“How do you like it?” Sam asked.
You turned to the mirror, eyes wide and mouth agape, admiring your new suit.
“This is awesome!” You squealed.
Sam, Tony, and Nat had deisgned a new suit for you. After your last battle, your suit had been torn to shreds. It had been months since you were able to go out in the field and you’d be anxious to fight crime. Now that you had your new suit, you were now able to fight crime.
You were named Fox. You were sly, witty, and and charming. Not just in your moves, but your personality, too. You had been working alongside your dad, Iron Man, for 7 years. You were 10 when you started, obviously too young to actually be fighting, but you were his right hand woman at all times. You helped him with his suit, team, and plans on how to deal with missions.
Your suit was a dark orange body suit, much like Nat’s. You had fingerless gloves, black combat boots, and an orange mask that went around your eyes. You had a black stripe down your suit’s back, much like a fox’s. You also had a utility belt with a grapling hook, taser, and pepper spray — you could never be too careful in the city. You and Tony tried hard to keep your identity safe, especially since you were still in high school.
“Do you think we need to add anything?” Tony asked.
“Can I get rockets on the bottoms on my shoes like you?” You asked.
Tony chuckled, “We’d have to change the whole material of your suit, cupcake. You don’t like metal, remember?”
You grumbled, “Yeah, yeah. Well, I love it! Thank you guys so much.” You turned to them with a big smile.
“No problem, babe,” Nat smiled. “You have training with me today at five.”
You nodded, “Noted.”
“There will be someone else joining you in trianing today,” Tony said.
“Who? Is it Bucky?” You asked. “No, he’s new,” Tony said.
“Wow, that gives me a lot. Who is it?” You pressed.
“You’ll see. He’s actually pretty good for just starting out,” Sam smirked.
You sighed, knowing they were gonna make it a surprise.
“Well, I can’t wait!” You faked enthusiasm. You didn’t like surprises.
You went off and up to your room, changing out of your suit and into running shorts and a t-shirt. You decided to take a nap before your training.
You woke up 2 hours later, still as exhausted as before. You filled up your water bottle before going into the gym. You saw Nat and a brunette boy. He wasn’t too much taller and by the back of his head, he didn’t look too much older.
“Hey, Nat,” you greeted as you walked in and set your water bottle near the mat.
“Hey, Y/n! This is our new recruit, Peter Parker. You probably know him as Spider-Man,” Nat smiled. Peter turned around and his eyes widened.
His heart started to race and his face turned red as he looked over you. Your eyes were bright and lively, your smile being the most gorgeous smile he’d ever seen. Your skin flawless and you had no makeup on, but you still looked beautiful.
“Hi,” you smiled. “I’m Y/n Stark,” you held out your hand.
Peter opened his mouth to speak, but the only sound that came out was a squeak. Nat and you chuckled at his shock.
“H-hi. I’m Parker. No, Pe-Peter, he stuttered and shook your hand.
“Not used to meeting important people, huh?” You smirked.
“Ye-yeah, but also pretty people,” he blurted. His face turned a darker shade of red and he slapped his mad over his mouth.
The action made Nat giggle and his words made flustered as well.
“Thank you, Peter,” you said shyly and looked down at your shoes.
“Ready to get to work, love birds?” Nat teased.
You rolled your eyes and nodded. You took a long sip of water.
“We are gonna start on the treadmill, do some weights, and I’m gonna teach you some combat moves,” Nat instructed.
You and Peter nodded and got up on the treadmills.
“One mile today. Remember to pace yourself. If you get tired, don’t be afraid to slow down a little,” Nat said.
You started the treadmill at 3.5 so you can warm up for a few minutes before running. You took a small sip of your water as you sped-walked. You looked over and saw Peter already running his mile. Your brows cocked upwards as you saw him running at 6.0 speed.
You worked your way up to 6.0 speed, finishing your mile in 6 minutes. Peter, however, finished 3 minutes after you.
“I said pace yourself, kid,” Nat said.
Peter blushed again and nodded.
“Next time, follow Y/n’s lead. She paces herself nicely,” Nat said while you took a drink of water.
“Thanks, Nat. I have been doing this for a long time,” you smiled.
“How long? Are you a superhero?” Peter asked.
