ok but why is it weird that abigail doesnt want to whine at the support group about being a victim. why is it weird that she wants to cover up her scar and not fight for the world to understand her or normalize what she went through. she said it in the most clear of terms, what happened to her is not normal, theres no way to spin it in a way people who didnt share her trauma can understand. she just wants to go to a place where no one recognizes her and live her normal life why is this so foreign and strange for alana. why doesnt she leave abigail alone. am i missing something or?

You Drive Me Crazy (Colt x MC)
PART ONE
Tumblr media
Hey all! This is my first Colt fanfic ever and I’ve been wanting to write something for him for ages! This is the first chapter of the mini series, which will get interesting later on because this chapter is super fillerish. Please note, it’s an AU and I’ve changed quite a few things! Please let me know if you want to be added or removed from the tag list!
All characters belong to Pixelberry, I dont own them.
! In this AU Ellie (MC) and Colt have been friends for a few years and they are older than in canon !
Rating: PG
Word count: ~1550

(I didnt tag the whole of my perma tag cause I know most of the people on it dont read RoD so dont hesitate to let me know if you dont want to be on the taglist or want to be added)
“How does your last teenage days feel?”
At the sound of Colt’s voice, Ellie jumped and turned quickly to face her friend, now standing in the doorway, smug smile on his face.
“You’ve scared me! I told you to knock!” She squealed throwing a pillow at him.
“I would if you finally learned to close the door, El,” he said looking around the room. “Preparing for college, I see?”
“Mhm,” she nodded, eyes focused on her giant to-do list.
“Yeah, what’s better to do on a Friday night, huh? Especially when your father is on a night shift. Packing sounds perfect,” he teased, peeking at the contents of Ellie’s suitcase.
She turned to him and narrowed her eyes. “I just don’t want to leave it for the last moment!”
“And where’s the fun in this?” Colt asked and Ellie rolled her eyes.
“How are we even friends?” She looked at him jumping on her bed, still in his dirty clothes and she fought the urge to tell him to get up and at least take off his shoes. It never worked though. Ever since she met Colt Kaneko over ten years ago she knew he was a complete opposite of her. The only thing they had in common was the situation with their fathers.
Both Ellie and Colt couldn’t find a common language with their parents. Ellie’s father being a police officer was very protective of his daughter and rarely ever let her do anything she really wanted. Colt’s father, on the other hand, seemed not to care about his son at all. When still a young boy, Colt tried his best to get approval from his father but Teppei wasn’t exactly the kind of father who would pat his son on the back and say “good job, kiddo.” So Colt stopped trying. His life from then on was full of what he called “fun” and what Ellie called “stupidity.”
She was the perfect daughter who for her own father’s sake postponed going to college and stayed with him for a little bit longer when he didn’t feel his best. Her days consisted of studying, helping her father, meeting with the two friends she had, drawing and constant daydreaming.
His days were full of clubbing, different women he happily invited to his apartment, long drives on his beloved motorcycle and illegal races, but these were from time to time.
Ellie always teased him about his lifestyle and tried to act all “motherly” but Colt never listened to her, however he was glad to have at least one person who seemed to care about him.
Maybe this was what was drawing him to Ellie. She was so different yet she understood him like no other. And never judged him. She was his “safe haven” even though he could never admit this out loud.
“I’m gonna miss you when you’ll be in college,” he sighed playing with one of Ellie’s porcelain figures.
“You can always go back to college too. I’m sure they miss you after so many years of absence,” she smirked at him and he stuck out his tongue.
“It’s Friday night, El.”
“Hmm? Yes, I can see that,” she murmured, counting something and writing the numbers down.
“You should do something fun! I can take you--”
“Colt,” Ellie turned to him, “no offence but we have two different concepts of fun. I don’t like yours.”
“I just want you to live a little! You complain about feeling trapped in a cage but you don’t want to do anything outside your comfort zone!”
“It’s not that easy!”
“For example, you’ve always wanted a driver’s license? Tell me, what’s stopping you?”
“My father? You know what he thinks about it!”
“Ellie, you’ll be twenty in three days, why don’t you just stand up for yourself?”
