Your husband Fernando never made his birthday a big deal, but when your daughters begged you to throw him a surprise party, you just had to agree. It was adorable how much they cared about his special day and you knew he'd appreciate it.

Usually his birthday consisted of a stressful race, but since it fell on a Monday this year, it was the perfect opportunity to get everyone together.

This was why you were with Lance. You weren't really "alone" with him either. Not even ten minutes after the picture was posted Nando had dropped off your kids to take them to the beach.

You watched as the girls walked along in the sand, picking up any seashells they found.

"We have everything right? Balloons? Venue? Everyone RSVP'd?" you fidgeted with your bracelet.

"Yes, Y/n we have everything," Lance responded.

"Good. I just want this to be perfect."

"It will be," he smiled.

Nando couldn't help but notice the way your phone vibrated on the dinner table. This has been going on for a few weeks now. People calling you at odd times, your phone blowing up with texts, randomly going out with the grid...

He knows you would never cheat on him, but he still found it strange that you'd never mentioned anything about this to him. Up until now, you told him everything.

“Who is it?” Fernando asked, taking a bite of his meal.

Mariana and Sofia looked at each other with their eyes wide, not even trying to hide the fact they were in on your little secret.

”What’s this,” Nando gestured to the two girls with his fork. “What are you three up to?” he raised a brow.

”Nothing, mi amor. Let’s just finish eating, yeah?”

“Are you sure? This isn’t something I should be worried about? Sabes que puedes contarme cualquier cosa, ¿verdad?” - (you know you can tell me anything, right?)

“Si, I know. It’s nothing to be worried about. I promise.” you reassured him.

-Fernando's Birthday-

The day started off as it usually did. The twins were up super early to jump in the bed with you and cuddle up beside Nando, wishing him a happy birthday.

He always spoiled you and today was the day to return the favor. You made him and the girls breakfast in bed before taking them out sight seeing in Brussels.

"We have one more stop," you said to Fernando who was in the passengers seat.

You pulled up to the venue and led your family through the door. You were holding Isabella as the twins giggled the whole way inside.

"Surprise!!!" everyone yelled as the lights went on.

The room was filled with gold, white, and green balloons and a heart shaped cake was sitting in the middle of a long table.

Fernando smiled and turned towards you, "Mi amor what is this?"

"Your birthday party," you smiled back as his arm snaked around your waist. "It was the twins idea."

”I love you so much,” he said, kissing your temple and ruffling his the twins hair. He held his arms out to hold Isabella.

"Lets drink," Lando held up a bottle of alcohol making everyone cheer.

Cedric The Sorcerer And S/O With Cooking Love Language!

Cedric and food have a... Complicated Relationship

I have a damn good hunch that man is autistic, so texture/sensory issues, lack of hunger cues, and just Not Wanting To Eat because he's doing something he thinks is too important is a prevalent issue

Of course, you couldn't just NOT do something about it. You loved to cook! You love most of all to cook FOR people

So you ask him about food during your long talks together. Cedric mentions a few basic things he likes, like turkey, stew, potatoes etc but he keeps it irritatingly vague

You try to ask Sofia and even the royal cooks about cedrics favorite meals

All you gleaned from Sofia was his love of sweets and the royal cooks were clueless

Great.

Back to square one!

So with your limited knowledge, you decide to start off by surprising him with breakfast. Using Sofias information, you make him really fluffy pancakes with a dusting of powdered sugar! (Think Japanese style)

To keep things suited to his liking, you put all extras on the side; maple syrup, cut up strawberries (you made them heart shaped) blueberries, melted chocolate, and whipped cream. With some orange juice to wash it all down!

Can't forget some edible flower garnish!

You walked to his door, knocking with your foot (your hands were too full lol)

Cedric thought it was someone else, and he was cranky at first about being disturbed so early in the morning. He opens his door with a scowl, brows knitted in the way you know meant annoyance

But when his eyes rest on you, carrying a huge platter of fresh food and drink, he had to do a double take

Just. Cedric with wide eyes, his jaw about to hit the floor, tripping over his words like. "Wh- what's all th-this for, then...?"

