I bet after Mike dies Trevor goes on a few extremely ill advised, more hardcore than usual, totally-not-suicidal-ideation drug binges because he keeps trying to slip back into the emotional state he was in after Ludendorff, when he thought Michael was dead the first time, but the reduced external pressure and increased proximity to the killing itself makes it so he can’t just think that way again without feeling like a fraud/pussy, and I bet after Trevor dies Mike ends up in some emotional spirals because whenever he starts to feel guilty for more than a minute his first impulse on how to deal with it is to go find Trevor to fight with/complain to him and he keeps having to suffer through that little oh moment whenever the urge arises and it makes him feel ten times worse. Every time.

I'm going to say Clark Kent -- I think Tyler Hoechlin was actually very well-cast in the role, and Clark is kind of inherently likable.

Honestly slots 3-5 are pretty interchangeable and could even be potentially swapped out for a couple other characters, but today I'm going to go with James Olsen for #3. He has a quiet, thoughtful steadiness to him that I find appealing, but crucially he can also be bitchy when called for (and sometimes when not, which is also okay; flaws make characters better).

Red Daughter can take the #4 slot -- I think she's a really interesting glimpse at an alternate Kara, and it's a damn shame the show immediately forgot about her after she died.

And Nia Nal rounds out the list at #5. I wish they gave her more to do than "annual episode about transphobia," but Nicole Maines still imbues her with a lot of fun and heart, and she gets enough moments of snark and anger that she doesn't feel totally sanitized for the audience (the way Kelly unfortunately does to me a lot of the time, despite Azie Tesfai's best efforts).

reading springfest now after everything in nagazora is making me crave more fu hua and mei interactions. i feel like thus far in my go through, i've never actually seen them interact, but it's kinda fun that the person who made the recommended reading order put springfest after nagazora (though of course this is probably in preparation for whatevers going on with senti/fu hua rn in ch 19)

but the way that the empyrea isolates herself so she doesn't have any attachment to those who she will outlive and how she winds up becoming lonely as a result threw me back to mei isolating herself in world serpent so that she can protect kiana and just... idk..... i think the two talk about that isolation would be interesting

also. i love fu hua. she's still at the top of my list for best character so i'm just a happy little guy getting more fu hua content now in the story :> yippee fu hua
