joomi loves playing instruments. he always played piano throughout his life as an escape from the...abundance of hardships he faced. his fingers grazing the keys could transport him somewhere else, if only for a little while – somewhere that didn't hurt so much.

somewhere like where he is now, really. he's been no stranger to pain in the past year – or week, even – but he knows this is better than how things used to be. even with dohyun leaving, fracturing the trio that was dorenmi, and the sadness and creative block that come with it – this is better. he is safe. he is loved. he gets to make music every day for his job. there is still so much good. he tries, desperately, to focus on that instead of the loss.

the instrument workshops come at a good time, ultimately – another opportunity to float away on melodies he plays, and something new to focus on. he also hopes dedicating time to improving his instrument skills by himself will help bring some of his creativity back.

except he's not by himself. jay is here, and that's probably good, actually. he loves jay, but they don't spend enough time talking about music, all things considered. he was usually always writing with ren and dohyun during their free practice, or dancing with jinyoung, when that was still...relevant.

"yeah," he answers with a soft smile. "it was either this or like...gayageum or drums. but i think i could probably learn drums on my own, and gayageum doesn't feel as fun." he gives the bass in his own lap the lightest slap. "this is my next worst instrument, so it seemed like a solid choice."

joomi raises an eyebrow as jay gossips about their instructor, but he makes a solid point. "someone i know once said musicians are divas," he chuckles. "i think there's probably some truth to that. but as long as he's good..." joomi shrugs. god knows grouchy and strict is probably one of the easiest things he's dealt with.

he smiles softly once again at jay's mention of his love for music. "yeah," he agrees with a nod. "i am honestly not mad about missing out on dance practice for this. playing instruments is one of my favorite parts of training here."

boom boom bass.

while studio delta generally has a schedule for them to practice their instruments, this workshop that's being held feels like the perfect opportuniy to actually lock in and properly polish something that he's meaning to actually get better at. this time, it's the bass guitar. he's rather familiar with acoustic guitar and electric guitar, but when it comes to bass—well, he needed more experience.

the workshops came at the right moment. although he knows being an active participant in this workshop and committing to it means he'll need to sacrifice his time doing other things ( namely his dance lessons, as he's spending more time sitting down and working through an instrument ), he believes he can make up for it later down the road.

"dad, are you trying your hand at bass too?" he asks @bejoomi, tilting his head to the sides as the guitar sits on the base of his lap, held to his chest. "i heard that the mentor for this workshop is actually kind of strict and grouchy," he whispers, partaking in a little bit of gossip. "but usually, those types of people are really good at what they do, aren't they? you know, like our very own lovely ceo."

jay laughs, knowing that it'd be bad if he had spoken in a louder volume. "anyway! this is what i joined delta for, after all. focusing on what really matters to me—the music!"

getting  to  know  the  account

what inspired you to take on this muse: okay story time — originally i had a Teen Wolf OC on here that I loved, she was Theo’s sister (which is wild bc i usually don’t like OC’s that are just thrown into a story and related to a character just because,,,but the way i did it i was like,,,this works), she was a total queen bee, HBIC, rival to Lydia (and I lowkey shipped them 👀)

anyway, i worked hard on her account wrote some starters and had her up for about two weeks before I got discouraged and intimidated bc i couldn’t find anyone to interact with and deleted her lmaooo 💀 i wish i didn’t though, i miss her 😔

ANYWAY i still wanted to rp on Tumblr, i started rping with my best friend on discord and she was doing a Lydia account @literally-lydia on here and I wanted to still rp on tumblr so I was like,,,hold on,,,i love malia tate lets do a malia tate account. 

i also made a jackson account bc i had started writing about him and discovered that, hey, jackson whittemore isn’t the worst guy in the world. he’s got issues that he deserves to have worked out. i like exploring why he was the way he was and also writing jackson is so much fun he’s so mean and it’s so entertaining

what are your favourite aspects of your current muse(s): i found that a common theme between my muses is that they can be mean lmao and just writing their quippy one liners is so much fun. they both come off as hardasses who don’t care about anyone’s feelings but theyre really vulnerable deep down and i like exploring that side of them

what’s your biggest inspiration when it comes to writing: music is a huge thing for me. i love making playlists. i also love graphics, making or just seeing gif sets. THIS ISN’T AN AD BUT I LOVE GETTING MEMES!!!! I LOVE PLOTTING AND THREADING AND SCREAMING ABOUT OUR CHARACTERS!!! seeing a mutual tag me in something that reminds them of our muses makes my heart so happy so like,,,,don’t ever feel like you’re bothering me or spamming me with memes or tags, i love that shit please spam the hell out of me i eat it up yum yum

biggest struggle in regards to your current muse: i’ll start with Jackson bc right now he’s the one i’m having trouble with (if you’re waiting on any replies from him, you know this lmao) but he’s difficult. sometimes i worry that i write him too mean and that people won’t want to write with him or they’ll think i lowkey hate their muses lmao. as for malia, i don’t really have any problems with her. i’ve loved her for years but i’ve never really written as her so i’m just trying to figure her out some more in terms of her memories and such. i worry that i rely too much on the accident in my writings and while yes, it is a very important aspect of her character, i want to dig deeper.

I’m unbelievably happy I can not write some bullshit about how Anthony keeps getting lucky and undefeated now that your team is just clearly better than his. It’s terrifying how there isn’t a weak spot in the lineup. Your two worst starters would be no brainer starters for my team. You made a really good trade, drafted literally better than anyone, and picked up the right people at the right time. Going forward I don’t think anyone even touches you, congrats on making the playoffs buddy. I’m sincerely hoping that Minnesota’s defense holds up against Gurley, and that the Case Keenum revenge game ALL goes to Thielen and McKingod. 