You just give him a big cheeky grin and reply, "For my favorite person <3"

Cedric ushered you into his tower, asking you what the occasion was for, and you could tell he was anxious and worried- so you give him a kiss on the cheek, and tell Cedric that you just wanted to do something nice, and make sure he was fed! You know how busy he can get, so you wanted the sorcerer to start his day with the most important meal of the day

Cedric doesn't know whether to thank you, kiss you, or cry

He kinda does all three 😭

After thanking you profusely, he insisted you share the food with him. He said that you made enough for TWO small armies and he won't be able to eat everything

You try to insist that it was made for *him*, but in the middle of your argument your stomach started growling

Cedric gives you a shit eating grin that screams "I win" and you just sit down with a huff and a (fake) pout

You both enjoy breakfast together, and Cedric literally doesn't shut up about how good everything is

He noticed the heart strawberries and you swear it was the softest smile you've ever seen

He finished his plate and it made your entire day

From that day on, you asked Cedric if you can make him a meal once or twice a week- just to get him accustomed to it

You grow to learn more about food he enjoys, from breakfast to lunch to dinner

Cedric really enjoys sweets for breakfast

A light lunch, because the last time you made something heavy the man slipped into a food coma for three hours

And dinner is your favorite time to cook for him, because you can show off your cooking skills and eat it with Cedric together and make it SUPER romantic

Most of all though, you just love making sure Cedric is fed and taking care of himself. The man is a workaholic to a fault, and you both know it! Which is why he always says thank you and make sure you know how much this means to him

Speaking of, Cedric would try to return the favor in little ways- giving you magic flowers that never wilt, a magic show after a meal, small little animal wind up toys he cobbles together in his spare time (can u guess what his love language is? Lol)

Since he is a picky eater, it's been trial and error to figure out what he likes and doesn't- lots of veggies are a no no, and you respect it and don't push the issue. But the veggies he does like, you use as much as you can! After a while, I could see Cedric trying to branch out a little bit and getting slightly more comfortable with food he previously disliked because you make it taste good (you want to believe he can taste the love)

You try to stick within his comfort zone for food, but sometimes you'll bring something for him to try to gauge where you can cook him new food

Regardless, Cedric adores the effort and care you put into making him food! He offers to even cook for you sometimes! (He conjures it lmao)

Which leads to him talking about food magic! It's quite interesting stuff

But no matter what, Cedric always feels smitten every time he has the pleasure of eating whatever you make for him

Seeing an empty plate from Cedric will always be the highest compliment to you :)

Been super busy lately. Art's coming pretty slowly, so for a change I have a little writing! Currently working on some shit for Kerberos, specifically about his time working on the Cynosure revival project, certainly a relaxing chapter in his life. This little passage does contain his real name, but I'm not giving up his secrets that easily, so for the time being, I'm just leaving blank spaces lol. The other character, Aston, was one of his coworkers on the project.

“Did you know they use them on the moon? Militech does, I mean.” Aston stopped next to one of the work tables laden with a menagerie of tools and manuals, picking up one that seemed to belong to the bot. “Can you imagine being stuck on the fucking moon with one of those? I mean, the thought of a live one here is bad enough.“

“They don’t go rabid on facility workers, Aston, that defeats the entire purpose.” _______ stood beside him, watching him thumb through the manual over his shoulder. “It’s a robot that carries out assigned duties and eliminates unauthorized personnel. And there isn’t a live one! Said it yourself. Wherever our rogue unit is, it's dead. There’s no way we wouldn’t have at least heard it by now.” 

He tossed the packet back down. “We’re authorized, anyway. Site’s defunct, but still needs authorization to operate. On the off chance said rogue unit is indeed still kickin’, shouldn’t bother us.” Aston scanned over the table's contents, brushing a few loose drill bits off a blueprint laid out across the surface. He was quiet for a moment. “Do you think it knows everyone’s gone? You think it’s sad or something?”

“I think it’s a machine run by an AI that doesn’t care about anything other than an aberration it must correct, or a charging station it must connect to. If I’m being honest, I highly doubt it gives a shit.” _______ looked up at the two inactive units. He wondered that himself often. How human it was to see something which merely imitated life and wonder if it had any feelings. “I think that’s something we impose on other things when we get sad.” 

“You think I’m sad, ___?”

“I’m fucking sad. Look at this place.” _______ looked at his warped reflection in the side of a shiny chrome toolbox. “I miss the sun. I miss my bed. I miss not being trapped in Militech’s fucking catacombs.” 

“You’re a ‘runner, ___, so ‘m I. How much of a difference from our dens even is this? Just a little deeper underground.” Aston shrugged. “We’ll get used to it.” 

