Keir Starmer has released an op-ed today for the Telegraph in which, in half a line he praises Margaret Thatcher (he also praises Blair and Attlee in the same paragraph) for changing the paradigm in which the UK operated.
Obviously, some have been up in arms about this ‘betrayal of the left’. But as they say the same every time Starmer so much as sneezes, their indignation has long since been drowned out by our indifference.
Twitter (No I don’t call it X and neither does anyone else) might be a bit skittish about it but most people who read the piece will see exactly what is happening here.
Essentially, to win elections - now bear with me here - you have to get more people to vote for you than for the other lot.
Sometimes that means fishing in the other guy’s pool. A Tory to Labour switcher counts double basically as it reduces their tally while increasing yours. It’s why well-meaning attempts to win over thrid party voters are usually naive in political strategy terms (With the exception of Scotland and Wales).
The front page of the Telegraph is a great way to find those voters. If you read the article, it sets out a narrative of Tory failures that is as deep as it is comprehensive. It could easily win over some wavering traditional Tories who are long past fed up. It could convince a few more to stay at home and sit on their hands safe in the knowledge that Starmer doesn’t scare them.
But to get that onto the front page? That’s where the Thatcher praise comes in. Starmer’s team will have known that in order to lift this from the swirl of political pieces it is not enough simply to write for the Telegraph, they had to put something eye-catching in there that would get people talking. And would give certain readers permission to be open to Starmer’s argument.
That it would also piss off the left might be seen as a bonus by some in Starmer’s team. That’s a shame I think as - frankly - they need to move on from that phase of Starmer’s three-point plan. But I am never going to win that battle sadly. Every LOTO ever will act factionally and interfere where they shouldn’t. That Starmer’s lot are more successful at it than most does not mean that others didn’t try.
So on those grounds, I have no real problem with Stamer invoking Thatcher.
Nor do I have a problem with him saying that he would like to make changes to the country that are on the scale of those that Thatcher made. We need wholesale change - not least to make up for the changes that she wrought and the long-term damage that still echoes today in our lack of housing - particularly social housing; in our filthy rivers and beaches which can be taken back in a straight line to privatisation of water; and in the austerity brought in by her acolytes as a response to an overmighty city that was started with her ‘big bang’ reforms.
Where I think Starmer has a problem is that this is not an article about having a vision as big as Thatcher’s on economic remodelling or Attlee’s on building the welfare state. In fact, the rest of the article is all about Tory failure and Labour Party reinvention. There is not nearly enough forward vision to claim to be a new Thatcher-level figure.
A while back I wrote the generous and ungenerous cases for Starmer’s approach. This is an extract from the generous part. You will see that I too invoke both Thatcher and Attlee:
I return to this because I think in that piece I did make quite a good fist of setting out how Starmer can be a reforming Prime Minister in a time where high spending won’t be possible. But, here’s the thing. I’m a blogger. I am just an observer of politics. I don’t work for Starmer’s office. So why am I better linking that sense of being as reforming as Attlee or Thatcher to a sense of the future a Labour government could potentially offer than they are?
Sure, maybe I do have the shackles off. I don’t have to get anything past Pat McFadden. But nothing I wrote in that piece was about increasing spending. Instead, it’s about changing the machinery of Britain that we know to be broken.
At the start of the year, I offered Labour a simple slogan I still think they should take up as we go into a General Election year: Let’s Fix Britain. They don’t have to use that particular phrase (although my consultancy rates are VERY REASONABLE and I will explain to them exactly why they should) but they do need to give a sense of that renewal. That means not just talking about how bad the Tories have been or how much they have changed Labour but what the country will look like after five years under Starmer.
Why? Labour will almost certainly win the next election. But honestly, they don’t want to win by default. They need to make and keep promises that really will change this country. We need it.
If they don’t - the scariest thing of all is not that Starmer is invoking Thatcher - it’s that there isn’t a positive reason to vote Labour beyond “Not the Tories”. However mad the Tories are now, when they get their act together, Labour must have something to say for themselves.

Eddie and Lina
So, this is about my Great Uncle and Aunt, in America, 2810, 36th street Astoria, New York. My great Uncle, was my grandmother's brother. I'm not sure whether he was half-brother or brother, and he went to New York. I don’t know why he went to New York, make his fortune, I suppose. But he didn't do that. He ended up being ripped off. He jumped ship, that's right, he must been in a navy, so he jumped ship, and he was hiding out with other, so he must’ve jumped ship in America, and he was hiding out with other Maltese. There was a Maltese enclave in Astoria, I found out and he jumped ship and he was living with them and they were ripping him off wholesale, apparently.