“Mhm,” you hummed. “I’ve been helping my dad since I was 10. I’ve been a superhero for 3 years.”
“What’s your superhero name?” Peter asked.
“Fox.”
“Oh, my God! Really? I-I am such a big fan. You were what actually inspired me to become Spider-Man. I think it’s so cool how you save people and fight off bad guys without any superpowers,” Peter gushed.
“Thank you, Pete,” you giggled at his excitement.
“You’re welcome. Wow, this is so cool. I am working with Fox, Iron Man, Black Widow,” Peter smiled.
“You’re lucky, kid,” Nat smiled and patted his back. “Okay, why don’t you all stretch. Peter, have you ever benched before?”
Peter shook his head while stretching his hamstrings.
“Okay, we’ll start you out with 45 pounds. If that’s too light, we’ll bump it up to 50,” Nat said and put the weights on the bar. “Y/n, what do you wanna do today?”
“Uh, I’ll do a leg and glute day today. My arms need a break,” you said.
“Rock and roll, then. I’ll spot you, Parker,” Nat said. Peter went to bench press while you went to the kickback machine.
You and Peter worked in weights for about an hour. You did a variety of workouts while Peter mainly focused on how to use each machine and which would be most beneficial for him.
“Okay. Grab a drink, use the bathroom, whatever you need before we do some fighting,” Nat said.
You both went to do your things before you were going to fight. You came back in the gym, stretching your arms while walking in.
“Ready to work, Pete?” You asked the boy and patted his back. He nodded and choked on his water when he looked up at you
You changed our of your shorts and t-shirt to black biker shorts and a grey sports bra. The biker shorts hugged your body perfectly and the top of your breats showed, making Peter stare.
You noticed and smirked. “My eyes are up here, kid.”
His eyes immediately shot up and his face blushed for what seemed like the 100th time today.
“I am so sorry. I just don’t see girls in bras, like, ever. In gym class we all wear t-shirts, which makes sense. I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable, I swear I’m not a prevert or anything, you just look really uh... nice? I—”
Nat and you turned to each other, amusement played on your faces. You turned back to the rambling boy.
“It’s okay, Peter. I get it, boobs are nice to look at. Especially when you’re a hormonal, almost always horny, teenage boy,” you teased.
“I’m not horny!” He claimed, embarrassing himself more.
“Don’t worry, I never assumed you were. I was just speaking generally,” you smiled.
“Oh,” he said and he looked down sheepishly.
“No worries. Now, let’s get goin’,” you said.
Peter nodded and followed you to the mat.
“So, we are going to practice some basic moves. Y/n, I know you already know them, but there is nothing wrong with reviewing,” Nat said.
You both nodded, waiting for further instruction.
“So, the first one is simple, yet very dangerous. It’s also fairly easy, in my opinion. It’s called the rear neck choke,” Nat said. “Peter, you’re gonna stand behind Y/n and put your arm around her neck.”
Peter nodded and awkwardly stood behind you. Your butt brushed against his crotch, making him cough awkwardly. He put his arm around your neck. The skin-to-skin contact made your heart flutter. You cleared your throat, too, breathing deeply to try and slow your heart rate.
“Good. Now, you basically just squeeze until the person passes out. Y/n, why don’t you demenstrate the next move,” Nat said.
You smiled and took ahold of Peter’s arm. You then crouched down and pulled him over your head. You flipped him over on the mat.
“Ow,” he whined as he fell. He looked up at you and couldn’t help but smile. You stood tall, hands on your hips and a smile on your face.
“Now, Peter, what you can do when she does that is hook your legs on her ankles and pull so she looses balance. You then can reach for her ankle and throw her across the room. But, we arent going to do that. What you can do, though, is do the ankle bit I told you. Then you can pin her down,” Nat explained.
Peter looked at you two hesitantly. “I don’t want to hurt you.”
Y/n chuckled, “It’s all right. You won’t hurt me that bad, I promise.”
Peter nodded and did as he was told. He hooked his feet over your ankle and jerked you so your feet gave out beneth you. He then got up quickly to pin you down, but you were quicker.
You rolled over and pinned him down instead. Your left hand held his wrists above his head while your right held down his shoulder. Your legs went around his waist and squeezed slightly to make sure he wouldn’t move. Your head leaned down to his, a triumphant smile resting on your lips.
