From 8 AM to 17 PM
Hello! At first, thank you for visiting my page. Actually, this is my third page after having two, or maybe three blog pages that I never really care, or we could say I never write a single post on those account.
For my first official post in this page, I going to tell you my short escape in Bali Island. As I'm in the midst of being a volunteer in Denpasar, I used the free time to explore more of my hometown.
The journey started from 8 AM. I went together with my friend named Karina, together with her older brother and younger brother, and my other friend named Nadia from the city using my car. Along the way, we used the time talking about a lot of things, well of course you don't have to know about the detail hehehe.
After a long ride, we arrived on the first place at half past nine. The first location of this trip is Desa Adat Panglipuran. This village is like the representative of how Balinese village looks like. To enjoy the view of this village, you need to pay IDR 15 (Rp15.000,00) per person and addition of IDR 5 to park your car. If you use motorcycle or public transportation, the price are lower than that.
Besides seeing the design of Balinese architecture of the houses, you could taste the food and the drink from the village. The famous one is Klepon Ketela Ungu, is a snack from purple sweet potato with Java sugar inside of it. Another is Loloh Cemcem. I don't know the ingredients, but I know the drink because every time my mom go home, she always buy it. So actually you can buy the drink even in the city nowadays.
To reach the place from the city, you could drive through By Pass Profesor Ida Bagus Mantra, which the way you could see on this link. After spent like forty-five minutes, we went to another places.
Another thirty minutes, we arrived on the second place. It is Gunung Kawi Temple. It is a sacred temple in a village named Tampaksiring. Usually, people called the place as Gunung Kawi Tampaksiring. The kings of Bali from many eras, which is from King Udayana family, are being cremated here. Unfortunately, because this place is sacred and I was having my period, so sadly I can't go inside. But don't worry, I got some pictures from my friend Karina's older brother and younger brother. To enter the place, you need to pay for IDR 15 per person and IDR 5 to park you car. To reach the place, you could click this link.
*Since I dont know the Instagram username of her older brother,
you could just check out her Instagram on @masihkecil.
Then we went to the third place called Tampaksiring Journey. The place isn't to far from Gunung Kawi Tampaksiring, it takes only ten minutes to go there using car. This place is full of bamboo architecture. To visit the place, you need to pay for IDR 10 per person, and it is included with a glass of fresh juice. Isn't it good to refresh your day? To go to the place, you could check this link.
After that, we drove to Ubud. Then, we went to fourth place called Tegallalang Rice Field. This rice field is really famous in Bali. But I was really sad because when we arrived there, we couldn't see the greenish of rice field because the farmer just finished cropped the plant. But yeah, you could see the picture below. To go there, you could see this link.
At two o'clock on the afternoon, we went to the fifth place. It is called Campuhan Ridge Walk. It is a famous hill in Ubud, usually used as jogging track for the local and foreigner who stay in Ubud. After parking the car, we walk like ten minutes until we arrived at hill full of green grass. Besides running, you could spent your time going up the hill that full with the grass. For the five of us, we could get the best angle from here. To reach the place, you need to park your vehicle somewhere and take a walk to the hill, which you could see in this link.
After the long journey, we chose to eat in a small Italian Resturant named Umah Pizza. The price is not so expensive, and you could get variants of food from pizzas to spaghettis. The pizza in small size is only about IDR 25, and we could share it with six people. Sorry to say but I dont take a picture there, so you could check it on Instagram, search with hashtag #umahpizza. To go there, please click this link.
So that's the story of my short escape. I hope I could somewhere else in Bali before I need to go back to Surabaya. Well, I'm a Balinese, but I live in Surabaya, a big city in Java Island after Jakarta. And well, I need to say my sorry to all of you if you find some grammatical error since English is not my first language. Thank you.
See you on my next post!
