are there any specific songs that inspired any of your fics? if not, what music do you like in general?

nah, not really. i usually write either in complete silence at like 2am or in my notes app on my phone while riding the bus.

in general, i like a lot of music. im into classical baroque music, especially bach, and i especially like 8bit/techno remixes of classic music lol. in general, i listen to a lot of electronic stuff- darksynth probs being one of my faves. "genesis" by justice, perturbator's "new model" and "lustful sacrament" albums, and we are magonia's stuff is what i've been listening to a lot lately. i like fast, complex sounds, and i think classical music and techno have that in common. if i listen to slower stuff, its usually very bass and synth heavy cold wave and post punk like new order and astrophysics. i also enjoy lots of vocaloid producers and japanese visual kei/gothic metal.

have you ever heard of musica universalis/the music of the spheres? its basically a theory that musical harmony reflects some metaphysical property of math, where all music humans create is striving to be most in-tune with these universal laws of symmetry and balance. johannes kepler popularized it, and then loads of baroque artists like bach internalized it, and whether its true or not, it has influenced a lot of modern music theory. theres a lot of interesting connections between math and aesthetics, not just visual, but also sonic. if you've ever tuned a string instrument, you've probably felt how this is true lol. loads of modern musicians (usually goths) incorporate mathemetically perfect arpeggios into their guitar riffs-- it's why those solos sound so good to listen to. if you ever feel like "visualizing" musical math, i think this video does a good job: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAafyK44fCc
