Okay now I've gotten myself angry again. Every time a medical professional is abusive/neglectful the overwhelming response is "Their job is so stressful and underpaid! They deal with so many rude and abusive patients, of course they're like that!!"
You know who else has stressful, underpaid jobs and deal with rude and abusive customers a lot? Retail workers. But if a retail worker started assaulting all of their customers you'd hear all about it, wouldn't you? The consequences would be enormous, and there would be an overwhelmingly negative response, even if it was exclusive to rude customers.
Now imagine this was the norm, and it was socially acceptable, encouraged even, in retail jobs to abuse and assault your customers whenever you feel like it, for any perceived sleight, just because they need to buy groceries and you have to serve them. It would be all over the news, it would be an international scandal with arrests all over the place, there would be exposés of the secret culture of abuse and assault in retail workplaces on every channel and news source with interviews with the victims. Everyone would know about it and everyone would care, because of course that's fucked up.
So why is it different when your victims are sick and rely on you to survive?

A police officer was seen stomping on a boy’s head while a taser already subdued him in a disturbing viral video from Manchester, UK. In the 40-second clip, the boy, lying on the ground, shows no resistance as the officer repeatedly attacks him.
Greater Manchester Police said their unit had responded to an “altercation” at Manchester Airport. They justified the violence by claiming “there was a clear risk during this assault of their firearms being taken away,” but did not address the excessive force used against the seemingly compliant suspect.
Amar Rafiq, the eyewitness who filmed the incident, told local press, “I was just gobsmacked. The police officer kicked the guy in the face. Everyone was worried about themselves; they started panicking and running away, fearing they would be attacked.”

I don’t understand why the hotel didn’t call an ambulance, the first time Liam came down acting erratic and passing out/convulsing. that’s clearly a medical issue?? like I know it was drug and alcohol induced but that’s still a medical issue and they should have called whatever the Argentina equivalent of 911 is. I wonder if they would have handled it differently if he had been sober and was still passing out/acting strange. it makes me think it’s some stigma thing surrounding substance abuse. so sad and tragic and could have been prevented in many different ways
I agree; both that they should have handled it SO differently (and treated it as the medical issue it clearly was at that point) and that the stigma of intoxication was absolutely why they didn't. It's so fucking sad.

how to appeal to voters of any party in this country: ask for funding for the NHS, they love that shit here 🌈🩺💊
(no but for real, fund the NHS holy heck, the waiting lists have breached containment of the trans & mental health servicese by now! as someone who's a patient at like 5 different specialist departments, it's rough out here)

Just FYI for anyone who doesn't know- this is a police liaison officer- sometimes known as a protest liaison officer. They wear these blue vests, and try to act like your friend at protests.
They are not your friend, that is super important to remember. They are gathering intelligence. They will try to get your details, covertly or otherwise, and listen in on conversations between protestors.
A lot of the first PLOs were FIT officers (intelligence officers) first, and there is also evidence of PLOs harassing activists at home: https://netpol.org/police-liaison-officers/
They've also been involved in assaults on the press: https://netpol.org/2014/02/04/police-liaison-officer-assaults-press-photographer/
They may tell you that they want to work with you, or to help protests remain peaceful and so on, but intelligence gathering is a key part of their role: https://netpol.org/2014/06/17/police-liaison-intelligence-balcombe/
Anyway, just remember guys- don't talk to cops, no matter what colour they are wearing.
Also, remember, currently, legally you do not have to inform police of static protests, and you do not have to discuss marches with police.

And herein lies a significant crux of the issue.
It was not remotely “unbelievable” to his colleagues, who could have spoken up at any point, but who happily continued to let the creature continue to leverage his authority to prey on marginalised women.
It is *certainly* not “unbelievable” to the marginalised women and trans folk of all genders who are regularly sexually assaulted and sexually abused by police officers. Particularly BIPOC and disabled ones.
If *anyone* found it “unbelievable” that a Met police officer did this, they weren’t even remotely paying attention.
It’s like everyone who says disableism, racism and transphobia is “shocking”. Nope, pal, it’s routine. Sickening, yes. Shameful, yes. But not shocking. If you’re paying any attention whatsoever.
Finding police brutality “unbelievable” is a sign of looking away from the structural scale of the issue because you want to live in the comforting lie that policing is just and justified. It makes it *immeasurably* harder for survivors to get justice and it makes women and trans people of all genders immeasurably less safe.

