don't love Martin. I never have. He was just someone I was hoping would be eventually you, whether in the heat of the night or in the early mornings. But it was never you. Nobody could ever replace you for me."

You wiped off the single tear that came out as you stepped away from him. He was in complete shock, his eyes glued to your watery ones.

“How can I compete with others though?” you asked, smiling bitterly. “When everybody wants you...” You paused as you were fidgeting with your hands. “This is all I wanted to say,” you murmured at least, figuring you wont get more of a reaction from him. “Good night.”

Right then, there was a loud thunder just above you. The wind suddenly picked up, bringing dark clouds full of unreleased energy in.

You didn't find it weird one bit. There were usually thunderstorms when something important happened. Just tonight, you thought you and Jackson were finally going to be together, after you kissed, after you made some promises...

And here you were, walking away from him.

“Where is the boss?” someone shouted, holding loads of papers in one hand and a plastic coffee cup in the other. She seemed all around, messy. “We need confirmations!”

You looked curiously around as all the Team Wang staff was running around the beautiful resort that had been rented out, just as Jackson told you. There was a smirk on your face though. You knew the entire resort by heart and unfortunately, Team Wang staff was the only thing that didn’t fit into the picture. Ah, also, there was no Jackson Wang present at the set.

“Jiaer boss will arrive next week,” said his manager that you already knew so well. Your seats were next to each other in the plane so the best way to spend the time was to get to know each other. There was a wonderful undertone in his voice whenever he was talking to you which made you almost certain Jackson said many nice things about you. That made you more than just a random new accountant in the Team Wang Company, for sure.

“He has many schedules,” reasoned the manager to the staff, “so make sure to have everything prepared in perfect condition by the time he arrives so we can show him quality content.”

“Y/N!”

You turned around, searching for the source of the voice.

“We will need you to go through some papers regarding the elephant,” said one assistant with a very soft face. Was she born like that? And also, elephant?!

You blinked at her few times. “Sorry? Me? I’m just a newbie-”

“Jiaer boss told us that you are good to take over the job,” she said in a hurried voice.

Oh, god. “Well, I guess... I am not familiar yet with the team’s dynamics and also what is the general spending of the company-”

She interrupted again. “Jiaer boss is alright with whatever decision you make. Can we proceed now?”

Gulping, you nodded, clueless. What on Earth was Jackson doing? What was all of this about? He wanted you to take over and whatever decision you found suitable, he would be okay with it, too.

Your heart was beating fast at the thought that he was being serious with you.

Since the last time you had a big fight and you left him standing there in the middle of the night, you scarcely spoke. There was no wonder, he was so busy you couldn’t even imagine how he could find time to go to the loo, do his own personal stuff... how he would unwind his stressed mind. He would contact you with very simple sentences like “are you ok?” “i hope your day will go smoothly today” “eat your meals!!!” and the last message you received from him was also quite simple and yet so straight-forward it made your poor mind dizzy: “i keep thinking about you all the time”.

The next few hours you were making sure all the papers were in its place, you calculated through all the invoices and you quickly realised the budget wasn’t as small as you believed it to be. Jackson had definitely some good amount on him.

You sighed, massaging your temples. “Who would have thought you would end up like this, Jackson?” you muttered with a playful smile on your lips. “If I would tell you this to your fencer-self, you would laugh. And here you are making all of your dreams come true.”

You rested your head down onto the table, sighing once again. “I miss you.”

The models were so professional you felt like cringing about your own self. They looked gorgeous and the camera shots were actually complimenting them.

When they brought in the elephant, you were over the moon at the sight. Everyone got to touch him, to observe him with big, wondrous eyes while the elephant was peacefully swinging his long trunk here and there.

“Such a shame Jackson couldn’t be here for this!” whined one of the models as she was petting the elephant’s head.

You nodded for yourself. He made sure all of you had fun while he was working and would arrive only for the shots that he had to fill in.

Once you had to leave the set for filming, you pulled out your phone. Besides the disappointment that there were no gentle messages from him waiting for you, you wanted to type him one so he would hurry up and be finally there. “I miss you like crazy <3″.

That night, the actresses left the resort as their filming was done. You made sure to let them go on good terms and you felt so nice smiling at them. After all, they would make Jackson’s music video look really catchy and attractive.