He stared at himself a little longer. “Sure.”

You’re the one who got me hooked on Rafe and Sofia’s story, and the way you write really draws me in. ooooh for closer i think i remember working really hard and being proud of chapter nine where reader's friend sofia comes to visit - i just always felt like it was so balanced between smut and cuteness and girl time and idk! and also i struggled a lot and fell into a slump towards the mid-end of the story, wanting to make it perfect and end really well! but i still had a lot of fun writing all of that 💕

🌻what makes you want to give up on writing? what makes you keep going?

eeeesh like SO MANY THINGS make me want to give up - exhaustion, time, and feeling inadequate literally all the time. i naturally tend to be down on myself and doubtful of my own abilities, and i put so much pressure on myself. but it makes me want to keep going when i feel sooo much fun coming from this creative outlet and get to engage with people on their writing or engage with people regarding my writing. it really makes my day and keeps me going! 🥺

Hello! I'm so thrilled to have found you here on tumblr! Your writing was an absolute staple of my teenage years and has pretty much haunted me ever since. I definitely lost track of how many times I've re-read lismbwyd but probably atleast once for every depressive episode I had since I was 16 :D Something about the hazy and disoriented feel of the whole story keeps me coming back to it and makes me feel both unsettled and at home the way no other author (fanfiction or not) has ever managed to. Your writing (that's so good, it still seems like it's from another world) definitely has a major part in that but also your Joker and Bruce will always be my darling emotionally unstable men and your Sofia is actually one of my favourite characters of all time (and also the reason I realized that I was probably asexual too lol)

I haven't looked into your current re-upload yet but I can't wait for you to finish it so I can read it all in a single way-too-long sitting!

OMGGG thank you so much, I am melting here 😭💦❤️ I can only hope the new version doesn't disappoint, as it is very different from the original at times (also it's gonna be much longer, I think the original was like 114K words and this one is already at 136K and there's still 3 chapters to go, it's gonna be a big one hehehe).

You know, I always catch myself thinking the original was cringy, badly written and made little sense (could have really used a beta back then lmao) so it means a lot knowing people actually still like it in spite of that 🥹❤️ Tysm, you've made my day!

6. say three nice things about yourself (three physical and three non-physical).

ooh ok so for the physical stuff, I have really long fingers that are actually why i'm a piano player at all, apparently when i was a baby, a family friend commented that my fingers were very long and i should learn piano and my parents really took this to heart. my hair is kinda weird (my mom's family has a whole history of odd hair traits) but it's pretty. and to quote the great larry the cucumber, i love my lips!

non-physical, i'd say i'm instinctively an optimist and it's usually only over-thinking that brings out my pessimistic side. i have a really good sense for metre and lyric. also i love pulling off a good surprise! few things bring me more joy than planning a nice surprise for someone and seeing it go off without a hitch.

26. what movie would you want to live in?

mamma mia 2, i am at all times ready to burst out into abba karaoke with no pre-warning.

27. which character would you want to be?

assuming this is carrying over from question 26, i would want to be lazarous and just sing abba in the bar every night with my band despite not being the world's greatest singer but hell yeah we're having fun. that or sofia because she truly has the greatest line delivery in the movie ("it's called karma. and it's pronounce hAH.") and she's just here to dunk on shitty guys and be a kind mother figure to the wild young girls who come to the island.

i wouldn’t consider myself to be super into film but i do have quite a lot of movie favourites tbh 😭.

1. the virgin suicides — basic bitch answer but god cld i write essays upon essays for both the book and the movie. sofia coppola directed this so beautifully and i loved the subtle elements of implicit female direction despite the fact that the whole plot centred on the boys never rlly understanding/failing the girls.

2. bodies bodies bodies — this movie was funny as FUCK. to be cult classic imo the whole thing had me GAGGED. a24 can basically do no wrong i’d rec this movie to just about everyone.

3. fresh — recent watch and cannibalism is my thing so ofc it’s gotta be in here somewhere. this movie was also rlly funny, it came off a lot as unintentional and in some ways it shldnt have been considering the somewhat ‘sinister’ plot, but i think that’s why i liked it sm.

these are just what popped into my mind immediately, there’s definitely a few more that stray a lot in genre, but i don’t want to bore you so that’s it for now !! honourable genre mention is def psychological thriller though i can’t get enough of those typa movies.
