Eizen shrugs. He'll pretend not to care, but secretly? Secretly, he's been wondering about this strange human tradition. He's been alive a thousand years and never had a Valentine. It's weird that he cares, he thinks. So, as far as anyone needs to know, he doesn't care. Especially if that 'anyone' is Vicious.

"Far as I know, it's a holiday to give candy and have an excuse to do something 'special' with someone you love." He doesn't meet Vicious' eye, not quite. "Human bullshit." He says it like it's a bad thing.

The only reason why the redhead was here this very day was due to her becoming a seraph after death. She teamed up with a shepherd and other seraphim alike including the old gang to make sure they kept Sorey’s promise to Edna.

“I’m Rose by the way, nice to finally meet you after all this time.” With a grin, she reached for his hand hoping he was aware of his surroundings now. “I hope we’ll get along, and it’s nice to have you not trying to kill us.”

It was only by coincidence that he had stumbled across such an event, keeping to himself, and not particularly caring to get anyone out of trouble if they stumbled upon a daemon’s greedy jaws.

To his surprise however, would it be that his path was blocked by a ferocious battle where a woman with a spear pierced through as the victor with ease.

“I can see that.” Eizen remarks dryly, albeit sounding somewhat impressed by the display. “Not often you find anyone who can hold their own in battle around these parts.”

A twirl of her spear as the monster fell before her. Watching it she almost sighed. How boring, she was expecting more of a fight from the thing. And for it to end so soon made her a bit down. She was hoping for some challenge.

Looking at the man behind her, she hummed slightly at the other. So this place was filled with weak people, how boring.

"Would you be an exception?" she enquired moving closer. He looked rather dangerous, but that didn't say much. He did look like the grumpy type.

“The whole thing is quite hopeless, so it’s no good worrying about tomorrow. It probably won’t come.”

Perhaps Eizen was right. 

Holding out hope had never been a strength of the monarch; was that not why he had fallen in the manner he had? Because he could never see it, the light that everyone else could, that kept them striving forward. When surrounded by darkness it had been so much easier to succumb, so much easier to accept that such was the reality of the world; dark, cruel and twisted... 

“Is it truly so hopeless?” His voice was quiet, little more than a whisper. He could feel it stir within his chest, hesitation steeped in fear, a panic that pushed adrenaline through his limbs and sped his heart. This wasn’t the end- it couldn’t be the end. He did not want to die- not yet- There was still too much he needed to do! 

“I refuse to believe that,” Richard says with more conviction, far more than he truly felt. “Perhaps it truly is hopeless, perhaps there will be no tomorrow, but if that is the case then there is nothing to be lost by fighting. I promised that I would never stop moving forward, that I would bring peace to the world in exchange for how I have wronged it. I haven’t accomplished anything yet!”

“So even if it is futile, I will fight for tomorrow.” 

I will keep moving forward until the very end.

White tail flicked to power an agile body through the water, weaving in between the wooden beams of the port she had found herself in. She believed the humans here called it Zekrom or Zekon or something like that. To her, it was another place where humans gathered, dealing in their shiny objects and sometimes dropping said objects in the water.

Currently the mermaid's attention was caught by the rather shiny hull of the most recent ship to pull into port. It was so shiny! She couldn't look away from it, peaking her head up over the wood of the dock, red hair plastered to her head and her nose pressed against the wood.

What kind of shiny things could be aboard? She couldn't help but wonder as she stared at the huge ship that was the Van Eltia.