Back in the hotel room, you were tired from the long day full of surprisingly pleasant productivity. Everyone around you was so kind and down-to-earth, they were like a family. Nothing like your company you were still working for.

The amazement from Jackson’s Team Wang, his own work, his own employees, his everything was so overwhelming for you but only in good ways. You were so proud of him and the man he became.

You prepared yourself a bath in the massive bathroom that was overlooking the entire bay. Why not enjoying it all to the fullest? You were sure Jackson would want just that from you.

You stripped, ready to dive in when there was a soft knock on the door. You froze, wondering who could it be at this time. It was already quite late and all the staff was tired from the day, why would they want you to count money at this time?!

Swiftly, you put on the night gown and headed for the door. As you opened it, you gasped quietly, when you saw the person on the other side.

“What are you doing here?” you breathed, heartbeat long gone upwards, knees wobbly. Damn. Damn, damn, damn, handsomeness overload 10000%....

He stepped inside, throwing a soft smile your way. You closed the door hastily, short on breath. “Nobody knows I’m here,” he said and then put his index finger to his lips. “So shhhh.”

“But you are supposed to be still in Korea,” you said, stepping towards him. “I missed you. I’m sorry for the fight-”

He put his finger to your lips now. “Don’t. None of it was your fault. I felt so guilty for leaving you behind like that.” He took your hand and brought you closer to him.

“Jackson,” you whispered as you felt his forehead on yours.

“I came as quickly as I was able to,” he whispered back, closing his eyes. Slowly, both his hands sneaked around your waist making your front crash with his. “Your message made me decide that I don’t give two damns about sleep and rest. I needed to be with you. Alone,” he added, sighing and opened his eyes.

“But doesn’t your manager know about your every move?”

His lips quirked up, amused. “Well, I will appear tomorrow just as I was supposed to. But, for tonight, you will have to be my alibi in case something comes up.”

You chuckled and wrapped your arms around his neck. “I missed you. Please, let’s not fight ever again.”

“No,” he said, all too quickly. “Let’s not fight. I believe you, I trust you, I know you and I want you. For myself only,” he muttered, his eyes droopy as they focused on your lips. “I hope you are not with that jerk anymore.”

“I am not,” you nodded. “I ended it. Right after we had a fight.”

“I love you so goddamn much, Y/N,” he breathed, his lips hovering just above yours. You were hoping he couldn’t feel your heartbeat. It was going crazy. “I was such an idiot. God, never ever again.”

“Let’s leave all of it behind. Let’s focus on each other from now on.”

He smiled softly and brought his lips to yours but didn’t touch them just yet. You bent your head, ready for the contact. He bumped into your nose with his, still teasing you by not kissing you. Then, he finally leaned in. You parted your lips when he flicked his eyes back up at yours to see your reaction. His hot breath kept fanning over your parted lips, making you senselessly frustrated. Then, slowly, ever so slowly, he closed his eyes as he finally captured your lower lip, melting you into a Victoria lake full of undeniable love for the man in front of you.

He deepened the kiss as his hands wandered south to squeeze your butt. You yelped into his mouth making him laugh into the kiss. “What is even this?” he asked, pulling your night gown.

“I was going to have a bath just before you interrupted,” you answered truthfully, not liking the loss of contact.

“A bath?” he quirked his brow at you, liking the idea.

You smiled, taking his face into your hands. “Want to join?”

It wasn’t like you haven’t seen each other naked countless times......... in the previous life.

It would be the first time in this life.

But what was different?

A man was a man. A woman was a woman. No third heads, no thirteen fingers.

Jackson was not one to be shy. You took his hand and with a dizzy smile led him into the bathroom that was already in darkness as the sun was now long gone, leaving a burning sky behind. If you wouldn’t have made sure before there were windows, you would have believed the bathroom was literally outside.

You tried out the water’s temperature when you felt Jackson’s hand around your middle, undoing the knot you previously tied quickly. Turning, you grabbed the hem of his black shirt, bringing it up. Neither of you broke the intense eye contact as you were undressing each other. By the end, you were completely naked and he would still stare into your eyes, not bothering to eye you up indecently.

He stepped to you, giving you a lustful kiss. “After you,” he whispered into your mouth, showing his hand to the bath.