The 1-2 since the last publication of these, maybe I should stop writing them tier

2. Scott’s Balls (Anthony “Did you ever find the Bell funko this weekend?” Mendola) (8-2) (LR: 1)

Feast your eyes on a REAL win streak, you small, insignificant compared to Jack Cleek ass bitch.

I’ll start writing for real things about your team starting next time, but oh man does it feel good to not have to keep the undefeated thing going.

(Also, peep that week 14 game against Dyl. I will bring it up every chance I can.)

The Cream of the Crap Tier

3. Mixon It Up (Alec “I’ve defended Alec’s team since day 1 ask beshoy i have stayed ten toes d-o-w-n for my guy alec except for when he made the trade but its cool since it worked out” Bernstein) (5-5) (LR: 7)

This is a Island of misfit toys, 04 Detroit Pistons situation, because you don’t have a bad player but you only really have one transcendent guy too? Wilson, quietly, has snuck up to QB1, and Graham is reaping all the rewards. Thielen is strangely SUPER reliable, and the rest of the squad is just random stuff that seems to work out for you. I wouldn’t trade for a single one of them, but I also like every single one. It makes zero sense. Your ceiling isn’t that high, but you might be able to ride your floor of 95 all the way to a title.

4. Green Evans and Kam (Beshoy “ty for surviving our costco trip ily” Halim) (5-5) (LR:4)

Scary, scary ceiling if everyone performs. Horrendous floor if they don’t. Each seems as likely to happen honestly. There’s nothing wrong with depending on that, I’d rather have that than most teams, but I just feel like your entire team is now full of players that literally on a weekly basis should do better than what they actually do, which is the most frustrating thing to watch. It makes for really cool content for us because you stress and freak out so much. Anyways, this team is honestly on paper just as good as Jack or Anthony’s teams, but the stats just don’t back it up. I think you’re gonna make the playoffs on the strength of your remaining schedule, but it wouldn’t surprise me if your team threw down a 75 pointer at some point in the playoffs. 

The “someone has to sneak into playoff spots to get throttled in the first round so I suppose it’s these guys” tier

5. Scott’s Penis (David “fuck weed” Chinchilla) (5-5) (LR:3)

I am terrible at letting go of guys that I believe in. I can’t quit starting the same disappointing dudes every week. I’m sort of a poor man’s Beshoy, On paper it looks okay but really it’s just a bunch of inconsistent garbage. I’m still waiting for a breakout game from literally anyone. I hate my team. My one star, my knight in shining armor, the man with the key to my heart is:

6. i can’t take it anymore (Dylan “#coreydavishive” Jessop) (4-6) (LR:6)

If I’m a poor man’s Beshoy, then you’re a poor man’s Alec. (this had to hurt to read and i’m so sorry). You’re good at the same spots (TE, QB) bad at the same spot (RB) and respectable at the other spot (WR). You proved last week that you can put up points, 110 is a pretty decent ceiling, I just don’t know if you get it again. Relying on Belitricks and Eli THAT much might be problematic. If Demarco can finally be good for the last few weeks, you’ve got a real chance at making the playoffs, but you also really really need Crabtree to figure it out again. 

7. Perriman4MVP (Alex “I kinda forgot about your team till now but I also don’t think this is an egregious ranking” Ahn) (6-4) (LR:5)

The injuries really hurt you man. I’m so sorry. At this point, the only players with any bite on your team are Stafford, Tyreek’s random nuts, Kelce, and the Ravens D/Tucker. That alone might get you a floor of like 70, but my GOD does it get ugly after that. Collins isn’t as good as we thought he’d be fantasy wise, and you had to give away Hopkins for parts out of complete necessity (sidebar, I think Robby Anderson is REALLY good, but his schedule is SO bad). I doubt you miss the playoffs since you got to 6 wins relatively early, but I think you’re looking at a pretty early exit unless some guys break out or injuries happen. 

The Dark Horse/Trust the Process Tier

8. Hammer (Tony “hanging on by a thread” Mendola) (3-7) (LR:9)

Even if you were 4-6 I’d have SO much faith, but 7 losses means you’re hoping for other results at this point and you can’t lose out. Anthony has a chance to Kylo Ren your ass this week, and I think he does just that. Thompson hasn’t kept it up, Rawls isn’t even a dart for me at this point, and Fitzgerald/Brady isn’t gonna win you the week. JuJu is a really nice add but it might be in vain, McCaffrey having a game this week would REALLY help. I think this is the week we fade you, but you’ve pulled stuff out of your ass before. 

9. Scott’s Jizz (Scott “would be 5-5 possibly 6-4 if he hadn’t made the Kelce/Thomas trade” Felgenhauer) (4-6) (LR:8)

Week 9 is your biggest regret. Had you kept Kelce, you would’ve won that week AND faded Tony by now. I dunno man, at this point you literally GAVE Kelce and Thomas away, I don’t even know how bad alex’s team would be without that. I’m still upset that it went through, but you have 3 weeks against pretty damn good teams coming up, so we’ll see how it all turns out.

10. drizzy on the comedown (Chris “I’m sorry man” Gatzow) (2-8) (LR:10)

What’s honestly insane is that you drafted almost every single underachiever. The saints are somehow all of a sudden the most devastating ground and pound team in the league, killing Brees. Julio got murdert by Matt Ryan. Baldwin/Howard were loyal, if unspectacular, soldiers. Delanie Walker was JUST good enough to keep starting, but probably not worth doing so. I’m just sorry man. It’s been a combination of bad luck and underperforming players.