“Well, I’m not you Colt!” she exclaimed and then added, whispering, “And I don’t want to lose my father.”
“You won’t--”
“Just drop it! Please, I have other things to think about right now,” she waved her hand and turned back to checking things off her to-do list. Colt was watching her with a forced disguise on his face. She was so stubborn... He had been trying to make her do more crazy things but he failed almost every single time. The only thing she ever agreed to was riding his motorcycle from time to time. And it was a huge success.
“You’re such a nun!” he finally spoke, teasing her as always.
“Says the American Don Juan!” Ellie teased back with a smile on her face.
Finally, a smile!
“Wha-aat, me?!”
“You!” she chuckled, “You earned quite a reputation here. Especially after that situation with...what was her name? Alice? Alana? Amber?”
“Err...does it really matter?”
“I guess it doesn’t to you,” she sighed sadly and motioned her room. “I’m gonna spend the rest of the night preparing my stuff so if you don’t wanna help maybe you should go find a new girlfriend for the night.”
Colt stood up and hesitated a little before finally nodding. “Right, I guess I should go. See ya tomorrow, El!”
“Yeah...See you...”
~~~~
“Wow, I can’t wait to meet her! You’ll see, a few meetings with me and she’ll forget about being all nice and proper!”
“Oh no, no! Don’t break my friend, Mona! She might seem boring but she’s still my friend,” Colt laughed, sitting next to his new collegue during the lunch break.
Ever since his father hired Mona, he finally felt like he had someone to talk to. Someone he could vibe with.
“I think she just needs some stimulus. Maybe going to college without her father will help?” Mona suggested and Colt smiled.
“Probably...”
“Why do you even care about it so much? It’s her life!” she took a sip of her drink and twisted her face as the sour taste filled her mouth.
Colt sighed, “I just want her to enjoy life. I see how miserable she is, I’m tired of her constantly complaining about it.”
“You can’t change her into you, Colt. If that’s what she really wants, her time will come eventually. You can’t speed up those things.”
Colt only grunted in response and Mona waited a few moments to ask another, more important in her opinion question.
“Do you...have a crush on her?” she started, suspiciously studying her new friend’s face.
“No! We’ve been friends forever and I don’t see her this way. Besides, she’d never want a guy like me...Nope.”
“Mhm,” Mona narrowed her eyes as if not believing what Colt just said. But what else could be said? It was all true, Colt wasn’t Ellie’s type. She always dreamed about a prince charming, about having a long-term, stable relationship. And Colt had never been in one. And didn’t know how to be in one either. And most surely, he wasn’t a prince charming. Lost in his thoughts, he suddenly realized Mona was talking to him this whole time.
“Hm?”
“I asked: when do I get to meet her? Is she organizing a birthday party I can crash?” Mona repeated trying hide the annoyance in her voice.
“Ha! Ellie has been to a party once and never again. She said it wasn’t her scene or something. No, she doesn’t have any plans for her birthday... unless... unless...”
“Unless what?” Mona asked impatiently but Colt only smirked and jumped up, startling her.
“I’ll tell you later, gotta go now!”
And without paying attention to Mona’s yells, he drove to Ellie’s house. She opened the door still in her pajamas but with make up on.
“What are you doing here?” she asked confused, letting him in.
“I have a proposition for you. And I don’t take ‘no’ for an answer.”
“Okay...Spill it!”
“I’m taking you on a birthday trip. Well, two days trip to be exact. But I promise it’ll be fun! And we can cross out some things off your bucket list, yes, I know you have one,” he shook his head not letting her interrupt, “we can jump off the cliff at midnight and do all these fancy stuff you’ve always wanted so that you can go to college and actually have something interesting to tell.”
“Jerk,” Ellie shoved him playfully but he grabbed her hand before she could hit him again. “I think Dad won’t mind, he has a night shift anyway. But as for me...Two days with you seems like too much. And what will you do without your girlfriends? What will they do!” she teased him as he rolled her eyes, still holding her hand.
“They’ll survive. So what, do we have a deal?”
“I don’t know...”
“Come on, El! I promise you’ll have lots of fun!”
“Ugh, fine! But we’re staying in a hotel, not in a tent like last time!”