Not quite sure how he got together with Aunt Lina, but he was an office cleaner or a window cleaner, one of the other.
My aunt had adopted a boy called Howard. Apparently, when he grew up, he joined the Army and when he came back from his tours of duty, he didn’t want to know Eddie or Lina is video Lina and never heard of him again. We never know him anyway; I think we got a photo in somewhere.
Somewhere along the line, and I don’t know how they managed this on that kind of money; because he can't have been on great money doing window cleaning, but they had a summer place which a lot of New Yorkers did. In the summer, they leave a city and go out to Staten Island and so they had this place I could remember it well in Staten Island. They owned other parts of Staten Island and they must’ve bought it up really cheap at some stage, and other people had places on there and they used to collect rent off of that.
Eddie enjoyed fishing and there were many photos of him and his pals in a small boat out on the water. He gave me a split cane boat rod and reel, although ownership is questioned. Both stayed in M&Ds bedroom collecting dust for decades. Much later, I took it to work where a guy restored the reel. Dad asked for it back and promptly gave it away. Why do that?
Eddie and Lina came to the UK early to mid-60’s with Nancy. I remember dad renting a Ford Zephyr 6 to go get them from the airport which I can’t see was much bigger than the Morris Oxford he then owned but we learned long ago that logic evaded him.
When we went over, in 1968, just after my grandad died, dad wasn't supposed to come with us and they were supposed to look after each other or something. I can't remember exactly what it was. So, in the end he decided to come with us, we went over and stayed at 2810, 36th street for a week, and 2 weeks out of the city in Staten Island. Interestingly, we were in NYC early June 1968 as Bobby Kennedy was laying in state in St. Patricks Cathedral 6-8 June 1968. [PT]
Anyway, coming into JFK but we didn’t really do much in the city. We hung around the apartment in Astoria a lot, we didn’t seem to go anywhere. However, we did go for one evening to my aunts’ Irish friends, the Collins. I can remember them asking if I wanted a drink and I said yes and that was an end to it. I waited for them to get me something and they expected me to do self-service.
They also had a color TV and I remember watching Tarzan [the Ron Ely version] and the color was so bad that Tarzan was running in B&W and behind him running was the color, never actually catching up.
We went into the city for at least a day because we have photos of the UN building, we went up the Empire State building and we visited the big stores. I can remember being in a café or diner when a cop walked in and sat close by. I was transfixed with the gun on his hip. We also went to Radio City Music Hall and watched the Odd Couple with Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau which was brand new at that time. There were dancing girls akin to the UK TV show, Sunday Night at the London Palladium. I remember my aunt having a fit as there were a bunch of nuns in the audience. Different times
I do remember buying Captain Action previously in New York City from either JCPenney or one of the other big boys. You know, Macy's somewhere like that. I’ve still got him. Because I was already a fan of the DC comics and Batman and Superman. It was in these comics that I discovered Captain Action as he was advertised in there, that's what I wanted. You couldn’t buy him in England. So I bought him and a Superman costume because he was being able to change between superman, Batman Green Hornet Spider-Man. God knows how it worked with copyright for all the different companies involved.
I remember the rubber band inside that held him together, pinged off so dad had to mend that. It was actually one of the things that he got right because it's been alright ever since it's still upstairs, this is rambling, isn't it?
So, my aunt was a great cook, so mum said, but then anyone who could make a slice of toast without burning it was a great cook to my mum.
At some stage, we went up to Sonny’s farm. Now Sonny’s farm was upstate New York. It was a chicken farm or egg farm whichever, and there is movie of that as well. And he was a big big fellow with a big cigar, he came down to pick us up in, I think, it was a Ford Fairlane, got us all in anyway and drove us back up to the farm. On the way he managed to get in the wrong lane when something was happening ahead and the policeman that was directing traffic told him to turn one way and Sonny said ‘but I don’t wanna go that way, I wanna go over there’. The cop wasn’t having any of it and Sonny had to comply.
Some say his wife was a drunk, I don't know, but anyway he was a big boy. I remember her cooking in this frying pan that which was almost flat with the amount of charred whatever in it. Food tasted ok though to a 10-year-old.
One of the days we were there, Sonny fired up the BBQ and cooked steak. Dad took a [out of focus] photo of the raw meat with a pack of Peter Stuyvesant cigarettes to show the size of the meat. Once again there is film of this BBQ
The ranch had a snow sledge in the middle of the green and there is film of us riding one of their horses.