The bath was truly big, even a family could fit, who could you kid. This enabled you to move around freely, not having to be in one position.

When you were both inside, you were in Jackson’s embrace, facing each other. You laid your head on his shoulder as he was rubbing your back with care.

“How did you enjoy managing everything this week?” he asked quietly, his voice deep.

You pulled away slightly to see his face. “I can’t believe you are actually okay with me making decisions. You are the boss, the CEO or whatever it is,” you said in disbelief, touching his cheek.

He smiled brightly, his eyes tired. “Well, we are a team. I would trust you with anything including my own life.”

His words left you speechless. It was obvious he was serious, no jokes, no different intentions.

You kissed him again. “And I would trust you with anything. Including myself.”

“Exactly,” he said, smirking. “See? We are a great team.”

You fell into a comfortable silence; his hands circling around your back, your hands on his cheeks.

“I know I proposed here,” he said suddenly. “We got engaged in this very resort.”

You were startled. Your heart was jumping painfully whenever “engagement” and “Jackson” were in the same sentence.

“Don’t worry, I’m not going to propose now,” he added quickly, when he saw your shocked expression. “All I want to say is,” he paused, pursing his plump lips. “One day, it will come. Just like in another life, I’m convinced that you are it. There is so much time we missed out on each other. I am not going to miss out any more.”

“Jackson,” you started. “I know you are busy. I am not going to expect you to be with me nonstop. I understand if you don’t want the relationship status for now.”

“No, that’s not it. I want you by my side. God, I need you with me. However, we are going to have to be a secret. For now at least.”

With that, it made sense. Sometimes, you would completely forget that he was famous and had photographers and fans in his every step.

Everybody wants you...

“I know what you are thinking, and I promise I will never let any bad thing happen to you or be said to you. It’s scary, so you should start preparing mentally already,” he chuckled, petting the back of your head.

You nodded, still dumbfounded at the thought. “As long as we will be together, everything will be in its right place.”

He smiled and pecked your lips quickly.

“Until then, I will always be your alibi.”

Since you both were tired (Jackson especially) you ended the bath session rather quickly and cuddled up in your big double bed, all dried up, smelling like a lavender field.

“I love you,” you said and hugged him, tangling your legs.

“And I love you,” he sighed, half asleep. “So much more.”

5. how do they dress? what styles, colors, accessories, and other possessions do they favor? why?

tbh itd be much more interesting to talk abt how iunia used to dress bcos now shes either wearing armor or her pharasma robes (which are like fancy funeral wear) she and wesviz were honestly like. fashion icons who wore an embarrassing amount of matching couples outfits. she really likes wearing like coral and salmon and peach bcos she feels like her skins too pale but those sort of warm pink and orangish tones bring color back into it. and shed do like dramatic bright makeup, especially eyes (lips were usually a solid tone bcos she and wesviz would match their lip colors to each others shirts) but stopped wearing makeup when she got pregnant bcos she remembered hearing like 10 years ago that wearing makeup when pregnant was bad for the kid. also her hair used to be really long like almost waist length and she cut it really short after wesviz died and kept it short while she was looking for cens and is only just now starting to grow it out again.

(human) ezras got like. a meticulous aesthetic going on that probs takes way more effort than they care to admit in the wasteland. they keep their clothes really really clean, though that starts to get hard after a while, and know enough basic sewing to mend any rips that occur moderately well. anyway its generally like cream/beige/brown/sometimes like yellow or like burnt orange turtlenecks and then prewar dress slacks and loafers. occasionally they wear like a white button down and like dark yellow sweater vest and bowtie, but thats for like special occasions. they definitely shine their shoes. as a ghoul the kind of start to let themself go, wearing this really big cloak w a hood so they can hide their face and stuff but it turns out that a six and a half ft tall figure of ambiguous species in a long menacing cloak and hood draws more attention than a six and a half ft tall ghoul in a tan prewar suit, so theyre doing better now.

