I forgot to post this, but the finished version of my modernized Isokaze class space destroyer, the Harukaze class.

One of the first ships to be produced by Earth after the war, the Harukaze class were modified versions of the Isokaze class destroyers. While most of the the armament remained the same, the VLS silos were moved to the bow and expanded, as well as a pair of twin anti air guns added. Perhaps the most striking change to the ships design was the movement of the bridge aft, behind the dorsal gun mounts, which allowed for both greater crew comfort and command space. The ship’s armour was also notably improved with external plating.

The most unbelievable part of Space Battleship Yamato isn't the space magic, ancient aliens, scifi mumbo, or world ending weapons, but the fact that Underarmor is still in business in the far future of 2202 AD

Has there been an anime reboot that was better than the original? The only ones I can think of are fruits basket and fmab but i don't watch much stuff in general so i don't have much to pull from

Fruits Basket Remake is disqualified because it looked like this

Otherwise uh. Himitsu no Akko-chan 2 was probably the best version of that anime meaning it was a reboot that was better than its original and better than Akko-chan 3 which was also a reboot.

While each version of Dororo has something it brings to the table, I think the 2019 reboot was better than the 60's anime.

And on the subject of Tezuka anime, both Astro Boy reboots are phenomenal. The 80's reboot in particular really redefined Astro Boy forever.

While I don't necessarily love its modernizations, Glass Mask 2005 is supposedly really good and from what I've seen from it, I do like how it adapts the manga's story more than the 80's anime even if I liked the 80's look more.

There's a lot of discussion to be had about whether the original Ghost in the Shell movies or Stand Alone Complex are better. And considering a new anime is being made by Science Saru which seems like it's going to be borrowing even more from the manga, I'm very excited about that.

Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2199 is probably the example of how to do a modern anime reboot. It was a massive success and even did enough to give fans of the original a reason to watch it.

Oh this was fun to think about. Thank you! Mila's good mood songs tend to be nostalgic for her... in particular one. The Space Battleship Yamato 2199 opening

While Chiro is the Starblazers superfan of the family, Mila has just as many memories of the entire thing. She loves it just as much as Chiro does, but she's definitely more subtle. The music however, will always be nostalgic for her, especially the opening. She used to sing it with Chiro a LOT to cheer him up when he was little.

KOKIA in flashback - 2013

The year of 2013 marks KOKIA's 15th anniversary. Having traveled to Bali, Indonesia in the year before, KOKIA has gotten inspired for her 15th anniversary concert and names it COLOR OF LIFE. The accompanying album is called Where to go my love?, although both album and concert are colored by a dramatic event in KOKIA's life. This is the translation of the blog entry she made in March 2013, and this is the translation of her blog post almost ten years later. Holding the anniversary concert anyway, despite wanting to cancel it initially, is what strengthens her resolve to keep singing no matter what.

After the concert, KOKIA takes a break and travels to London, a place she will be returning to more and more often in the future. She also takes up studying English. Her performances in Japan slow down for a while as she finds her footing again, but she assures her fans that she appreciates their support and will continue singing.
