Lola rolls her eyes at Tyler's suggestion, a half-smirk playing on her lips. She outright ignores it, as if a stubborn part of her takes over the more requests are made. Ones she hears as demands. As soon as she hears the joke, Lola gasps out a laugh and sends a teasing smack to Tyler's arm. "You're so gross sometimes, you know that?" her tone is nothing but fond, but her attention moves back to the bowl. "Are you saying I'm not doing a good job here?" Lola teases, arching a brow as she studies the concoction. She knows her experiments aren't always…pleasant, but giving up isn't an option.

Tilting her head, Lola considers Tyler's offer. "Escape sounds nice… but who says I'm ready to quit just yet?" she flashes him a grin and it's softer now. Two days is enough to drive anyone crazy, especially with the concoction starting to smell like some sort of funeral pyre for her pride. "I'm too close to figuring it out to just give up." Lola adds, nodding with determination. Her eyes follow his, a snort escaping as Tyler points at the glowing flower. Her head instinctively shakes. "That'll do the total opposite of calming and focusing. That makes Glow." she gestures with a snicker. "I mean, it's till great, but...not what we're trying to do here." Ah yes, the Royal we.

Slowly, Lola moves to her feet, glancing through the patio with a thoughtful expression. "It sucks, because there's this plant on Equinox. Solace Vine, it'd be perfect." she muses, a more defeated huff escaping her. "They use it in labs for meds, I think. Or, well, that's what I got told. Which is unfair, right? Why can't everyone have some?"

Tyler wrinkles his nose, trying not to laugh. "Could just send a message every so often, get him off your case. And mine." he says, voice lowering to a soft tone. He's already learned the hard way that Lola doesn't like being told what to do, and that includes suggestions. Tyler's careful now, not wanting to push her away, already feeling the small rift forming. He welcomes the kiss to his cheek with a wide smile, however. "Yeah, you make it up to me." he mumbles, trying to stop his thoughts from snapping to a certain place in a typical Cross fashion.

The smell from Lola's concoction fills the air, a mix of burning moss and something else that's harder to place, but it hits strong. Tyler can't help but give her a concerned look. "I ain't ever mean about your flower. She's great." he grins, leaning back slightly as he laughs and tries to avoid a swat to the arm. "Two days, Lo?" he remarks with a laugh. "You gotta know when to call it quits. Don't think what you're throwin' in here is gonna fix it." he leans in again, giving the bowl a curious but worrisome glance.

Tyler pauses, his eyes flicking between her and the concoction again. He nudges Lola with his elbow, eyes softening just slightly. "Anyway, you sure you wanna keep messing with it? Or are you ready to let me help you escape from the smell of...whatever you got going on here? We can come back to it when you're not about to pass out from it yourself." He offers, a little grin tugging at his lips, clearly hoping she'll take him up on the break. "Or, do you want me to start throwin' shit in there too? Lemme see." he glances around at the jungle of a patio, laughing to himself. "That looks like it smells good." he points to a glowing flower, looking back to Lola with a shrug.

Lola has always been a free spirit, a trait running deep in the Alvarez blood. Like her younger sister Ines, she inherited a curious nature, but her curiousness took her on a different path. At the age of fifteen, Lola began experimenting with spice, initially intrigued by its potential medical properties. What started as a teenage venture into hallucinogens slowly morphed into a serious pursuit that shaped her entire career.

Lola's interest in the medicinal and hallucinogenic effects of herbs evolved into a form of alchemy. She began synthesizing potent blends, mastering the art of growing and mixing rare herbs with powerful properties. Though her father, Santiago, has tried to shield her from the dangers of his involvement with The Phoenix Collective, Lola is no stranger to his work. She silently supports the cause, even if she never says it outright.

She's fine pretending she doesn't know because, after all, Lola has her own secret. Behind the secrecy of her friend Astra's apartment, on a small metal patio hidden from prying eyes, she cultivates a wide range of plants. This growing space is both her sanctuary and the heart of her underground trade. Despite her confidence in her craft, she's fearful of drawing too much attention. As a result, she uses Astra to push her products, keeping her own role concealed.

Her mixtures have gained her a loyal following, with demand stretching beyond The Wards to higher levels like Equinox and even discreet clients in Olympia. Though only her closest friends know the true source of these blends, her reputation as a skilled herbal synthesizer grows quietly.

Five years ago, the sudden death of her mother shattered the family. For Lola, the loss of her mother left a deep emotional scar. Beatriz had been a kindred spirit, equally curious and open to the world, and losing her was a harsh reminder of how fragile life could be on The Station. Lola's relationship with her father became more distant, though not strained. She knows he tries to protect his children, but in some ways, that protective instinct feels suffocating to Lola.

Lola sometimes doesn't return home for a few days, often when she's growing or harvesting. She can either be found at Astra's home (if people know to look for her there) or she's with the Crosses, mainly Tyler.

Despite her secret herbal grows, Lola's other income comes from a small stall she sets up on Main Street with art she makes, or usually tapestries she's made or fabrics and trinkets. It doesn't earn as much as her grows, but it's better than nothing.

Her hair is either blonde, pink, or peach from the pink fading and she uses plant based dyes for her pink hair and also creates other colors from glowing flower petals and sells these, too along with natural make up colors etc.

She absolutely adores her family, even if she can feel slightly suffocated when she's at home. Xavier and Santiago's protectiveness make her feel closed in, but as a result she's Ines's biggest supporter, encouraging her younger sister to be as free as she wishes.

CONNECTION IDEAS:

Smugglers/dealers or other growers that could be rivals? Maybe Lola gets pulled into something further than she wishes to be but it's sort of a nonnegotiable situation.

People who might know what Lola does secretly but they're involved in TPC and know Santiago, and Lola doesn't completely trust them.

Character's with illnesses who aren't able to receive real medical treatment and Lola helps, but they could be too sick for it to actually help and/or adverse side effects.
