His bedroom door opens softly. Jarvis with his breakfast.

Tony lets the tablet fall against his face with a light thud and groans. He'd hoped he'd have solved this by now.

"I've heard setting it aside and going for a walk helps," comes the familiar but unexpected voice of someone decidedly NOT Jarvis.

Tony quickly removes the tablet from his face, throwing it aside as he whips around to stare at his surprise visitor.

Standing in his chamber door was Steve Rogers, holding a tray of breakfast foods.

"When have you ever walked away from a problem, My Captain?" Tony says, "Besides, I don't think walking is going to fix rocket science."

Rogers shrugs and sets the breakfast tray down on Tony's lap.

"Not that I'm opposed, but why are you bringing me my breakfast, Darling? And what, pray tell, have you done with my poor Mr Jarvis?"

"Thought Jarvis could use a break to spend with his pals." Rogers says as he sets up the tray with careful movements, "Go on that day trip he'd been talking about."

"Sure," Tony says. Trying to remember Jarvis mentioning it but getting nothing... "Uh, thanks."

Rogers gives him a curt nod, the corners of his lips twitching up slightly. Then he leaves.

Tony's beginning to wonder if he'll ever understand that man. He picks up his tablet and sets it on the nightstand.

Grabbing his cutlery, Tony notices a small page hidden tucked underneath the napkin.

With a gentle touch, Tony picks it up. His eyes widen and his breath catches in his throat.

On the page is a beautiful drawing. A cartoon Iron Man soars through the clouds. Looking strong and proud. The sun shone off his armor heroically.

A small handwritten note underneath reads: "You're my favorite thing this century."

Headcanon

Ults (or 616 tho this was drawn w ults tony in mind) loses his voice on a mission. The motel that he and Steve end up crashing at with their trashed gear in the middle of nowhere is very tech-less much to Tony’s ire. The shower looks good though. Until it’s so old-fashioned that Tony can’t figure out how to adjust the temperature and ends up scalding himself. He’d been flirting with Steve through the fogged up glass before to make up for being voiceless but now it’s turned a bit more urgent, if Steve can get the memo that Tony isn’t flirting anymore before Tony ends up too irritable/scalded/embarrassed (but he thinks he can pass that off as being angry and burnt)

Hahaha deffo some place far too fancy for Steve’s liking. The kind of place where there’s four different forks on the table and a live band playing the music as opposed to some background jazz coming out of a speaker. Steve is arsey about it (obviously) and just says he wants a burger or something- which is fine, Tony know the chef, he just sneaks around the back and asks a favour.
