TL Notes:

ひとおもいに gives off this feeling you’re just going to do something, or you’re going to do it resolutely. It can also be used in the context of mercy-killing people and putting them out of their misery. With my TL, I wanted to give off the feeling he’s pretty much going to kill whoever he’s talking to and call it a day. As a side note, depending on the context, he could also be talking about other people, like "shall I crush them".

I had to translate this in a roundabout way for the sake of sentence flow. I simplified 大胆な行動 by TLing it as “he’s daring” instead of sticking to something like “he acts in a bold/daring manner” for the sake of flow. 隙がない literally means that there’s no gap, but truly when talking about a person it means that their guard is always up. I translated it as “you can’t catch him off guard” to avoid making the translation sound too stale and repetitive with those “he is he is he is” and whatnot.

Update on the Ride Kamens panel at AnimeJapan 2024:

After the the discussion between the VAs for the 5 factions's leaders, they showed off a trailer for the Villain organization (Chaosism)'s generals/executives (the "ulseven"), including their human forms & silhouettes of their transformed forms.

Then they showed off the game's "opening movie", which included full-animated snippets from the riders' Henshin sequences (hopefully the full versions are in the game).

why are the ulseven fire emblem characters...

If genshin or hsr verse, the Ulseven woudl still be a villain group but not one with prominence outside of their own planet. But with serious fire power that rivals that of other groups, but all their bad stuff is local and more controlled, but no one notices it? Mightus woudl like Itto if only to fight against. perhaps he dreams of fighting Raiden Shogun if for a moment.

Super robot butler Leon is the best thing I've ever seen all week thank you for this omg 🤣 whatever he wants to do, whatever he becomes, I support him, he deserves everything 🙏💖

I also miss the variety of monsters but at least we got some cool ulseven monster designs (the official Twitter posted them recently so I guess they're not spoilers anymore? Lol) my favourite are libal and toruth!

Also I completely agree with you I love the stories too much! But I'm not used to this much lore (14 chapters!) being released all at once, followed by one event per week? I play other gachas and I'm used to around 2 events per month, RK feels a bit fast paced to me 😅 I also got sidetracked by other things (ooh there's a 2* card of another fav character I must grind to get it!!)

Also this is more my own personal problem, but when I started a gacha game, as an f2p I feel compelled to collect the gems/currency as much as possible because what if they released my fav next (doing this by running explorations and rasing card levels...) So progressing in main chapter has been slow 😅

I know we're not the only people with this problem (unable to catch up) because apparently in the latest dev letter they will extend the event period to 10 days now, so it's clear other players were complaining, and I'm glad they're listening. I think the devs are still trying to gain their footing in running this game, here's hoping it'll only get better from now on 🙏

YES I feel a lot better knowing other people are in the same boat as me! :') as someone who only plays games very casually, the events are fun (and have been a good excuse to get those support stories on characters I was kinda ignoring) but SO distracting -- and they have a connected overarching narrative of their own (make sure you read them in order when you get to them!) so I don't want to skip any. which I guess is to say that my problem is that I'm enjoying the writing too much! how dare they.

overall it definitely has that Kamen Rider tone and feeling I was hoping for and I am VERY pleased with it! I do kinda miss the kitbashy monsters, though otherwise it's basically just Rider But With More Random Scenes of Characters Being Ridiculous At Each Other and that is exactly what I was after. (also exquisite taste, Mad Guys are best guys 🤝)

and as long as I still haven't gotten to episode 13 and can therefore continue to be hilariously naive, let me just say that I know what I'm dreaming of for Leon. he deserves it.

...although I do think it would be VERY funny if they made that whole big "WE WILL BE UPDATING LEON'S SPRITES TO REFLECT STORY CHANGES!!!!" announcement and then it turns out that they just like. hue-shifted his eye color slightly to the right or something. it's not even a big story beat, Leon just decided to try out some color contacts, maybe comb his hair back a little, and we don't have the heart to tell him to stop. :(

TL Notes:

箱庭 is a miniature garden, but can also refer to a sandbox. I’m interpreting this line as ??? talking about Nijigao City being a test ground of sorts, so “sandbox” felt more appropriate. The context is also unclear, so they could very well be talking about the Riders (hence why I used “they” in this TL) or just everyone in general, so it would be more of a “we”.

衰退 is “decline” or “decay”, but “ruin” sounded better considering the structure I used. I also went for “will only know” to TL あるのみ (”there’s only”) for the sake of sentence flow.

TL Notes:

This is more of a general note, but in general I preferred to TL カオスの意思 as “Chaos” instead of “Chaos’ will” or “the will of Chaos” because his belief almost sounds religious in nature, as if you could just substitute “Chaos” with “God” instead. So, I suppose I sort of humanized the concept of Chaos here with my TL. I also didn’t contract anything to try and give off the same kind of slow feeling his voice lines have.

The passive is used in the OG line, and it’s more literally along the lines of “everything is led by the will of Chaos” but I opted for a wording that would have a better flow overall.

TL Notes:

慇懃無礼 is an expression that means that someone looks down on others despite being polite on the surface. Considering what’s mentioned later in this line, I thought translating it like “overtly polite yet covertly arrogant” was appropriate. I also decided to TL 敬語 as “courteous language” because I didn’t feel like dropping a ‘keigo’ unprompted in there, and added “the other generals” for clarification, assuming those are the other Ulseven members we’re talking about.

Mightus being the least interested general in their plans he just wants to find strong people and fight. But alas being a working adult and a general means a lot of distractions. sure he is the muscle of Ulseven but that doesn't mean he's stupid. he's described as quick witted and someone who's always aware and never someone who will be surprise.
