Mahalo to everyone who helped to make this trip to Kona possible. I would still like to share the race experience, but I have wanted to take the time to truly live in the moment and appreciate the opportunity to be here in the fullest. I couldn’t have done it without the help of my family and friends. Yesterday we went for a great little hike to loosen the legs and today is my last day till heading back to Canada! What a weekend! Getting to race alongside some great people in a amazing place like Kona has been a unreal experience. This weekends Ultraman World Championships had challenging conditions- on a course the circumnavigated the entire island of Kona. I had to dig deep, trust my training and rely on my crew- but in the end could not be more happy to Win the World Championship title! Finished up with Day #2 at the Ultraman World Championships her in Kona! What a day! At the 90km mark everyone was spread apart with different strategies being used- yet things came together by 275km. I was happy with the way it played out, but it became obvious that we all wanted to save some gas in the tank for the big run day tomorrow. Currently holding the lead - but the true game starts in the morning! Special thanks to my crew again today. They were flawless in getting me the right gear, getting me to laugh, and getting my butt up that big windy hill! Day 1 at the @umwchawaii race and things have started off in the right direction! My crew of Devon, Brad and Dave kept me going the right direction, feed, watered, and recovered. The swim for all athletes took longer than anticipated with some strong currents, but everyone made it out safely! Thanks to all volunteers and staff that make this event happen!
