The air was musty and thick, breathing hard and painful, dark surrounded everything exept for a weak, pinkish glare that was accompanied by a metalic clanking noise, something that stood out in the quiet, empty void of the lowest parts of the Undercity.

Coughing and grunting could be heards as heavy objects were shoved around by various people, some young, some old, some scarred, others bat-like, it didn't matter who you were down there, nothing about you did, all of you were just worthless and useless pieces of moving meat.

Time from time muffled words escaped the workers mouths, their meaning varied. Some were complaints, others just small talk to make the work at least a bit easier. A shipment of shimmer was already being prepared.

You wiped swear off your forehead and leaned against a barrel you just finished loading, your little child arms supporting the rest. Panting you stared at the ground, your eyes wide and tired, until finally, you collided with the cold, dusty floor.

A bright, orange light triggered your eyes as they started to tear awake, loud noises were muted by your fading sleepiness. You shot awake, climbing up onto your feet. Now your fully open eyes were darting around, panic setting in, you realised what the bright light was. Run.

Adrenaline filled veins shoved blood around your body and into your muscles. Your legs seemed to have a mind of its own, carrying you away from danger. Breathing was hard, you were heavy, still you ran. Head turned right and left. Fire was spreading. Burning figures wailed in the background, you didn't spare them any mind.

Your pace faltered, the exauation getting to you again and making you collapse to the neared building wall, scrambling into your own embrace, trying your best to breathe. Slowly rising shadow covered you, your eyes moved to look in its way, catching only a glimpse of a piltoverian uniform before a sharp pain screamed through the left side of your head. You collapsed again. Fuck.

You awoke in a cold room, concrete surrounding you in every direction but one, from where light seeped into the room through metal bars. Is this a prison? You stood up and looked around, finally noticing another figure was there with you. A tough looking girl with dark pink hair was giving you a hard glare.

Okayuyyy so basically in my not yet fully formed opinion. The attempts at depth were not that great and the accidental depths were fantasmic. & I kind of got annoyed at certain twists at first but as they continued to play out and as barry keoghan continued to fucking #BODY i was like actually yeah sure im on board wit hthis. Yeah sure im on board with this as well. Yea sure fuck the dirt idgaf. But anyway to get real again the #deepness and the complexities that i do believe were not actually entirely intentional went hardest. I dont think they were entirely not intentional either ig like the writer cant be fucking blind but like.. I think she thought she was writing class commentary that looks like fag shit when really this was fag shit that looks like (mid to bad) class commentary. Like the class thing was mostly nothing. But the fag shit was kinda something. I dont know i only finished this movie like 20 minutes ago.

SO!!! For context With how a Lot of this works, it's All based on how They work in Minecraft (with A few exceptions) :) Rarity, usages, and Some properties are retained but Because this is Basically a "Minecraft but It Got Real" pirate Au, things Are altered :)

Redstone is the Most widely used power source And conduit for Machinery, and based On how easy it is To collect in base game, its Very very common. But it requires a ton Of extra machinery to Work properly, so its One of those super-common-But-only-like-8-people-know-How-to-use-it-To-its-full-potential Kinda thing. i Have a few more property notes thats Just some silly world building, like How redstone glows Extremely bright And burns when in Use, and that The powder is Soft and stains easily :)

Lapis is just as Common but has Waaay more uses, such as Potions, drinks, medicine, Enchantments, and Occasionally machinery (Depending on Size and what The machine is used For. its Mostly automatons that Use lapis). it Has the same textural properties As redstone, but lapis Is cold to the touch And doesnt glow as Much. It's a decent conduit for More magical things (redstone isnt Magical, it just Has a lot of charge. very Reactive :)!!)(Glowstone is, in fact, Vaguely magic)

Glowstone!! A brittle rock From the Nether that breaks off In flecks :)!! its Used in lights, potions, and Machinery despite it being Slightly harder to obtain (Especially with How pricey most Hunters are..)(hunters Being people who Collect ingredients for A living). it Requires a conduit and Lapis in order to be Used in most machines, so Theyre usually reserved for Automatons

Amethyst!!!!! Very rare (I CAN NEVER FIND A GEODE IN MINECRAFT SO ITS RARE.) and used for Glass products (specifically Glasses, goggles, Spyglasses, etc etc) and Sometimes machinery (Mostly for Machines that use lapis and Glowstone because Of their need for A proper conduit). Amethyst is a Very pricey material So its really rare to see just Everyone with some form Of amethyst product (Aside from glasses, theyre Mixed with normal Glass so theyre a Lot cheaper)

skulk is Also used in some machines But thats like. you gotta have a Toooon of Coin in order To get skulk sensors And conduits. so The royal navy has Skulk in their Ships :)

uhmmm Thats it for The silly little Machine materials :)

then Potions but i Need to figure them Out a ton more... for The most part Theyre made in The same way :)!

the One potion alteration i DO have figured out is Coral being used in Water breathing potions Instead of pufferfish

splash Potions depend On the type of Bottle used to store The potion instead Of the Potion materials

potion Length and Strength is based On lapis and glowstone Instead of redstone And glowstone

it's not everyday dan heng acts like this. heck, it's even weirder as you two haven't even gotten to that kind of relationship.

meanwhile, both of you and dan heng are left to bask in each other's embarrassment.

"soooooo" you let out a nervous chuckle. "was that, you know, uhh, part of the script? did march give you the wrong script to mess with you?" looking at his face for answers, you're left disappointed as the same, uninterested expression stays on his face.

after a few moments of awkward silence, march finally calls out your attention.
