uh oh i’m thinking abt Uli again

this little goaty idiot who is so desperate for attention, for someone to look at him for once in his life, who got sucked into a cult because it was the only thing that gave him solace in a world where nobody wanted to look at him or love him or give him the time of day, and who keeps forgetting his own con because he is enamoured with Puss, with Dulcinea. they treat him kindly and he knows they mean it because they don’t know him at first, they don’t know that he’s working to bring down San Lorenzo (and the world), and it softens him in a way that he doesn’t understand bc he is blinded by the cult to which he has sworn his life. there are moments where he surfaces, moments where he calls Puss handsome under his breath that aren’t a part of his plan because he takes it back as soon as Puss calls him on it, moments where he isn’t Uli-servant-of-the-Bloodwolf, moments where he’s just Uli, all leading up to the culmination of his penance, his sacrifice, where he finally opens his eyes and realises that while the Bloodwolf never actually cared for him, Dulcinea did. Dulcinea does. and that’s enough to change him for the better. for good.