“W-wha-” Peter was at a loss for words. Not just because you beat him, but how close you two were.
He breathed in deeply, catching a whiff of your scent. You smelled like cherries and vanilla. Your skin was smooth, clear, and glowing from the sheer film of sweat on your face. You looked like an angel to him, nonetheless.
“And that is why you gotta be faster, Parker. But you’ll learn in time. You’re already pretty good on the field by yourself,” Nat said.
Peter nodded. You got up off of him and helped him up.
“Wanna try that again? I promise I won’t do that again,” you suggested.
“Sure,” Peter nodded and laid back on the mat.
He hooked onto your ankle again. As you promised, you let him pin you down. You watched the way he moved. He was swift and fast. The way his muscles flexed when he grabbed your wrist made your stomach flip.
He got on top of you, pinning both your wrists like you did to him. His free hand went to the side of your face, helping him support himself so he wouldn’t be laying directly on top of you.
Your heart rate quickened once more and you felt like it was hard to breathe. A few strands of his hair were hanging down from his head and he had sweat glistening on his forehead. His honey-brown eyes was something you found yourself getting lost in quickly. He was so handsome.
“Uh... Y/n?” Peter muttered, catching your attention.
You blinked rapidly and looked away in embarrassment. “Sorry.”
“It’s okay,” he gave you a friendly smile and got off of you.
“Okay, water break. You two practice those few moves a few more times,” Nat said.
You got up and took a big sip of your water bottle. You then got back to training with Peter. He was a fast learner and almost every time pinned you down. You, however, were slightly faster.
Each time you got on top of him, Peter couldn’t help the butterflies in his stomach. He’d never been this close to a girl before.
Thirty minutes later and the session was over.
“Good job, you two. Next time we’ll get into more moves involving punching and such. See you later, kiddos,” Nat smiled at you two. She left the gym and you turned to Peter.
“It was nice meeting you, Pete. Maybe we can hang out outside of training?” You suggested.
Peter’s eyes lit up and he nodded excitedly.
“Y-yeah. I’d like that.”
“Great. Give me your number next time. See you, Spidey,” you waved and left the gym.
Peter jumped up and down. He couldn’t wait to tell Ned.

i saw that your requests are open and wondered if youd be interested in doing a nalu fic where lucy is the maintenance person for natsus building and natsu keeps breaking stuff so that he gets to see her (or vice versa if you prefer) dont worry if you dont like or arent inspired by the idea or if you are too busy :)
Happy the WingCat
Word Count; 1544
A/N; I- I think this ask is like two years old and
I’m so sorry nonny
Lucy’s phone chirped, and she already knew who it was without looking away from the screen of her laptop. All of her friends knew better than to message Lucy this late in the evening when she had an eight am deadline, and there was only one person who had her number that Lucy wouldn’t immediately consider a friend.
Hottie 4B: :(
She sighed, eyeing her half-written article. And the sentence she’d been trying to rewrite for the past ten minutes. Maybe a break wouldn’t be the worst thing. And she could grab some fries from the diner down the street, seeing as how she hadn’t eaten in… Lucy focused on the clock in the corner of her screen, cringing at the time. Okay, she definitely needed a break.
Lucy gave Plue some head scratches from where the small ball of white fluff was curled up on the ottoman, small ‘bruffs’ letting her know he was dreaming little doggy dreams and wouldn’t miss her for the few minutes she was gone.
Why Lucy had accepted being the holder of spare keys for the apartment she didn’t know. Something about saving the residence money each time someone lost a key, a fifty dollar slash to her rent each month, and the high rates the locksmith charged for certain tenants. She sighed, slipping her own key into the pocket of her loose shorts, small key with 4B written on it in pink nail polish clutched in her other hand.
The one flight of stairs to the ground level was quick enough to take, walls once off-white and now more yellow, strawberry red carpets worn but not unkempt giving the whole interior the feeling of age rather than neglect. Lucy didn’t spend a lot of time on the first floor of the two story apartment, though lately it seemed she was walking the hall at least once a week. She couldn’t help her smile as she saw the author of the text that had called her down, leaning against the wall at the back. The building was only four units deep and it gave everything a cozy feeling, and admittedly made Lucy’s job as key holder easier as she only needed to look after 15 additional keys.
