fiyero is SOOOOOOOOO fucking wonderful. he's like if a girl was burdened by a past that both helped her become who she is but one that will always haunt her as well no matter what she does. and she knows that but fiyero chooses to stare at the people that wronged her and her own murder and take it as a way to be reborn into who she really wants to be and i think that's wonderful. they literally looked death in the face and said no matter how hated i was no matter how much wrong people did to me i will bring love to everyone i know. to such a degree she is a bleeding heart in the form of a waterfall in terms of kindness. she could so easily be used AND SHE KNOWS THAT but she chooses to be kind none the less. i love fiyero so much i love how you write him i love how complex he is i love writing with You and i am exploding both of you ( mun and muse ) with my brain. yess girl keep being pushed into a position of a leader no matter what form you take. yessss girl keep worrying for those around you no matter what it won't be your downfall or anything because someone bad is gonna come along and use htat. I cry.

YOU GET IT BILLY YOU GET ITTT. fiyero's complexities are truly my favourite parts of writing her. i really don't want her kindness to come across as naivety. she knows that it's easy to be taken advantage of! she knows that there's going to be people who use her for her willingness to be caring.

and it's not even that she's banking on winning people over with her loving personality. she knows the risks, and she decides to be the person that she is anyways. because she spent a hundred years being somebody else, she's not going to put any more time into pretending otherwise, even if it's for her own safety.

fiyero doesn't even inherently believe in people being "good". people are people. personhood can't be divided into what's good and what's wrong. and the same thing goes for her— even if fiyero is caring, even if fiyero is kind, she has the potential to act self-servingly and do what's best for her only. early on in the story, she still asks for money in exchange for whatever rescue mission they're on. the tieflings in the grove scrape together whatever they can because fiyero asks to be paid for saving them from the goblins (despite her connection to her people, despite her genuine want to help them). she still kills people, all the time, because the circumstances of her world and the reality of her situation don't allow for anything else.

fiyero doesn't think of herself as good person, because she doesn't think anyone is. and that makes it so much easier to give others gratuity. even if it eventually leads to her downfall :)