We had fun because his kids had bicycles and they were at school, so me and my brother had to hang out together and we use their bicycles. Of course, we had never come across banana seat bicycles before with cow horn handlebars, classic American bicycle, the Schwinn. The back brake was pedal backwards which locked the rear wheel. We had great fun riding down from the chicken shed, down the slope and getting to the bottom and it was all gravel and we were able to pedal backwards and skid which is also captured on film. It was fun for us at 10 and 8 years old.
Sonny had a trotting track which was curiously American invention where you have buggies and the rider sits on the back and the horses aren't allowed to gallop, they have to trot, so it's a specific thing. So, he's getting the track ready for the new season. He had this ex-military Willy's Jeep that he [I think] attached an old bed spring to the back of the Jeep and dragged it round the track. This was to soften the track and to even it out after the winter, I guess. Also, on film. We weren’t there for any of the races
I can't even remember coming back from there, but we did and someone, maybe Mrs Collins, those were the Irish friends from Astoria.
Astoria was a combination just like our family, really, between Irish and Maltese. Anyway, I am fairly sure they gave us a lift to Staten Island as I remember going by car.
Whilst in Staten Island, my aunt's friend came over, Sally and her kids and 2nd husband. Doug, Sally’s first husband, died just after having a medical examination that showed he was in good health. Her 2nd husband was a typical American, long thin. He shot himself at some stage. I think he was an alcoholic and he shot himself and so as his wife.
They came over with Nancy and the other kids and of course I had a crush on Nancy from previous when they’d come to England. And that was the first we’d seen of Polaroids and instant photos and tape recorders. We’ve got some Polaroids which [mum said] were meant not to last but 55+ years later they’re still around; how long do you want a photo to last? So here we had a fun with them.
My Uncle had a stroke and he wasn't very mobile at all. So, most things were being done around him.
So, I could remember going round with my aunt to these different places. I think as Mrs Messenger or someone, maybe that was in New York can’t remember. I remember going to the garage at this guy’s place. It was a massive garage and it was like the size of downstairs of Jenkins Grove with all the walls knocked down and probably bigger than that. Tools all methodically stored and spotlessly clean anyway, it's beside the point.
Now, as I remember Staten Island it was a wooden building, like a static. Bigger than one of our statics mind you. It had an outside toilet and there was no drainage. So, you had the outside toilet, a little wooden shack that you could barely turn around in a board across the back end of it with a seat with a hole. I kind of remember blue but god knows; perhaps that would be in one of the films the old man took anyway.
It was a good thing to go take a crap in the morning because the bucket was empty. Basically, a big tin bucket and you go round the back of the outside toilet open this hatch and pull this bucket out which is which by the end of the day, is you know, basically like most Tories full of shit. That's why it's advisable to go to the toilet in the morning. Because the higher it got, and the lower you dangled and the later you leave it, the more chance of the 2 meeting. Lina got dad to dig a pit to throw the contents of the bucket in. Great holiday pastime.
I could remember going over there to open the place up. It had shutters on the windows and we had to take all the shutters down. We had to go over by the Staten Island ferry, there’s photos of me and my brother going over past the Statue of Liberty. We had little knowledge of any of this stuff back in ‘68, you know.
I can remember opening up and the part that was actually Eddie and Linas had a long strip of grass all the way down to the ocean, their own private beach on the ocean and a little pier I remember. It was a little sandy beach and so in the water was these, I don’t know what they’re really called, but we call them horseshoe crabs and they had a big shell on the back and a big spiky tail that if you trod on the shell, the tail went up in the air and your next step that went straight through your foot. Not sure how that would happen, actually, because if you tread on the thing, then you're quite safe as a thing, comes up. Your next step isn't going to be, you know an inch, is it? Anyway, we used to get the drift wood on the beach. One of our jobs when we first got there was to get all the drift wood off of the beach and pile it up and we made a bonfire.
Anyway, me and Pete used to go down to the pier with some of this driftwood and used to kill these bloody crabs through the water, just smash them on the back. We were really environmentalists at the time, you know real nature conservationists and all that crap. It's what kids do isn’t it?
That’s where my hatred of melons came from. My aunt bought some melon, it probably wasn't the melon, but I remember eating melon over there and being sick, you know bad and I didn't eat melon again. Never, even the smell used to make me wretch. So, I didn't eat melon again until I met Althia in 2017 and I don't know what made me then, she just bought it, you know, so I just ate it, and it was fine, took a bit of nerve, but I did it anyway I digress.