Lucy didn’t think she’d ever seen a dye job as vibrant or long lasting as his, shaggy spikes a bright pink. It complemented his rich brown skin nicely. Reminded Lucy of the model she had trained under a few years ago, before she left the front of the camera to write articles instead. Pari was spending the summer home in Kolkata with her family, and spamming Lucy’s Snapchat with pictures that had her yearning for a bit of her old life, if only so she could fund travel and be able to explore the world.
“Yo.”
Lucy startled, pulled from daydreaming about Paris and Mumbai and Cairo. The man gave her a confused smile, his head cocked as he got her attention. Blush heated Lucy’s face and neck as she realized she had zoned out staring at him, which was a shame, seeing as he was hot enough that he should be appreciated when stared at.
“So how’d you lose your key this time, Natsu?” Lucy asked, quickly sweeping her wandering daydreams away. Although Cairo would be a very good setting for her mystery and adventure short story she was working on in her spare time. Natsu’s bright smile and deep laugh pulled her focus back, and he ran his hand through his hair almost sheepishly.
“Didn’t lose it exactly. My cat swiped at my key chain as I was closing the door and now it’s a foot on the wrong side of the lock.”
Lucy cooed, clasping her hands in front of her chest at the mention of a cat. Hot, kind smile, and a pet lover? Lucy might have just found her Prince Charming, decked out in a leather jacket, ripped jeans, and pink hair.
“I’ll open your door if I get to play with the kitty,” Lucy said, grinning. Natsu rolled his eyes, crossing his arms over his chest as he took a step closer to her.
“We up to blackmail now?” He asked, his own grin sharp as he looked down at her. Their height difference seemed to amuse him as he noticed it, and Lucy couldn’t help but feel the heat radiating from him, their bodies less than an arm length apart now.
“Gotta spice it up with how often I’m down here,” Lucy resisted tugging on his scarf. She wasn’t sure where the urge was coming from, but damn if it wasn’t strong. And if he didn’t look like he had kissable lips.
“I like spice.”
Lucy bit her lip, giggling under his sly grin. He made her feel like a teenager, and she didn’t even know his last name! They stood like that for a minute, grinning at each other. Lucy tucked a piece of hair behind her ear, heart pounding at the way Natsu’s gaze followed the movement with an intensity that almost scared her. She kind of wanted to keep it on her, too.
And then there was a very small and sad meow from the other side of the door.
Lucy took a step back, coughing and hiding her blush. She held up the key to Natsu’s apartment sheepishly, Natsu’s returning grin back to the easy and lighthearted one from before.
He stepped back, gesturing for her to unlock the door. He never asked her to give him the key, saying he trusted her not to be some creep and that he’ll just get a copy from hers. Lucy stepped forward resuming the familiar position, needing to wiggle the key to get the last pin unlocked. She was fairly sure it had been bent a little beyond repair the last time Natsu had lost his key before Lucy became the holder of them all. Something about a drinking contest and a dent in the wood that was suspiciously the same size as a pink haired tenants foot by the doorknob. Lucy smiled at the satisfying clack of the door unlocking.
The door swung open, and Lucy nearly lost her mind.
“Happy what the hell,” Natsu groaned. Happy meowed proudly, bright blue fur broken by a white stomach and tail tip, as well as a red lanyard wrapped all around his body. By his face was Natsu’s key, half in the cats mouth and being gnawed on for daring to touch him.
“You are the most perfect thing I have ever seen,” Lucy breathed, crouching and holding out her hands to the cat.
“Mraye.”
Another coo caught in Lucy’s throat at his chirp, trotting over to her and crawling into her arms. His purrs were loud, headbutting Lucy’s chin as she stood.
She looked at Natsu, daring him to take Happy from her. He looked at his cat, half fond and half unamused. “He’s friendly, but he ain’t ever been this friendly with anyone.”
“I’m keeping him,” Lucy said flatly, gently scratching behind one of Happy’s ears. He chirped again, leaning into Lucy’s touches.
“Only if I getta take you on a date.”
