It is interesting how fandom understands that Rose influenced the Doctor to heal after the Time War and that she changed him for the better, but when it comes to how Rose shouldered the trauma of a veteran who came out of an incomprehensibly horrific war and how the first place that veteran takes her is to see her own planet get destroyed and how later she stands between that veteran holding a gun and a Dalek (she even has dialogue explicitly pointing out that the Doctor is the one who is pointing a gun at her), nobody in the fandom thinks about how any of that would have influenced and changed Rose.
It’s all why is s2 Rose different from s1 Rose? instead. And I think there’s an answer for why she’s different right in front of you.

what do cody and tyler talk about when raj n wayne have playdates together?
mainly just stuff that's been going on since they last saw each other...

(though it's mostly Tyler doing all the talking, there's just been so much that happened since the Zeke incident)

There's only one thing that a Hyde understands. Pain.

people will watch the impossible planet/the satan pit and still be shocked when the show ends with the doctor and rose settling down together

Absolutely insane how much emotional/physical pain Ten suffered in S3, there's everything to do with the loss of Rose which is a repeating theme throughout but also...
The Runaway Bride: Turn Left tells us he would have died at this point if not for Donna
Smith and Jones: plasmavore sucks his blood and he has to be resuscitated
The Shakespeare code: the Carrionite stops one of his hearts, luckily he has two!
Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks: the Doctor gets hurt with the lightning strike, tempts the Daleks to kill him
42: the sun possesses him, he's in such a great deal of pain he actually thinks he's going to regenerate
Human Nature/The Family of Blood: experiences great pain when using the Chameleon Arch as he changes his biology in a similar way as when he regenerates
I think it's probably the only series where he's seen to be in actual pain/hurt/very close to death for most of the episodes, I genuinely can't think of many from S1/S2 except maybe Dalek when Van Statten has captured him...it's a good thing he had Martha who was studying to be a doctor because 😲😲😲 and it's such a testament as to how affected he was by losing Rose that he really seemed to lose sense of himself, he became far more reckless to the point that Martha called him out on it in Evolution of the Daleks even though she hadn't known him for long then, and he genuinely did not seem to value his own life as much as before, he kept putting himself in incredibly dangerous situations that he wouldn't have survived had it not been for Martha and Donna

The fact that Stefan and Bonnie never developed a deeper friendship/ any romantic relationship is crazy to me. Especially considering the parallels with the whole drowning vs. her being dead for a whole summer. The Silas/Quetsiyah of it all. Like??? Can you imagine the meltdown Quetsiyah would've had if Stefan, the doppelganger of the man she was supposed to marry, fell for Bonnie, her descendant??? The constant self-sacrifice, lack of self-preservation, and lack of self-worth, both these characters hold, the perfect set-up for great angst. The story was naturally geared towards Stefonnie and the fact that it never happened or was even considered?? Wild to me. I am always so fascinated by the way the TVD writers constantly ignored the natural progression of certain characters' arcs for stupid shit.

Losing Donna was the last straw for ten. The man who loved so much, so often, who lost three beautiful, important women to him. He lost Rose, and just barely recovered, but partially at the expense of Martha’s wellbeing.
And then he finds Donna again, and he’s happy. He adores Donna, and like River said, “She held you back when you needed holding back, and she egged you on when you needed…egging.” Donna was his best friend, and proof that he could recover, and love, and love someone deeply.
And then he lost her.
And that was the last straw for him. He seems okay sometimes, but then Christina calls him ‘Spaceman’. And then he can’t do what Donna told him to, he can’t even save someone on Mars. He’s running faster and harder than ever before, and he’s trying to control something because he’s lost everyone. He lost Donna, the world won’t let him have anything, he went from briefly having a group of friends, a family, to fly a Tardis with, and within an hour, he was completely and utterly alone again, and that broke him beyond repair. That broke Ten beyond repair.
The Doctor losing Donna was it for him. It was the last thing he could take, until he regenerated. Ten suffered so much and loved so much, and he loved Donna with every last breath he had. And Wilf, even though he’s trying to help, showing the him Donna hurt him so badly. Like dangling all he wants and all he had so recently right in front of him. “You need her, wouldn’t she make you laugh again, good old Donna?”
And Wilf was right. Ten needed Donna.

Apparently I'm writing a Torchwood fic now... I'll write the first few chapters but I'll probably have to actually watch Miracle Day for plot purposes after the first like 10 chapters
