@umbrellabancho asked:
❛ you look like you could use a hand with that. ❜
"There's a lot of books that needs to be taken to the library, and I know I can't do it all by myself so any help is definitely appreciated!" She says softly, grateful the guy was there to see if she needed help. She didn't have anyone else to take these books into the library yet and she was already struggling.

"Yo." A young man with a shaved head and stern eyes gazed upon the young lady in front of him. Hands in his pockets. "You're the girl from the church posters, right? Mind if we have a talk? It's important."
Unprompted Asks || Always Accepting!
Asa stopped in her tracks and glanced over her shoulder at the other. He looked about her age, maybe a little older. At first, she didn't know how to react, she hated how the Chainsaw Man Church had painted her as the poster woman of the group. They had plastered her image all over the city and boasted about how she was the best Devil Hunter they had, which only brought unwarranted attention to her of course.
But a part of her kinda liked the attention.
"Y-yeah... I guess," she replied, turning to face him fully. "What's up?"

@umbrellabancho said: "Yo, Momo's man. Long time to see." The man raised his hand, greeting the other, eyes half-closed. "Do you have a minute?"
"M-Man?!" There's a level of flustered red that rises to his cheeks he can hardly explain but his nervous habits and fidgeting of glasses does so for him as he attempts to suddenly find a valid reason for their relationship outside of what Zuma might have implied. "Miss Ayase and I are just friends and nothing more!" It does a number to his heart he isn't ready to question, simply preserving the feeling as he attempts to swallow the nervous jitters and focus on the second part of his question. "What is it that you needed?"

@umbrellabancho sent : ❛ yo, momo! ❜ a tall young man with a stern gaze approached the girl, hands in his pockets. ❝ been a while. ❞
𝗙𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗘𝗥𝗦 𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗚𝗥𝗜𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗗 𝗢𝗡 𝗔 𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗬 𝗢𝗩𝗔𝗟, thumbs pressing on buttons, the click of them being the only sound she's focused on as her lovely little digital pet gets spoiled. having no fun is such a bummer, a huuuuge one, one that can't be fixed for another few paychecks. what else is there to do besides latch onto a silly toy, a throwback to the sandbox days. it's not much, but hey, beggars can't be choosers, right?
sure, she's got some dingy building to explore, but doesn't keep the slog of a day threatening to weigh her down, shoulders already sinking, by the time she hears a familiar voice, one that gets those very shoulders perked up, the shine creeping back into umber hues, and a smile that spills out before she can do anything about it-- recognition hits before she even sees him. and once she does, she knows the day's saved, 𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘴𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘰𝘳'𝘴 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦!
❝ zuuuu-ma! ❞ tone's bright, a greeting that rings out with warmth saved for a chosen few, the ones who’ve gone through thick and thin, and come out of it no matter the odds, scars and all, ❝ a while's like totes an understatement, more like 𝐟𝐨𝐫-𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐫! ❞ and her game's all but forgotten, tucked back into the pocket of her oversized jacket, hand slightly hidden by baggy sleeves. the autumn chill's starting to hit, the wind fanning out her tresses as she skips over to him, chin tilting up as she settles right in front of him, gaze steady,
❝ y'ready to head in? the hag says this place is a liiiittle dicey, but we've got it, don'tcha think? ❞

“If you say it’s like that, I’ll believe you.”
NICE THINGS TO SAY. » still accepting!
"Yeah, uh... I don't know if it's an autistic thing, but if more than one person is talking at the same time, I literally cannot concentrate on what's being said, let alone keep track of the conversation," Vivian sheepishly admits. Truth be told, she has no idea how knowledgeable Unji was of mental disabilities, but rather than let him believe she had hearing problems or was deaf, she figures she should clarify she has autism, meaning while she hears just fine, registering actual words was difficult.
"Like, whenever I'm watching anime, I at least have subtitles to reference and can pause the video to read everything that's being said at my own leisure; however, that is not something I conveniently have available in real life... so I had to lead you to this alleyway where it's quiet and I can finally hear my own thoughts," Vivian then tries to reason, hoping somehow, he'll understand. "After all, since we live in a society, it's not as though I can simply yell at the people around us and tell them to shut up, right? Anyways, um... what were you trying to tell me earlier?"