“Yes ma’am! Great! See you then!” Colt hopped on his motorcycle, grinning and mentally planning everything for Ellie’s birthday trip.
Get ready, Ellie. This will be the most unforgettable birthday you’ve ever had.
this bites, chapter two
on ao3
whats up im dying
i dont know whats happening here are some vampire kids and wow things got weirdly heavy for the second chapter my b
enjoy?
Zoe stops Connor before he can open the front door. He rolls his eyes and lowers his sunglasses.
“What do you want.”
She grips her umbrella a little tighter. “I want to tell Alana.”
Connor stares at her. Then he scoffs and steps around her to get to the door.
“Don’t ignore me!” she snaps. “We have to talk about this!”
“No we don’t,” he mutters as he unlocks the door. “Mom, we’re home!” he shouts into the house.
“Kitchen!” Cynthia responds.
Connor turns back to Zoe. “Not while Mom is home.”
Zoe grits her teeth. “Why not.”
“Because we both know there will be yelling,” he hisses. “And she doesn’t need to be involved with…this.” He gestures vaguely to Zoe.
She makes a face, showing off her fangs. “Fine. But this isn’t over.”
Connor shrugs and enters the house, dumping his keys and sunglasses in the bowl by the door. He tosses his hat on the dining room table. Zoe closes her umbrella and leans it against the wall after she closes the door.
“I’m going to do homework,” Connor announces as he moves to toward the stairs.
“Sure you are,” Zoe mumbles.
Connor flips her off and doesn’t bother turning around to see if she returned the gesture. He’s tired and he does have homework. Usually he doesn’t have to study much, seeing that he’s learned everything in high school a few times already, but sometimes things change and new techniques are developed and other times he just never got around to learning a subject. Like fucking statistics.
Larry will stab him if he doesn’t pass.
He stares at the notes Evan gave him for a little while before he gives up and goes back to reading a book he’s read fifty six times already. They’re reading it in class and he has to be careful to not spoil the ending. And he has to be careful that the teacher doesn’t catch onto the fact that he knows this book incredibly well.
Connor isn’t smart. He’s just had more time.
Zoe doesn’t even bother knocking on the door, she just bursts in.
Connor doesn’t look away from where he’s laying on the floor, reading.
“Mom left,” Zoe says. “We have to talk.”
“Homework,” he deadpans.
Zoe snatches the book out of his hands and throws it over her shoulder.
Connor props himself up on his shoulder. “What the fuck, Zo, that’s a nice edition.”
She squats down next to him. “We have to talk.”
He groans and lays back down. “We really don’t.”
She throws her hands up in the air. “Stop saying that!”
“Then you have to stop being ridiculous!”
“I’m not being ridiculous. Evan and Jared know.” Zoe gives him a look.
Connor glances at her. “We both know that was an accident. Both just…really fucking awful accidents.”
“Would you go back in time and change it?”
He scoffs. “I know that you don’t mess with time, Zoe.”
“You wouldn’t,” Zoe says softly. “I know you like the fact that they know.”
Connor clenches his jaw. “So what?”
Zoe sits down and crosses her legs. “What if Alana finds out accidentally?”
He frowns at her. “You can’t plan an accident. That’s not how this works.”
Zoe scowls. “The only reason I’m even here telling you I’m going to do this right now is because you’ll have to face the consequences of it too!”
“Our parents?”
She shrugs. “Whatever.”
Connor sits up and runs a hand through his hair. “Zo, you’ve had plenty of relationships in the past where you didn’t tell them. Why is this different?”
“Cause Alana is smart. She’ll know something’s up. Plus, I—” She closes her eyes tightly. “Ugh, Connor, this is one of the big ones I can feel it.” She tucks her hair behind her ears and opens her eyes. “I’m going to do it.”
“I don’t think it’s a great idea,” Connor says softly.
She smiles sadly. “You don’t think anything is fun.” She punches his shoulder playfully. “You’re super lame. Play it too safe.”
“And yet I’m still here, alive. Amazing.”
“So am I,” Zoe points out. “The difference is one of us sees what makes them happy and goes for it and the other locks themself away and lets the world keep passing them by so they don’t get hurt again.”
Connor looks away.