Patrick grabbed Tom by the neck and threw him against the brick wall in the alleyway. Both men stared into each others eyes as Tom's lip quivered for a moment. Patrick's 6'7" broad and muscular frame towered over Tom as he placed a hand on the wall behind. Tom felt the wall as Patrick slowly moved his finger up Tom's body armour. Tom's manhood twitched as Patrick began to draw circles on the armour, before abruptly stopping and stepping away. Tom felt discouraged and sighed as Patrick slowly moved away. Then from nowhere Patrick quickly turned back and squarely punched Tom in his armoured torso. Tom's flagpole immediately stood to attention as the force of Patrick's strike vibrated through the armour and into his defined body. Slightly winded, Tom bend over in response to the strike. Patrick's hands quickly spun Tom around and pushed him into the wall face first. Patrick then began to push Tom's feet apart with his booted foot before grasping Tom's hands and bringing them behind his back. With a quick, cold, clicking sound, Tom's hands where handcuffed behind his back. His erect penis trying to dig a hole in the brick wall. Patrick held Tom against the wall with one strong, muscular hand while reaching for his radio. "1642 & 1932 going on break." The radio fell silent for a moment before a female voice responded with "Acknowledged 1642. Enjoy your break Sir." Patrick then grasped the back of Tom's collar, dragged him away from the wall, then whispered into Tom's ear, before marching him deeper into the alleyway. "Oh, I will."

It's always awful to see pretentious twats on the news, but especially when they talk about things they've had no experience in. Seeing upper class, Christian men go on and on about how we should make Britian a "Christian" place again is out of this world. Seeing upper class (and let's be real, probably Christian) men talk about how people in poverty should just *work in these shitty jobs provided by our fucked government and earn minimum wage* because what are they going to do? They basically don't have a choice. Seeing *upper class christian men* talk about women's rights, gay peoples rights, people of colours rights, like it's some kind of epic tale in a book. They have no fucking idea what they're talking about, for any of it.
Christianity is a fucked religion (controversial, I know) with again, pretentious twats speaking the "words of God" which are a load of shit. Most of the time it's used as an excuse to be a homophobe or a sexist. Okay, David, why don't we follow every single rule ever put into that musty book? Why don't we tell left handed people they're going to hell? Or tell people who are mean that they're going down there? Why is it gay people? Correct me if I'm wrong, the Bible stated "man must not sleep with *boy*" and not "man must not sleep with man." You know, because pedophila feels like more of a crime then *gay people.* just a hunch. Commenting "Jesus loves you" or "find god" on any post that is someone different. An alternative person. It's so stupid. Why do you care? Follow your little religion and fucking leave us alone.
Poverty is a huge problem across the ENTIRE world, and I'm sure that speaks in volumes about how fucked up of a world we are. The fact that these people who are fighting to survive every day are being told to "just work" by people who never had to work a day in their life for shit is infuriating. Upper class people in general irritate me. I think it's the arrogance that they have. They're a bit.. Snobbish, you know? Even from just teenage girls being naive and laughing at poorer kids for not having an iPhone, to rich adults looking down on these people with such disgust. Seriously viewing these human beings as less then their pretty little £1000 poodle. What the fuck. The government taxes people - taxes the poor people who literally can't afford it if they want to eat. And just the normal people. Why not tax the rich more? People say "oh, we do tax them." Not as much? Do they need all that money? Do they really? Why can't they lend some of that "well earned" (passed down from generations) money to people who need it. I'm sure they'll live.
People on the news talk about women and gay people like they're a shit stain on a wall, but I'm sure the stain would get better rights. It's debates about women's rights to give birth, women's rights to wear what they please, women's rights to turn down a man. Literally fucking anything a woman does is shit on by society. Gay people are debated - should being trans be allowed? Is being gay a sin? Hmm, such tricky questions... Why not just let them live? People point out "oh, that school shooter was trans" or "that rapist was gay" not to say that school shootings or rape cases are bad, no no, just to shit on the LGBTQ community. Nobody points out that a school shooter was a white man. Why don't we just say "that school shooter was a horrible person who deserves to die" and not focus on the community they were a part of? Maybe mourn the lives lost instead of rejoice in the fact that you've got new things to hate the LGBTQ community for.
What a pleasant world we live in, huh? I could go on more, but I wont. I'll probably spiral into a ton of stuff about capitalism and why it should be torn to the ground.
Jesus Christ, I wrote more than intended. Happy reading