"So... you're like a sorcerer cop or somethin', right?"
she was loitering around the area while waiting for tafuku to grab some limited edition sweet that he'd been raving about. she lets out a sigh since she's already eaten, but sometimes she hates how some leads were dead ends. nothing more than the structure of their current nation, ruins of a japan free from a war. hiyuki knows there are those who seek to snatch away at the ideas of sweet peace. she raises a brow as someone guy in piercings approaches her. he reeks of deliquent, but who would be so bold to approach someone like her?
❛ what's it to ya? are you looking for trouble? ❜ she inquired since she could use something less lukewarm. there wasn't much that didn't rile her up, but she doubts this is his aim. ❛ who're you anyways ?❜

"...Cool Katana, is it real?"
chihiro directs his attention to the young man beside him staring intensely at his sword. his deadpanned face masks the curiosity that briefly bubbles up inside of him at the question. “do you see people carry fake katana's around a lot?” it's as real as anything else, with it being the last remaining piece of his father he carries around with him.
but he nods. of course it's real; it and the blood its stained and tainted with despite it's pristine cleaning.

"I-I'm sorry? I'm afraid I didn't exactly catch that," Vivian proceeds to tilt her head upon not quite managing to make out the words he whispered underneath his breath. Had Unji insulted her or something? Honestly enough, she had no way of actually knowing, but before she could question him further, he soon pointed out they were in gang territory, causing her eyes to outright widen as she cradles her Ita bag, which displayed merchandise for Niles or Zero from Fire Emblem Fates, more tightly against her chest.
"'Yodocho'?!" Vivian finds herself incredulously parroting, yet upon not wanting to be left behind, she'll quickly hasten after Unji's heels. "Holy... w-welp, on the bright side, I guess I at least don't have to take the train; plus, none of those punks prowling about could possibly hold a candle to how tough I am!" she then adds. Of course, she was truly a weakling and didn't have any muscles that would scare off any potential attackers let alone hold her own in a fight, but regardless, she didn't know how to get back to Suzuki Hotel by herself; therefore, she'll continue trailing behind him like a lost puppy.
Still, given all the racket the local delinquents were making around them, Vivian couldn't help letting her gaze eventually wander... only to end up wincing. God, talk about barbaric. Why the hell were they possibly attacking trash cans, she wonders? Truth be told, it didn't make any sense to her; in fact, Vivian feels like vending machines would give them more bang for their buck. Either way, it doesn't take long for her eyes to absentmindedly shift forward again the moment she was glared at... not because she was scared, per say, but because she had this haunting suspicion her precious pins, key chains, and acrylic standees were suddenly at risk of being bashed by those bats they wielded.
"R-Right! Now probably isn't the best time to take in the scenery, huh?" came her sheepish concession. Sure enough, Vivian then picks up the pace until she was walking directly beside him, for when it came down to it, she would go absolutely apeshit if those punks happened to ruin her bag or her merchandise due to her simply looking at them. "Say, um... did you happen to grow up in this neighbourhood, Zuzu?" Vivian finally goes on to question once a few minutes had passed. ...After all, Unji certainly seemed to know his way around Yodocho far better than the average Japanese citizen.
"Sometimes I wonder how are you even alive." The young man whispered to himself as he furrowed his brow at the girl's claim that she had no idea where is this place. He's aware that Vivian could be a bit of an airhead, but this part of town is really damn shady, guess he has to keep looking over her for the time she's spending in Japan.
"We're on Yodocho, part of Takamori's gang territory." He signals with his head for Vivian to follow him, the sooner they leave this street the better. "Watch yourself, okay? Ain't exactly a friendly bunch here."
As he said that, one could hear some delinquents bashing trash cans with baseball bats near them. But Zuma ignores it as he sticks close to the girl. "Suzuki's Hotel is about a 30 minute walk, shouldn't be a problem."
As he said that, the young man notices glares aimed at both him and the girl, which he responds by a glare back, and hurrying his pacing. "Don't stare at 'em, keep looking forward."

The hint of disgust crossed her features as he mentioned his friends were planning on confessing their love to her. The thought of being the object of someone's affection never made her very comfortable. She could never understand why some of the girls her age were so obsessed with having a boyfriend or dating in general. But then again, Yoru was set on having Denji Hayakawa fall in love with Asa. And it wasn't like she didn't like him...
"Yeah... I... Guess you're right," she replied, avoiding eye contact with him. "I suppose I could ask your friends to leave."
Yoru hummed softly in Asa's ear. Perhaps, if these boys are strong, we could use them to our advantage.
Asa ignored her, finally looking Unji in the eye. "And you're not wrong... There is something fishy going on. I'm... I'm trying to look into it myself."
"You have more influence on them than you think." The young man rubbed the back of his head and let out a sigh, Unji thought he could omit this part of the context, as he didn't want to make his boys seem like a bunch of fools. But it seems there wasn't much of a choice. "My guys, they've joined the church because of you."
"Something about professing their love for you once they're a high-enough rank. So... as ya can probably tell, they're way over their heads."
Unji looks around, his eyes much sharper. Unji was a fan of Chainsaw Man, he always thought the guy was a badass. But worship? For someone known to tear other's apart? That's bound to end in trouble.
"I'll be straight with you, I don't like the Church, it has a creepy cult vibe, and it feels some shit is going to go down sooner rather than later. So I'd rather have my boys away from whatever happens."
"You can tell it too, don't you? Something's off about this church thing."