I don't remember much about the inside of the place on Staten Island; obviously, there were bedrooms not sure there were enough bedrooms for all of us. There would be a bedroom for me and Pete, Granny, a bedroom for my aunt and Uncle bedroom for mum and dad.
Then we heard that Uncle Eddie had died and Lina went into about a million years’ worth of grief. So, I remember mum getting letters from Lina which were rambling on about how much she missed her Eddie and all that crap.
Lina and our maternal grandmother went on a tour which involved a stay in Malta at some stage, they were both widows by then.
Then we don't know what I'm not sure what happened. Don't know when she died, don’t know what happened after she died. I don't know how we knew that she died, not sure that mum didn't write to Mrs Collins or someone and find out that's as much as I know about them.
with help from Pete

What Is the Difference Between Tiffin and Lunch Box?
The difference between a tiffin and a lunch box can vary based on context. Tiffin often refers to a light mid-morning or midday snack or meal. The term lunch is usually reserved for a full-fledged meal eaten in a restaurant or school cafeteria.
In addition, the term tiffin can also refer to a container for carrying food. Whether you are looking for the best lunch boxes for adults or want to start an Indian tiffin service business, you should be aware of the differences between these two terms.
A tiffin can be divided into multiple layers and compartments, each with its own lid.
Traditionally, the bottom would contain the meal’s starch, such as rice or naan, the middle layer would include salad and pickles to be eaten with the carbohydrate, and the topmost tier would hold a protein such as chicken tikka masala, Butter Chicken or vegetable samosas. Today, tiffins can be packed with any combination of food from breakfast to dinner.
Unlike traditional tiffins, modern ones are made of metal, including stainless steel lunch boxes, which can be bought in bulk from wholesale tiffin manufacturers. This material is popular for a variety of reasons, including its durability and ability to keep food hot or cold.
Moreover, these containers are lightweight and aesthetically appealing. Are you looking for a tiffin service near me? Maasbest provides the best quality tiffin food in the UK.
They are available in a wide range of sizes and styles, with some even coming with built-in utensils or small cutlery. They are also leak-proof and hermetic, ensuring your food stays fresh and intact all day.
The best tiffin service in the UK serves a variety of Indian dishes, like Saag Paneer, Dal Makhani and Navratan Korma. The best Gujarati tiffin service near me offers a variety of Indian dishes to suit any taste.
What is a Tiffin Box Indian?
Tiffin or dabbas are the quintessential lunch boxes of India and the sub-continent. Hand-painted and made from stainless steel, these classic compartment boxes are easy to use, eco-conscious, plastic-free, and very stylish.
They also help keep food hot or cold longer and taste fresher than a plastic alternative. You can choose the tiffin menu on the website.
Tiffin is an archaic British word that stuck in India during colonial times.
Today might refer to a light lunch, afternoon tea or sweet snack in any Indian cuisine, from rava idlis to tamatar chaat, to the containers they are packed in, to the men who carry them to work or school (tiffin wallahs) or to restaurants serving these snacks. Punjabi Tiffin Service prepares authentic Indian food at reasonable prices.
What Is Tiffin? The tiffin is usually divided into one or more compartments; each compartment can store different foods. A typical arrangement is to have the bottom of the tiffin with the meal’s carbohydrate, such as bread, rice or naan, the middle with curries and accompaniments and then the top with proteins, such as meat or fish.
The advantage of this is that the entire meal can be eaten from the tiffin, and no additional plates are required. Are you looking for Vegetarian Tiffin Services Near Me? Maas Best brings healthy and hygienic Indian food home to the office or work.
Tiffins are now available in all shapes and sizes, with a huge variety of designs, materials and finishing options. Many tiffins are made from stainless steel, as they are durable and have a beautiful finish that looks great and is easy to clean. They are also lightweight and easy to carry. If you’re on a budget, you can even get these meals at a discount by ordering from a tiffin delivery service.

A Career in Clay
Meet Hamilton Wiltshire, Master Potter of Barbados
Written By Richard Perry
“I thought clay must feel happy in the good potter’s hand.” — Janet Fitch, White Oleander
On our third trip to Barbados, my wife decided that to celebrate her birthday she would like to meet the man behind the popular Hamilton’s Pottery brand. The trouble was, no one, including our cab driver (and his dispatcher), had any idea where to find the shop.
The glossy tourist brochures make no mention. All we knew was that it was somewhere in the St. Thomas parish, far removed from the commercial districts in Bridgetown or Holetown. A Google search advised that we were to ‘turn at Little Jerusalem junction.’