8. where and when do they seem most and least at ease? why? how can you tell?

iunia knows a delivery table like the back of her hand. she can get like kind of intense when shes in the birthing zone, really barking orders but you definitely get the sense she knows what shes doing and is in total control of the situation. like shes super deep in her element. its pretty impressive. def uncomfortable in like wilderness or survival areas, prior to the events of coct shes never in her life been outside city limits. constantly looking around her and over her shoulder, holds her gear really tight if shes carrying any.

ezras really good in really pristine, regulated places like the vault. a lot of ppl would consider something that like regulated and controlled dystopian or monotonous but they fit really well into the machine. ezra as a person can get into fanatical territory really really quickly so like all hail the overseer and that sort of thing is something they really get into. so they of course like really have no idea how to act in a lot of more like rough and tumble sort of rugged wasteland towns. it was the first time theyd sort of been in a situation where a lethal fight or something breaking out was an actual possibility, and it scared them half to death.

14. What do they care deeply about? What kind of loyalties, commitments, moral codes, life philosophies, passions, callings, or spirituality and faith do they have? How do these tend to be expressed?

mm iunias really conflicted here bcos she always feels like the temple and stuff should be her number one priority, that her past life is exactly that–in the past. but at the same time i feel like if theres a situation where she has to choose between her goddess and her son (and knowing how devious avery is, im fully expecting there will be) shed go with the latter. no matter what. in terms of more like general talk on faith and spirituality, shes definitely very devout and she can absolutely come off as like im blanking on the word like pushing OH proselytizing she can come off as proselytizing but i feel like so much of it is unconscious? like even if shes not actively trying to like convert someone her faith is such a huge part of her identity and it bleeds into a lot of how she interacts w the world.

lmao iunia and ezra just happen to be like my two most religious characters so good question. ezra is like unbearably classic lawful good they just really want to help people like definitely in terms of humanitarian aid but also smaller stuff like being really nice to people, making themself available as a shoulder to cry on, things like that. wrt religion ezras definitely very devout but they feel. super uncomfortable discussing faith w anyone other than their dad (and i havent finished fo3 but if theres another character whos very into like faith and stuff them too) so for them its more below the surface, esp compared w iunia

19. how do they behave within a group? what role(s) do they take? does this differ if they know and trust the group, versus finding themselves in a group of strangers? why?

iunia is definitely really like cold professional, but the best way to work w her is to give her a job and then just dont interfere w however she does it. i dont think id consider her a leader, but shes good at like timetables and organization so its definitely helpful to have her in a position where she can keep everyone on track in some capacity. i think the only change were the group to go from strangers to friends is that shes a little more flexible and willing to get input from friends whereas if a stranger (who often times would be 15~ yrs younger than her) did anything to imply that she wasnt competent shed be like. like you shouldnt do that. iunias so many things but incompetent is so incredibly not one of them.

ezras definitely gonna work better in a small group where theres not a lot of variation in goals and morals (theyre pretty flexible on specific means and stuff of getting a job done, with some hard rules on violence and stuff) and a lot of the time w/o a definite leader. if there is a leader theyve gotta play into that like zealous god-worshipping side of ezra and be like larger than life if they want unwavering support.

39. what sort of questions or thoughts recur in their lives, either specifically or as a theme? why are these never answered, or answered permanently to their satisfaction?

iunia wants to know why everyone leaves her. and given that her ongoing story is yet to start, i cant quite answer the second part of that question.

ezra deals a lot i guess w sense of self and identity? they definitely struggle w navigating life w/o their dad, both when he leaves the vault and after he dies. they define them self a lot thru how other ppl view them, and their dad is pretty much like. idk if i want to use like medical terms but id call him their fp. and so w/o him to sort of reassure them and tell them who they are, they have no idea.

Fitness Struggle: Inner Demons

I, like alot of people struggle with my weight and being healthy. Most of my life I have been unhappy with my body. There was about 1 yr there where I was head over heels for myself though. I was in a very unhealthy relationship and my partner made me feel so uncomfortable in my own skin that I spent all my time and effort trying to make him happy with my body by getting in shape. It worked. I was eating clean healthy meals, working out 6x a week- my body was incredible. I was 5′5″, 135lbs, and a built like a goddess- an athletic goddess. For the first time in my life I was happy with my reflection and he was happy with it too. I was in a “good place” emotionally. Then we get married and decide to start a family.

Our relationship began to deteriorate once I was pregnant, thus began a slippery slope of emotions and no control over what was happening in my life or to my body. Somewhere in there I became an emotional eater. Most of my life I had never been very heavy- just chunky and overall sloppy looking. By the time my daughter was born I was 212lbs. I was huge. A couple of months later we are getting divorced, the custody battle and life in general has been chaos ever since. She just turned 4 and I still weigh 212lbs. I’ve yo-yoed around alot, but lately (the past year) I’ve just been steadily gaining and not improving.