Natsu and Lucy stared at each other, both equally shocked at Natsu’s condition. He fidgeted with his scarf, pulling on it with a finger as if it were the reason for his growing discomfort. Lucy smiled at Happy, a growing knot of fondness forming in her chest at how unsure he was, his nerves further revealed when he gulped and coughed into his hand. “Uh, I didn’t mean to-”
“I’d love to Natsu.” Lucy interrupted.
“Wha-?”
“I was going to grab dinner at the diner down the street. Do you want to join me?” Lucy asked, blinking up at Natsu as she continued to pet Happy’s head. “I’ll pay,” she sang, grinning at his still baffled expression.
Lucy could feel her smile growing more smug as seconds ticked by until finally Natsu’s face broke into the largest grin she’d ever seen. She yelped when he grabbed her wrist, pulling her out of his apartment. Happy dropped to the ground with an offended ‘marow’, calling loudly as the door was once more closed.
With Natsu’s lanyard still wrapped around the blue cat.
“Natsu!” Lucy called, her turn to be confused as she was led out of the apartment.
“C’mon, Luce! I’m starving!” Natsu answered, still dragging her even as he looked back over his shoulder, grin so bright his eyes were closed. Lucy huffed, smiling in return as she jogged the few steps to be by his side.
Lucy giggled as his hand slid from her wrist down, fingers intertwining slowly and his grip light, obviously testing the waters in a way as subtle as a teenage boy yawning and putting his arm around a girl in the theater. She squeezed his hand, smiling at his shyly when he snuck a glance down at her.
Her chest felt light and giddy as they walked down the street. This was the start of something new and wonderful, Lucy just knew it. Maybe she wouldn’t have to travel the world to find her adventure, after all.

Man’s Best Wingman (Marlontine)
I finally wrote this inspired by this drawing of Marlon and Clem done by @areallyyellowmango and it’s one of my favorites. I love your art, lass, you are amazing! So here’s the story, hope you enjoy!
The gate to Ericson’s creaked open, the hunting party was back.
“Welcome back,” Clementine greeted the three boys. She was on watch with AJ. Clem climbed down the ladder to see if they needed help with anything.
“Thanks, Clem,” Marlon said as he entered with his dog, Rosie.
“We caught some rabbits,” Aasim said as he came in.
“We’ll be eating like royalty tonight,” Louis said, being the last of the hunting party to come in. “What do you say, Omar? Another cooking show of your famous rabbit stew?”
“No,” Omar said back.
“Oh, come on! We need something entertaining around here,” Louis said as he walked off.
Clementine bent down to pet Rosie.
Marlon looked back at them as he closed the gate, seeing Rosie’s wagging tail. He smiled. “Hard to believe you were scared of her not too long ago.”
“A dog attacked me when I was eleven, I don’t think you can blame me,” Clementine said.
“I guess not, but I told you, she’s as cuddly as she comes. I think she likes you,” Marlon said as he walked over to her.
“Well, I like her, too,” Clementine smiled, giving Rosie one last scratch behind her ears before standing up.
“Hey, Clem,” Ruby came up to her. “Do you think you could help me harvest some stuff from the greenhouse for the stew?”
“Of course.” Clem looked up at AJ. “Can you can handle watch by yourself?”
“I can do it!” AJ said back.
Clem smiled up at him then back at Marlon, giving him a small wave before heading off towards the greenhouse.
Marlon untied Rosie’s leash from his belt. As he was about to take the leash off Rosie’s collar, she barked and bolted after Clementine. Marlon had the end of the leash wrapped around his hand, forcing him to be unwillingly be pulled along by Rosie.
“CLEM!”
She turned around and saw Marlon and Rosie coming straight for her.  Rosie ran around Clementine’s legs as Marlon collided with her, he was thankful he didn’t knock her over. The leash behind her legs pulled her towards him then Rosie ran around Marlon’s legs, pulling him towards her.
They both panicked as they struggled to stay balanced as Rosie continued to wrap her leash around their legs. In their panic, the leash from Marlon’s hand dropped and was immediately caught by Rosie. The dog took one step back, pulling the two closer together. The scene caused everyone in Ericson’s to look at them.
They heard Louis laugh out loud. “See, this is what I call entertaining!”
“Louis!” Marlon exclaimed to shut him up.
Rosie moved again, causing both Clementine and Marlon to lose their balance momentarily as the leash tightened around their legs. They gained their balance back and they looked at each other, cheeks turning red at how close they were.