Zoe leans forward and presses a kiss to his forehead. “I’ll let you know when I tell her so you can be ready for any questions she might have.”
Connor tries not to look too much at Alana. It’s kind of hard when they’re in the same english class, but he just pretends to be really invested in the class discussion.
He glances at her as she passes in the hallway and goes tense when she waves to him between classes.
Connor jumps when Evan touches his arm.
“Are you okay?” Evan asks, eyebrows furrowed.
Connor sighs. “Yeah it’s…” He trails off, not really sure how to talk about this right now.
“After?” Evan asks. “Usual place?”
Connor nods. “Please.”
—«·»—
Connor transforms and lands a feet away from Evan. He’s done this so many times that it doesn’t even startle Evan anymore, which is strangely nice feeling.
Evan glances up from his phone with a smile. “Hey, thought you might’ve forgotten.”
“Nah got caught up with Jared working out something for a project.” Connor pulls the keys out of his pockets. “Ready to commit a B and E?”
Evan shakes his head. “You’re never going to get sick of that joke, are you?”
Connor smirks as he unlocks the door. “Probably not. After you.”
Evan steps past Connor and into the abandoned ice cream shop. Connor follows closely behind him and locks the door.
Every time they come here, Connor wonders how someone hasn’t torn this place down yet. He’s glad they haven’t, he’s been using it as his own sort of hide out since it shut down and he nagged a key from the owner when she wasn’t looking (or expecting a bat to steal her key).
“This place is awful,” Evan says, right on cue.
Connor drops into a booth with cracking vinyl. “And yet you never offer an alternative.”
Evan puts down his books and backpack. “What’s up?” He nudges Connor until Connor scoots over so they can share the same side of the booth.
“Remember that thing I was telling you like…last week?” Connor asks.
Evan raises his eyebrows. “You tell me a lot of things.”
Connor elbows him. “About Zoe and Alana. Zoe cut me off.”
“Uh…sort of? They’ve been getting really close lately, they spend a lot of time together.” Evan’s eyes widen. “Oh.”
Connor snorts. “Come on, Hansen. You aren’t that oblivious.”
Evan buries his face in his hands. “C-come on, Connor. I— Wow that was… They’re…”
“Really obvious?” Connor offers.
Evan nods, face still covered.
“It’s okay, Ev.” Connor ruffles his hair. “At least you won’t have to suffer through all the pining Jared and I have been dealing with for the past like several months.”
Evan groans. He sits up suddenly. “Wait but Zoe’s…”
“What?”
“Aren’t you immortal?”
Connor grimaces. “Yeah. That’s…a thing. I mean, it hasn’t stopped her in the past.”
Evan blinks. “What?”
Connor rests his elbows on the table. “Zoe’s had plenty of relationships before. It’s not like…that unusual? I guess? It’s…harder.”
“What about you?” Evan asks softly.
Connor avoids his eyes. “I don’t really do that anymore.”
“Oh.” Evan sits back.
“But Zoe,” Connor says, desperate to get back to the subject at hand, “she still goes out. Meets people. Falls in love. She’s…good at it. She doesn’t—” He inhales sharply. “It’s painful to watch when you know the outcome and you always know the outcome. It’s even more painful to live it. But there’s— there’s always this one fucking part of you that hopes that somehow…it’s not going to turn out the same way this time but…that’s not how anything works.”
Connor shrugs helplessly. “Zoe has gotten used to breaking hearts and getting her own broken. I don’t think that makes it any easier.”
“D-doubt it,” Evan mumbles.
Connor takes a deep breath. “Zoe’s going to tell Alana.”
Evan jerks away. “What?!”
“She’s going to tell Alana.”
“About the—?” Evan gestures frantically at Connor.
Connor forces a laugh and grabs Evan’s hands to avoid getting hit in the face. “Breathe, Ev. Yes, the vampire thing. We talked about it. I mentioned it to Jared before I left today.”
Evan blinks rapidly. “A-and you’re okay with this?”
Connor makes a face. “I can’t stop her so…I guess. Alana is my friend too.”
“You don’t tell people, though,” Evan whispers.
Connor looks down at Evan’s hands in his own. “I guess I start now.”
