National Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasting (NCMRWF), Noida is a centre of excellence in weather and climate modelling under the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Govt of India. The centre develops advanced numerical weather prediction systems with increased reliability and accuracy over India and neighbouring regions through research, development and demonstration of new and novel applications.

The centre especially hosted a program for Galgotias University, which had two major sessions: Introductory session and visit to Super Computer Centre.

Industrial Visit to National Council for Cement and Building Material (NCCB), Ballabhgarh, Faridabad, Haryana

An industry visit for UG and PG students of the division of Chemistry, SBAS, Galgotias University was organised and they visited the National Council for Cement and Building Material (NCCB) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Govt of India. IIT Delhi Visit - 2022

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi is one of the 23 IITs created to be the centre of excellence for training, research and development in science, engineering and technology in India. One-Day Training Programme on Development of Silvipastoral Models Held at Faculty of Forestry, SKUAST-Kashmir

The Division of Silviculture and Agroforestry (SAF), Faculty of Forestry, SKUAST-Kashmir, organized a one-day training programme on Development of Silvipastoral Models for Sustaining Livestock Livelihood at its Benhama Watlar campus in Ganderbal. The programme aimed to promote sustainable agricultural practices and enhance livestock-based livelihoods through scientific methods.

The event commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Nazir Ahmed Pala, Associate Professor, Silviculture and Agroforestry, who stressed the need for scientific approaches in farming to improve productivity. He provided an overview of the programme and its significance for livelihood development and self-sustenance.

Programme Coordinator and Head of SAF, Dr. G. M. Bhat, elaborated on the importance of silvipastoral models in supporting livestock and improving farmers' incomes. He discussed agroforestry practices, including fodder tree species and intercropping with perennial fodders, highlighting their potential to fulfill the vision of doubling farmers’ income as envisioned by Hon'ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Participants were given a field visit to explore research plots showcasing traditional agroforestry systems. Dr. Meghna Rashid presented a detailed session on establishing silvipastoral models and encouraged participants, particularly women, to adopt entrepreneurship in agriculture, emphasizing the need for self-reliance in employment.

The event witnessed participation from AICRP-AF scientists, 60 UG and PG students, and local farmers. The programme received support from the MSME, Government of India, and was guided by Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganiae, Director Research Prof. H.R. Naik, Dean Faculty of Forestry Prof. S.A. Gangoo, and Associate Director Research Prof. A.H. Mughal.

The Division of Silviculture and Agroforestry expressed gratitude to the sponsoring agency and the university administration for their continued support in organizing such impactful training programmes.