“Can someone help us?” Clementine asked, breaking eye contact with him.
“I don’t know, this is kind of funny. Rosie, come!” Louis said.
“No! No! No!” Both Clem and Marlon repeated.
They both tried to take a step backward out of instinct, but they ended up swaying back and forth, trying to find their balance again. Clementine and Marlon grabbed onto eachother’s arms to steady themselves.
“Rosie, sit!” Marlon said quickly.
Rosie followed his order.
“Stay!”
Rosie tilted her head, the end of her leash still in her mouth.
“Drop it!”
Rosie didn’t listen.
“Rosie, drop it!”
She still didn’t listen.
Marlon and Clementine wobbled again and they made eye contact, their faces were closer and redder than before.
“Hang on,” Violet said as she approached them. She unclipped the leash from Rosie’s collar and began unwrapping the two. They both let go of each other once they were free, sighing in relief.
“Thanks, Vi,” Marlon said to her.
“Yeah, thanks,” Clementine said.
They both glanced at each other, turning away as they continued to blush.
“I’m just going to- yeah...” Clementine quickly left, following Ruby to the greenhouse. Her hand tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear and took the opportunity to hide her embarrassment.
Marlon grabbed Rosie’s collar and pulled her to the steps of the admin building, he needed to sit down. He was completely embarrassed about what happened.
“What the fuck, Rosie?” He muttered to her.
Rosie wagged her tail at her name being called. The end of her leash fell out of her mouth as she panted. She has never done anything like that before.
The sun began setting and it was dinner time by then. Clem and Marlon didn’t make eye contact with each other at all and sat at the diagonal ends of the table. They barely said anything all dinner.
Rosie came up to Clem under the table and pawed at her leg. Clementine glanced under the table to see the dog sit and beg. She knew Marlon already fed her, there were some remnants of the stew on her face. Clem looked down in her own bowl, she was done eating, there wasn’t enough to fill another spoon, and besides the bowl needed to be cleaned anyway.
Clementine gave in and set her bowl down on the ground for the dog. Rosie licked the last of the rabbit stew out of the bowl and it didn’t take long for her to finish. Clem picked up the bowl as soon as she was done.
Rosie smiled back up at her and Clementine gave her a good scratch behind the ear before she got up. Marlon soon finished his dinner and got up as well, Louis pulling him to the fire to play a game.
“Clem, care to join?” Louis called.
“Not tonight,” She said, escorting AJ to the dorms.
Louis asked everyone else to play as Marlon sat down on the couch, his gaze never left Clem as she walked inside. He snapped out of his stare when he felt something wet on his hand. Marlon jumped slightly but looked down to see Rosie licking him.
He smiled as Louis sat next to him.
“I guess it’s a guys night,” Louis spoke, handing the cards around. “It’s truth or dare time!”
Marlon scoffed as he drew a card. Rosie laid down by his feet. He flipped his card over, revealing the three of hearts.
Louis, on the other hand, drew a king of diamonds.
“Marlon, truth or dare.”
“Truth,” He wanted to let his dinner settle before accepting any dare.
His best friend snickered at him. “You and Clementine have been getting along pretty well the past few weeks.”
Rosie perked up at the name.
“So I must ask,” Louis continued. “Did you enjoy being tied up with her a couple hours ago?”
Marlon was silent and he decided that he hated this game.
“And at that moment, Marlon knew he fucked up,” said Louis.
It was night time. Marlon had his hands in his pockets as he walked back to his room, Rosie right beside him. She walked ahead of him, sniffing the ground as she headed towards a dorm room. Marlon noticed that it was Clem and AJ’s room and Rosie scratched at the door. He quickly went to go grab her collar and pull her off but stopped when the door opened. Clementine was standing right there.
“Hey,” she said.
“Hey,” he said back.
AJ came to the door and he smiled. “Hi, Marlon! Hi, Rosie!”
“AJ, here.” Marlon reached into his pocket and pulled out a tennis ball and tossed it to the boy. Rosie immediately wagged her tail at the sight of the ball. “Throw it down the hall.”
AJ did so and Rosie chased after the ball. He laughed then chased after the dog. Clementine jerked her head inside the room and Marlon followed her lead. Marlon pushed the door behind him, listening to it tap on the hinge. Clem leaned up against the bunk bed.
