Immersive Art - Research Ettienne Viking

In developing ideas, i suggested the electronic composer Jean Michael Jarre. His musical concerts are made using current digital art technology, his most recent "Welcome To The Other Side" recreated the Notre Dame to raise money for it's repair after a devastating fire. During this concert you could walk around the Notre Dame in the audience looking around in VR while he was playing the concert live, there were also additional lights a moving assets that made the experience feel futuristic which in on theme for the artist. I suggested creating a immersive experience to a song similar to this for the dome where we could animate items in time to the music as it moves around the dome.

‌I then went on to suggest the recent build of The Sphere in Las Vegas. The 2.3 billion dollar development was to create the largest immersive experience in the world. on its opening week to showed immersive experiences of the world, galaxy and nature videos filed with 360 view for the audience inside. U2 also played the first concert inside showing spectacular digital art along side their music. this supported my idea for a musical immersive experience for the dome that used animations and assets for the audience.

‌I finally looked at the Artechouse, which provides installations year round. the one that caught my eye was the Magentaverse and Pantone Collection that was featured last year. These experiences you can walk through and see items moving around the room, the creativity of these installations inspired the idea behind the northern lights and galaxy background ideas for the dome project.

Las Vegas hat eine neue Attraktion, die definitiv nicht zu übersehen ist: "THE SPHERE" Die bisher höchste Kugel-Konstruktion ist wahrlich beeindruckend. Die neue Event- und Mehrzweckhalle im "The Venetian Resort" mit 157m Durchmesser bietet bis zu 23.000 Gästen Platz. Highlight dieser Halle ist ist die 54.000 m2 Außenfläche, die mit 57,6 Millionen LEDs bestückt wurde und somit die Außenfläche zu einem riesigen 18k-Bildschirm verwandelt und somit mit 1,2 Millionen Lichtpunkten die bisher größe LED-Leinwand der Welt ist. Auf dieser auf der von der deutschen Firma Kalzip aus Koblenz hergestellten Dachkonstruktion befindlichen Leinwand sind hochauflösende Animationen, Filme und Bilder über die komplette Kugel darstellbar. Aber genauso wurde auch im Inneren der Kugel geklotzt: Im Inneren des Kugelbaus bedeckt das weltweit erste 16K-LED-Display 15.000 m² der Innenwand. Die Eröffnung der Sphere war am 29. September 2023, als die Band U2 dort ihre mehrmonatige Liveshow U2:UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere begann. Die Besucher waren überwältigt und waren sprachlos über dieses völlig neuartige Erlebnis. Über 165.000, auch in den Boden integrierte Lautsprecher sorgen dafür, dass der Zuschauer an jedem Platz den bestmöglichen Sound erhält, unabhängig von der gebuchten Platzkategorie oder dem stattfindenden Event. 4D-Elemente wie plötzlicher Temperaturwechsel, Gerüche oder Luftbewegungen wurden ebenfalls integriert und heben das audiovisuelle Erlebnis auf ein völlig neues Level. In diesem Video sieht man den sonntäglichen Riesen-Smiley, der für Schmunzeln in so manchem Gesicht der Las Vegas Besucher sorgt. Auch Anreisende haben bereits aus dem Flugzeug heraus "The Sphere" bestaunt und das eine oder andere Video im Social Network veröffentlich. In London ist bereits geplant, eine zweite "Sphere" zu errichten. Wo sie stehen wird und wann sie gebaut ist, ist noch nicht veröffentlicht.