So, we headed inland toward Welchman Hall Gully and Misery Hill until a blue roundabout sign confirmed we were on the right track. Up we climbed, past rickety farm houses, past a lone foraging goat, past a tall sugar cane crop until a bumpy Allan View Road – more a pathway than a road – took us to a non-descript grey building with a sign confirming that we’d arrived.
“You’re a hard man to find,” said my wife as we entered the shaded workspace. “I’m the Shelley who sent you the email from Canada.”
“Oh yes, I remember,” said Mr. Hamilton Wiltshire, greeting us with a wide smile as he placed a handle on another clay mug being readied for the kiln. “Hello Ms. Shelley. Pleased to meet you and welcome to Barbados!”
Shelley told him how we had received gifts of his pottery in recent years. She began her shopping while I chatted with this amiable Bajan craftsman. Turns out he has been turning Barbadian clay into pottery now for more than four decades.
“I began when I was a teenager and heard a radio spot promoting government pottery training right out of high school,” he said. “From there I took further training, including study in Italy, and started my business selling Indigenous pottery.”
In fact, Wiltshire used Indigenous Potteries as a business name, until a customer wandered into the shop one day and asked if this was ‘Hamilton’s Pottery’. After another visitor asked the same question, he decided to personalize his brand. A wise decision.
Today, Hamilton runs the countryside business with the help of his wife, sister and cousin. Their son lives abroad in the UK.
“I hope that maybe someday he will come home and work with us,” he said. “I am hoping to find a younger person, someone with the right attitude, to be trained to work with me.”
Wiltshire produces a range of stunning ceramic products, many of which are sold through retail outlets such as the popular Cave Shepherd chain of eight stores and the Best of Barbados shops. He also sells from a tent during the popular Holetown Festival in mid- February each year.
“The festival keeps me up until 2 a.m., but I love it,” he adds, while setting the latest mug onto a shelf to dry before being baked in the kiln.
His pottery is made with red clay sourced in nearby St. Andrews. The end products include functional and traditional pots – monkey jars, table ware and vases – along with decorative candle shades, flying fish wall art, chimes and spoon ladles.
During our brief visit, his cousin was inserting individual plugs of clay onto a mould press, which produced a ready-to-bake spoon ladle. As each item was retrieved from the mould, he trimmed the excess clay by hand. All of the colourful glazes that are baked onto Wiltshire’s creations are environmentally safe.
Earlier in his career Wiltshire was encouraged to ship products to overseas markets, but the huge demand on his time took away from what he loved most – the craft itself.
“I had to ask myself the question: Am I a potter or a packer?” He eventually cut back from ten staff to three. He will, however, still produce some custom orders.
Hamilton rung up our purchases and helped wrap them, offering a generous discount on top of the already reasonable wholesale price. It was a huge saving over the retail markups found elsewhere.
On our return to Holetown, our cab driver Dwight tells us his real passion is cooking. He has studied in the US and UK and is considering taking a course in fine cuisine in Montreal, Canada. So, it was no surprise to me that my kind wife added something special as we paid our fare – one of Wiltshire’s specialty kitchen items – a ceramic spoon ladle glazed in beautiful Caribbean blues and greens.
“Something to remember our trip by,” she said. “And now you’ll always know where to bring your passengers if they’re looking for Hamilton’s shop.”
Weeks later back in Canada, it is a chilly winter’s morning, a far cry from the 28-degree Celsius climate in Barbados. We reach for our coffee mugs. Smiling, we remember our search for the happy Bajan potter who has pleased thousands of customers throughout the Caribbean and overseas.
Turning the mug over, we read the inscription on the bottom: Hamilton’s Pottery, Barbados. A pleasant reminder of the day we met this extraordinary craftsman and gentleman. -30-

The most effective method to Approach Purchasing A Fish Tank
Fishes are a lovely endowment of nature and will elegance the presence of any home or office. Fish tanks consider sensations of harmony and quietness and it is said that fish bring karma. There are lots of fish tanks available to be purchased on the web and at astounding rates as well. If you have any desire to get your very own aquarium, there are sure things you should consider.
Space requirements
Sort out where in your home or office you believe that your aquarium should endlessly make certain to allot the space in that space you have accessible. As indicated by how much space is available to you, you should pick a tank that suits you best. Keep in mind, an aquarium will be weighty and may require a stand. If you have any desire to put it on a surface in your home, ensure holding the weight is sufficient. Assuming you have never had a fish tank, it's a good idea to begin more modestly so you can get the vibe of the way things are to have one at home. Assuming you pick a more modest tank, pick one that is more extensive so there is a satisfactory surface region for oxygen to be ingested.