“Sorry about earlier, with Rosie and the leash,” Marlon said, scratching the back of his neck as he walked towards her.
“It’s fine, it’s actually kind of funny,” Clementine huffed out a laugh.
“I guess it is, I just don’t know what’s gotten into her lately.”
“Has she been doing this with everyone?”
“You mean with the stunt from earlier? No, Rosie’s a good dog, she always has been, but she’s been different, you know.”
Clementine glanced at the door, hearing the bouncing of a ball get thrown.
“And by the way, I did notice you give her your leftovers,” Marlon said.
“What? I totally did not,” Clementine scoffed.
“Your bowl was spotless, kind of like how Rosie’s bowl is after she’s done eating.” He smirked.
“You have no proof.”
He chuckled. “If you did, I’m just letting you know that she’s going to think your the weak link of the group, she will beg from you at every meal.”
“Your dog is super cute when she begs, you know?”
“Oh, I know, are you admitting that you gave her food?”
“I still don’t know what you’re talking about.”
The door opened slightly, Rosie’s head poking through. They both noticed and shrugged it off.
“So, uh, Clem,” Marlon started. “I was planning on walking the perimeter of the school wall and make sure it’s safe and I was hoping you’d come with me?”
“Yeah, AJ and I would love to help out,” Clementine nodded.
“Well, actually… I was hoping it’d be…” Marlon shyly scratched his head. “This sounded a lot better in my head,” He muttered, trying to pull himself together.
Clementine raised an eyebrow. Marlon wasn’t like this, she knew that.
“Uh… I…”
Rosie nudged the back of Marlon’s knee, causing him to fall forward. His arm braced himself above her head on the bed, while Clementine put her hands on his chest, afraid he’d fall on her. They both blushed at how close they were, their faces were closer than before when Rosie pulled her stunt.
Clementine didn’t know what to say, her voice went dry, but she didn’t want to push him away. Marlon was getting annoyed by Rosie’s antics, but at that moment she was the last thing on his mind. They both inched their heads closer to each other slightly, glancing down at the other’s lips before back up into their eyes, then finally, they closed the gap and their lips met for a kiss.
Marlon’s hand moved up to the back of her head and Clem’s hands gripped onto the fabric of his shirt as they pulled each other closer, deepening their kiss for a bit longer.
They soon pulled away, smiling at what just happened. Clementine bit her lip as if to savor it and Marlon thought it was cute. They couldn’t stop blushing.
AJ burst into the room, holding the ball in his hand. Clem and Marlon jumped away from each other and turned to the kid who tossed the ball to the dresser. Rosie chased after it, chewing it in her mouth when she got it. AJ ran over to Rosie and she flopped down on her back, the ball dropping from her mouth as AJ scratched her belly.
Both Clementine and Marlon smiled at the sight. It was cute seeing the kid and the dog be so happy.
“You two seem to be having fun,” Clementine said.
“Yeah, Rosie’s cool. You should have seen her, she was running so fast when I threw the ball!” AJ exclaimed.
“I’ll bet,” Clem said back.
“Marlon, can Rosie stay with us tonight?” AJ asked.
Marlon was surprised, no one has asked that before. Clementine took a hold of his hand.
“You can stay with us too if you’d like,” She told him.
He smiled back at Clem and squeezed her hand lightly. “Yeah, we can stay.”
“Yes!”
Clementine pulled him to her bed to sit down. They watched AJ play with Rosie some more. Soon enough AJ got tired. Clementine got up to tuck him in, Rosie hopped up and curled up at the foot. She gave Rosie a goodnight scratch before climbing into her own bed with Marlon. They faced each other, admiring their facial features.
Marlon closed his eyes for a brief moment.
“Marlon?” She whispered, tapping a finger on his nose.
His blue eyes opened to meet her golden eyes.
“I’d love to go check the perimeter with you.”
Even though it was dark, he could see her smile. He smiled back. “It’s a date, then.”
He wrapped an arm around her and pulled her closer to him. His body was so warm. Clementine wrapped an arm around him to hold him closer. It didn’t take long from cuddling each other and being in each other’s warmth for them to calmly fall asleep.