The flustered habit disappeared without a trace when his hyperfixation was brought to light through Momo's praise, no less. Taking that fact in stride alone was enough to boost his ego, but offers no comment to elude any further misunderstandings regarding their relationship. Instead, his excitement is reserved for the original question and the volume at which he speaks reflects it. "Hah! So you're looking to hear about the most fascinating history on earth! You're a believer in the occult, Zuma?!" Color him surprised! Sure, he's aware that Zuma's circumstances may have made that fact obvious but usually people didn't bother to ask him about the details unless they were relevant to their situation.
"Where do I even begin?! There's plenty of ground to cover!" There really was. There were more cryptids in the world than he had time to dedicate to them. Not to mention what extraterrestrial life existed beyond their humble earth. Perhaps if they were unique in their experiences he'd find this just as difficult to sell as he had in the past, but his usual apprehension fades the more he relaxes under the idea that they are one in the same. "Bigfoot is a hot topic in the west! He's usually spotted on American or Canadian soil and has been around since the sixteenth century! There have been numerous reported sightings, video, and pictures that suggest Bigfoot is either capable of living several human generations long or that there are a plethora of Bigfoots that have bred as a united species! That would explain why we've seen so many over centuries! Bigfoot's been sighted in numerous areas throughout the west varying in different states and provinces!" He prattles and prattles with no remorse, eager to release his years worth of knowledge on to any curious soul. Awesome? It's the first time someone other than Momo's shown any interest in this with him, he isn't quite used to anyone else complimenting something he was interested in.
Okarun pauses as he gears up to continue with his information dump, trying to reel himself in enough to recall the details of how to elaborate on that question. He justifies the answer by convincing himself the truth was warranted, given all that they've been through. "Yes, actually his origins are still a little shaky to me since it was miss Ayase who discovered him but he's been relatively neutral as of late, so we haven't had a reason to act hostile towards him. He's part of a race known as the Serpoians—Serpo for short. They're an entirely male species that relied on cloning to reproduce until recently. After coming to earth they've set their sights on abducting humans to steal their junk." He nearly shudders at the thought after having spent so long fighting to get everything back for himself. "Miss Ayase calls him 'Rokuro', if I remember correctly." There's been little reason for Okarun to react, but despite knowing Rokuro was technically peaceful, it was difficult for him not to be surprised by an alien.
Unji paid no mind for the other's fidgetiness, he was more than aware that, behind that meek surface, hides a pretty damn cool badass.
But he had to admit, his surprise was unexpected. It felt pretty obvious that Momo and Ken had a romantic vibe going on. Unji is no love guru, but even someone as dense as him were able to tell how obvious it was, maybe they were still working things out.
Regardless, this was none of the ex-delinquent's business. So he decided to focus on why he went there in the first place.
"Momo told me you're like, an occult genius. Like you know all about UFOs, Bigfoot and stuff-"
"That shit's wicked awesome, mind teachin' me about it?" Not only was Unji interested in this weird occult thing, there was also a practical reason for his request. While Unji is somewhat aware of yokais and cursed weapons, he didn't know much about the other side of the occult aside from basic conspiracy theories. "That dude with a big creepy head who keeps talkin' about part-time jobs, he's an alien, right?"

"depends on how well you can adapt to fighting something you know nothing about." her response might come off as cruel but she wasn't about to let people get hurt because they felt like they had to be a hero. it was a sure-fire way for someone to get injured or worse.
"just watch your back. i don't even know what this guy is capable of yet but he could literally try anything."
The young man rubbed the back of his head and sighed, he wished to object, but it was obvious that this lady wasn't the type to back down
"Fine, but at least let me help you out. I don't know much 'bout dark energy stuff, but I do have ways to help out. I certainly can do some damage."
Zuma cracked his knuckles as he kept walking alongside the young woman next to him. He might not have full control of Umbrella Boy yet, but he has it enough to a single battle.