Material
These days aquariums arrive in various straightforward materials. Glass and acrylic are the most well-known and have their upsides and downsides. Acrylic is lighter than glass and gives a more clear undistorted perspective on the fish inside. While seeing fish tanks available to be purchased ensure you check the material they are made of.
Cost factor
At the point when you are thinking about the acquisition of a fish tank, a ton of exploration will be expected to get what you really want for a deal cost. The web is a decent spot to begin while searching for fish tanks available to be purchased. A few wholesalers furnish free extras with aquariums. Pursue the ideal decision by picking higher standards no matter what. Free embellishments don't generally mean great quality adornments. Look on the net for good can hope for fish tanks available to be purchased and different embellishments you might require like channels and lights.
Sort of fish
Perhaps the main thing to do after you have purchased and set up your aquarium is to get data with respect to various types of fish. Assuming you will have just a single kind of fish, that is fine yet assuming you need a bright aquarium, ensure you figure out what types of fish can live respectively. There are sure varieties that essentially can't live in a similar climate. Data like this can be acquired from destinations that have fish tanks available to be purchased. On the off chance that you have a companion or a relative who has some expertise, you can ask them for help too.
Purchasing a fish tank resembles carrying a pet into the house. You need to keep up with it and deal with the fish inside. It is moderately bother-free contrasted with most different pets and can give the proprietor an incredible feeling of satisfaction to watch fish develop.

that writes the thoughtful, incisive piece about women's rights and legal precedent today but I am not that person. Or, at least, that is not the sort of thing I do now (which is, I guess, one of life's ironies since it is where I started out decades ago).
No, I am the person who might be able to offer up another thought on a development like this:
Although, tbh, I am not sure that what I will have to say today will have any value and I am certain it will (once again) end badly, no matter what.
Things go viral or become memes by means of an "invisible hand" operation (cf Otto Neurath) in which several disparate actors recognise a strong cultural message reduced to an easily accessible and communicable phrase or representation. These actors find the message engaging and compelling and they believe others will too. Often, they believe this because the message "speaks" to identity but in some cases it is because it speaks to the satisfaction of their immediate needs and desires. Among the actors who are likely to spread viral media are those who think that it will allow them to participate commercially in a community defined by illegal activity while remaining "off the record". That is to say, messages which contain a coded dogwhistle about drugs or weapons, say, will get a helping hand in the race to go viral. The 1992 song "Ebeneezer Goode" by The Shamen, is an example. It was known in the British club scene to be a song about using the party drug, Ecstasy, and that fact—plus the drug's own ability to increase tolerance to repetitive music—helped pave the way for an otherwise very unremarkable song to become a big hit in the UK. Today, it may well be that many viral memes which carry a subtextual message about drugs become popular in a way that is not wholly organic. That is to say it is perfectly possible to imagine that major players in the wholesale drugs industry use bots to spread whatever message they think will best serve their commercial purposes.
Returning to Roe v Wade, I don't know if this kind of subtextual "pump" is happening with the SC decision in a corner of the web somewhere but I have been prompted to consider whether it is.* In this regard, the only reliable observation I have is that "Roe" is, in another context, a word for fish eggs and Fish and Egg are both common slang words for Class-A drugs. That could make the case name attractive for the purposes of conveying messages about, well, Yoda and Yahoo. Case is slang for broadly the same thing.
What I can add to that is that "Samuel Alito" is an anagram of "Tile—Alamo, US",** where "tile" may mean "stone square" or "brick", ie a kilo of Fish or Egg. In addition or alternatively, "Opinion[s]" is an anagram of "Onion—IP/PI/is P" where Onion is slang for 1oz and the residual letters represent a variety of options, including Pacific International and Piedmont (formerly Henson) Airlines. Alternatively, "Wade" is an international airport in Bermuda (LF Wade Airport near Hamilton) and a small private airfield in Illinois. Finally, "Court" is a non-determinate anagram of "Our C: T" or "Our T: C" and/or S.C. is a US state.
That is all I have and I should add that, today, I do not find it particularly compelling.
*TBC, the decision relates to a question which is culturally and politically fundamental and that evidently means that most online comment will be genuine in the sense that it will be motivated by the fundamental issues transparently at stake.
** Or, more luridly, SA Mule to ALI (Single Adult; eg, Alice Airport, TX)
