Happy Art Monday! 🎨✨
Remember when I mentioned having pictures of Aya Ueto on my phone last month?
Well, here's the drawing I mentioned: "Moonlit Rōnin" 🌙🌸🗡️
It's my character from our occasional "Girls Only" D&D game. Meet my second Erel'Vrae, the Drow Samurai (a Fighter Archetype unlocked at level 3). We play with D&D 5e rules in a homebrew world.
In this universe, Drow society mirrors Japanese feudal culture. The idea sparked when I chose the Samurai class. The DM loved the concept and aligned Drow culture accordingly.
Why a Samurai? Simply for the novelty. I've played various classes—rangers, divine paladins, druids, even a mage gun—but never touched the fighter class. The finesse of a dexterous fighter intrigued me, plus the rich imagery and culture behind the samurai.
Unlike my other Erel'Vrae, this one doesn't have a tragic backstory. She hailed from a loving family and excelled in the fighting academy. When her training was finally done, she sought a Lady to serve but, unfortunately, found none deemed worthy, prompting her to explore the surface world in search of a fitting Daimyo. Along her travels, she vowed to protect a young bard until finding the right match for her talent.
Proud and principled, she defends her people and profession fiercely. Yet, she restrains herself if her opponent proves overpowering.
Traveling as a group, they pass as entertainers—Erel'Vrae's protege plays music while others dance, fight for coin, or perform acrobatics. The group's name, "Métal Brûlant," originates from the D&D spell "Heat Metal," suggesting "Burning Metal."
Her attire mirrors her academy days. Spider Lilies on her Aïkidogi and katana hilt's Kamon (family's crest) pay homage to Lolth, the Spider Queen, whom her family reveres. The Baldur's Gate 3-inspired hairstyle suits her, and her tattoo, albeit intricate, accentuates her allure, especially with white ink on dark skin.
The signature 月冠, read Gekkan, means Moon crown, which is the closest to Isilrina that I could get with only kanji.
Stay tuned for more of her adventures—I'll likely illustrate her future exploits. 🌟🖌️
Until next week! 🌸✨

Lily of the Valley Last year, I saw these flowers in real life for the first time. They are truly beautiful. I really like their shape. Have you ever seen a lily of the valley?

From the age of 6 I had a mania for drawing the shapes of things. When I was 50 I had published a universe of designs. But all I have done before the the age of 70 is not worth bothering with. At 75 I'll have learned something of the pattern of nature, of animals, of plants, of trees, birds, fish and insects. When I am 80 you will see real progress. At 90 I shall have cut my way deeply into the mystery of life itself. At 100, I shall be a marvelous artist. At 110, everything I create; a dot, a line, will jump to life as never before. To all of you who are going to live as long as I do, I promise to keep my word. I am writing this in my old age. I used to call myself Hokusai, but today I sign my self 'The Old Man Mad About Drawing.
Katsushika Hokusai (c. 1760-1849), the renowned Japanese woodblock printmaker and printer from the famous period of ukiyo-e.

Very very excited that I can finally share the pieces I did for the @turtlestogetherzine !!!! Here’s the page that I did!
I love the 90s films so much, so I went for a piece inspired by the 3rd one!
Absolutely honored to be included in this project, and y’all were one of the best, kindest groups I have ever worked with. Much love 💖

Another character concept for my world building. This time is a Demigod. This concept was in the works for far too long and I finished it! Finally! They are also known as The Herald of Seasons. The three elemental gems can summon three different instruments for the herald to use. (Yes, behold, a bard)