The worst part is that i know EXACTLY what I need to do and how to do it and how long it takes, etc. But I just can’t find it in me to stay with it. My life has been cascading out of control since we divorced (turns out he’s a literal sociopath). I’ve actually has to fall off the grid and disappear from everyone I know to hide from him so he cannot destroy me further. So here I am- living somewhere where I know 1 person (my boyfriend of 3.5yrs) with no friends, no motivation, and a massive pile of emotional scars and demons that play in my head constantly.

I feel disgusting. I’ve never hated the way I look more than I do right now. I’ve never hated myself so much for having that happiness with my body and letting it slip away. I look like I’m still pregnant and due any time now. I have extra chins now. I’m embarrassed to me naked and intimate with my partner. All these things that stress me out- lead to me making more unhealthy choices. The anxiety of going outside and having people see this version of me is crippling. It keeps me from engaging and making friends. It keeps me from being myself and living my life. Its a vicious cycle that I can’t figure out how to stop.

The incredible man I’ve been with all this time, has never once done anything short of telling me how beautiful he thinks I am and that he’ll love me forever no matter how I look. I wish I could love myself the way he loves me. I almost feel like I need that unheathy pressure of not being good enough to get me back into shape. I know I feel that way everyday. Like I don’t deserve his love because of how gross I look. I totally understand that there are plenty of people whose struggle is worse than mine. There always will be. But other people’s suffering- doesn’t change the way I feel inside. It doesn’t hurt any less. I’ve been hurting my whole life about alot of different things that I cannot control. I just want to stop adding to my own misery. There are so many aspects of my life that are deeply impacted by how insecure I am. I just want to feel good about myself again.

I’ve recently opened up to my partner about seeking his help in my goals. Not in an unhealthy way by treating me like I’m not good enough, but a way that helps hold me accountable to someone other than myself. I will go above and beyond to not let someone else down, but I apparently couldn’t care less if i do it to myself. We will see how that goes. I’d be lying though if i said I thought it would work. If I’m being honest- I guess I just don’t feel worth it. I feel so terrible about myself for how my life has unfolded that I feel like I don’t deserve to be happy. That feeling this way is my punishment. I don’t know how to just let go of all my sorrow and take a step forward. During the divorce I was forced to give up my daughter to her father for her own safety. If you don’t have any experience with sociopaths i HIGHLY recommend you research and know what to look out for so you don’t end up in my situation. The loss of my daughter has been unbearably painful. I am so deeply saddened every day. It is all I can think about most of the time. I don’t know how to find it in myself to devout enough of myself to getting in shape when it feels like I have nothing good to give. It feels like I’ll be this sad forever. The loss of her in my life feels alot like grief, when a loved one dies. The endless pain in your heart to be with them again, but you cant. It has by far been the hardest thing I have ever done, but it was the only way to keep her safe.

I don’t know how to carve a path through all of these feelings to find some motivation to eat healthy and workout. It feels like the only comfort i can feel is that momentary bliss of some really delicious food. It’s like its the only tiny break I get from the heartache. I honestly can’t find the strength to give it up, because then I have no release, just infinite sadness to drown in. Its so incredibly overwhelming. I never knew love like this existed. I didn’t know I could love something so much until she was born and i knew i’d die for her if need be. It feels like dying. It feels like I lose more and more of myself every day to the grief. Just not physically- I definitely keep finding more of that.

I know it’s probably pointless to ask but if anyone has any advice, ANY advice on how to take a step forward from this and move in a healthy path- I am completely open and ready to listen. I don’t want to hurt this much anymore, not about the things I do control. I know that once I start making progress I’ll stick with it- but I can’t seem to hold on long enough to make it even that far. I need help, I don’t know what else to do here. Thanks for listening..

It makes no sense as a lot of people have licenses for ID only and do not have a car (because they aren't allowed or can't drive): By law if you have a driver's license you are supposed to carry insurance whether you own a vehicle or not. It's usually called non-owner's liability coverage. Because of this law they would be able to suspend your license if your company cannot provide proof that you have coverage.
